The Samin Community has a rich traditional knowledge system which plays an important role in maintaining social and ecological resilience. Climate change has a significant impact on indigenous communities worldwide. This research aims to understand how the Samin community maintains and strengthens resilience amidst extreme climate change, and how local wisdom can be integrated with modern knowledge and technology to achieve long-term sustainability. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study strategy and ethnography, to describe and explore the resilience of the Samin community. The target of a qualitative approach is a comprehensive description of social life. The analysis combines the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing of a conclusion in a repetitive, cyclic way. The research results show that a holistic approach combining local wisdom, modern technology, and policy is the key to sustainability of the Samin community in the face of climate change

Coastal people live dependently on nature. The change of nature condition has an impact on fishing activity. Damaged sea ecosystem affects the sea biota life and endangers fishermen’s livelihood. Uncertain income leads to the less fulfilled economic need. Considering this problems, this research aims to formulate a strategy used by fishermen to face climate change challenge. The research taken place in Kembang and Gawang Villages, Pacitan Regency used qualitative method with case study approach. Data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation. SWOT analysis was used to formulate strategy by identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The research found that fishermen’s persistence and experience with fishing should be optimized through training and facilitation strategies to face the condition of climate change. The organizing strategy through fishermen group can facilitate the activity of extension concerning technology application and improvement of social relation with other stakeholders. This study recommends the importance of cooperation between stakeholders to support the sustainability of fishermen’s fisheries businesses in facing the challenges of climate change by optimizing existing potential.

This article aimed to identify the inhibiting factors and the internationalisation strategy of higher education in Indonesia. The study deployed a qualitative based on the case study at Muhammadiyah Higher Education Institutions. Data collected through in-depth interviews with key respondents include the leader of Higher Education, Research and Development Council of Muhammadiyah, university chancellors, and International Affairs Office head. Findings illustrate the factors hindering the internationalisation which are generally not much different from those described by previous research but here found one factor which has not been explained before, the geographical location of the university, which mostly located in small urban areas that depicted a condition in which cooperation with external parties, foreign institutions, is challenging. The finding also suggests that the internationalisation strategies formed in a very structured manner, involving internal and external university parties. Therefore, this is significant as it explores inhibiting factors and internationalisation strategy of higher education in Indonesia, where it still prioritises religious and cultural values in their educational systems. Practically, this result expected to be a useful reference for university leaders in formulating internationalisation strategies so that the quality of graduates produced can be further improved.

Studies conducted on localization quality assessment (LQA) on video games from interdisciplinary perspectives, dominantly employ studies on media, demarcating it from their derivative concerns like environmental issues. We argue that LQA on video games requires reconstruction from eco-criticism perspectives, because electronic waste (E-waste) of video games has been a serious concern since the legalization of European Union 2003 on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment. Analysing the uplift in file size and extra power consumption exposed from purposively selected twenty game titles, this article proposes the possibilities to construct eco-criticism based LQA. Video game localization scholars and practitioners could benefit from the proposed LQA to appraise possible environmental issues emerging from the localization process.

Hyperglycaemia is one condition related to inflammation leading to insulin signalling impairment. This study was conducted to investigate the insulin sensitivity improvement of Sambiloto (Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.)) Nees extract in insulin resistance-induced HepG2 (IR-HepG2) cells by stimulating insulin sensitivities and inhibiting inflammatory response. Sambiloto extract at 2 µg/mL revealed glucose uptake stimulation and up-regulating GLUT-2 and IRS-1 gene expression, and inhibited pro-inflammatory cytokine IL-6 gene expression in IR-HepG2 cells. Phytochemical analysis showed that the total phenolic level and andrografolide content of Sambiloto extract were 2.91 ± 0.04% and 1.95%, respectively. This result indicated that Sambiloto extract ameliorated insulin resistance in high glucose-induced IR-HepG2 cells via modulating the IRS-1/GLUT-2 pathway due to IL-6 inhibition. These findings suggested that Sambiloto extract had potency as an anti-inflammatory and insulin-resistance improvement in IR-HepG2 cells. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Sustainable supply chains, evolving with supply chain 5.0 revolution, are crucial for achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) by balancing economic growth, environmental protection, and social responsibility. They help reduce environmental impacts, promote ethical labor practices, and ensure financial viability. Sustainable supply chains involve complex interactions and external influences. The system dynamics approach effectively captures these intricate interactions through feedback loops and non-linear relationships. This review seeks to identify issues in modeling sustainable supply chains using system dynamics and offer insights for developing sustainable, flexible, responsive, and resilient models. This paper reviews literature from 2020 to 2023 using thematic analysis. It examines dynamics, behaviors, management, sustainability strategies, decisionmaking, and future directions for sustainable supply chain modeling. The findings suggest that a comprehensive framework can enhance management practices, support policymaking, and promote sustainability. Integrated risk management is essential for resilient, adaptable supply chains, while financial viability and scalability are essential for the widespread adoption of sustainability practices. Understanding the roles of various actors and integrating supply chain components can improve support systems, and exploring green energy, technology adoption, and consumer behavior can advance sustainability goals. This research identifies risk sources, identifies risk factors, identifies the level of danger, identifies the level of vulnerability, identifies the level of capacity and determines risk priorities. Data collection was carried out through interviews and filling out questionnaires by resource persons involved in property development in the tourism area of Nusa Dua Resort ITDC Bali Province. The results showed that the risk factors that receive priority to be continuously mitigated and monitored are: interest rate and inflation risk, design risk, land maturation risk, and development financing risk. The level of risk in the development of the Nusa Dua Resort area is in the acceptable category so that it is feasible to build. The risk management process in this research can be applied to property development projects to help interested parties make investment decisions.

Background: Production systems often face challenges that impact efficiency, productivity, and overall performance. Various approaches and techniques are employed to address these issues. This study examines the practical application of process mining and simulation modeling to resolve problems in production systems, with a focus on optimizing the event log data recorded by computer-assisted production processes. Process mining analyzes this data to reveal actual workflows, while simulation modeling explores design alternatives and predicts future performance issues. This study provides a comprehensive review of process mining and simulation modeling integration, offering insights into how these methods improve system performance in production environments. Methods: This research implements bibliometric analysis and a systematic literature review based on a systematic mapping approach. In accordance with PRISMA guidelines and the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 59 articles were deemed eligible for bibliometric analysis, with 53 selected for the literature review. Results: Bibliometric analysis indicates that current publication trends focus on simulation, particularly discrete event simulation, with an emphasis on production systems, simulation models, and production control. The literature review reveals that process mining and simulation modeling address various issues, including system flexibility and reliability, data compatibility and synchronization, product quality monitoring, asset maintenance, cycle time prediction, resource bottleneck management, capacity allocation, productivity, machine downtime, process design, waste utilization, carbon emission prediction, and energy efficiency. Discrete event simulation is the most commonly used approach in process mining for production systems. Existing research in this area often addresses problems with limited improvement potential rather than large-scale challenges, particularly in process investigation, digital process modeling, validation and verification, production operation optimization, predictive analysis, assessment and management, continuous enhancement, and decision support. Conclusions: Integrating process mining with simulation modeling helps production systems tackle operational challenges, optimize performance, and improve decision-making. Carbon dots (CDs) are novel carbon‐based luminescent materials with wide‐ranging applications in biosensing, bioimaging, drug transportation, optical devices, and beyond. Their advantageous attributes, including biocompatibility, biodegradability, antioxidant activity, photostability, small particle size (<10 nm), and strong light absorption and excitation across a broad range of wavelengths, making them promising candidates in the field of photodynamic therapy (PDT) as photosensitizers (PSs). Further enhancements in functionality are imperative to enhance the effectiveness of CDs in PDT applications, notwithstanding their inherent benefits. Recently, doping agents and solvents have been demonstrated to improve CDs' optical properties, solubility, cytotoxicity, and organelle targeting efficiency. These improvements result from modifications to the CDs' carbon skeleton matrices, functional groups on the surface state, and chemical structures. This review discusses the modification of CDs with heteroatom dopants, dye dopants, and solvents to improve their physicochemical and optical properties for PDT applications. The correlations between the surface chemistry, functional groups, the structure of the CDs, and their optical characteristics toward quantum yield, redshift feature, and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation, have also been discussed. Objective: The objective of this study was to investigate the effectiveness and safety of seahorse (Hippocampus comes L.) extract on hematological profile and body weight on rats induced by depo medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA). Materials and Methods: Thirty adult male Sprague-Dawley rats with 200-250 gm and 8 weeks old. All rats were intramuscularly administered 1.25 mg/kg BW DMPA Merck Depo Geston at 150 mg/3 ml. The animals were divided into five main groups (6 each), consisting of aquadest (G1), CMC 1% (G2), seahorse extract (SE) dose 150 mg/kg BW (G3), 225 mg/kg BW (G4), and 300 mg/kg BW (G5). All rats were weighed until the end of the treatment week. Results: The hematological profile and body weight of the group given SE tended to increase compared to the group not given extract; however, our hematological profile and body weight were in the normal range for rats. Conclusion: We find that SE enhances the effectiveness of the hematological profile, body weight, and safety of rats induced by DMPA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The availability of breadfruit is abundant in the village of Meteseh in RW. X Tembalang District, Semarang City. BAROKAH farmers group develops breadfruit chip business. This group of farmers utilizes the abundantly available breadfruit fruit in the Meteseh area to make breadfruit chips. BAROKAH has problems in terms of limited equipment to support product manufacturing, and limited knowledge and skills in the processing and diversification of breadfruit preparations. The purpose of this activity is to develop a business through diversification of BAROKAH breadfruit processed products so that this business and all the people involved are able to become economically independent communities. It also improved product quality, creative and innovative skills, skills in using appropriate technology in the cutting, draining, and packaging of breadfruit processed products. The method used is to improve product quality, creative and innovative skills through the use of appropriate technology in the cutting, draining, and packaging of processed breadfruit products. In addition, diversification of breadfruit processed products was also developed. The results show that the application of appropriate technology has been able to increase the capacity of chopping, and the durability of processed products from breadfruit. In addition, the quality of processed breadfruit products has increased.

Cultural heritage is passed down from generation to generation, continually being re-created by various groups in response to their environment. People’s interactions with their natural surroundings give meaning to identity and sustainability. The role of culture (local wisdom) is very important in establishing social entrepreneurial relations. Several activities have been implemented to improve the local economy of the Gentungan Village community through the development of an organic tourism village by synergizing the creative economy with tourism. This study aims to determine local wisdom and social entrepreneurship as the basis for the development of organic tourism villages in Karanganyar district. The research method is qualitative with a phenomenological approach. The research location is Gentungan Village, Mojogedang District, Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The results of the study show that the development of organic tourism villages based on local wisdom and social entrepreneurship is proven to have the ability to empower local communities. The management of the organic tourism village “Embung Setumpeng”, with the concept of a sustainable organic tourism village, is proven to be capable of optimizing local potential. This is due to the synergy between the local institutions that are present in the management of the tourism village.

The local wisdom of banana farmers in building sociocultural empowerment is a response to the challenges of globalization and climate change. Integrating tradition with modernization will achieve sustainability, a strong local identity, and community welfare. The revitalization of local wisdom in building socio-cultural empowerment is an important step in preserving traditional cultural heritage, strengthening local identity, and improving the welfare of agrarian communities. This article discusses the mechanism for the revitalization of the local wisdom of banana farmers in building sociocultural empowerment. A qualitative research method is used with a phenomenological approach. The research was conducted in the banana development center in Karanganyar Regency, Central Java. The research results show that the revitalization of the local wisdom of banana farmers in Karanganyar Regency in building sociocultural empowerment is implemented through a mechanism of, (1) education and training of the young generation; (2) development of communities and networking; (3) empowerment of farmers. By understanding how the local wisdom of farmers integrates tradition with modern innovations, the community can build strong sociocultural empowerment; withstand climate change; maintain sustainability of the farming culture; and improve the life quality of the community. Research examining the localization quality assessment (LQA) of video games from interdisciplinary viewpoints predominantly focuses on media studies, often neglecting related concerns like environmental considerations. We contend that eco-critical perspective methods of qualitative analysis should be mandatory in LQA of video games due to the tremendous growth of e-waste that games are causing. The provisions of the European Union directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) should be of great concern because the directive promotes the conservation of natural resources and the other aspects. Through an analysis of the increased file size and additional power consumption associated with a purposively selected sample of twenty video game titles, this article proposes the potential for developing LQA framework informed by ecocriticism. Researchers and practitioners within video game localization stand to benefit from such approach, as it enables them to determine to what extent the ecological factors are affected during localization.. Post-resection intussusception is extremely rare, and the diagnosis is often missed because the symptoms are atypical. Intussusception symptoms after intestinal resection are due to the influence of several factors and medications. We present a case report of a 6-month-old boy with a rare retrograde intussusception after resection of Meckel diverticulitis, underwent relaparotomy-manual reduction, and was released from the hospital in good health. The postoperative small bowel resection needs to be closely observed for the possibility of intussusception. Signs of upper intestinal obstruction, bilious vomiting, inability to flatus, and loose stools are found. Sonograms and CT scans have high accuracy in post-bowel resection intussusception. Adhesions, altered anatomy, and bowel narrowing due to anastomosis are crucial factors that impair motility after resection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
