This article discusses the role of Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) Tbk. Area Lahedong in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program for the conservation of Yaki (Macaca nigra) in Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. The Yaki is endemic to North Sulawesi and is included in the Critically Endangered category on the red list of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN). Every company has the obligation to carry corporate social and responsibility (CSR) in its operational area as has been regulated in the act of Corporation (PT) No. 40/2007. Throughout these years the company CSR programme often just aimed at people but often forgot that the surrounding environment also needed attention. Biodiversity conservation becomes crucial as it will give a positive impact to the sustainability of human life in the present as well as in the future. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method where data collection is carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. The selection of informants was determined by purposive sampling. PGE Tbk. Area Lahedong is collaborating with the Yayasan Masarang and the Tasikoki Wildlife Rescue Center to carry out this conservation activity. The program will be implemented from 2020 until the release of 8 Yaki in 2023 and will continue again for the conservation of other Yaki groups. PGE Tbk. The Lahendong area has a role to accommodate activities during this program. Through this program, in addition to having an impact on increasing the Yaki population in their habitat, it can also become a media campaign for Yaki conservation to the public that Yaki are not food and must be preserved together as endemic animals to North Sulawesi.

Ruang terbuka public yang baik adalah ruang terbuka public yang bias menampung semua aktifitas yang dibutuhkan oleh orang – orang, baik yang bersifat personal maupun kelompok. Ruang terbuka publik yang berhasil dapat diukur oleh beberapa kriteria keberhasilan (pps.org). Kriteria tersebut diantaranya dapat mudah diakses, interaktif, bermanfaat, dan nyaman. Kriteria – kriteria tersebut harus memenuhi kebutuhan manusia, termasuk orang-orang disabilitas. Bagi orang-orang disabilitas, desain universal menjadi salah satu konsep perancangan yang sesuai untuk memenuhi semua kebutuhan manusia. Desain universal mengacu pada spectrum ide yang cukup luas, bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bangunan, produk dan lingkungan yang secara umum dapat dimanfaatkan oleh semua orang tanpa batasan. Di area perkotaan, desain universal merupakan sesuatu hal yang relatif baru, oleh sebab itu penerapan desain universal di area perkotaan perlu dievaluasi, terutama pada ruang terbuka publik sebagai salah satu elemen perkotaan. Berdasarkan Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO World Report, 2011), jumlah orang disabilitas di dunia mencapai lebih dari 1 miliar, dan mereka harus memiliki keadilan sosial dan kesetaraan di ruang kota. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti ingin mengevaluasi ruang terbuka publik yang ada dengan menggunakan metode evaluasi pasca huni menuju prinsip-prinsip desain yang sesuai dan universal dalam praktek desain perkotaan. Tujuan dari evaluasi ini adalah untuk menemukan kekurangan dalam proses desain ruang terbuka publik. Ruang terbuka publik tepi laut dipilih sebagai area penelitian karena memberikan dampak sosial dan ekonomi yang cukup signifikan bagi kawasan perkotaan.

Swirl turbulent flow is intensively used by the industrial equipments such as combustion, separation and heat transfer equipments. The fluid dynamic characteristics of this flow are influenced by the chamber’s geometries and the operating conditions. One of the important operating condition variables which greatly affects the fluid dynamic characteristics is initial tangential intensity (ITI) or often known as swirl number. This study is aimed to quantify the effect of the initial tangential intensity on the fluid dynamic characteristics in a tangential burner. The method of the study is based on the computational fluid dynamic simulation under the Ansys Fluent CFD engine. The fluid dynamic characteristics were modeled using the standard k-ε turbulent model. The simulation results exhibited that the three dimensional flow structure in a tangential burner is dominated by the tangential flow. The fluid dynamic simulations also showed that the effect of the ITI on the mean turbulence intensity and the mean residence time begin to be significant at the ITI values ≥ 1.1 and ≥ 4.5 respectively, while at low ITI values, its effects on both variables are insignificant. The lowest pressure drop obtained in this study was found on the burner with ITI value of 3.2.

The Eighth Asian National Control Laboratory (NCL) Network meeting, entitled "Biological Products Quality Control and Self-Sufficiency Strategy focusing on plasma-derived medicinal products (PDMPs)" was held in Seoul on 31 August 2023. The participants were NCL experts from Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, and the Republic of Korea. Special lectures included the PDMPs self-sufficiency strategies of the World Health Organization (WHO) and Indonesian Food and Drug Authority, and a case study on Global Benchmarking Tool (GBT) assessment for vaccines by the Korea Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. The NCL delegates shared their current experiences with national lot releases and biological standardisation. The meeting contributed to a mutual understanding of the progress of the PDMPs self-sufficiency among Asian countries, the WHO's support strategies, and the NCL's plan for the preparation of the WHO GBT assessment. In the panel discussion, all participants agreed that building capacity in blood safety in the Asian region and harmonisation of relevant international regulatory requirements will support appropriate emergency preparedness, particularly source materials in the region, and will build the foundation for resolving the PDMPs supply insecurity that has worsened after the COVID-19 pandemic in some countries., (Copyright © 2024.
