The second of three books depicting California through art. Here, Vischer's photographed drawings feature native Californian trees. Roughly three-quarters of the images here may also be found in Visher's Pictorial of California. The book consists of albumen photographs mounted on paper and pasted onto individual pages.

Book contains drawings photographed by Edward Vischer documenting the Washoe mining region. Images include depictions of landscapes, buildings and rural life. The book also includes exterior and interior views of the Could & Curry Silver Mining Company (tunnels, engine room, battery room, amalgamation, distribution, etc.). The book ends with photos of the region, presumably from atop Mount Davidson.
