In this work, the authors considered the periodic optimal control problem of Fitzhugh-Nagumo equation. They firstly prove the existence of time-periodic solution to Fitzhugh-Nagumo equation. Then they show the existence of optimal solution to the optimal control problem, and finally the first order necessary condition is obtained by constructing an appropriate penalty function.

Our previous studies have shown that the Adipose‐derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs) can regulate metastasis and development of ovarian cancer. Quantitative ultrasound (QUS) is a promising screening method for osteoporosis. In this study, a new method to improve the diagnostic accuracy of QUS was established in which a multichannel convolutional neural network (MCNN) processes the raw radiofrequency (RF) signal of QUS. The improvement in the diagnostic accuracy of osteoporosis using this new method was evaluated by comparison with the conventional speed of sound (SOS) method. Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry was used as the diagnostic standard. After being trained, validated and tested in a data set consisting of 274 participants, the MCNN model could significantly raise the accuracy of osteoporosis diagnosis compared with the SOS method. The adjusted MCNN model performed even better when adjusted by age, height and weight data. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of the adjusted MCNN method for osteoporosis diagnosis were 80.86%, 84.23% and 83.05%, respectively; the corresponding values for SOS were 50.60%, 73.68% and 66.67%. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve of the adjusted MCNN method was also higher than that of SOS (0.846 vs. 0.679). In conclusion, our study indicates that the MCNN method may be more accurate than the conventional SOS method. The MCNN tool and ultrasound RF signal analysis are promising future developmental directions for QUS in screening for osteoporosis.

Aims Doxorubicin (DOX), a widely used powerful chemotherapeutic component for cancer treatment, can give rise to severe cardiotoxicity that limits its clinical use. Pyroptosis is characterized by proinflammation and has been defined as a new type of programmed cell death in recent years. However, whether the DOX-induced cardiotoxicity is related to pyroptosis, and if so, which genes are involved in this process is largely unknown. In this study, we sought to identify the effect of DOX on cardiomyocyte pyroptosis and further reveal the underlying regulatory mechanism. Methods and results In vitro and in vivo experiments showed that DOX treatment induced cardiomyocyte pyroptosis as evidenced by increased cell death and upregulated expression levels of NLR family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3), caspase-3, IL-1β, IL-18 and GMDSD-N. Inhibition of NLRP3 rescued the DOX-induced pyroptosis. qRT-PCR showed that TINCR lncRNA was upregulated by DOX treatment and knockdown of TINCR reversed the DOX-induced pyroptosis both in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistic investigations revealed that TINCR increased NLRP3 level via recruiting IGF2BP1 to enhance NLRP3 mRNA. And the effect of TINCR on cardiomyocyte pyroptosis was attenuated by the inhibition of NLRP3 or IGF2BP1. Finally, TINCR was not involved in DOX-induced pyroptosis in cancer cells. Conclusion TINCR mediates the DOX-induced cardiotoxicity and pyroptosis in an IGF2BP1-dependent manner. Therefore, TINCR may serve as a promising therapeutic target to overcome the cardiotoxicity of chemotherapy for cancer therapy.

Second-order nonlinear multi-agent system whose agents could be divided into multiple subgroups is considered in this paper. In order to avoid congestion, lag group consensus of the considered system is investigated via adaptive protocol. Without constraint on the topology of the system, sufficient conditions for the lag group consensus are proposed analytically. Finally, the efficiency of the proposed methodology is illustrated by numerical simulation.

Background Acute abdominal pain is a common complaint of patients presenting at the emergency department (ED). It can be caused by a broad spectrum of diseases. Providing care for patients with acute abdominal pain requires familiarity with the epidemiology, prevalence, and presentation of abdominal pathology, as well as a working knowledge of the differential diagnoses. Case report In this article, we discuss a case of spontaneous rupture of adrenal hemangioma with large retroperitoneal hemorrhage in a 31-year-old female. Discussion Emergency physicians regularly encounter uncommon causes of abdominal pain. Spontaneous rupture of adrenal hemangioma is an extremely rare cause of abdominal pain, but proper understanding of the disease process will aid clinicians to make a final diagnosis and ensure appropriate treatment. In this study, presentations and risk factors for spontaneous, atraumatic rupture of adrenal hemangioma as well as ED management and definitive treatment options are discussed.

In this article, morphology, structure and size controllable chitosan microspheres with high mechanical strength were synthesized by microfluidic technology combining chemical crosslinking and used as an adsorbent for methyl orange. The synthesized adsorbents were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and an Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). The effect of pH revealed that the adsorption process depended on pH and the pH variation of methyl orange solution after adsorption indicated that adsorption capacity was affected through the associated role of chitosan nature and pH variation. Experimental results suggested that the as-prepared chitosan microspheres were controlled within a narrow size distribution (coefficients of variation is 1.81%), whose adsorption capacity reached to 207 mg·g− 1 and mechanical strength was suitable to resist forces. In addition, the adsorption isotherm was well fitted with the Langmuir model, and the adsorption kinetic was best described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The high performance microfluidic-synthesized chitosan microspheres have promising potentials in the applications of removing dyes from wastewater.

A microsphere biosorbent with uniform size (CV = 1.52%), controllable morphology and component, and high mechanical strength was synthesized from chitosan by microfluidic technology combining with chemical crosslinking and solvent extraction. This chitosan microsphere (CS-MS) was prepared with a two-step solidification process, which was acquired by drying for the enhancement of mechanical property in final. The adsorption behavior of CS-MS towards copper (II) and main influencing factors on adsorption performance were investigated by batch experiments. Kinetic data hig-hlighted dominant chemical bonding along with electrons transferring in adsorption process. Isothermal analysis indicated that adsorption capacity was relevant to the number of active site. All these explorations provided a new direction for preparing highly comprehensive performance sorbent used in heavy metal treatment via microfluidic technology.

A crosslinked carboxymethyl chitosan hydrogel (CCMCH) and resin (CCMCR) are prepared via the cross-linking of glutaraldehyde. The adsorption behavior and mechanism of CCMCH and CCMCR are studied for the removal Co(II) from wastewater and their differences have been studied. The results indicate that their adsorption occurs mainly by chemical adsorption mechanism. However, the Co(II) adsorption process on CCMCH is accompanied by physical adsorption. The maximum adsorption capacities for Co(II) uptake are 72.84 and 60.03 mg g−1 for CCMCH and CCMCR, respectively, under optimized conditions. The adsorption of Co(II) on CCMCH and CCMCR are both well fitted by the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo-second-order model. Also, the data of the adsorption kinetics for Co(II) on CCMCH follows the pseudo-first-order model. Analyses from FTIR and supplemental experiments confirm that the functional groups, including amino, hydroxyl, and carboxyl groups, are involved in the adsorption process.

New Sr, Nd, and Pb isotopic data of seven basalt samples from the middle Mariana Trough were analysed together with existing geochemical data of basalts from the middle Mariana Trough (MMT), the northern Mariana Trough (NMT), the middle Okinawa Trough (MOT), and the southern Okinawa Trough (SOT). Basalts from the Mariana and Okinawa troughs have similarities to island arc lavas and are enriched in large ion lithophile elements but depleted in high field strength elements compared with normal mid-ocean ridge basalt (N-MORB). The Sr, Nd, and Pb isotopic compositions of the back-arc basin basalts maybe modelled by a mixing between end-member components of N-MORB-like mantle and enriched mantle end-member. Modelling results suggest that as the degree of back-arc extension increases, the proportion of subduction components in the source magma decreases. The compositions of SOT basalts can be explained by the mixing of subduction components in the proportion 16%, followed by MOT at 14%, NMT at 7%, and MMT at 4%. This result indicates that the contribution of subduction components to the composition of source magmas for back-arc basalts is closely related to the tectonic evolution of the entire back-arc system. The proportions of subduction components in basaltic magma sources can be used as an indicator of the extent of evolution of a back-arc basin or the development of a back-arc spreading system. This paper mainly discusses the asymptotic behaviors on the minimizers of convex processes. In view of the convexity argument, it is proved that the minimizers of convex processes with parameterized objective functions satisfy the functional moderate deviation principle. As some applications, the estimators in two basic models (threshold regression models and stochastic dynamical systems) are studied. In particular, the exponential convergence principles on the estimators converging to true parameters are proved.

This paper presents a new S-Box design algorithm of hidden hyperchaos in a 5-D hyperchaotic Burke-Shaw system, which is obtained by adding feedback controllers to the classic Burke-Shaw system. Of particular interest is that the hidden hyperchaotic attractors can be generated with three positive Lyapunov exponents in the proposed system with only one stable equilibrium. In addition, a new Pseudo Random Number Generator (PRNG) is developed by using the new 5-D Burke-Shaw system. Then, the S-Box design algorithm is developed based on the new PRNG. Furthermore, generated bit series have passed all NIST tests, which are run on bit series from the new PRNG. According to performance analysis, generated S-Box has better value than the chaos-based S-Box on the literature. Finally, Fuzzy-PID controller design is discussed for 5-D Burke-Shaw system with hidden hyperchaos. These results show the effectiveness of controller.

Porous carboxymethyl chitosan (PCMC) beads were synthesized via ionic coacervation/chemical crosslinking, using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a porogen and calcium chloride and glutaraldehyde as physical and chemical cross-linkers. The as-synthesized PCMC beads were characterized using SEM, EDS, BET, TGA, FTIR and XPS analysis and then tested for the removal of Co(II) from aqueous solution. The effects of the initial pH, Co(II) concentration and temperature were investigated. It was found that the adsorption equilibrium is reached within 6 h and the maximum adsorption capacity is 46.25 mg g−1. In addition, the kinetics and equilibrium data are well described by pseudo-second-order kinetics and the Langmuir isotherm model. Moreover, the desorption and re-adsorption performance was also studied, and the results revealed that the prepared new adsorbent still showed good adsorption performance after five cycles of regeneration. Finally, the adsorption mechanism, including chemical and physical adsorption, was proposed on the basis of the microstructure analysis, adsorption kinetics and isotherm results, and chemical adsorption was found to be the main adsorption mechanism during the process of the removal of Co(II).

To summarize the treatment status of gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) in Shandong province,by analyzing the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors.Clinicopathological and follow-up data of 1 165 patients with gastric GIST between January 2000 and December 2013 from 23 tertiary referral hospitals in Shandong Province were collected to establish a database. The risk stratification of all cases was performed according to the National Institutes of Health(NIH) criteria proposed in 2008. Kaplan-Meier method was used to calculate the survival rate. Log-rank test and Cox regression model were used for univariate and multivariate prognostic analyses.Among 1 165 cases of gastric GIST, 557 were male and 608 were female. The median age of onset was 60 (range 15-89) years. Primary tumors were located in the gastric fundus and cardia in 623 cases(53.5%), gastric body in 346 cases(29.7%), gastric antrum in 196 cases(16.8%). All the cases underwent resection of tumors, including endoscopic resection (n=106), local resection (n=589), subtotal gastrectomy(n=399), and total gastrectomy(n=72). Based on the NIH risk stratification, there were 256 cases (22.0%) at very low risk, 435 (37.3%) at low risk, 251 cases (21.5%) at intermediate risk, and 223 cases (19.1%) at high risk. A total of 1 116 cases(95.8%) were followed up and the median follow-up period was 40 (range, 1-60) months. During the period, 337 patients relapsed and the median time to recurrence was 34 (range 1-60) months. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year survival rates were 98.6%, 86.1% and 73.4%, respectively. The 5-year survival rates of patients at very low, low, intermediate, and high risk were 93.1%, 85.8%, 63.0% and 42.3% respectively, with a statistically significant difference (P=0.000). Multivariate analysis showed that primary tumor site (RR=0.580, 95%CI:0.402-0.835), tumor size (RR=0.450, 95%CI:0.266-0.760), intraoperative tumor rupture(RR=0.557, 95%CI:0.336-0.924), risk classification (RR=0.309, 95%CI:0.164-0.580) and the use of imatinib after surgery (RR=1.993, 95%CI:1.350-2.922) were independent prognostic factors.The choice of surgical procedure for gastric GIST patients should be based on tumor size. All the routine procedures including endoscopic resection, local excision, subtotal gastrectomy and total gastrectomy can obtain satisfactory curative outcomes. NIH classification has a high value for the prediction of prognosis. Primary tumor site, tumor size, intraoperative tumor rupture, risk stratification and postoperative use of imatinib are independent prognostic factors in gastric GIST patients.

A one-pot three component 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of an aldehyde, α-aminomalonate, and nitroalkene has been developed through binaphthol derived chiral phosphoric acids. This reaction represents one of the most enantioselective catalytic approaches to access structurally diverse pyrrolidine derivatives.

In this paper, a memristor with structure of Ag/ PEDOT:PSS/ Ta was fabricated and measured at room temperature. The conductance of the device decreased continuously as the consecutive negative voltage scanning. But for positive voltage sweeping, the conductance value reduced initially then increased, which was quite different from previous reported experimental results. The relaxation phenomenon was observed under the consecutive voltage pulses, which can be used to achieve a synaptic learning behavior. It is found that the PEDOT:PSS layer was critical for the special characteristics.

Influence of argon (Ar) plasma pretreatment on polar and nonpolar GaN surface before the deposition of Al2O3 dielectric is investiged. The interface trap density (Dit) of polar (c-plane) GaN MOS capacitor with Ar plasma treatment is dramatically lower than that without plasma treatment. In contrast, the Dit of nonpolar (m-plane) GaN MOS capacitor with Ar plasma treatment is higher than that without plasma treatment, indicating that the polar and nonpolar GaN have differenent surface charges and chemical states.

In this paper, a memristor with structure of Cu/ PEDOT:PSS/ Ta was fabricated at room temperature. The conductance could be modulated incrementally by pulse sequences. The amplitude, width, frequency and quantity of the pulse sequence play important roles in conductance variation, which is similar to the weight of synapses. Several important synaptic learning behaviors such as short-term potentiation (STP), long-term potentiation (LTP) and spike-timing dependent plasticity (STDP) were emulated by this memristor, respectively. It is found that the movement of Cu ions is critical for this device.

In view of the optimal weighting fusion for mean of multi-sensor observation data which needs to obtain accurately observation variance of each sensor and the distribution of weights which has a significant effect on the results of fusion, a method of weighted fusion is proposed which estimates the variance in real time and allocates weights dynamically. In order to improve the accuracy of optimal dynamic weighted fusion, a new method of sequential optimal dynamic weighted fusion is proposed. Comparative analysis shows that the accuracy of sequential optimal dynamic weighted fusion is one times higher than that of the optimal dynamic weighted fusion. As an example, we studied the monitoring data of landslide with the method of sequential optimal dynamic weighted fusion, results shows that this method is not only feasible in theory but also more effective than the method of optimal dynamic weighted fusion in practical applications.

The study of karst collapses is still in macroscopic and qualitative level right now.The PLS Path Model adopts the iteration solution of monogenesis or multivariant linear regression,does not need to hypothesize the probability distribution of observation variables.In this model the requirement of sample point capacitance is very loose,and the problem that the model can not be recognized does not exist,so it is an effective linearity statistics modeling method.In this paper,based on the analysis of the influence factors for karst collapses in Wuhan and GIS technique,the PLS Path Modle is used to forecast the hazard potentiality of karst collapse in Wuhan city with a good results.It is found that the application of this model could get good effictiveness and this model should be adopted widely.
