The tension accuracy is an important index to evaluate the performance of gravure printing machines. However, the tension system of gravure printing machines has the characteristics of strong coupling, multi interference and nonlinearity, which makes the tension control very difficult and limits the tension accuracy of gravure printing machines. Therefore, a decoupling controller based on active disturbance rejection control (ADRC) is proposed to solve the problem of tension control for rewinding tension system of gravure printing machines. Firstly, the nonlinear coupling model of double-span rewinding tension system is established and decoupled. Secondly, according to the decoupling model, a decoupling controller is designed based on ADRC. Finally, the experiment results show that the ADRC decoupling controller is able to realize a high precision control for the rewinding tension system
