Abstract Aims To detect the expression of autophagy components, p38 MAPK (p38) and phosphorylated forkhead box transcription factor O-1 (pFoxO1) in pulmonary vascular endothelial cells of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) rats and to investigate the possible mechanism through which tissue factor (TF) regulates autophagy. Methods Pulmonary artery endothelial cells (PAECs) were isolated from CTEPH (CTEPH group) and healthy rats (control group (ctrl group)) which were cocultured with TF at different time points including 12 h, 24 h, 48 h and doses including 0 nM,10 nM, 100 nM, 1µM, 10µM, 100µM and cocultured with TFPI at 48 h including 0 nM, 2.5 nM, 5 nM. The expression of forkhead box transcription factor O-1 (FoxO1), pFoxO1, p38, Beclin-1 and LC3B in PAECs was measured. Coimmunoprecipitation (co-IP) assays were used to detect the interaction between FoxO1 and LC3. Abstract Regular screening for cervical cancer is one of the best tools to reduce cancer incidence. Automated cell segmentation in screening is an essential task because it can present better understanding of the characteristics of cervical cells. The main challenge of cell cytoplasm segmentation is that many boundaries in cell clumps are extremely difficult to be identified. This paper proposes a new convolutional neural network based on Mask RCNN and PointRend module, to segment overlapping cervical cells. The PointRend head concatenates fine grained features and coarse features extracted from different feature maps to fine-tune the candidate boundary pixels of cell cytoplasm, which are crucial for precise cell segmentation. The proposed model achieves a 0.97 DSC (Dice Similarity Coefficient), 0.96 TPRp (Pixelwise True Positive Rate), 0.007 FPRp (Pixelwise False Positive Rate) and 0.006 FNRo (Object False Negative Rate) on dataset from ISBI2014. Specially, the proposed method outperforms state-of-the-art result by about $$3\%$$ 3 % on DSC, $$1\%$$ 1 % on TPRp and $$1.4\%$$ 1.4 % on FNRo respectively. The performance metrics of our model on dataset from ISBI2015 are slight better than the average value of other approaches. Those results indicate that the proposed method could be effective in cytological analysis and then help experts correctly discover cervical cell lesions

Rabies virus (RABV) causes a fatal neurological disease, consisting of unsegmented negative-strand RNA, which encodes five structural proteins (3′-N-P-M-G-L-5′). Apolipoprotein D (ApoD), a lipocalin, is upregulated in the nervous system after injury or pathological changes. Few studies have focused on the role of ApoD during virus infection so far. This study demonstrated that ApoD is upregulated in the mouse brain (in vivo) and C8-D1A cells (in vitro) after RABV infection. By upregulating ApoD expression in C8-D1A cells, we found that ApoD facilitated RABV replication. Additionally, Co-immunoprecipitation demonstrated that ApoD interacted with RABV glycoprotein (G protein). The interaction could promote RABV replication by upregulating the cholesterol level. These findings revealed a novel role of ApoD in promoting RABV replication and provided a potential therapeutic target for rabies.

Abstract Prostate cancer (PCa) is an extensive heterogeneous disease with a complex cellular ecosystem in the tumor microenvironment (TME). However, the manner in which heterogeneity is shaped by tumors and stromal cells, or vice versa, remains poorly understood. In this study, single‐cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, and bulk ATAC‐sequence are integrated from a series of patients with PCa and healthy controls. A stemness subset of club cells marked with SOX9highARlow expression is identified, which is markedly enriched after neoadjuvant androgen‐deprivation therapy (ADT). Furthermore, a subset of CD8+CXCR6+ T cells that function as effector T cells is markedly reduced in patients with malignant PCa. For spatial transcriptome analysis, machine learning and computational intelligence are comprehensively utilized to identify the cellular diversity of prostate cancer cells and cell‐cell communication in situ. Macrophage and neutrophil state transitions along the trajectory of cancer progression are also examined. Finally, the immunosuppressive microenvironment in advanced PCa is found to be associated with the infiltration of regulatory T cells (Tregs), potentially induced by an FAP+ fibroblast subset. In summary, the cellular heterogeneity is delineated in the stage‐specific PCa microenvironment at single‐cell resolution, uncovering their reciprocal crosstalk with disease progression, which can be helpful in promoting PCa diagnosis and therapy.

In order to understand the release law of heavy metals in coal gangue with different lithology in Xinjiang and prevent and resolve the environmental risks caused by heavy metals. In this paper, the roof and floor coal gangue of Piliqing mining area and Wucaiwan mining area were used to study the release law of V, Cr, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ba, Pb, Th and U heavy metals in the leaching process by X-ray diffraction, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The results show that: ① The mineral composition of coal gangue is mainly kaolinite and quartz. ② The contents of heavy metals Ni, Cu, Zn and Ba in sandstone and clay rock gangue in Xinjiang are high. The content of Ba in sandstone gangue is 416.05 μg/g, and the content of V in clay rock gangue is up to 247.02 μg/g. The content of most elements in coal gangue is high and the release of elements is large after leaching. ③ The adsorption of clay minerals is an important reason for the decrease of element release concentration of clay rock gangue in the later stage of leaching. ④ The ‘shrinking core model’ shows that the release of heavy metals from coal gangue with different lithology is the result of multi-factor coupling. The environmental effect evaluation of element leaching results shows that clay rock gangue is more harmful than sandstone gangue, and the cumulative effect of heavy metals caused by long-term and multi-period leaching is worthy of attention.

Abstract Vaccination is still the most promising strategy for combating influenza virus pandemics. However, the highly variable characteristics of influenza virus make it difficult to develop antibody-based universal vaccines, until now. Lung tissue-resident memory T cells (TRM), which actively survey tissues for signs of infection and react rapidly to eliminate infected cells without the need for a systemic immune reaction, have recently drawn increasing attention towards the development of a universal influenza vaccine. We previously designed a sequential immunization strategy based on orally administered Salmonella vectored vaccine candidates. To further improve our vaccine design, in this study, we used two different dendritic cell (DC)-targeting strategies, including a single chain variable fragment (scFv) targeting the surface marker DC-CD11c and DC targeting peptide 3 (DCpep3). Oral immunization with Salmonella harboring plasmid pYL230 (S230), which displayed scFv-CD11c on the bacterial surface, induced dramatic production of spleen effector memory T cells (TEM). On the other hand, intranasal boost immunization using purified DCpep3-decorated 3M2e-ferritin nanoparticles in mice orally immunized twice with S230 (S230inDC) significantly stimulated the differentiation of lung CD11b+ DCs, increased intracellular IL-17 production in lung CD4+ T cells and elevated chemokine production in lung sections, such as CXCL13 and CXCL15, as determined by RNAseq and qRT‒PCR assays, resulting in significantly increased percentages of lung TRMs, which could provide efficient protection against influenza virus challenge. The dual DC targeting strategy, together with the sequential immunization approach described in this study, provides us with a novel “prime and pull” strategy for addressing the production of protective TRM cells in vaccine design.

Accurate segmentation of infected regions in lung computed tomography (CT) images is essential for the detection and diagnosis of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, lung lesion segmentation has some challenges, such as obscure boundaries, low contrast and scattered infection areas. In this paper, the dilated multiresidual boundary guidance network (Dmbg-Net) is proposed for COVID-19 infection segmentation in CT images of the lungs. This method focuses on semantic relationship modelling and boundary detail guidance. First, to effectively minimize the loss of significant features, a dilated residual block is substituted for a convolutional operation, and dilated convolutions are employed to expand the receptive field of the convolution kernel. Second, an edge-attention guidance preservation block is designed to incorporate boundary guidance of low-level features into feature integration, which is conducive to extracting the boundaries of the region of interest. Third, the various depths of features are used to generate the final prediction, and the utilization of a progressive multi-scale supervision strategy facilitates enhanced representations and highly accurate saliency maps. The proposed method is used to analyze COVID-19 datasets, and the experimental results reveal that the proposed method has a Dice similarity coefficient of 85.6% and a sensitivity of 84.2%. Extensive experimental results and ablation studies have shown the effectiveness of Dmbg-Net. Therefore, the proposed method has a potential application in the detection, labeling and segmentation of other lesion areas.

In order to capture the complex dependencies between users and items in a recommender system and to alleviate the smoothing problem caused by the aggregation of multi-layer neighborhood information, a multi-behavior recommendation model (DNCLR) based on dual neural networks and contrast learning is proposed. In this paper, the complex dependencies between behaviors are divided into feature correlation and temporal correlation. First, we set up a personalized behavior vector for users and use a graph-convolution network to learn the features of users and items under different behaviors, and we then combine the features of self-attention mechanism to learn the correlation between behaviors. The multi-behavior interaction sequence of the user is input into the recurrent neural network, and the temporal correlation between the behaviors is captured by combining the attention mechanism. The contrast learning is introduced based on the double neural network. In the graph convolution network layer, the distances between users and similar users and between users and their preference items are shortened, and the distance between users and their short-term preference is shortened in the circular neural network layer. Finally, the personalized behavior vector is integrated into the prediction layer to obtain more accurate user, behavior and item characteristics. Compared with the sub-optimal model, the HR@10 on Yelp, ML20M and Tmall real datasets are improved by 2.5%, 0.3% and 4%, respectively. The experimental results show that the proposed model can effectively improve the recommendation accuracy compared with the existing methods.

In recent years, coal-type critical metal deposits have become a research hotspot in coal geology. As a major coal-accumulating basin in the Xinjiang area, the Turpan-Hami Basin contains abundant coal resources and has the potential to become a large coal-type critical metal deposit. However, previous studies on the enrichment characteristics of critical metal elements in coal are few and need further research. Based on SEM-EDS, XRF, and ICP-MS experiments, this study investigates the coal petrology, mineralogy, and geochemistry of the No. 22 coal of the Xishanyao Formation from the Dananhu Coal Mine, Xinjiang, to identify the sediment source, depositional environment, and controlling factors of the critical metal elements of the No. 22 coal. The results showed that the Dananhu coals are characterized by a low ash yield, low total sulfur content, high volatile yield, and high inertinite proportions. Quartz, kaolinite, and illite are the main minerals in the coal. Compared with the world’s low-rank coals, Ni, Co, Mo, and Ta are slightly enriched, Li, Rb, Cs, Ba, Tl, Bi, and Ge are depleted, and the concentrations of other trace elements are comparable to the average values of the world’s low-rank coals. The REY of the Dannanhu coals exhibited high fractionation, with its enrichment patterns characterized by the H-type and M-H-type. Although most of the critical metals are not enriched in the Dannanhu coals, the Ga, Zr (Hf), and Nb (Ta) concentrations in the coal ash of the Dannanhu coals have reached the economic cut-off grade and have the potential to be a substitute for rare metal resources. The terrigenous detrital sources of the Dannanhu coals mainly come from the Paleozoic dacite, andesite, and a small amount of granite from the Harik Mountain and Eastern Bogda Mountain in the Turpan-Hami Basin. The Dannanhu coals are generally in a dry and hot depositional environment, with high salinity and weak reduction-oxidation. The low source input and weak reduction-oxidation environment have resulted in low concentrations of critical metal of the No. 22 coal from the Dananhu Coal Mine.

Classical swine fever (CSF) is caused by the classical swine fever virus (CSFV), which poses a threat to swine production. The activation of host innate immunity through linker proteins such as tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNF-R)-associated factor (TRAF) is crucial for the induction of the NF-κB pathway. Recent research has revealed the involvement of mitochondrial antiviral-signaling protein (MAVS) in the interaction with TRAF2, 3, 5, and 6 to activate both the NF-κB and IRF3 pathways. This study revealed that CSFV infection led to the upregulation of TRAF1 mRNA and protein levels; moreover, TRAF1 overexpression inhibited CSFV replication, while TRAF1 knockdown promoted replication, highlighting its importance in the host response to CSFV infection. Additionally, the expression of RIG-I, MAVS, TRAF1, IRF1, and ISG15 were detected in PK-15 cells infected with CSFV, revealing that TRAF1 plays a role in regulating IRF1 and ISG15 within the RIG-I pathway. Furthermore, Co-IP, GST pull-down, and IFA analyses demonstrated that TRAF1 interacted with MAVS and co-localized in the cytoplasm during CSFV infection. Ultimately, TRAF1 acted as a novel member of the TRAF family, bound to MAVS as a linker molecule, and functioned as a mediator downstream of MAVS in the RIG-I/MAVS pathway against CSFV replication.

Abstract Problem Artificial intelligence has been widely investigated for diagnosis and treatment strategy design, with some models proposed for detecting oral pharyngeal, nasopharyngeal, or laryngeal carcinoma. However, no comprehensive model has been established for these regions. Aim Our hypothesis was that a common pattern in the cancerous appearance of these regions could be recognized and integrated into a single model, thus improving the efficacy of deep learning models. Methods We utilized a point-wise spatial attention network model to perform semantic segmentation in these regions. Results Our study demonstrated an excellent outcome, with an average mIoU of 86.3%, and an average pixel accuracy of 96.3%. Conclusion The research confirmed that the mucosa of oral pharyngeal, nasopharyngeal, and laryngeal regions may share a common appearance, including the appearance of tumors, which can be recognized by a single artificial intelligence model. Therefore, a deep learning model could be constructed to effectively recognize these tumors.

Hydrogen storage is a key link in hydrogen economy, where solid-state hydrogen storage is considered as the most promising approach because it can meet the requirement of high density and safety. Thereinto, magnesium-based materials (MgH2) are currently deemed as an attractive candidate due to the potentially high hydrogen storage density (7.6 wt%), however, the stable thermodynamics and slow kinetics limit the practical application. In this study, we design a ternary transition metal sulfide FeNi2S4 with a hollow balloon structure as a catalyst of MgH2 to address the above issues by constructing a MgH2/Mg2NiH4-MgS/Fe system. Notably, the dehydrogenation/hydrogenation of MgH2 has been significantly improved due to the synergistic catalysis of active species of Mg2Ni/Mg2NiH4, MgS and Fe originated from the MgH2-FeNi2S4 composite. The hydrogen absorption capacity of the MgH2-FeNi2S4 composite reaches to 4.02 wt% at 373 K for 1 h, a sharp contrast to the milled-MgH2 (0.67 wt%). In terms of dehydrogenation process, the initial dehydrogenation temperature of the composite is 80 K lower than that of the milled-MgH2, and the dehydrogenation activation energy decreases by 95.7 kJ·mol–1 compared with the milled-MgH2 (161.2 kJ·mol–1). This method provides a new strategy for improving the dehydrogenation/hydrogenation performance of the MgH2 material.

In order to solve the problem of timeliness of user and item interaction intention and the noise caused by heterogeneous information fusion, a recommendation model based on intention decomposition and heterogeneous information fusion (IDHIF) is proposed. First, the intention of the recently interacting items and the users of the recently interacting candidate items is decomposed, and the short feature representation of users and items is mined through long-short term memory and attention mechanism. Then, based on the method of heterogeneous information fusion, the interactive features of users and items are mined on the user-item interaction graph, the social features of users are mined on the social graph, and the content features of the item are mined on the knowledge graph. Different feature vectors are projected into the same feature space through heterogeneous information fusion, and the long feature representation of users and items is obtained through splicing and multi-layer perceptron. The final representation of users and items is obtained by combining short feature representation and long feature representation. Compared with the baseline model, the AUC on the Last.FM and Movielens-1M datasets increased by 1.83 and 4.03 percentage points, respectively, the F1 increased by 1.28 and 1.58 percentage points, and the Recall@20 increased by 3.96 and 2.90 percentage points. The model proposed in this paper can better model the features of users and items, thus enriching the vector representation of users and items, and improving the recommendation efficiency.

A thermoelectric generator (TEG) is one of the important energy harvesting sources for wearable electronic devices, which converts waste heat into electrical energy without any external stimuli, such as light or mechanical motion. However, the poor flexibility of traditional TEGs (e.g., Si-based TE devices) causes the limitations in practical applications. Flexible paper substrates are becoming increasingly attractive in wearable electronic technology owing to their usability, environmental friendliness (disposable, biodegradable, and renewable materials), and foldability. The high water-absorbing quality of paper restricts its scope of application due to water failure. Therefore, we propose a high-performance flexible waterproof paper-based thermoelectric generator (WPTEG). A modification method that infiltrates TE materials into cellulose paper through vacuum filtration is used to prepare the TE modules. By connecting the TE-modified paper with Al tape, as well as a superhydrophobic layer encapsulation, the WPTEG is fabricated. The WPTEG with three P–N modules can generate an output voltage of up to 235 mV at a temperature difference of 50 K, which can provide power to portable electronic devices such as diodes, clocks, and calculators in hot water. With the waterproof property, the WPTEG paves the way for achieving multi-scenario applications in humid environments on human skin.

This study investigated the differences and correlation between the occurrence characteristics of alkali and alkaline earth metals (AAEMs) among different maceral groups in high-alkali, high-inertinite coal, and provides scientific guidance for the co-separation of AAEMs and inertinite groups in Xinjiang coal. The total AAEMs of inertinite-enriched samples were significantly higher than those in raw coals and vitrinite-enriched samples. Five-step sequential extraction showed that Na mainly occurs as water-soluble sodium (Na-Water) in raw coal and inertinite-enriched samples, accounting for about 53% of the total content, while it exists as organic sodium (Na-NH4Cl and Na-EDTA) in vitrinite-enriched samples, accounting for about 52% of the total content. Ca and Mg are both mainly present in organic form (Ca/Mg-NH4Cl and Ca/Mg-EDTA) in all the samples, with slightly higher proportions present in vitrinite-enriched samples. The contents of K are low in all the samples, which exist in an insoluble state (K-I). Combined microscopy and SEM-EDS analyses have revealed that the localized enrichment of Na in raw coal and inertinite-enriched samples occurs in the inertinite cell cavity, which primarily exists as NaHCO3 combined with quartz crystals, with a maximum content of up to 5.85 wt%. In this study, although EDS spectra could not directly characterize organic Ca and Mg, dolomite and calcite minerals were repeatedly found in the inertinite cell cavity. Moreover, the contents of Ca and Mg in the vitrinite-enriched samples were significantly lower than those in the other samples, which suggests that Ca and Mg are enriched with the inertinite groups. The localized enrichment of AAEMs could not be detected in any of the vitrinite-enriched samples. In summary, though there are significant differences between the occurrence modes of AAEMs in different maceral groups of high-alkali coal, AAEMs have a strong affinity with inertinite, which may be due to the inertinite’s abundant pore structures.

The eastern Junggar Basin in Xinjiang harbors abundant coal resources within the Middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation. However, the formation environment associated with these coal-bearing strata remains unclear. Geochemical characteristics serve as crucial geological indicators of the sedimentary period. Therefore, it is imperative to explore the geochemical attributes and sedimentary context of the coal-rich layers within the Middle Jurassic Xishanyao Formation in the Zhundong region to enhance the prospects of coal extraction and utilization. The elemental compositions, both major and trace, of the Xishanyao Formation were analyzed through X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). A comprehensive analysis was conducted on the sediment provenance, tectonic background, and depositional environment of the coal-bearing strata in the Xishanyao Formation. Moreover, through the utilization of a range of discrimination indices, including Sr/Cu, B/Ga, Sr/Ba, V/Cr, Ni/Co, and δCe, the paleo-depositional setting of the coal-containing layers was reconstructed. The findings suggest that the primary source rocks of the coal-bearing beds in the Xishanyao Formation consist of continental tholeiites, with the predominant material composition in the source region being felsic volcanic rocks originating from the upper crust. The tectonic backdrop of the source region is marked by a continental island arc environment. During the sedimentation period of the Xishanyao Formation, the depositional environment was characterized by a freshwater oxidizing setting. Additionally, it experienced a transition from arid-hot to humid-hot before returning to arid-hot conditions.

IntroductionThe primary focus of this paper is to assess urban ecological environments by employing object detection on spatial-temporal data images within a city, in conjunction with other relevant information through data mining.MethodsFirstly, an improved YOLOv7 algorithm is applied to conduct object detection, particularly counting vehicles and pedestrians within the urban spatial-temporal data. Subsequently, the k-means superpixel segmentation algorithm is utilized to calculate vegetation coverage within the urban spatial-temporal data, allowing for the quantification of vegetation area. This approach involves the segmentation of vegetation areas based on color characteristics, providing the vegetation area’s measurements. Lastly, an ecological assessment of the current urban environment is conducted based on the gathered data on human and vehicle density, along with vegetation coverage.ResultsThe enhanced YOLOv7 algorithm employed in this study yields a one-percent improvement in mean AP (average precision) compared to the original YOLOv7 algorithm. Furthermore, the AP values for key categories of interest, namely, individuals and vehicles, have also improved in this ecological assessment.DiscussionSpecifically, the AP values for the ‘person’ and ‘pedestrian’ categories have increased by 13.9% and 9.3%, respectively, while ‘car’ and ‘van’ categories have seen AP improvements of 6.7% and 4.9%. The enhanced YOLOv7 algorithm contributes to more accurate data collection regarding individuals and vehicles in subsequent research. In the conclusion of this paper, we further validate the reliability of the urban environmental assessment results by employing the Recall-Precision curve.

The coal found in the Zhundong Coalfield is highly suitable for power generation and gasification. However, the high sodium content within the coal leads to severe boiler slagging and contamination. Additionally, sodium disperses into the gaseous phase to form haze, adversely affecting the local atmospheric environment. This study delved into the distribution and occurrence characteristics and enrichment causes of sodium in the coal, employing sequential extraction experiments and testing methods such as XRF, ICP-OES and SEM-EDS. The findings of this research indicate the following: (1) With the increasing burial depth of coal seams, there is a noticeable decrease in the sodium content within the coal. Sodium is primarily distributed within the coal seam, with higher concentrations observed in the upper portions of the same coal seam. Furthermore, the distribution of sodium within the epipedon, overlying rocks and coal seam also exhibits a decreasing trend. (2) Sodium primarily exists in a water-soluble state within coal seams, with H2O-Na accounting for over 70% of its composition. The ion-exchangeable sodium is higher than that in the roof, floor and gangue. Sodium exists in coal seams in both ionic and hydrated ionic forms. It is worth noting that the minerals within coal are not the primary carriers of sodium. (3) These coal seams were formed in a warm and humid shallow lake peat swamp environment, which is not significantly influenced by terrestrial or marine sources. The enrichment of sodium is primarily influenced by later hydrodynamic conditions.

Mineral matter, including minerals and non-mineral elements, in coal is of great significance for geological evolution, high-value coal utilization, and environment protection. The minerals and elemental geochemistry of Late Permian coals from the M8 coal seam, Shihao mine, Songzao coalfield in Chongqing, were analyzed to evaluate the sediment source, sedimentary environment, hydrothermal fluids, and utilization prospects of critical metals. The average total sulfur (4.21%) was high in coals, which mainly exists in the forms of pyritic sulfur. Kaolinite, pyrite, calcite, quartz, illite and illite/smectite (I/S) mixed layers, and anatase predominated in coals, with trace amounts of chlorite, ankerite, and siderite. Epigenetic cell- and fracture-filling pyrite, veined calcite, and ankerite were related to hydrothermal fluids and/or pore water after the diagenesis stage. Compared to the world’s hard coals, As and Cd are enriched in the Shihao M8 coals, and Li, Cr, Co, Zr, Mo, Pb, and Tb are slightly enriched. These high contents of sulfophile elements may be related to seawater intrusion. The terrigenous clastics of the Shihao M8 coals originated from the felsic–intermediate rocks atop the Emeishan Large Igneous Provinces (ELIP) (Kangdian Upland), while the roof and floor samples were derived from Emeishan high-Ti basalt. Through the combination of sulfur contents and indicator parameters of Fe2O3 + CaO + MgO/SiO2 + Al2O3, Sr/Ba and Y/Ho, the depositional environment of peat swamp was found to be influenced by seawater. Although the critical elements in coal or coal ash did not reach the cut-off grade for beneficial recovery, the concentration of Li and Zr were high enough in coal ash.

Hydrological connectivity is crucial for supporting aquatic biodiversity and serving ecosystem function in river floodplain wetlands. Although the effects of longitudinal connectivity in the composition of snail (Mollusca: Gastropoda) assemblages is well understood, the effects of lateral connectivity are less evaluated. Here, we evaluated the effects of lateral and longitudinal connectivity on multiple facets of alpha and beta diversity (i.e., taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic) of freshwater snails in 38 floodplain wetlands in the Da Xing'an Mountains of Northeast China. A total of 9,784 snails subjected to 5 orders, 14 families, 24 genera, and 42 species were collected. Overall, the snail alpha diversity was higher in the nearly isolated wetlands and downstream areas. Multivariate analyses revealed that the taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic structures of snail assemblages in floodplain wetlands differed significantly across the lateral and longitudinal gradients. Waterscape and climate variables appeared to equivalently explain a large proportion of variations in the taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic structures of snail assemblages. Lateral connectivity and river order were paramount variables that explain the greatest variation in taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic structures of the snail assemblages. Our study suggests that hydrological connectivity is a key factor controlling the multiple facets of snail diversity in floodplains. Attention should be paid to the effects of changing climate and waterscape on the multi-faceted diversity of snail assemblages. Due to the extant patterns in assemblage structures, floodplain restoration and management should consider the full spectrum of longitudinal and laterally connectedness to maximize aquatic biodiversity.

Rare earth dysprosium-doped Ba3Co2Fe24-xDyxO41 (x = 0.00, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08, 0.10) Z-type hexaferrites were successfully prepared by employing the sol–gel method. The effects of Dy doping on the crystal structure, morphology, magnetic properties at room temperature, high-frequency electromagnetic properties and electromagnetic wave absorption performance of Co2Z hexaferrite were studied in detail. The results show that with the increase in the rare earth Dy doping amount, the value of the saturation magnetization (Ms) also increases, and the value of the coercivity of the sample is approximately 15 Oe, indicating that it has excellent soft magnetic properties. The high-frequency magnetoelectric parameters were characterized. The material with x = 0.04 exhibits the best microwave absorption performance when the thickness is t = 3.4 mm, and the reflection loss is −64.21 dB. When x = 0.08, the effective absorption bandwidth (RL ≤ -10 dB) of the material is between 4.33 GHz and 10.48 GHz, reaching 6.15 GHz. Compared with multielement doping and multicomponent composite materials, the preparation method of the wave absorbing material is simple and facile. The material has potential application prospects in the field of microwave absorption in the GHz band.

Abstract Prostate cancer (PCa) is a malignant tumor that seriously threatens men’s health worldwide. Recently, stromal cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME) have been reported to contribute to the progression of PCa. However, the role and mechanism of how PCa cells interact with stromal cells to reshape the TME remain largely unknown. Here, using a spontaneous prostate adenocarcinoma (PRAD) model driven by the loss of Pten and Hic1, we found that M2 macrophages markedly infiltrated the stroma of Pten and Hic1 double conditional knockout (dCKO) mice compared with those in control (Ctrl) mice due to higher TGF-β levels secreted by HIC1-deleted PCa cells. Mechanistically, TGF-β in TME promoted the polarization of macrophages into “M2” status by activating the STAT3 pathway and modulating c-Myc to upregulate CXCR4 expression. Meanwhile, TGF-β activated the fibroblasts to form cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) that secrete higher CXCL12 levels, which bound to its cognate receptor CXCR4 on M2 macrophages. Upon interaction with CAFs, M2 macrophages secreted more CXCL5, which promoted the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) of PCa via CXCR2. Moreover, using the TGF-β receptor I antagonist, galunisertib, significantly inhibited the tumor growth and progression of the TRAMP-C1 cell line-derived subcutaneous tumor model. Finally, we confirmed that the stromal microenvironment was shaped by TGF-β in HIC1-deficient PCa and was associated with the progression of PCa.

ABSTRACT The influenza virus continues to pose a great threat to public health due to the frequent variations in RNA viruses. Vaccines targeting conserved epitopes, such as the extracellular domain of the transmembrane protein M2 (M2e), a nucleoprotein, and the stem region of hemagglutinin proteins, have been developed, but more efficient strategies, such as nanoparticle-based vaccines, are still urgently needed. However, the labor-intensive in vitro purification of nanoparticles is still necessary, which could hinder the application of nanoparticles in the veterinary field in the future. To overcome this limitation, we used regulated lysis Salmonella as an oral vector with which to deliver three copies of M2e (3M2e-H1N1)-ferritin nanoparticles in situ and evaluated the immune response. Then, sequential immunization using Salmonella-delivered nanoparticles followed by an intranasal boost with purified nanoparticles was performed to further improve the efficiency. Compared with 3M2e monomer administration, Salmonella-delivered in situ nanoparticles significantly increased the cellular immune response. Additionally, the results of sequential immunization showed that the intranasal boost with purified nanoparticles dramatically stimulated the activation of lung CD11b dendritic cells (DCs) and elevated the levels of effector memory T (TEM) cells in both spleen and lung tissues as well as those of CD4 and CD8 tissue-resident memory T (TRM) cells in the lungs. The increased production of mucosal IgG and IgA antibody titers was also observed, resulting in further improvements to protection against a virus challenge, compared with the pure oral immunization group. Salmonella-delivered in situ nanoparticles efficiently increased the cellular immune response, compared with the monomer, and sequential immunization further improved the systemic immune response, as shown by the activation of DCs, the production of TEM cells and TRM cells, and the mucosal immune response, thereby providing us with a novel strategy by which to apply nanoparticle-based vaccines in the future. IMPORTANCE Salmonella-delivered in situ nanoparticle platforms may provide novel nanoparticle vaccines for oral administration, which would be beneficial for veterinary applications. The combination of administering Salmonella-vectored, self-assembled nanoparticles and an intranasal boost with purified nanoparticles significantly increased the production of effector memory T cells and lung resident memory T cells, thereby providing partial protection against an influenza virus challenge. This novel strategy could open a novel avenue for the application of nanoparticle vaccines for veterinary purposes.

Abstract Distribution patterns of biodiversity and environmental interactions are dominant themes in ecology. In montane ecosystems, biodiversity is closely associated with altitudinal gradients. However, studies of biodiversity in montane ecosystems are focused on plants and vertebrates, with relatively less on invertebrates. Here, the present study used a Vortis arthropod suction sampler to explore the biodiversity patterns of soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida and their drivers along an altitudinal gradient (600, 800, 1600, 2000, and 2300 m) from typical temperate forests, evergreen coniferous forests, subalpine birch forests to alpine tundra on the north slope of Changbai Mountain, Northeast China. Trichoribates berlesei, Platynothrus peltifer, and Oribatula tibialis were the dominant soil surface‐dwelling species on Changbai Mountain. Generally, alpha diversity and beta diversity of soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida decreased with the rising altitude, with a peaking density value at 2000 m. The result of beta diversity showed that the structures of community were more influenced by the species turnover component than the nestedness component. Nonmetric multidimensional scaling (NMDS) ordination showed that the community structure of soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida varied significantly along the altitudinal gradient. The variance partitioning showed that the elevation and climatic conditions determined the soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida community. Spatial filtering represented by geographic and elevation distances was particularly associated with soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida community variation between altitudes on Changbai Mountain. However, the variation of the Oribatida community between adjacent altitudes was only associated with geographic distance. Our study provides supportive evidence for the biodiversity analyzing of soil surface‐dwelling Oribatida in montane ecosystems along an altitudinal gradient.

This study constructs a machine learning system to examine the predictors of soil salinity in deserts. We conclude that soil humidity and subterranean CO2 concentration are two leading controls of soil salinity—respectively explain 71.33%, 13.83% in the data. The (R2, root-mean-square error, RPD) values at the training stage, validation stage and testing stage are (0.9924, 0.0123, and 8.282), (0.9931, 0.0872, and 7.0918), (0.9826, 0.1079, and 6.0418), respectively. Based on the underlining mechanisms, we conjecture that subterranean CO2 sequestration could reduce salinization disaster in deserts.

Silicosis is a diffuse fibrotic lung disease in which excessive inflammatory responses are triggered by silica exposure. Pyroptosis, a pro-inflammatory mode of programmed cell death, is mediated by gasdermin and may play a pivotal role in the development of silicosis. The caspase-1 inhibitor, VX-765, was used in vivo and in vitro to investigate the effects of silica-induced early inflammatory injury and later lung fibrosis. Our findings show that VX-765 reduces inflammatory lung injury by inhibiting silica-induced pyroptosis of alveolar macrophages in a silicosis mouse model. VX-765 limits the infiltration of inflammatory M1 alveolar macrophages, decreasing expression of inflammatory cytokines, including IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, CCL2, and CCL3, and down-regulating endogenous DAMPs and inflammatory immune-related cell pattern recognition receptors TLR4 and NLRP3. Furthermore, VX-765 alleviates fibrosis by down-regulating α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), collagen, and fibronectin. In this study, we illustrate that Alveolar macrophages pyroptosis occur in the early stages of silicosis, and VX-765 can alleviate the development of silicosis by inhibiting the pyroptosis signaling pathway. These results may provide new insight into the prevention and treatment of early-stage silicosis.

Social recommender systems are expected to improve recommendation quality by incorporating social information when there is little user–item interaction data. Therefore, how to effectively fuse interaction information and social information becomes a hot research topic in social recommendation, and how to mine and exploit the heterogeneous information in the interaction and social space becomes the key to improving recommendation performance. In this paper, we propose a social recommendation model based on basic spatial mapping and bilateral generative adversarial networks (MBSGAN). First, we propose to map the base space to the interaction and social space, respectively, in order to overcome the issue of heterogeneous information fusion in two spaces. Then, we construct bilateral generative adversarial networks in both interaction space and social space. Specifically, two generators are used to select candidate samples that are most similar to user feature vectors, and two discriminators are adopted to distinguish candidate samples from high-quality positive and negative examples obtained from popularity sampling, so as to learn complex information in the two spaces. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed MBSGAN model is verified by comparing it with both eight social recommendation models and six models based on generative adversarial networks on four public datasets, Douban, FilmTrust, Ciao, and Epinions.

The occurrence and separation relationships of Na and maceral groups in Zhundong coals were investigated in this study. The sequential extraction results indicate that the total Na content of all samples decreased with increasing sampling depth, and the level in inertinite-enriched samples (inertinite content 81.0%–84.0%) was significantly higher than that in corresponding raw coals and vitrinite-enriched samples (vitrinite content 90%). Additionally, H2O-Na (soluble salt species) and insoluble Na (acid-insoluble residues) were found to be concentrated in the inertinite-enriched samples. In combined SEM–EDS and microscope observations, local Na enrichments were detected in all raw coal and inertinite-enriched samples except for the vitrinite-enriched samples, but only inertinite-enriched samples were found to generally have over 10 wt% of Na enrichments, all of which occurred as NaCl. Moreover, Na is mostly filled or associated with cell-filling minerals in cells of fusinite. The maceral separation and Na removal of Zhundong coal were simultaneously achieved using triboelectrostatic separation. The vitrinite content in concentrates increased up to 60%, along with a reduced Na level, while the inertinite and sodium levels were both evidently raised in tailings. The obvious positive occurrence and separation correlation between sodium and inertinite offers new insight into, and a technical reference for, the sodium removal and maceral processing of Zhundong coal.

Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) urgently need to realize vehicle identification, dynamic monitoring, and traffic flow monitoring under high-speed motion conditions. Vehicle tracking based on radio frequency identification (RFID) and electronic vehicle identification (EVI) can obtain continuous observation data for a long period of time, and the acquisition accuracy is relatively high, which is conducive to the discovery of rules. The data can provide key information for urban traffic decision-making research. In this paper, an RFID tag motion trajectory tracking method based on RF multiple features for ITS is proposed to analyze the movement trajectory of vehicles at important checkpoints. The method analyzes the accurate relationship between the RSSI, phase differences, and driving distances of the tag. It utilizes the information weight method to obtain the weights of multiple RF characteristics at different distances. Then, it calculates the center point of the common area where the vehicle may move under multi-antenna conditions, confirming the actual position of the vehicle. The experimental results show that the average positioning error of moving RFID tags based on dual-frequency signal phase differences and RSSI is less than 17 cm. This method can provide real-time, high-precision vehicle positioning and trajectory tracking solutions for ITS application scenarios such as parking guidance, unmanned vehicle route monitoring, and vehicle lane change detection.

During the Late Permian period, the coal from the Jiashun Mine in Xingren City, Guizhou Province, China, is characterized by a high sulfur (5.84%) and lithium (Li) (94.5 μg/g) content. Lithium is a critical metal in the context of global energy transition. Considering the importance of environmental protection and resource utilization, the mode of occurrence and distribution of trace elements in different coal preparation products were investigated. The obtained results indicated the following: (1) The minerals in Jiashun coal were mainly composed of veined and epigenetic pyrite, quartz, and kaolinite. Most of the minerals could be effectively removed from the cleaned coal through gravity separation. (2) The mode of occurrence of rare earth elements and yttrium (REY) in the coal was relatively complex, and they were mainly found in middlings from gravity separation and in flotation tailings. (3) The mode of occurrence of the trace elements in the coal significantly influenced their removal rate. The removal rate was significantly higher for trace elements removed through gravity separation compared to those removed using flotation. The trace elements mainly found in fine-grained minerals wrapped by organic matter or combined with organic portions had better removal results through flotation. The trace elements that occurred both in the minerals and organic matters had low removal rates (

Rare earth–Mg–Ni-based alloys with superlattice structures are new generation negative electrode materials for the nickel metal hydride batteries. Among them, the novel AB4-type superlattice structure alloy is supposed to have superior cycling stability and rate capability. Yet its preparation is hindered by the crucial requirement of temperature and the special composition which is close to the other superlattice structure. Here, we prepare rare earth–Mg–Ni-based alloy and study the phase transformation of alloys to make clear the formation of AB4-type phase. It is found Pr5Co19-type phase is converted from Ce5Co19-type phase and shows good stability at higher temperature compared to the Ce5Co19-type phase in the range of 930–970 °C. Afterwards, with further 5 °C increasing, AB4-type superlattice structure forms at a temperature of 975 °C by consuming Pr5Co19-type phase. In contrast with A5B19-type alloy, AB4-type alloy has superior rate capability owing to the dominant advantages of charge transfer and hydrogen diffusion. Besides, AB4-type alloy shows long lifespan whose capacity retention rates are 89.2% at the 100th cycle and 82.8% at the 200th cycle, respectively. AB4-type alloy delivers 1.53 wt.% hydrogen storage capacity at room temperature and exhibits higher plateau pressure than Pr5Co19-type alloy. The work provides novel AB4-type alloy with preferable electrochemical performance as negative electrode material to inspire the development of nickel metal hydride batteries.

In this study, quinoid structures, semiquinone radical structures, and electron affinity energies (EAEs) of many polycyclic quinones containing heteroatoms (O, B, and F) or heterocycles (pyrrole, imidazole, and pyrazine) were calculated. Quinones with unstable quinoid structures and stable semiquinone radical structures had high EAEs. The main factors of quinoid structural instability were spatial repulsion and antiaromaticity, and the stability factors of the semiquinone radical structure comprised inductive effects, hydrogen bonds, electrostatic interactions, and orbital interactions. Compound 11 had both the antiaromaticity of the quinoid structure and the orbital interactions of the semiquinone radical structure, thus having the highest EAE. The crystal structure of compound 8 was obtained, and it confirmed the reliability of the calculated results of this work.

Accurate immune molecular typing is pivotal for screening out patients with colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) who may benefit from immunotherapy and whose tumor microenvironment (TME) was needed for reprogramming to beneficial immune-mediated responses. However, little is known about the immune characteristic of COAD. Here, by calculating the enrichment score of immune characteristics in three online COAD datasets (TCGA-COAD, GSE39582, and GSE17538), we identified 17 prognostic-related immune characteristics that overlapped in at least two datasets. We determined that COADs could be stratified into three immune subtypes (IS1–IS3), based on consensus clustering of these 17 immune characteristics. Each of the three ISs was associated with distinct clinicopathological characteristics, genetic aberrations, tumor-infiltrating immune cell composition, immunophenotyping (immune “hot” and immune “cold”), and cytokine profiles, as well as different clinical outcomes and immunotherapy/therapeutic response. Patients with the IS1 tumor had high immune infiltration but immunosuppressive phenotype, IS3 tumor is an immune “hot” phenotype, whereas those with the IS2 tumor had an immune “cold” phenotype. We further verified the distinct immune phenotype of IS1 and IS3 by an in-house COAD cohort. We propose that the immune subtyping can be utilized to identify COAD patients who will be affected by the tumor immune microenvironment. Furthermore, the ISs may provide a guide for personalized cancer immunotherapy and for tumor prognosis.

The Aksu River, a quintessential inland river, exhibits elevated arsenic (As) concentrations in certain sections of its natural waters. Further investigation is necessary to determine the role of surface water and groundwater (SW-GW) exchanges in contributing to these high As concentrations. Both surface water and groundwater constitute crucial components of the basin water cycle, and the interaction between the two has been a central focus in basin water cycle research. In this study, a total of 59 groundwater samples and 41 surface water samples were collected along the river’s course within the basin. Among the groundwater samples, 18.64% exceeded the permissible drinking limit for As concentrations (10 μg/L), while 39.02% of the surface water samples exceeded this threshold. The water bodies in the Aksu River Basin are mildly alkaline, with total dissolved solids (TDSs) in surface water significantly surpassing those in groundwater. The chemical compositions of surface water and groundwater are strikingly similar, with the predominant anions being chloride (Cl−) and sulfate (SO42−) and the principal cations being sodium (Na+). The dissolution of silicate and carbonate minerals primarily influences the water chemistry characteristics of surface water and groundwater in the Aksu River Basin, followed by the dissolution of salt rocks. Human activities also play a major role in affecting the river’s water quality. The distribution of groundwater with elevated As content is entirely encompassed within the spatial distribution of surface water. Groundwater–surface water exchange plays a vital role in As enrichment in surface water.

As one of the crucial factors contributing to coal spontaneous combustion, the oxidation of pyrite is a complex process involving multiple reactions, particularly in the presence of oxidants (Fe3+ and O2) and bacteria. However, experimental results based on mineral-pyrite are not entirely applicable to coal-pyrite due to their differences in formation environments and compositions. This study selected two types of coal-pyrite and one type of mineral-pyrite as research to conduct oxidation experiments with the participation of oxidant (Fe3+) and bacteria (Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans), respectively, to obtain the following conclusions. Under natural conditions, the chemical oxidation rate of pyrite is slow, but the addition of oxidant Fe3+ and bacteria can significantly accelerate the oxidation rate. The promotion effect of oxidant Fe3+ on the oxidation reaction is stronger than that of bacteria. Under the same conditions, the oxidation rate of coal-pyrite samples is slightly higher than that of mineral-pyrite, due to the relatively higher impurities content, poorer crystal structure, and humic acid in the coal seams. Additionally, different compositions of coal-pyrite samples can lead to various oxidation degrees under different conditions. Therefore, the oxidation process and mechanism of pyrite in coal seams are complex and affected by many factors, which need further study to prevent coal spontaneous combustion accurately and effectively.

Rare earth elements (REEs) are considered to be one of the most important metal raw materials, and coal seams are one of the potential sources of REEs. As a low-molecular-weight organic acid, oxalic acid has a strong ability to migrate and dissolve minerals. The coal seam is formed by herbaceous plants and contains more oxalic acid, which may affect the enrichment and transport of REEs during coal formation. Based on the provenance minerals and enrichment carriers of REEs in the coal seam, granite and its weathered minerals (plagioclase, kaolinite, montmorillonite, and quartz) were selected for oxalic acid leaching experiments, to clarify the activation ability of oxalic acid for REEs in coal seams. Experimental results have shown that oxalic acid dissolves minerals and leads to the dissolution and migration of REEs. The higher the concentration of oxalic acid, the stronger the dissolution ability. Each element has a similar dissolution ability in high-concentration oxalic acid solutions, while the ionic radius and electronegativity can cause abnormal distribution of individual elements. The REE dissolution ability in different minerals is controlled by the crystal structure, and the re-adsorption of minerals inhibits the dissolution of REEs in low-concentration oxalic acid solutions. In addition, comparative analysis of REE distribution characteristics in natural water shows that the dissolution and migration of REEs are complexly affected by many factors in addition to pH and fluid environment. Therefore, the activation effect of oxalic acid on REEs in coal seams needs to be further studied.

Abstract Background WNT1 c.110 T>C and c.505G>T missense mutations have been identified in patients with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI). Whether these mutations affect osteoblast differentiation remains to be determined. This study aimed to investigate the effects of WNT1 c.110 T>C and c.505G>T mutations on osteoblast function, gene expression, and pathways involved in OI. Methods Empty vector (negative control), wild-type WNT1, WNT1 c.110 T>C, WNT1 c.505G>T, and WNT1 c.884C>A (positive control) mutant plasmids were constructed and transfected into preosteoblast (MC3T3-E1) cells to investigate their effect on osteoblast differentiation. The expressions of osteoblast markers, including BMP2, RANKL, osteocalcin, and alkaline phosphatase (ALP), were determined using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), western blotting (WB), enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and ALP staining assay, respectively. The mRNA and protein expression levels of WNT1 or the expression levels of the relevant proteins involved in the WNT1/β-catenin signaling pathway were also determined using RT-qPCR, WB, and immunofluorescence (IF) assays after the different plasmids were transfected into MC3T3-E1 cells. Results Compared with those in the wild-type group, in the mutation groups, the mRNA and protein expression levels of BMP2 were suppressed, the expressions of osteocalcin and ALP were inhibited, and the mRNA and protein expression levels of RANKL were enhanced in MC3T3-E1 cells. WB and IF assays revealed that the protein expression levels of WNT1 in MC3T3-E1 cells were downregulated in the mutation groups compared with those in the wild-type WNT1 group. Furthermore, the expression levels of nonphosphorylated β-catenin (non-p-β-catenin) and phosphorylated GSK-3β (p-GSK-3β) were downregulated in the mutation groups compared with those in the wild-type group. However, no significant changes in the expression level of non-p-β-catenin or p-GSK-3β were observed in the mutation groups. Conclusions WNT1 c.110 T>C and c.505G>T mutations may alter the proliferation and osteogenic phenotype of MC3T3-E1 linked to the progression of OI via the inhibition of the WNT1/β-catenin signaling pathway. This is the first study to confirm the effect of WNT1 c.110 T>C and c.505G>T missense mutations on osteoblast differentiation and propose a new molecular mechanism for OI development.

Multiunit-flavoenzyme NADPH oxidases (NOXs) play multiple roles in living cells via regulating signaling pathways. In several phytopathogenic fungi, NOXs are required for the polarized growth of hyphal tips and pathogenicity to host plants, but the possible mechanisms are still elusive. In our previous study, CgNOXA, CgNOXB, and CgNOXR were identified as components of the NOX complex in Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. The growth and the inoculation assays revealed that CgNOXA/B and CgNOXR regulate vegetative growth and are required for the full pathogenicity of C. gloeosporioides to Hevea leaves. We further demonstrated that the vital roles of CgNOXB and CgNOXR in appressorium formation and the development of invasion hyphae account for their functions in pathogenicity. Moreover, CgNOXB and CgNOXR regulate the production and distribution of ROS in hyphal tips and appressoria, control the specialized remodeling of F-actin in hyphal tips and appressoria, and are involved in fungal cell wall biosynthesis. Taken together, our findings highlight the role of NOXs in fungal pathogenicity through the organization of the actin cytoskeleton.

Fungi secrete numerous effectors to modulate host defense systems. Understanding the molecular mechanisms by which fungal effectors regulate plant defense is of great importance for the development of novel strategies for disease control. In this study, we identified necrosis- and ethylene-inducing protein 1 (Nep1)-like protein (NLP) effector gene, CgNLP1, which contributed to conidial germination, appressorium formation, invasive growth, and virulence of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides to the rubber tree. Transient expression of CgNLP1 in the leaves of Nicotiana benthamiana induced ethylene production in plants. Ectopic expression of CgNLP1 in Arabidopsis significantly enhanced the resistance to Botrytis cinerea and Alternaria brassicicola. An R2R3 type transcription factor HbMYB8-like of rubber tree was identified as the target of CgNLP1.HbMYB8-like, localized on the nucleus, and induced cell death in N. benthamiana. CgNLP1 disrupted nuclear accumulation of HbMYB8-like and suppressed HbMYB8-like induced cell death, which is mediated by the salicylic acid (SA) signal pathway. This study suggested a new strategy whereby C. gloeosporioides exploited the CgNLP1 effector to affect invasion and suppress a host defense regulator HbMYB8-like to facilitate infection.

Macroeconomic predicting is a research hotspot in the field of predicting. The accuracy of predicting often directly affects the rationality of decision-making, especially for defense expenditure predicting. This paper studies the residual correction method of prediction model based on time series. Firstly, based on the grey nonlinear Verhulst prediction model, Fourier series is introduced in this paper to correct the residual sequence once and establish a residual correction model. On this basis, this paper also introduces Markov related concepts, creatively introduces the two-dimensional residual data into Markov state transition matrix, classifies it by K-means clustering analysis, and calculates its parameters by PSO algorithm to realize the secondary accurate correction of residual. Finally, a PSO-Markov residual correction method based on Verhulst-Fourier model is proposed. Tested by examples, this method effectively improves the prediction accuracy of the model, and the prediction is more reliable and accurate.

This study uses experimental methods, theoretical research, and numerical prediction to study the dynamic mechanical properties and damage evolution of CFRP laminates at ultra-low temperatures. Based on the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) device, we set up an ultra-low temperature dynamic experimental platform with a synchronous observation function; the dynamic mechanical properties of laminates were tested, and the damage evolution process was observed. The experimental results are as follows: The compression strength and modulus increase linearly with the increase in strain rate and show a quadratic function trend of increasing and then decreasing with the decrease in temperature. The damage degree of the dynamic bending sample increases obviously with the impact velocity and decreases first and then increases with the decrease in temperature. Based on the low-temperature dynamic damage constitutive, failure criterion, and interlayer interface damage constitutive of the laminates, a numerical model was established to predict the dynamic mechanical properties and damage evolution process of CFRP laminates at ultra-low temperatures, and the finite element analysis (FEA) results are consistent with the experimental results. The results of this paper strongly support the application and safety evaluation of CFRP composites in extreme environments, such as deep space exploration.

The occurrence characteristics of sodium and its potential relationship with macerals in Zhundong coal, as well as in Shenfu coal with average sodium levels, are investigated in this study. A new five-step sequential extraction method was first conducted for determination. The occurrence status of sodium and its related macerals in samples was determined by microscope and SEM–EDS (scanning electron microscope–energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy). Soluble sodium salts (H2O-Na) make up the primary proportion of sodium in Zhundong coal, at approximately 50%, while various sodium species are distributed in Shenfu coal with nonobvious differences. Inertinite contains more sodium than vitrinite does in both coals, and the highest enrichment degree of sodium was discovered in inertinite from Zhundong coal, which presented primarily as NaCl crystals (H2O-Na) in fusinite cells, with a local weight percentage of over 15%. More specifically, H2O-Na and insoluble Na both tend to enrich in fusinite. Additionally, it is found that maceral-rich products can be gathered using triboelectrostatic separation, and a portion of sodium can thus be removed from the coal by removing inertinite. This study may provide new insights and references regarding sodium removal from Zhundong coal.

Nymphoides peltata is an aquatic floating weed widely distributed in the northern hemisphere of Eurasia. To better determine its phylogenetic relationships with other Nymphoides species and other aquatic plant species, the chloroplast genome of N. peltata was sequenced. The chloroplast genome size is 152,198 bp, consisting of a large single-copy region (84,223 bp) and a small single-copy region (17,817 bp) separated by a pair of inverted repeats with a length of 25,079 bp. The chloroplast genome contains 127 genes, including 85 protein-coding genes, 34 tRNA genes, and eight rRNAs. The maximum-likelihood phylogenetic tree showed that N. peltata is more closely related to other Nymphoides species, providing new insight into the evolution and genetic diversity of aquatic weeds.

Bacterial infection, inflammatory disorder, and poor angiogenesis of tissue in chronic wounds are the main reasons why wounds are difficult to heal. In this study, a novel MSN-PEG@AS/BP nano-spray was designed to solve these issues. Astragaloside IV (AS) was loaded in mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSN) to enhance angiogenesis and regulate inflammation, and the two-dimensional (2D) nanosheet black phosphorus (BP) was used to kill bacteria through a photothermal effect. Under thermal decomposition, the covalent bond of polyethylene glycol (PEG) was broken, releasing AS to promote the proliferation of fibroblasts, the formation of blood vessels, and the resolution of inflammation. AS can promote the polarization of the anti-inflammatory (M2) macrophage phenotype to enhance the deposition of extracellular matrix and the formation of blood vessels. Besides, BP showed a significant photothermal effect and nearly 99.58% of Escherichia coli and 99.13% of Staphylococcus aureus were killed in an antibacterial study. This nano-spray would be a novel therapeutic agent for infected wound treatment.

Background. Decreased cognitive function is a common problem in the old adults, which has high risk of progression to Alzheimer’s diseases (AD) and other dementias. This study was aimed at finding out the association between physical activity and cognitive function. Methods. In total, 1514 participants with the age≥55 years old registered in the China Health and Nutrition Survey (CHNS) database were selected in this study. The association between physical activity and cognitive function was analyzed via the generalized additive model. The association between the variables and the cognitive function score was expressed as β coefficient with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results. After adjusting age, ethnicity, stratum, marital status, education, memory status, and memory changes, the cognitive function score was increased by 0.011 points for every 1-point increase in domestic score (β=0.011, P=0.043). Subgroup analysis indicated that in the female group, for every 1-point increase in the domestic score, the cognitive function score increased by 0.019 points (β=0.019, P=0.017). In people with good memory status, each 1-point increase in domestic score increased the cognitive function score of 0.020 points (β=0.020, P=0.017). Conclusions. The decreased cognitive function was correlated with decreased domestic physical activity. The increased domestic physical activity was associated with an increased cognitive function in females and people with good memory status. The findings might offer a reference for deep understanding of the association between physical activity and cognitive function.
