A heteropolyanion-containing polypyrrole/carbon nanotube modified electrode has been fabricated through entrapment of phosphomolybdic acid (H3PM012O40) in polypyrrole (PPy) film on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) modified gold electrode. The electrochemical behavior and the electrocatalytic property of the modified electrode were investigated in acidic solution. Compared with the H3PM012O40/PPy/gold electrode, the H3PM012O40/PPy/MWNTs/gold electrode has shown enhanced electrocatalytic property to the reduction of nitrite. Steady-state amperometry has been applied to characterize the modified electrode as an amperometric sensor for the determination of nitrite. Effects of PPy film thickness and MWNTs concentration on the current response of the modified electrode for the detection of nitrite have been investigated and discussed. Under the optimized conditions, a linear range from 5.0 × 10-6 to 3.4 × 10-2 M has been observed for the H3PM012O40/PPy/MWNTs/gold electrode with a sensitivity of 1214.1 mAM-1 cm-2 and a detection limit of 1.0 × 10-6 M according to a signal-to-noise ratio of 3. In this study, the plant expression vector pBSGT1 with bar gene as a selection agent was constructed and transgenic banana was obtained via A-grobacterium-mediated transformation with the assistance of particle bombardment and screened with PCR and Basta spreading on banana plant leaves. Bone is a dynamically active tissue whose health status is closely related to its construction and remodeling, and imbalances in bone homeostasis lead to a wide range of bone diseases. The sulfated glycoprotein C-type lectin structural domain family 11 member A (Clec11a) is a key factor in bone mass regulation that significantly promotes the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and osteoblasts and stimulates chondrocyte proliferation, thereby promoting longitudinal bone growth. More importantly, Clec11a has high therapeutic potential for treating various bone diseases and can enhance the therapeutic effects of the parathyroid hormone against osteoporosis. Clec11a is also involved in the stress/adaptive response of bone to exercise via mechanical stimulation of the cation channel Pieoz1. Clec11a plays an important role in promoting bone health and preventing bone disease and may represent a new target and novel drug for bone disease treatment. Bone homeostasis refers to the balance between osteoblast-mediated bone formation and osteoclast-mediated bone resorption and the maintenance of stable bone mass. SIRT3 is a class of mitochondrial protein deacetylase that influences various mitochondrial functions and is involved in the mechanisms underlying resistance to aging; regulation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts; and development of osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, and other bone diseases. Moreover, exercise affects bones through SIRT3. Thus, studies on SIRT3 may provide insights for the treatment of bone diseases. Although SIRT3 can exert multiple effects on bone, the specific mechanism by which it regulates bone homeostasis remains unclear.
