Supplementary Table S1. Characteristics of the study population

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is prevalent in Southern China and Southeast Asia, and autoantibody signatures may improve early detection of NPC. In this study, serum levels of autoantibodies against a panel of six tumor-associated antigens (p53, NY-ESO-1, MMP-7, Hsp70, Prx VI, and Bmi-1) and Epstein–Barr virus capsid antigen-IgA (VCA-IgA) were tested by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay in a training set (220 NPC patients and 150 controls) and validated in a validation set (90 NPC patients and 68 controls). We used receiver-operating characteristics (ROC) to calculate diagnostic accuracy. ROC curves showed that use of these 6 autoantibody assays provided an area under curve (AUC) of 0.855 [95% confidence interval (CI), 0.818–0.892], 68.2% sensitivity, and 90.0% specificity in the training set and an AUC of 0.873 (95% CI, 0.821–0.925), 62.2% sensitivity, and 91.2% specificity in the validation set. Moreover, the autoantibody panel maintained diagnostic accuracy for VCA-IgA–negative NPC patients [0.854 (0.809–0.899), 67.8%, and 90.0% in the training set; 0.879 (0.815–0.942), 67.4%, and 91.2% in the validation set]. Importantly, combination of the autoantibody panel and VCA-IgA improved diagnostic accuracy for NPC versus controls compared with the autoantibody panel alone [0.911 (0.881–0.940), 81.4%, and 90.0% in the training set; 0.919 (0.878–0.959), 78.9%, and 91.2% in the validation set), as well as for early-stage NPC (0.944 (0.894–0.994), 87.9%, and 94.0% in the training set; 0.922 (0.808–1.000), 80.0%, and 92.6% in the validation set]. These results reveal autoantibody signatures in an optimized panel that could improve the identification of VCA-IgA–negative NPC patients, may aid screening and diagnosis of NPC, especially when combined with VCA-IgA. In this paper, combining with the domestic design and application of the snowplow in quality and quantity two aspects, basing on engineering application software ADAMS and CATIA, dynamics for 10t snowplow working device was researched, and the strength of the main stress components was analyzed by finite element method. On the basis of lightweight, strength and structure reasonable design, the snowplow device structure was verified feasibility through the research results. The paper studies could have a certain theoretical reference for the theoretical design and practical application of similar products.

This paper first to the excavator bucket rod of hydraulic circuit based on the establishment of basic hydraulic components of the mathematical model, using the Simulink simulation software to build the overall hydraulic circuit simulation model; according to the actual situation of module parameters to the appropriate value, the complex and changeable load is simplified into four different operating conditions, by inputting different signals to simulate different operating condition simulation, finally through the study of the parameters on the dynamic characteristics of hydraulic system of excavator working device effects, the results of the simulation analysis, put forward the corresponding improvement measure.

A chloroplastmimic photovoltaic that is powered by proton motive force and able to generate electricity using only water and photocatalyst is discussed in this paper. The working principle for the proposed photovoltaic is based on Fick's law. A TiO2/carbon nanotube laminated photocatalyst was adopted to enhance the proton motive force; an n-type silicon membrane with nanochannels was implemented as the artificial thylakoid membrane; and a small bias was applied to the artificial thylakoid membrane to analogize the photovoltaic to a multichannel p-channel depletion-type metal-solution FET, such that the flux of the proton can be effectively raised. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed simple chloroplastmimic photovoltaic can produce photocurrent directly from visible light using only pure water and photocatalyst.

The comparison between the NCTU and Caltech PQ-PMMA material shows that the difference in their behavior lies in the different concentration of residual MMA in the samples. Experimental evidence shows that during recording, PQ molecules attach to MMA but no diffusion takes place at room temperature. However, the excess of monomer during recording enables photoinduced polymerization as a mechanism for hologram formation leading to high diffraction efficiencies without the need of baking. The grating formed by the PQ-MMA groups is unstable and it can be erased within a few hours of baking.

A novel and very simple chloroplastmimic photovoltaic scheme, in which water is photolyzed by a new photocatalyst fabricated by depositing a thin film of TiO2 on an array of carbon nanotubes (CNT), has been made. Multiple reflections within the photocatalyst extend the optical response from the ultraviolet range to the full visible range. Hydrogen ions with various concentrations are separated by an artificial thylakoid membrane, resulting in a transmembrane chemiosmotic potential, generating ion-diffusion-induced electricity. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed simple chloroplastmimic photovoltaics can produce a photocurrent directly from visible light.Copyright © 2007 by ASME

We collected qualitative data from 120 senior managers in state-owned enterprises in the People’s Republic of China. Ten organizational culture dimensions that relate to an organization’s capability in internal integration and external adaptation and organizational culture’s effects on three organizational and three employee outcomes were identified. Two focus group discussions were conducted to verify the dimensions and explore causal relationships. We compare the Chinese organizational cultural dimensions with Western dimensions and note some unique organizational cultural dimensions in Chinese state-owned enterprises.

We present dynamics of the grating formation process in phenanthrenequinone- (PQ-) doped poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) photo-polymer. The exposure schedule for multiplexing holograms to achieve equal-strength storage in a single location is described. The analysis method is valid for any saturated media, thus the results can be applied to other photo-polymer materials with similar kinetics.

In this paper, we present investigations on holographic data storage using photopolymer of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) doped with phenathrenequinone (PQ) molecules. From the system specifications we derive the material parameters that are required for a data storage system. We present a technique of material preparation for obtaining samples with good optical quality. Then we present material characteristics for holographic data storage, including M/#, sensitivity, and material shrinkage. Experimental demonstration on digital data storage is presented and bit error rate is discussed.

We present the design and fabrication of a phenanthrenequinone-doped poly(methyl methacrylate) photopolymer material. Large blocks of samples were made, and the material showed negligible shrinkage after optical exposures. We recorded and reconstructed 250 holograms at a single spot, using a 1-cm(3) block.
