Introduction Psoriasis is a common skin disease, with chronic inflammation and a complex etiology. It has long been recognized that chronic skin conditions and mental health disorders are often co-morbid. Thus, the concept of the gut–brain–skin axis emphasized in mental health disorders may also regulate the health of skin. Results The gut microbiota has been found to be the bridge between the immune system and nervous system. By leveraging clinical cases and animal models of psoriasis, an important communication pathway has been identified along the gut–brain–skin axis that is associated with the modulation of neurotransmitters from the microbiota. Furthermore, mammalian neurotransmitters, including dopamine, serotonin, or γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA), can be produced and/or consumed by several types of bacteria. Other studies suggest that manipulating these neurotransmitters by bacteria may have an effect on host physiology, and the levels of neurotransmitter can be altered by microbiota-based interventions. Conclusions Nonetheless, it is unknown whether or not the manipulation of neurotransmitter levels by bacteria can affect the occurrence and development of psoriasis. Notably, preliminary experiments found that oral consumption of probiotics improves the clinical symptoms in patients with psoriasis, perhaps correlated with the gut microbiome-mediated crosstalk between the immune system and the nervous system by secreting neurotransmitters in psoriasis. In this review, the communication along the gut–brain–skin axis is discussed.

Alkali cations (A+ = Na+, K+, Rb+, Cs+) were coordinated with 1,2,3-hexamethylcucurbit[5]uril (1,2,3-HMeQ[5]) using different structure directing agents. Single crystal X-ray diffraction revealed the formation of heterometallic molecular capsule-like complexes in the presence of [CdCl4]2− anions as a structure directing agent. One portal of the 1,2,3-HMeQ[5] molecule is covered by a Cd2+ cation, while the other portal is covered by a A+ cation, and a chloride anion occupies the cavity of the Q[5] molecule. In contrast, in the presence of p-nitrophenol, a molecular bowl-like complex is formed, in which only one portal is covered by an A+ cation, and a water molecule occupies the cavity of the Q[5] molecule. The comparative study of these complexes suggest that the structure directing agents play important roles in the self-assembly of coordination complexes.

Three coordination complexes based on the macrocyclic ligand cucurbit[5]uril (Q[5]) with formulas {[Sr(C30H30N20O10)H2O]Cl2}·11H2O (1), {[Sr(C30H30N20O10)2(C6H5NO3)2(H2O)4]Cl4}·2H2O (2) and {[Sr(C30H30N20O10)Cl2]}·16H2O (3) have been obtained by the self-assembly of Q[5] with strontium(II) in the absence and presence of two different organic compounds, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and p-nitrophenol. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis of these three complexes reveal that metal ions Sr2+ can be chelated by Q[5] to form molecular bowl and molecular capsule. Complex 1 is a discrete molecular bowl. Complex 2 induced by p-nitrophenol displays a molecular capsule, which connects with the p-nitrophenol through “out-surface interaction”. Interestingly, complex 3 induced by p-hydroxybenzoic acid is a fascinating coordination polymer with 2D planar layer structure. The comparative study of these three complexes suggest that the organic molecules play important roles in the self-assembly of coordination complexes.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of standard rescue procedure (SRP) in improving severe trauma treatments in China. Methods: This study was conducted in 12 hospitals located in geographically and industrially different cities in China. A standard procedure on severe trauma rescue was established as a general rule for staff training and patient treatment. A regional network (system) efficiently integrating prehospital rescue, emergency room treatments, and hospital specialist treatments was built under the rule for information sharing and improving severe trauma treatments. Treatment outcomes were compared between before and 1 year after the implementation of the SRP. Results: The outcomes of a total of 74,615 and 12,051 trauma cases were collected from 12 hospitals before and after the implementation of the SRP. Implementation of the SRP led to efficient cooperation and information sharing of different treatment services. The emergency response time, prehospital transit time, emergency rescue time, consultation call time, and mortality rate of patients were 24.24 ± 4.32 min, 45.69 ± 3.89 min, 6.38 ± 1.05 min, 17.53 ± 0.72 min, and 33.82% ± 3.87% (n = 441), respectively, before the implementation of the standardization and significantly reduced to 10.11 ± 3.21 min, 22.39 ± 4.32 min, 3.26 ± 0.89 min, 3.45 ± 0.45 min, and 20.49% ± 3.11%, separately (n = 495, P < 0.05) after that. Conclusions: Staff training and SRP can significantly improve the efficiency of severe trauma treatments in China.

Our country generally uses small current grounding system (the neutral point no direct grounding system). Due to the fault current is too small to identify. So the distribution network operators have been plagued by this kind of fault line selection accuracy. This research establishes simulink model to analyze the fault of single-phase grounding system with matlab. The simulation and the results are used to guide the fault line selection.

The marine natural products (MNPs) isolated from seaweeds-associated microbial communities have received substantial attention owing to their exceptional nutritional and pharmacology application, such as antiviral, anticancer, antiprotozoal, antifungal, and antibacterial properties and so on. Particularly, there are several MNPs that have been displayed attractive value for the development of novel anticancer agents. This review covers the literature published in the recent 5 years on the novel anticancer MNPs discovered originating from seaweeds, and focused on the chemistry and relative anticancer activities of new MNPs which categorize their source organisms. These seaweed-derived MNPs are categorized based on their origin as brown algae, red algae, cyanobacteria, chlorophyta and others.

Based on the coordination ability of SCN−, Cl− and NO3–, three coordination complexes, namely, (C36H36N24O12)·{Cu[(SCN)4(H3O)]}2·2(H3O)·35H2O (1), {(C36H36N24O12)·[CuCl(H2O)3]2}·2Cl·10H2O (2), {(C36H36N24O12)·Cu2(H2O)5}·2(NO3)·2Cl·7H2O (3), have been synthesized through the reaction of cucurbit[6]uril (Q[6]) with transition metal ion Cu(II) at different anion conditions. In the structure of complex 1, the thiocyanate anion preferentially coordinate with the Cu(II) ion, which disables the Cu(II) ion to coordinate directly with the Q[6]. For the complex 2, the chloride anion enhances the coordination ability of the Q[6] to the Cu(II) ion, resulting a coordination tube of Q[6] with Cu(II) ion. In the case of complex 3, in the presence of the noncoordinating nitrate anion, the Cu(II) ion coordinate directly with the Q[6], generating a discrete binuclear complex. These structures unequivocally indicate that the coordinative nature of the anions is the key factor controlling the complexation of Q[6] with Cu(II) ion.

One of the main logistics function is handling and transporting which happens with very high frequency in the logistics system and occupies an important part of logistics cost. An automated handling system, such as shelves manipulator bracket, is quite necessary because of its cost of large manpower and time. According to the software Solidworks, the model of the shelves manipulator bracket can be established and analyzed by the plug-in of COSMOS Works. The loads and boundary condition of the bracket is calculated through the actual situation, and the stress characters has been obtained as soon as pretreatment is done. The FEA method that used by Solidworks has provided a new though about logistics devices.

The actuator of robot joint is designed based on Power source of the GMM. The working principle and characteristics of the GMM are discussed in detail and the work performance is validated by experiment. The differential decline amplifier configuration, the rotor and housing part are designed and the assembly drawings are gotten. After designing, the intensity of each portion is analyzed. Not only the mechanism of design of actuator of the robot joint is changed, and also the large-mass problem of the actuator mechanism of biomimetic micro-mechanical is solved. The reference is provided for other actuator mechanisms.

The structure of inner cylinder component of drum washing machine has a critical impact on its working performance and service life, as a result, the structure analysis of the drum assembly (spider and main shaft) is chosen to be the research object in this paper. As the three-dimensional model is established by PRO/E, the structure intensity characteristic has been analyzed with the method of finite element analysis which is based on software Ansys/Workbench. According to the stress distribution characteristic, the maximum stress value that the spider has been bearing can be contrasted and analyzed with different load which can make sure the periodic properties of structure loads. The analysis and optimization method based on Ansys/Workbench provided a new thought which had the guiding significance for the development of new products of drum washing machine.

Drill tower is the support structure to ensure normal work for drilling, and the structural characteristic has been played a vital role in the stability of drilling rig. In the paper, the 3-D modeling of the drill tower has been established by the software UG and the finite element analysis of the structure has been finished by software ANSYS that it provides a new design method and thought for the new type of electro-hydraulic controlling core drill tower. According to the analysis result, the practicability for the structure is discussed, and furthermore, this study can provide reliable and efficient technical reference for future design of drill tower products.

Because there exist some disadvantages of the traditional moisture regain testing method (oven drying) for textile materials, such as longer testing period, higher energy wastage, laboring intensity, and inefficient, a new instrument i.e. moisture regain rapid testing system has been researched, designed and manufactured for raw silk in this project. This system can record real-time the weight of raw silk sample during the drying in the certain environment oven. The index prediction model has been developed based on the accumulating generation operator (1-AGO) after the data have been pretreated. According to this model, the percent of error is only 2.09% between the predicted value and actual result of raw silk moisture regain within the drying cycle of 40min by the rapid testing system.

9,9-Bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)xanthene (BHPX), a bisphenol monomer, was synthesized in 82% yield from xanthenone in a one-pot, two-step synthetic procedure. Four novel aromatic poly(ether ketone)s (PEKs) based on BHPX were prepared via a nucleophilic aromatic substitution polycondensation with four difluorinated aromatic ketones. The polycondensation proceeded in tetramethylene sulfone in the presence of anhydrous potassium carbonate and afforded the new cardo PEKs in nearly quantitative yields with inherent viscosities of 0.77–0.85 dL/g. High molecular weight PEKs having number-average molecular weights (Mn's) in the range of 38,900–40,600 g/mol with the polydispersity index ranged from 1.97 to 2.06 are all amorphous and show high glass transition temperatures ranging from 210°C to 254°C, excellent thermal stability, and the temperatures at the 5% weight loss are over 538°C with char yields above 60% at 700°C in nitrogen. These new PEKs are all soluble in polar aprotic solvents such as N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone and N, N′-dimethylacetamide and could also be dissolved in chloroform and tetrahydrofuran. All the polymers formed transparent, strong, and flexible films with tensile strengths of 78–84 MPa, Young's moduli of 2.54–3.10 GPa, and elongations at break of 14–18 %. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The aim of this study is to assess the status of treatment of chronic prostatitis (CP) in Chinese men. A population-based cross-sectional survey was performed, in which 15 000 men aged between 15 and 60 years were randomly selected to receive a questionnaire designed to assess National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptoms Index (NIH-CPSI) status, therapeutic efficacy and 28 other items. A total of 12 743 men (84.95%) completed the questionnaire, of whom 1 071 (8.4%) were identified as having prostatitis-like symptoms and 517 (4.5%) were diagnosed with CP according to NIH-CPSI criteria and prostatitis-like symptomatology. Of the CP patients, 372 (65%) underwent long-term routine treatment 12 times per year. Additionally, 217 (72.8%) patients received antibiotic therapy and 215 (79.3%) men showed therapeutic effects. The treatment cost USD 1 151 (8 059 yuan) per person per year on average. Most CP patients received routine treatment, in most cases with antibiotics. Treatment was costly and most CP patients were not satisfied with its effectiveness. Antibacterial treatment might have been effective primarily in patients with bacterial disease.

A novel monomer of tetrachloroterephthaloyl chloride (TCTPC) was prepared by the chlorination of terephthaloyl chloride catalyzed by ferric chloride at 175–180°C for 10 h and confirmed by FTIR, MS, and elemental analysis. Five new polychloro substituted poly(aryl ether ketone sulfone)s (PEKSs) with inherent viscosities of 0.68–0.75 dL/g have been prepared from 4,4′-diphenoxydiphenylsulfone, 4,4′-bis(2-methylphenoxy) diphenylsulfone, 4,4′-bis(3-methylph-enoxy)diphenylsulfone, 4,4′-bis(2,6-dimethylphenoxy)diphenylsulfone, and 4,4′-bis(1-naphthoxy)-diphenylsulfone with TCTPC by electrophilic Friedel-Crafts acylation in the presence of DMF with anhydrous AlCl3 as a catalyst in 1,2-dichloroethane, respectively. These polymers having weight–average molecular weight in the range of 76,600–83,900 are all amorphous and show high glass transition temperatures ranging from 213 to 250°C, the 5% weight loss temperature over 450°C, high char yields of 60–67% at 700°C in nitrogen and good solubility in CHCl3 and polar solvents such as DMF, DMSO, and NMP at room temperature. All the polymers formed transparent, strong, and flexible films, with tensile strengths of 85.1–90.8 MPa, Young's moduli of 2.52–3.24 GPa, and elongations at break of 21.2–27.2%. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The traditional Douglas colorimetric method (phloroglucinol - glacial acetic acid colorimetry) could only be used to measure all forms of five-carbon sugars, including mono-, oligo- and poly- saccharides. Relative improvement is done on this method to achieve simultaneous determination of pentosan, hexosan and their monosaccharides, by the dual-wavelength method. Results indicate that 425 nm is the equal molar absorption wavelength of pentose and hexose, while 553 nm is the maximum absorption wavelength of pentoses. So the calculating formula has been greatly simplified based on the absorbance at 425 and 553 nm. The research results of interfering substances in the extraction liquor show that the lignin and glucuronic acid has no significant influence on the determination of pentoses or hexoses. It is concluded that this improved method has high precision and accuracy, and its recovery range is from 97.4% to 101.9%. Therefore, as a simple and rapid method, it is quite appropriate for measuring mixed sugars of pentoses and hexoses in the extraction liquor from hardwood or gra minaceous plant.

Chronic pelvic pain syndrome is a common and serious health problem affecting the quality of life of men. We evaluated the prevalence of premature ejaculation (PE) in Chinese men with chronic pelvic pain syndrome and studied its correlation to chronic prostatitis.A total of 15,000 men (aged 15-60 years) were randomly recruited to take part in a survey to provide questionnaire-elicited information for sociodemographics, sexual function, National Institutes of Health-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index, and International Index of Erectile Function 5-item questionnaire. The eligible subjects of the present investigation were married with sexual activity.Responses were collected from 12 743 men (84.95%). Of these men, 1071 (8.4%) reported having prostatitis-like symptoms. The incidence of chronic prostatitis was 4.5% (n = 571) for the entire group. Of the 7372 eligible men, the incidence of prostatitis-like symptoms, chronic prostatitis, and PE was 10.5% (n = 771), 5.0% (n = 370), and 15.3% (n = 1127), respectively. The group with PE had worse National Institutes of Health-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index scores (P.05) and lower International Index of Erectile Function 5-item questionnaire scores (P.05) than the patients without PE. Also, the percentage of prostatitis-like symptoms in the PE group was greater than that in the non-PE group (P.05). The prevalence of PE was 64.1% and 36.9% in the prostatitis-like symptom and chronic prostatitis group, respectively, of the 7372 eligible men.The results of our study showed a high prevalence of PE in patients with chronic prostatitis. An examination of the prostate, physically and microbiologically, should be considered during the assessment of patients with PE.

We studied the prevalence of prostatitis-like symptoms and identified their associated risk factors in a population based Chinese sample.A volunteer group of 15,000 eligible men residing in Beijing, Anhui, Xi'an, Guangzhou and Gansu cities or provinces were invited randomly to take part in the survey to complete a questionnaire that elicited information regarding sociodemographics, Eysenck personality questionnaire, current stress and health ratings, lifestyle, medical history, expressed prostatic secretion evaluation, score of the National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index and International Index of Erectile Function-5.Information on 12,743 (84.95%) men was collected. Of these men 1,071 (8.4%) reported prostatitis-like symptoms (mean National Institutes of Health Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index pain score 7.55 +/- 3.22). The percent of chronic prostatitis was 4.5% (571) among the symptoms group according to past urological history and expressed prostatic secretion evaluation. Subjects with prostatitis-like symptoms (mean age 34.56 +/- 13.48 years) had higher mean pain and urinary symptoms scores (7.53 +/- 3.22 and 2.84 +/- 2.72, respectively) compared with subjects without prostatitis-like symptoms (1.18 +/- 2.32 and 0.72 +/- 1.66 for pain and urinary symptoms scores, respectively, mean age 30.7 +/- 10.17) (pain and symptoms scores, p0.05). The quality of life score was 6.03 +/- 2.88 and 3.83 +/- 2.55 in groups with symptoms or nonsymptoms, respectively (p0.05).Prostatitis-like symptoms are a multifactorial problem affecting men of all ages (15 to 60 years) and demographics, and the prevalence is high in China. The syndrome is closely related to alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, frequent intercourse, as well as fatigue, pressure and too little sleep. These findings suggest that risk factors for this condition are largely modifiable and highlight potential targets for future prevention.
