The micro-combustion chamber is the key component for micro-TPV systems. To improve the combustor wall temperature level and its uniformity and efficiency an improved flat micro-combustor with a front cavity is built, and the combustion performance of the original and improved combustors of premixed H2/air flames under various inlet velocities and equivalence ratios is numerically investigated. The effects of the front cavity height and length on the outer wall temperature and efficiency are also discussed. The front cavity significantly improves the average outer wall temperature, outer wall temperature uniformity, and combustion efficiency of the micro-combustor, increases the area of the high temperature zone, and enhances the heat transfer between the burned blends and inner walls. The micro-combustor with the front cavity length of 2.0 mm and height of 0.5 mm is suitable for micro-TPV system application due to the relatively high outer wall temperature, combustion efficiency, and the most uniform outer wall temperature.

Spin–orbit torque (SOT) has been considered as one of the promising technologies for the next-generation magnetic random access memory (MRAM). So far, SOT has been widely utilized for inducing various modes of magnetization switching. However, it is a challenge that so many multiple modes of magnetization switching are integrated together. Here we propose a method of implementing both unipolar switching and bipolar switching of the perpendicular magnetization within a single SOT device. The mode of switching can be easily changed by tuning the amplitude of the applied current. We show that the field-like torque plays an important role in switching process. The field-like torque induces the precession of the magnetization in the case of unipolar switching, however, the field-like torque helps to generate an effective z-component torque in the case of bipolar switching. In addition, the influence of key parameters on the mode of switching is discussed, including the field-like torque strength, the bias field, and the current density. Our proposal can be used to design novel reconfigurable logic circuits in the near future.

Anemia is common in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The association between thalassemia and SLE is rare. In this study, we report the first patient who was found to have a severe hemolytic anemia caused by combination of SLE and Hb H disease. The patient had a more severe presentation in the hematological system. Our case indicates that for a patient who was diagnosed with SLE and developed deterioration in her hematological cell lines, investigation of other possible coexisting causes would be warranted.

To investigate the pore confinement effect of MoO 3 /Al 2 O 3 catalyst for deep hydrodesulfurization, a series of MoO 3 /γ-Al 2 O 3 catalysts were prepared via impregnation method. All catalysts had almost the same physicochemical properties, such as the specific surface area, apparent morphology, microstructure, coordination of Al atom and acidity, and differed in the pore size. The control experiments results showed that enlarging the pore size from 3.6 to 8.8 nm increased the desulfurization efficiency of 4,6-dimethyldibenzothiophene (4,6-DMDBT) from 62.6% to 95.0%, then decreased to 71.3%. The catalyst with a pore size of 5.9 nm displayed the optimum hydrodesulfurization performance. The larger pores weaken the effect of polarization of Al 3+ on the van der Waals interactions between the layers of active phase and result in more stacking of MoS 2 . The more stacked MoS 2 contribute to more edge and corner active sites for the catalysts with the pore size of 5.9 nm, which resulted that this catalyst exhibited the highest reaction rate and sulfidation degree of Mo species, lowest reduction temperature and largest amount of chemisorbed CO. The reaction and characterization results revealed that the smaller mesopores favored the accessibility of 4,6-DMDBT to the edge sites of MoS 2 active phase, whereas the larger ones promoted the reactant molecules to the corner sites. Compared to the catalyst with mono-pore size, the catalyst with hierarchical mesopore structure had a higher hydrodesulfurization activity through the synergism of small and large pores. The larger pores enable 4,6-DMDBT to reach the active sites located in the small pores and promote the accessibility of the reactants to the corner sites of hexagonal shaped MoS 2. This catalyst possessed a lower ratio of hydrodesulfurization products to direct desulfurization ones.

To improve the long-term outcomes of high tibial osteotomy (HTO) for gonarthritis, many cartilage repair procedures appeared, but their effects were controversial. To evaluate the efficacy of cartilage repair procedures during HTO for gonarthritis, we performed this update meta-analysis. We performed the system retrieval for clinical trials using various databases and then pooled the outcomes of the included studies. Fifteen studies were involved. The pooled results indicated that there were no significant differences in Kellgren and Lawrence (KL) scale (mean difference [MD] = 0.02, 95% confidence interval [CI] = −0.01 to 0.06, p = 0.24), the femorotibial angle (MD = 0.06, 95% CI = −0.04 to 0.16, p = 0.22), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) outcomes (MD = 12.53, 95% CI = −2.26 to 27.32, p = 0.10) of patients in experimental group than control. The subgroup analysis showed that the clinical outcomes of abrasion arthroplasty (AA) were worse than control group (standardized mean difference [SMD] −2.65, 95% CI = −3.67 to −1.63, p

Effective, robust, and low-cost catalysts are highly demanded for water oxidation reaction (WOR) which is the bottleneck of water splitting. Herein reported is water oxidation catalysis of two cobalt complexes [Co(tpbn)](ClO4)2 (1) and [Co(tpen)](ClO4)2.3CH3CN (2) of tetrapyridyl ligands N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridyl-methyl)-1,4-butanediamine (tpbn) and N,N,N',N'-tetrakis(2-pyridyl-methyl)-1,2-ethanediamine (tpen). 1 was a stable molecular electrocatalyst for WOR in alkaline solutions with a rate constant (kcat) of 0.97 s−1. A turnover number (TON) was estimated to be 10. Complex 2 was a much weaker catalyst than 1. The difference in the catalytic activity of 1 and 2 could be due to the flexibility of the coordination sphere of the Co center. The Co-N bonds in 1 were longer than those in 2. In comparison to the five-membered ring (N-C2-N-Co) in 2, a seven-membered ring (N-C4-N-Co) in 1 was more flexible and easily adaptive for the incoming H2O or OH– groups to access the Co center, which was vital for the formation of O2. A nucleophilic attack catalytic mechanism was proposed for WOR. This work demonstrated that the flexibility of the organic ligands and the adaptability of the coordination configuration of the metal center had a great impact on the catalytic properties of metal complexes.

Ethyl mercaptans which commonly exist in natural gas have to be removed to a low level due to their toxic, odorous and corrosive properties. Herein, a novel Fe-N-modified active carbon catalyst was prepared for the ethyl mercaptans removal. The Fe3O4 phase provides main active sites for catalytic oxidation of the ethyl mercaptans. Introduction of nitrogen groups increases content and dispersion of the active Fe3O4 sites, which exposes more active sites accessible to the ethyl mercaptans. Besides, the formed nitrogen groups, including pyridinic-N, pyrrolic-N also contribute to adsorption and activation of the sulfur compounds. Therefore, sulfur capacity of the novel catalyst (238.3 mg/g) is more than three times that of the iron modified active carbon (70.1 mg/g) and nearly four times that of the pure active carbon (62.2 mg/g). The ethyl mercaptans are oxidized into diethyl disulfides and metal sulfonates over the novel catalyst. All the oxidation products as well as the ethyl mercaptans are adsorbed by the catalyst. The sulfur capacity of the exhausted catalyst can be restored to nearly eighty percent of the fresh one after a simple thermal treatment.

In this study, the application of non-uniform thickness piezoelectric ceramics on ultrasonic motors is studied. Since the present non-uniform thickness piezoelectric ceramics are mainly used to improve the working bandwidth of transducers or energy harvesters, and the method to increase amplitude of the stator of ultrasonic motors is mainly geometric shape optimization. Based on this, the idea that the non-uniform thickness piezoelectric ceramic can be used to increase amplitude of the stator of ultrasonic motors is proposed, and the feasibility of the idea are verified by finite element method simulation. It is found that the non-uniform thickness piezoelectric ceramic can effectively increase the amplitude and different variable thickness forms have different effects on the amplitude of the stator. The simulation results show that the convex paraboloid thickness variation has the greatest effect on the amplitude enhancement, and the thicker the non-uniform thickness layer, the larger the amplitude in the bending mode, which is beneficial to design of ultrasonic motor based on quadrature of bending mode. So it paves a way for future design of high-performance high power ultrasonic motors.

Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) exhibiting skewed X chromosome inactivation (XCI) have been reported. The copy number variations (CNVs), loss of heterozygosity (LOH), or single-nucleotide variant (SNV) events in those epigenetically distinct cells remain unknown, and whether such genetic abnormalities will influence the XCI status of hESCs is unclear. In this study, three hESCs with skewed XCI, three with random XCI, and two male hESC lines at different passages were analyzed for CNVs and LOH levels using a high-resolution genotyping microarray. Whole-exome sequencing was used to investigate the potentially damaging SNVs. On average, 17.6 CNVs and 5.3 cases of LOH were identified in the skewed hESCs, which were similar to the rates observed in random hESCs. Five recurrent CNV regions were uniquely identified in the skewed hESCs, but all of them were considered polymorphisms. With the exception of a nongenic CNV, no additional CNVs were detected on the X chromosome in the skewed hESCs. Although the XCI status in two hESC lines was observed to be changed from random to skewed, no significant CNV difference was identified before and after the XCI change. SNV analysis indicated that normal alleles are maintained for most genes within copy-neutral LOH regions. Three types of expression patterns were observed in heterozygous alleles, and the damaging SNVs in skewed hESCs favored the expression of the wild-type alleles. In conclusion, in the present study, we did not find genetic differences in the CNV and LOH levels between hESCs with and without skewed XCI. Wild-type allele expression in the presence of damaging SNVs on the X chromosome in skewed hESCs might alleviate adverse effects in those hESCs.

A hot fuel gas from a gas generator is introduced as a coolant medium to the combinational opposing jet and platelet transpiration thermal protection system (TPS) to save the occupied space and weight of a coolant supply system. 3D Navier–Stokes equation and SST k-ω model with compressible correction are used to simulate the influence of hot fuel gas on combinational TPS. The hot fuel gas and low-temperature air are used as the coolant. Then, the flowfield and heat flux transfer are obtained. Detailed numerical results show that the hot fuel gas used in the opposing jet and transpiration does not have an evident effect on promoting thermal protection performance. Then, the hot fuel gas in the transpiration is replaced by the low-temperature air, and improved thermal protection performance is obtained. A good cooling effect and high thermal protection efficiency can be achieved with a small coolant with an acceptable intensity of hot fuel gas opposing jet and low-temperature transpiration.

Typical combustible particle coal has been analyzed by using turbulence-chemistry interaction models to realize which models are more accurate and reasonable on pulverized coal MILD combustion. Three turbulence-chemistry interaction models are examined: the Equilibrium Mixture Fraction/PDF (PDF), the Eddy Break Up (EBU), the Eddy Dissipation Concept (EDC). All of three models can give a suitable prediction of axial velocity on combustible particle coal MILD combustion because turbulence-chemistry interaction models have little influence on flow field and flow structure. The Eddy Dissipation Concept model (EDC), based on advanced turbulence-chemistry interaction with global and detailed kinetic mechanisms can produce satisfactory results on chemical and fluid dynamic behavior of combustible particle coal MILD combustion, especially on temperature and species concentrations.

The hot fuel gas generating with solid fuel was introduced to an opposing jet thermal protection system(TPS), saving the occupied space and reducing the weight of the gas supply system. In this study, the thermal protection performance of opposing jet TPS with hot fuel gas is investigated. The surface heat flux is initially obtained by solving the Reynolds-average Navier-Stokes(RANS) equations coupled with the Menter’s shear stress transport (SST) model. Then, the obtained heat flux is loaded to the blunt body to solve the temperature distribution. The influence of the hot fuel gas on the opposing jet TPS was analyzed with different flying condition. Results show that the hot fuel gas reduces the insulating capacity of the opposing jet, but the peak heat flux exhibits a prominent reduction in contrast to that without injection. The surface temperature also reduces a lot even the hot fuel gas is adopted than that without injection. To obtain a good cooling efficiency, the jet pressure is enhanced. With a higher jet pressure, the surface heat flux, as well as the surface temperature, is reduced, and the similar cooling efficiency can be obtained compared to that with normal coolant.

The electrochemical properties of hard carbon (HC) have been investigated for use as negative electrode for lithium ion capacitors. The HC electrode was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) method. The HC negative electrode was galvanostatically prelithiated at 0.1C for three cycles between 0.05-2 V. The LIC with activated carbon and HC electrodes was characterized by cyclic voltammetric analysis at the scan rate of 0.1 mV s-1 with different voltage ranges. The rate capability of the LIC was tested up to 100C and the retention is 54 %. The cycle performance is retained up to 86% at 50C and 80% at 100C even after 10,000 cycles. The results indicate that hard carbon is suitable as negative electrode materials for high power energy applications.

PurposeTo analyze the biomechanics of cervical spine after one-and two-level Total Disc Replacement (TDR) and two-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF).MethodsSeven adult human cadaveric cervical spines were biomechanically evaluated under eccentric displacement control in six mechanical modes, including flexion (Flex), extension (Ext), left bending (LB), right rending (RB), left rotation (LR) and right rotation (RR).ResultsIn fusion-treated specimens, range of motion (ROM) at instrumented level decreased as much as 81.78%, and other levels also demonstrated big difference in ROM. In arthroplasty-treated specimens, ROM showed little difference from that of the intact state. Large motion variation happened in LB, RB and Ext after both fusion and nonfusion surgical treatments.ConclusionsTDR had a more reasonable motion sharing than ACDF, especially in Flex, Ext, LR and RR. No evident influence of motion change was observed after adding an extra level of TDR.

Validated by the correlated experiments, a nose-tip with forward-facing cavity/opposing jet/the combinatorial configuration of forward-facing cavity and opposing jet thermal protection system (TPS) are investigated numerically. The physical mechanism of these TPS is discussed, and the cooling efficiency of them is compared. The combinatorial system is more suitable to be the TPS for the high speed vehicles which need fly under various flow conditions with long-range and long time.

The cooling effect of a film cooling thermal protection system is investigated, and the flow field, aerodynamic force and surface temperature distribution are obtained. The numerical method is validated by experiment with no film cooling. The physical mechanism of the reduction of temperature is analyzed. The jet interacts with the free stream to form a thermal insulating layer on the wall, which enables the free stream to flow outside the wall rather than interact with the surface to produce aerodynamic heating. In addition, the film cooling flow form a cool recirculation region, which reduces the temperature on the surface. Analysis of the numerical simulation results shows that this kind of thermal protection system has an excellent cooling effect on the surface of the nose-tip. With the outlet speed increasing, the cooling efficiency is improved and the aerodynamic resistance is changeless. When outlet speed and total pressure are invariable, the cooling effect of air and nitrogen is the same, but the cooling effect of helium is better.

Four turbulent models are introduced. The hypersonic aerodynamic heating calculation results by Shear Stress Transport (SST) turbulent model of different grid scale shows that near wall y+ spacing approximate to one third of the upper limit prescribed by turbulent model. Then, the comparison of the hypersonic aerodynamic heating calculation results by different turbulent model and the test data shows that SST turbulent model can give an enough accurate result.

A compact ultrawideband (UWB) microstrip power divider (PD) with one sharply rejected notch-band and wide stopband is analyzed and designed in this article.The proposed UWB PD is based on conventional Wilkinson PD, while interdigital hairpin resonators are introduced in two symmetrical output ports to widen passband. The stepped impedance resonator is studied and used to generate one desired notched band. Defected ground structure is introduced to improved stopband performance. Theoretical and simulated results are presented, which are in good agreement with the measured results. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. By the use of the map of the thermal resistance among volume cells, we establish a coupled heat transfer model of the hot gas, chamber wall and coolant. A reduced one-dimensional model was employed for the coolant flow and heat transfer, and three dimensional heat transfer model was used to calculate the coupling heat transfer through the wall, considering heat transfer at circumferential direction, axial direction and radial direction. Based on the study the mechanism of the cooling structure heat transfer, the computing model was employed and achieved the rule of heat flux and temperature of gas wall. Simultaneously, influence of different cooling structure was performed. The results indicated that the cooling structure with raised structure could better reduce the temperature of the chamber wall.

This paper has built a mathematical model for the evaporating characteristics of the grooved micro heat pipe’s thin film region and computed them in a specific working condition. The evaporating model of Wayner was employed in this mathematical model. The results from computation showed, for the H2O and NH3 as working fluid, at the beginning of the thin film region, the heat flux raised rapidly to a peak value and then declined to almost 0 also rapidly in a very short distance. Differently, for the Na and K as working fluid, the heat flux raised quickly but declined slower. Therefore, the alkali metals working fluids had larger area of high heat flux covered. The results indicated that the alkali metals working fluid has better evaporating characteristics for the high-temperature heat pipe than normal working fluids.

The leading structure of circumferential embedded high temperature heat-pipes in sidewall is considered as thermal protection system to prevent capsule type re-entry vehicle from the serious aerodynamic heating. It can lighten thermal load of windward and make good use of the endothermic capability of low temperature leeward. By means of fluid structure interaction method, we calculate the temperature distribution of capsule under given conditions and the maximum sidewall temperature decreases by 8.45%. The transfer of heat from windward to leeward is achieved, the windward of the thermal load is weakened and the ability of thermal protection is strengthened. The influence of structure parameters of heat-pipe-cooled capsule, flying attributes and materials attributes of coating to thermal protection effect are discussed in this paper to provide some references for the selection of leading structure and materials.

In this paper, a thermal protection system (TPS) of opposing jet combined with a forward-facing cavity in hypersonic flow was investigated numerically. The flow field parameters and heat flux distribution along the outer body surface are obtained. The thermal protection efficiency of the combined TPS and the single opposing jet TPS was compared. The numerical results shows that this combined TPS has a good effect on cooling the nose of hypersonic vehicle. The recirculation region plays an pivotal role for the reduction of heat flux. The exist of the cavity strengthen the cooling efficiency.

A simplified rectangular plate model is built up with three simply supported sides and one free side for the thermal wrinkling analysis of the platelet thermal management devices. By using the static method and the Galerkin's method, the thermal wrinkling of the structural plates under the uniform and no-uniform thermal stress is analyzed; meanwhile, numerical method for solving the platelets with three simply supported sides and one free side is also tested. The analysis method presents in the article could not only apply to the platelet thermal management devices, but also to the the wall of a rectangular vessel with an open top, and to the distortion of a welded plate structure.

To study the effects of wall thickness, rib height and groove width on cooling effect and pressure drop, three dimensional heat transfer of liquid propellant rocket engine with cooling groove is numerically investigated using gas-solid-liquid coupled heat transfer model. The one-dimensional model is adopted to describe the coolant flow and 3D heat transfer model is used to calculate the coupling heat transfer through the wall. In this text, wall thickness, rib height and groove width varied while the groove number is fixed and coolant mass flow rate remains constant. When liner material is QZr0.2 alloy, we find the optimal design point of the aspect ratio. Moreover, a fitting function of the optimal aspect ratio is acquired. The biggest error of the fitting function is 3.3% compared with numerical results.

Forward-facing cavity mounted on the blunt nose of hypersonic vehicle is a good choice to reduce the stagnation heating. Presently, the study on hypersonic vehicles nose tip with forward-facing cavity mainly focus on its thermology characteristic, and little work can be found investigating the effect of cavity on aerodynamic force for a holistic vehicle. The CFD method is developed to investigate the effect of cavity geometry on aerodynamic performance of hypersonic vehicle with a forward-facing cavity on the nose-tip. Drag coefficient, lift coefficient and pitching moment coefficient of the vehicle for different attack angle are calculated. It is found that the cavity length to diameter (L/D) can not be a characteristic parameter in aerodynamic research, though it was used as a main characteristic parameter in investigation on the thermal protection. The length of the cavity L has little effect on aerodynamic characteristic of the vehicle, and the cavity diameter D has a crucial influence on the aerodynamic performance and the aerodynamic performance decrease with the D increasing. With the attack angle increasing, the drag coefficient, lift coefficient, pitching moment coefficient and lift-drag ratio of the hypersonic vehicle all increase.

The GO2/ethanol/water tripropellant evaporation and combustion in axisymmetric combustion chamber was numerically simulated. The different characteristics of the evaporation and combustion between dilative and traditional un-dilative entrance, and the different dilation-angles of the combustion chamber entrance are analyzed. The results indicate that the dilative entrance combustion chamber is benefit for thermal protection of the injection, and the flamelet backpedals with increase of the entrance dilation-angle. At the same time, that dilative inlet combustion chamber reduces the evaporation of the liquid component seriously. The evaporation rate decreases with the increase of the dilation-angle at first, but after the dilation-angle is bigger than a critical one, it increases.

To obtain temperature distribution in regenerative-cooled liquid propellant rocket nozzle quickly and accurately, three-dimensional numerical simulation employed using empirical formulas. A reduced one-dimensional model is employed for the coolant flow and heat transfer, while three dimensional heat transfer model is used to calculate the coupling heat transfer through the wall. The geometrical model is subscale hot-firing chamber. The numerical results agree well with experimental data, while temperature field in nozzle obtained. In terms of computing time and accuracy of results, this method can provide a reference for optimization design and performance estimation.

Platelet transpiration cooling is one of the key techniques for the developing reusable launch vehicle. The thinner of the platelet, the better effect plate transpiration will gain. Meanwhile, the platelet unit may get wrinkled if thermal stress is large enough. One-dimensional non-equilibrium model is adopted to analyze the heat transfer characteristics of platelet transpiration cooling. The assumption of rectangular plate with three-side simple supported and one-side free is taken and Galerkin method is applied for analyzing the stability of platelet unit. Analysis indicates that as the heat transfer intensity increases, the thermal soaking depth decreases, while more coolant is needed to keep the heated wall at design temperature. Also, the critical thickness for the platelet not to get wrinkled gets larger with the increasing thermal soaking depth.

By the uses of finite element method and finite volume method, we calculated the solid domain and fluid domain of windward leading edge which is flying under one condition. And the paper proved that heat pipes which covered on the leading edge have effect on thermal protection. The maximum temperature of the head decreased 12.2%. And the minimum temperature of after-body increased 8.85%. Achieving the transfer of heat from head to after-body, the front head of the thermal load was weakened and the ability of leading edge thermal protection was strengthen. The effect of the thickness of heat pipe, black level of covering materials and equivalent thermal conductivity of heat pipes on the wall temperature were discussed for the selection of thermal protection materials of windward leading edge to provide a frame of reference.

Two-dimensional transient heat transfer model of the plug of regenerative cooling plug nozzle is built. Based on the convective heat-transfer coefficient and the radiation heat flux obtained using analytic method and axisymmetric unstructured Delaunay grid applied to mesh the simplified physical model, numerical simulations of transient temperature field and thermal distortion are carried out by finite element method combined with thermal-structure coupling theory. Not only the results of numerical calculation under working conditions with and without regenerative cooling, but the results under low and high working conditions are compared. The results shows that thermal distortion can be reduced effectively when regenerative cooling method is adopted in the throat and combustion chamber that have the most serious thermal condition.

Under thermal stress, the formed platelet of Liquid Rocket Engine (LRE) transpiration cooling structure may result in wrinkling. The stability of rectangular sheet with three simple supported-sides and one free-side is simplified as the model of formed platelet. Applying the Galerkin method for analysis, the relationship of the critical thickness of formed platelet and the transpiration width is obtained. Also, the influence of different material properties on the critical thickness is presented. The theory and method proposed in this paper are applicable for more complicated temperature distribution and also can be used to choose material for transpiration cooling.

Waste sintered Nd-Fe-B permanent magnets were recycled via doping (Nd 20 Dy 80 ) 76 Co 20 Cu 3 Fe 1 special alloy (SA) powders. The effect of the SA on the microstructure and magnetic properties of the recycled magnets has been studied. The SA additives between 0.0 and 2.0 wt% have little effect on the remanence (B r ) of the recycled magnet. When the additive content is more than 2.0 wt%, the remanence (B r ) begins to decrease. The coercivity of recycled magnet increases gradually as the SA additive increases. Compared with the properties of the original waste sintered magnet, a magnet recycled with 2.0 wt% SA recovers 97.5%, 92.4%, and 93.1% of B r , H cj and (B H ) max , respectively. The volume fraction of the Nd-rich phase reaches a maximum of 7.4 vol% for 2.0 wt% SA, which is nearly equal to that of the original waste magnet. The average grain size of all the recycled magnets is larger than that of the original waste magnet. It is our conclusion that currently 2.0 wt% SA additive is the best content for recovering the properties of the waste magnets.

Splenic artery aneurysms are an uncommon form of vascular disease, which have a significant potential for rupture, most commonly associated with pregnancy, typically presents as sudden, unexpected death. As a consequence, the initial recognition and diagnosis of splenic artery aneurysm rupture take place only at autopsy.This report presents 2 cases of sudden death resulting from splenic artery aneurysm in a pregnant woman and a postpartum woman, respectively. The former splenic artery aneurysm were measuring 1 cm in diameter and the latter splenic artery aneurysm 5.5 x 5 x 2 cm in size. Histologic examination of the both vessels wall showed severe morphologic changes of degeneration together with an attenuation of arterial internal elastica.To our knowledge, splenic artery aneurysm in pregnant woman is unusual vital disease. It is essential that obstetricians are alert to the prodromal and catastrophic symptoms of splenic artery aneurysm. Early recognition and prompt management, including early resected electively, are vital to the survival of both mother and fetus.

To analyze de novo copy number variations (CNVs) in a Chinese family affected with autism spectrum disorders (ASD).Affymetrix Cytogenetics Whole Genome 2.7M Array assay was performed to identify potential CNVs in four members from the family.A total of 89 de novo CNV regions were identified in the autistic siblings. The CNV regions in total have exceeded 1/1000 of the lengths of chromosomes 5, 11 and 14. In addition, de novo CNV regions were also identified at 3p26.1, 4q22.2, and 5p15.2, which encompassed 10 genes associated with nerve development including GRM7, GRID2 and CTNND2.A number of nerve development associated genes were at the de novo CNV sites, which may provide new clues for genetic research of ASD. High-resolution array-comparative genomic hybridization is an effective method for detecting submicroscopic chromosomal imbalances.

A novel ultra-wideband (UWB) power divider on microstrip line is proposed in this paper. This divider is formed by installing three open stubs and two aperture-backed interdigital coupled-lines to the traditional two-section Wilkison power divider. Finally, a compact power divider is designed and fabricated, and it is demonstrated that 3 dB power splitting from one input port to two output ports is achieved. In addition, good impedance matching at all the three ports and excellent isolation between two output ports are obtained over the specified 3.1–10.6 GHz UWB range.

The purpose of this study was to determine the mechanism of mini-tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase/mini-tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase (mini-TyrRS/mini-TrpRS) on ischemic angiogenesis in rats with acute myocardial infarction and proliferation, migration, potential signaling pathways of rat coronary venular endothelial cells (RCVECs). The effects of mini-TyrRS/mini-TrpRS on RCVECs proliferation were evaluated using the MTT colorimetric assay. Cell migration was assayed using a modified Boyden chamber technique. The potential involvement of Erk and PI3K signaling pathways was explored using selective chemical inhibitor or Western-blot analysis. Left coronary artery ligation was used to establish the model of acute myocardial infarction in rats (Sprague-Dawley male rats, 200-250 g, 2-3 months old), 20 μl of mini-TyrRS, mini-TrpRS, or PBS (vehicle) was injected subcutaneously every 12 h. The rats were randomly divided into four experimental groups: sham operated group; coronary artery ligation (CAL); CAL + mini-TyrRS (20 μl, twice daily, 600 μg kg(-1) day(-1)); and CAL + mini-TrpRS (20 μl, twice daily, 600 μg kg(-1) day(-1)). The experiment was carried out at four time points on the 3rd, 7th, 14th, and 28th day after ligation. To determine whether mini-TyrRS/mini-TrpRS affected the angiogenesis activity of rats with myocardial infarction, we measured the myocardial infarction size by TTC staining, and microvessel density (MVD) was determined by CD34 staining. The results show that proliferation and migration in RCVECs could be promoted by mini-TyrRS at concentrations of 1-100 μg/ml, and inhibited by mini-TrpRS. Phospho-PI3-kinase and Erk expression increased significantly when mini-TyrRS was added, but could be attenuated by mini-TrpRS. Compared to the CAL group, the myocardial infarction size of the mini-TyrRS group at the 3rd, 7th, 14th, and 28th day were decreased, while mini-TrpRS increased, but only in days 14 and 28 was there a significant difference. Except that, the microvessel density of RCVECs was promoted in mini-TyrRS group but inhibited in the mini-TrpRS group. These results indicated that angiogenesis could be either stimulated by mini-TyrRS or inhibited by mini-TrpRS.
