This article mainly describes the chemical and crystal structure of attapulgite as its unique crystal structure possess special physicochemical properties such as large specific surface area, adsorption performance, and cation exchangeability. By modification of attapulgite, such as purification, high temperature roasting and other physical modification or acid–base salt modification, organic modification, surfactant modification and other chemical modification can further improve its physicochemical properties. In this article, the modification methods of two aspects of physical modification and chemical modification are summarized, at the same time, the research progress and achievements of many scholars in attapulgite modification are reviewed. Through modified attapulgite the number of pores increased, channel become loose, pore diameter increases, pore volume increases, interlayer spacing increases, specific surface area increases, chargeability and adsorption activity change, and the adsorption performance of attapulgite is greatly improved. Many scholars have applied modified attapulgite to the treatment of radionuclides, and achieved remarkable results. It has been found that modified attapulgite has U(VI), Eu(III), Cs(III), Th(IV), both Eu(III) and Sr(II) have good adsorption properties, and the adsorption rate and adsorption capacity are greatly improved compared with the original soil. Based on the Summary of the attapulgite modification method and its application in the treatment of radionuclide, some suggestions on the research and application of attapulgite modification and the possible key research directions in the future are further proposed.

Objective To evaluate the clinical value of minimally invasive stereotactic puncture therapy (MISPT) combined with external ventricular drainage (EVD) on secondary intraventricular hemorrhage (SIVH). Methods A retrospective analysis of the patients of intraventricular hemorrhage from May 2013 to January 2015 was conducted in our hospital, according to the enrollment criterion; of which 40 patients were treated by MISPT combined with EVD (ME group) and 45 patients by conventional craniotomy combined with EVD (CE group). Related indicators were compared in the two groups of patients with short- and long-term efficacy. Results The patients in the ME group showed obvious amelioration in the GCS score compared with that of the CE group. There were no statistically significant differences in Graeb score and hematoma volume. Compared with the CE group, the incidence of postoperative complications was significantly decreased in the ME group. The mortalities of the ME and CE groups were 13.3% and 22.6%, respectively. The incidences of rebleeding in the ME and CE groups were 10.0% and 15.6%, respectively. For the four parameters representing long-term efficacy of 6 months postoperation, the Glasgow Outcome Scale (GOS), Barthel Index (BI), modified Rankin Scale (mRS), and Karnofsky Scale (KPS) scores in the ME group were ameliorated more significantly than those of the CE group. Conclusions Our data showed that the main advantages of ME in the treatment for SIVH were in minimal trauma, low incidence of complications, and the possibility to improve the long-term prognosis significantly.

This paper examines the technical efficiency and its determinants for 17 Chinese commercial banks in the period 2008 to 2010. The aim of this study is to identify the efficiency change of Chinese banks and what variables determine this change when the worldwide financial crisis is still going on. The stochastic frontier approach is used to estimate technical efficiency scores for the 17 commercial banks, and five determinant variables are introduced into the technical inefficiency regression model to detect the most influential factors. Results show that the efficiencies of state-owned and joint-equity banks are growing steadily, and state-owned banks perform the best and city banks perform the worst. Moreover, the assets quality is more important than the innovation ability during this special period to keep the growth of Chinese commercial banks.
