Abstract

In response to the problems of insufficient electromagnetic driving force and slow response speed of electromagnetic valves under the constraints of driving power and electromagnetic valve volume, the dynamic and static features of electromagnetic valves are analyzed. Through simulation analysis and prototype experiments, it is verified that improving the intrinsically safe electromagnetic force can significantly improve the response features of electromagnetic valves. A plan to improve the response features of electromagnetic valves by optimizing the electromagnetic force is determined. The evaluation indicators for the features of intrinsically safe electromagnets, including effective stroke index, average electromagnetic force index, and static comprehensive performance index, have been proposed to solve the problem of difficult performance evaluation of electromagnets caused by different stroke. The Maxwell electromagnetic simulation software is used to analyze the effects of changes in guide tube depth, armature radius, non working air gap, non working air gap, and pot mouth height on the static features of the electromagnet. The sensitivity of different parameters to the static features is obtained, providing a reference for selecting the size control range in parameter optimization. A second-order response surface model is constructed based on the results of orthogonal experiments to evaluate the comprehensive features of electromagnets using iron core structural parameters. Genetic algorithm is used to optimize the iron core parameters. The prototype test results show that the optimized electromagnetic force in the horizontal section of the electromagnet has increased by 56%, the effective stroke has increased by 26%, and the opening response time of the intrinsically safe electromagnetic valve has been shortened by 52.5%.

Abstract

The contact behavior of a stepseal affects its reliability and remaining life. In this study, experimental and numerical analyses were performed to investigate the contact behavior of a typical stepseal. Its dimensions and material properties were also tested. The Mooney–Rivlin hyperelastic model was used to fit the stress–strain data of the rubber. A static contact pressure of 105.1 MPa was obtained using the Fujifilm pressure measurement film. A finite element model of a stepseal with reasonable element sizes was established. A comparison between the experimental results and finite element (FE) predictions shows that the finite element method underpredicts the maximum static contact pressure and contact length. For the maximum contact pressure, the test results were approximately 30.4% higher than those of the FE predictions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

Aiming at investigating the fluid-solid-dynamic behaviors of the liquid-end of high-pressure and high-flow-rate reciprocating pump in pure water medium, the dynamic characteristics of the suction and discharge valves of liquid-end based on AMESimhydraulic system simulation technology and the flow field distribution in the liquid-end based on FLUENT CFD technology are established. Three-dimensional finite element (FE) analyses on the strength of liquid-end manifold were carried out by the use of ANSYS commercial code. The AMESim simulation results show that the maximum impact velocity of the discharge valve is 0. 347m/s and the volumetric efficiency is 99.53%. Based on the CFD results, the effect of the configuration of flat valve on the vibration and noise behavior during the suction and discharge processes of the liquid-end manifold is discussed. The FE results suggest that the maximum stress in a value of 198 MPa occurs at the intersecting holes of the liquid-end manifold. The FE-based safety factor is 3. 21, which meets the fatigue strength requirements for important parts.

22. Evaluating the tensile properties of high-strength stainless steels using small punch testing

Abstract

Accurately measuring the mechanical properties of high-strength stainless steels is of great significance for ensuring structural safety, predicting long-term performance and optimizing design. However, the standardized tensile test specimens used to obtain strength properties must be fabricated from bulk materials from an in-service structure or component, result in the loss of structural integrity or a reduction in remaining service life. Small punch tests require only miniscule material samples and are widely used to estimate in-service component material characteristics. This study performed small punch tests on three high-strength stainless steels—X17CrNi15-2, 15-5PH, and PH13-8Mo—to obtain the correlations between the small punch tests and the uniaxial tensile test results for each material. The estimated yield stresses obtained from the small punch tests were distributed within a factor of 1.5 on both sides of the unity line when compared with those obtained from the uniaxial tensile tests; the ultimate strength values estimated from the small punch tests correlated quite well with those obtained from the uniaxial tensile tests. An iterative finite element analysis was subsequently established to simulate the small punch tests and thereby obtain the coefficients for a Ludwik power law correlation representing the true stress–strain properties. The finite element predicted force–deflection curves agreed well with the small punch test results, which were also compared with the predictions obtained from empirical equations proposed in previous studies. Finally, the fracture mechanisms of the small punch test specimens were characterized through scanning electron microscopy, indicating that the dimple fracture mechanism dominated the failure mode. The results of this study are expected to inform the application of small punch test to evaluate in-service high-strength stainless steel materials.

I118 this paper, we propose a crying recognition model based on Deep Neural Network Gaussian Mixture Model Hidden Markov Model (DNN-GMM-HMM), using the acoustical model established by GMM-HMM to decode the reduced dimensionality features, and with the help of DSP Technology, the meaning of baby crying can be accurately analyzed. To attain the goal of intelligent monitoring of babies, this paper mainly adopts STM32, DSP technology and Bluetooth 4.0BLE technology to realize the function of baby crying identification, heart rate monitoring, and security alerts.
