Abstract

Several short-chain fatty acids and their corresponding potential existing hydrated forms are important molecules in interstellar space. Their structures were optimized with twelve different computational methods. The dipole moments and the spectral constants, including rotational constants and centrifugal distortion constants were obtained. According to the benchmark study, revDSD-PBEP86-D3(BJ) is the most suitable method that was selected for rotational calculation. Symmetry-adapted perturbation theory was used to study the strength and composition of the interaction between acids and water in clusters. The possibility of its existing under the low-temperature and low-pressure conditions was confirmed by calculating of binding free energy. Furthermore, ab initio molecular dynamics simulations were used to investigate whether the internal rotations of acids could be observed. The 3-fold splitting from the predicted high-resolution microwave rotational spectra of the acetic acid monohydrate at different temperatures perfectly proved the accuracy of the simulations.

Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are now becoming increasingly accessible to amateur and commercial users alike. An air traffic management (ATM) system is needed to help ensure that this newest entrant into the skies does not collide with others. In an ATM, airspace can be composed of airways, intersections and nodes. In this paper, for simplicity, distributed coordinating the motions of Vertical TakeOff and Landing (VTOL) UAVs to pass an airway is focused. This is formulated as a virtual tube passing problem, which includes passing a virtual tube, inter-agent collision avoidance and keeping within the virtual tube. Lyapunov-like functions are designed elaborately, and formal analysis based on invariant set theorem is made to show that all UAVs can pass the virtual tube without getting trapped, avoid collision and keep within the virtual tube. What is more, by the proposed distributed control, a VTOL UAV can keep away from another VTOL UAV or return back to the virtual tube as soon as possible, once it enters into the safety area of another or has a collision with the virtual tube during it is passing the virtual tube. Simulations and experiments are carried out to show the effectiveness of the proposed method and the comparison with other methods.

Abstract

Background Aucklandiae Radix (CAR) and its roasted processed products (PAR) are extensively used in various Chinese patent medicines due to their diverse pharmacological activities. However, numerous side effects of CAR have been reported and the hepatotoxicity and the corresponding mechanisms have not been thoroughly investigated. Our study aims to explore the underlying mechanism of the hepatotoxic impacts of CAR. Methods In this study, metabolomic analysis was performed using liver tissue from the mice administered with different dosages of CAR/PAR extracts to examine the hepatotoxic impacts of CAR and elucidate the underlying mechanism. Network pharmacology was employed to predict the potential molecular targets and associated signaling pathways based on the distinctive compounds between CAR and PAR. A composition-target-GO-Bio process-metabolic pathway network was constructed by integrating the hepatotoxicity-related metabolic pathways. Finally, the target proteins related with the hepatotoxic effect of CAR were identified and validated in vivo. Results The metabolomics analysis revealed that 33 related metabolic pathways were significantly altered in the high-dose CAR group, four of which were associated with the hepatotoxicity and could be alleviated by PAR. The network identified NQO1 as the primary target of the hepatotoxic effect induced by CAR exposure, which was subsequently verified by Western Blotting. Further evidence in vivo demonstrated that Nrf2 and HO-1, closely related to NQO1, were also the main targets through which CAR induced the liver injury, and that oxidative stress should be the primary mechanism for the CAR-induced hepatotoxicity. Conclusions This preliminary study on the hepatic toxic injury of CAR provides a theoretical basis for the rational and safe use of CAR rationally and safely in clinical settings.
