Com o objetivo de manifestar poeticamente a maneira como percebo os relacionamentos interpessoais que se dão à distância, produzi três séries de desenhos e vídeos digitais – chamadas Glitches Fantasmagóricos, Estado de Distância e Confinamento2020 – nos quais realizei processos de glitch art e que incluí na criação de um website para versar sobre a experiência de se comunicar com pessoas geograficamente distantes através da Internet. Inspirada por um relato pessoal do autor Grafton Tanner, bem como por reflexões do filósofo Byung-Chul Han sobre a comunicação à distância, passei a perceber os indivíduos com quem me relaciono através do computador e do smartphone como fantasmas: seres que tem sua presença sentida, ao mesmo tempo que são fisicamente ausentes. Este conceito me levou a elaborar três categorias de fantasmas que identifico em meio à comunicação à distância, que nortearam as ideias para a produção das séries de desenhos e vídeos digitais, que por sua vez levantaram a questão a respeito de como reunir e expor estas obras que são, também, imateriais. Como resultado desta investigação desenvolvi um website, a Carta de Amor aos Fantasmas, para elaborar uma narrativa que exibe as obras das três séries e é, também, uma obra de web arte em si. A pesquisa contém reflexões sobre Internet e web arte, pautadas majoritariamente nas ideias de Lucia Leão, Maria Amélia Bulhões, Pierre Lévy e Cleomar Rocha; considerações sobre o Vaporwave, o que inclui as análises de Grafton Tanner, Icaro Raymundo e Laura Glitsos; e ponderações a respeito do relacionamento à distância, direcionadas pelos estudos de Nancy Baym, Byung-Chul Han e Zygmunt Bauman. Love Letter to Ghosts is the result of a visual and poetic body of work developed in the line of research of Creation Processes and Poetics of Daily Life in the Master’s Degree in Visual Arts at the Federal University of Pelotas, from 2018 to 2020. With the intent of poetically developing the way I perceive interpersonal long-distance relationships, I produced three series of digital drawings and videos – called Ghostly Glitches, State of Distance and Confinement2020 – in which I used glitch art processes and were included in the creation of a website to talk about the experience of communicating with geographically distant people over the Internet. Taking inspiration in a personal account written by the author Grafton Tanner, as well as in the thoughts of Byung-Chul Han on long distance communication, I began to perceive the individuals with whom I chat via smartphones and computers as ghosts: beings who have their presence felt, while being physically absent. This concept led me to elaborate three categories of ghosts that I identify in long-distance communication, which guided the ideas for the production of the series of digital drawings and videos, which in turn raised the question about how to gather and exhibit these works which are also immaterial. The solution was the development of a website, the Love Letter to Ghosts, to form a narrative that displays the artworks from the three series and is also a work of web art in itself. The research contains reflections on Internet and web art, based mainly on the ideas of Lucia Leão, Maria Amélia Bulhões, Pierre Lévy and Cleomar Rocha; considerations about Vaporwave, which includes the analyses of Grafton Tanner, Icaro Raymundo and Laura Glitsos; and thoughts on long-distance relationships, guided by the studies of Nancy Baym, Byung-Chul Han and Zygmunt Bauman.

A presente investigação visa responder a seguinte questão: como construir uma estratégia teórico-metodológica para o desenvolvimento de “infográficos conceituais” que possibilitem uma experiência estética significativa em web arte? Seu objetivo principal é discutir a possibilidade de desenvolver o método proposto. Distintos modos são adotados para verificar o problema apresentado, observando o meio onde se manifesta a fim de entendê-lo, interpretá-lo e atribuir significados, caracterizando-se, assim, em um método qualitativo. Tal abordagem se justifica uma vez que os dados consultados possuem caráter descritivo e subjetivo e a interpretação dos resultados obtidos nos infográficos conceituais projetados está relacionada ao contexto e aos pressupostos culturais dos envolvidos na sua produção. O referencial teórico contribuiu na reflexão de conceitos como tecnologia e cultura, observando as influências no perfil do jovem contemporâneo, público contemplado. Compreender as teorias sobre educação estética e sensível foi fundamental para compreender as metodologias consolidadas sobre o Ensino da Arte que, também, servem como aporte teórico para a reflexão da prática docente. Questões referentes à teoria da aprendizagem significativa são abordadas para pensar a proposta metodológica. Com isso, a teoria dos mapas conceituais e suas aproximações com projetos de infográficos propiciaram o desenvolvimento de uma prática aqui denominada “infográfico conceitual” por meio do qual o estudante pode traduzir a experiência vivenciada através de obras de web arte, atribuindo conceitos, relacionando-os, ou não, a imagens que transmitam o pensamento. A proposta metodológica, testada em uma turma de Ensino Médio do Instituto Federal Sul-Rio-grandense em Pelotas – RS, permitiu verificar a viabilidade do desenvolvimento de infográficos conceituais como meio para o desenvolvimento de uma experiência estética significativa. The research "The conceptual infographic as a means for the development of significant aesthetic experience in web art", linked to the Post-graduation Program in Visual Arts of the Arts Center of UFPel, proposes the construction of a method of Art Teaching which explores works involving digital technologies. This investigation aims to answer the following question: how to construct a theoretical-methodological strategy for the development of "conceptual infographics" that allow a significant aesthetic experience in web art? The main objective of this research is to discuss the possibility of developing the proposed method. Taking this as a starting point, different ways to verify the stated problem are taken, observing the environment in which it manifests itself in order to understand it, to interpret it and to assign meanings to it, thus being characterized as a qualitative method. This approach is justified since the queried data have descriptive and subjective character, and the interpretation of the results obtained in the projected conceptual infographics is related to the context and the cultural assumptions of those involved in its production. The theoretical framework contributed to the reflection about concepts such as technology and culture, observing the influences on contemporary youth, the audience intended to be reached. Understanding the theories on aesthetic and sensitive education was crucial to grasp the consolidated methodologies of Art Teaching, which also serve as theoretical basis for the reflection about teaching practice. Issues related to the theory of meaningful learning are addressed in order to help thinking the proposed method. With that, the theory of concept maps and their connections with infographic projects allowed the development of a practice which was named as "conceptual infographic", through which the student can translate the experience lived through works of web art by attributing concepts, relating them – or not – to images that convey his/her thought. The proposed methodology, tested with a group of high school students from Instituto Federal Sul-Rio-grandense in Pelotas, allowed checking the viability of using conceptual infographics as a means for developing a meaningful aesthetic experience.

A presente dissertação se propõe a construir e fundamentar um modo operatório para compreender o tipo de obra poética que parte de uma fusão de linguagens na criação de uma narrativa artística, sob a forma de um site-obra (www.io.art.br). Para tanto, parte-se de um conjunto de conceitos cuja soma possibilita uma aproximação desse objeto de estudo, a realização de uma obra em poéticas visuais na forma de um site na web, estruturado em narrativas não-lineares que se interligam e ganham novas dimensões de significado, em uma construção múltipla e fragmentada. Busca-se problematizar o trabalho proposto à luz de diferentes conceitos, como narrativa, suas origens na narração oral e literária, passando para a cinematográfica, trazendo uma visão sobre os princípios da montagem na construção de narrativas mentais. São feitas aproximações com a imagem do labirinto, como forma de compreender a estruturação da navegação por múltiplos caminhos, e abordadas algumas possíveis visões sobre obras em redes telemáticas, notadamente os princípios que regem a hipertextualidade e a não-linearidade. São também abordados os conceitos de rizoma, por agenciar conexões e desdobramentos; informes moldáveis, pelo seu caráter de aglutinação de elementos em um conjunto que age e se desloca como um único ser, além de permitir sua propagação em novos agrupamentos; e torus, pelo seu potencial de dar tridimensionalidade aos deslocamentos que a rede propicia. Finalmente, analisa-se o conceito de Convergência, em especial no que tange à interatividade e inserção de propostas de web arte no contexto fora da rede. Este último mostrou-se como uma ferramenta apropriada para englobar os anteriores, e permitir uma abordagem da proposta artística desenvolvida. This dissertation aims to form the foundation and structure of an operational mode for understanding creative work that is based on a fusion of languages in creating an artistic narrative in the form of a site-work (www.io.art.br). It is therefore based on a set of concepts that together enable an approach to this object of study, the production of creative work in the form of a website, structured into non-linear narratives that are interconnected and acquire new scales of meaning in a multiple and fragmented structure. It seeks to address the proposed work in the light of different concepts, such as narrative, its origins in oral and literary narration, passing through cinematography and introducing a view of the principles of montage in the construction of mental narratives. It refers to the image of the labyrinth as a way of understanding a structure of navigation along multiple routes and considers some possible views about works in telematics networks, in particular the principles governing hypertextuality and non-linearity. It also investigates rhizome theory as an enabler of connections and developments; slime mold, through its agglutination of elements into a group that acts and moves as a single unit and also allows propagation into new groupings; and the torus, through its ability to give three-dimensionality to the movements provided by the web. Finally, it analyses the concept of Convergence, particularly in terms of interactivity and insertion of web-art proposals into a context beyond the web. This final concept is seen to be a suitable instrument for encompassing the others, and allows an approach to the developed art proposal.

Considerando-se a atualidade da problemática ecológica em diferentes áreas de conhecimento e a importância da Internet em termos ncomunicacionais, apresentam-se propostas de web arte envolvidas com essas temáticas. A partir de alguns exemplos, exploram-se seus limites, suas interações com os usuários e seus diferentes níveis de repercussão.
