Advances in multimodal characterization methods fuel a generation of increasing immense hyper-dimensional datasets. Color mapping is employed for conveying higher dimensional data in two-dimensional (2D) representations for human consumption without relying on multiple projections. How one constructs these color maps, however, critically affects how accurately one perceives data. For simple scalar fields, perceptually uniform color maps and color selection have been shown to improve data readability and interpretation across research fields. Here we review core concepts underlying the design of perceptually uniform color map and extend the concepts from scalar fields to two-dimensional vector fields and three-component composition fields frequently found in materials-chemistry research to enable high-fidelity visualization. We develop the software tools PAPUC and CMPUC to enable researchers to utilize these colorimetry principles and employ perceptually uniform color spaces for rigorously meaningful color mapping of higher dimensional data representations. Last, we demonstrate how these approaches deliver immediate improvements in data readability and interpretation in microscopies and spectroscopies routinely used in discerning materials structure, chemistry, and properties.

- Abstract
The objective of this study was to compare the effectiveness of a second tumor necrosis factor inhibitor (TNFi) versus a non‐TNFi biologic following discontinuation of a TNFi for patients with polyarticular‐course juvenile idiopathic arthritis (pJIA). Using the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry, patients with pJIA who started receiving a second biologic following a first TNFi were identified. Patients were required to have no active uveitis on the index date and a visit six months after the index date. Outcome measures included Clinical Juvenile Arthritis Disease Activity Score with a maximum of 10 active joints (cJADAS10), cJADAS10 inactive disease (ID; ≤2.5) and cJADAS10 minimal disease activity (MiDA; ≤5). Multiple imputation was used to account for missing data. Adjusted odds ratios (aORs) were calculated using propensity score quintiles to compare outcomes at six months following second biologic initiation. There were 216 patients included, 84% initially received etanercept, and most patients stopped receiving it because of its ineffectiveness (74%). A total of 183 (85%) started receiving a second TNFi, and 33 (15%) started receiving a non‐TNFi. Adalimumab was the most common second biologic received (71% overall, 84% of second TNFi), and tocilizumab was the most common non‐TNFi second biologic received (9% overall, 58% of non‐TNFi). There was no difference between receiving TNFi versus non‐TNFi in cJADAS10 ID (29% vs 25%; aOR 1.23, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.47–3.20) or at least MiDA (43% vs 39%; aOR 1.11, 95% CI 0.47–2.62) at six months. Most patients with pJIA started receiving TNFi rather than non‐TNFi as their second biologic, and there were no differences in disease activity at six months.

- Abstract
Young children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) demonstrate fewer and less varied play behaviors than children with typical development. This article describes two studies designed to increase two aspects of play complexity--diverse play actions and sequential play actions--in a child with ASD. In Study 1, we use a multitreatment single-case design to compare the use of the system of least prompts with contingent reinforcement for diverse play or all play. In Study 2, we used a multiple probe design to examine the relation between the system of least prompts with contingent reinforcement and the child's use of play sequences. Across both studies, the complexity of play increased when specific aspects--diversity or sequences--were prompted and reinforced; however, the maintenance of effects were variable.

15. The reception of Ancient Greek tragedy in England 1660-1760

480 - Abstract
The dissertation enquires into some of the forms that the reception of ancient Greek tragedy took in England between 1660 and 1760. It looks at those critics and translators who engaged most with ancient Greek tragedy and whose engagement was accompanied by an interest in ancient theory and native English literature. Chapter 1, after examining works by George Gascoigne and Francis Kinwelmershe, Thomas Goffe, Thomas May and Christopher Wase, considers William Joyner’s original tragedy The Roman Empress (1670) in order to see what use Joyner made of Sophocles’ Oedipus and Euripides’ Hippolytus and Medea. Chapter 2 turns to the writings of, especially, John Dryden, Thomas Rymer, John Dennis and Charles Gildon, who were the most prolific and interesting commentators on dramatic theory in England at this time, and assesses their different perspectives on the questions of tragedy and the modern stage. Chapter 3 addresses separately comments on ancient Greek tragedy contained in Jeremy Collier’s attack on contemporary English theatre in A Short View of the Immorality, and Profaneness of the English Stage (1698) and in replies to him. Chapter 4 concentrates on Lewis Theobald’s translations of Sophocles’ Electra (1714) and Oedipus (1715) and how his views of ancient Greek tragedy influenced, and were influenced by, his interest in Shakespeare, an edition of whose plays he published in 1733. Chapter 5 examines Thomas Francklin’s The Tragedies of Sophocles and A Dissertation on Antient Tragedy (both 1759) and how they reflect his interest in the contemporary stage and contemporary ideas about the value of simplicity in literature and art. I argue that the writers I examine reflect through their engagement with Greek tragedy ideas about the relationships between ancient and early modern English tragedy, particularly that of Shakespeare, and between the present and the past.

Rooted in the Black feminist tradition, this kitchen table talk brings together scholars who are doing work in the name of liberation. We begin by naming people who ground us in our beings and our work, and from these offerings, we discuss the power of love in the fight for liberation with the hopes of cultivating educational spaces for Black students where they feel loved, seen, validated, and heard. Furthermore, the disruption of the ways knowledge is circulated and produced in the academy was profound in our dialogue of people and organizations that are doing liberatory work centering Black youth for educational justice. We conclude with an exclamation of the necessity of radical self-care through narratives honoring ourselves and the communities in which we serve. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Health disparities in childhood‐onset systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) disproportionately impact marginalized populations. Socioeconomically patterned missing data can magnify existing health inequities by supporting inferences that may misrepresent populations of interest. Our objective was to assess missing data and subsequent health equity implications among participants with childhood‐onset SLE enrolled in a large pediatric rheumatology registry. We evaluated co‐missingness of 12 variables representing demographics, socioeconomic position, and clinical factors (e.g., disease‐related indices) using Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry childhood‐onset SLE enrollment data (2015–2022; n = 766). We performed logistic regression to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) for missing disease‐related indices at enrollment (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Disease Activity Index 2000 [SLEDAI‐2K] and/or Systemic Lupus International Collaborating Clinics/American College of Rheumatology Damage Index [SDI]) associated with data missingness. We used linear regression to assess the association between socioeconomic factors and SLEDAI‐2K at enrollment using 3 analytic methods for missing data: complete case analysis, multiple imputation, and nonprobabilistic bias analyses, with missing values imputed to represent extreme low or high disadvantage. On average, participants were missing 6.2% of data, with over 50% of participants missing at least 1 variable. Missing data correlated most closely with variables within data categories (i.e., demographic). Government‐assisted health insurance was associated with missing SLEDAI‐2K and/or SDI scores compared to private health insurance (OR 2.04 [95% CI 1.22, 3.41]). The different analytic approaches resulted in varying analytic sample sizes and fundamentally conflicting estimated associations. Our results support intentional evaluation of missing data to inform effect estimate interpretation and critical assessment of causal statements that might otherwise misrepresent health inequities.

Black Storytellers and Everyday Liberation addresses the question, "How do Black folx cultivate everyday practices of liberation?" This article details the inception of an ethnographic Black Storytelling research project between 2021 and 2022 that centers the lived experiences of 18 people around the United States. The participants, including myself, collectively explore how various institutions have shaped individual and family identities. As an outcome of this work, I provide analysis that disrupts institutional anti-Black racism (specifically naming schools) and identify ways that we can heal and affirm ourselves through everyday practices. I conclude with a data excerpt in the form of poetic transcription. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background: In COVACTA, a randomised, placebo-controlled trial in patients hospitalised with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), tocilizumab did not improve 28-day mortality, but shortened hospital and intensive care unit stay. Longer-term effects of tocilizumab in patients with COVID-19 are unknown. Therefore, the efficacy and safety of tocilizumab in COVID-19 beyond day 28 and its impact on Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) clearance and antibody response in COVACTA were investigated. Methods: Adults in Europe and North America hospitalised with COVID-19 (N = 452) between April 3, 2020 and May 28, 2020 were randomly assigned (2:1) to double-blind intravenous tocilizumab or placebo and assessed for efficacy and safety through day 60. Assessments included mortality, time to hospital discharge, SARS-CoV-2 viral load in nasopharyngeal swab and serum samples, and neutralising anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in serum. ClinicalTrials.gov registration: NCT04320615. Findings: By day 60, 24·5% (72/294) of patients in the tocilizumab arm and 25·0% (36/144) in the placebo arm died (weighted difference -0·5% [95% CI -9·1 to 8·0]), and 67·0% (197/294) in the tocilizumab arm and 63·9% (92/144) in the placebo arm were discharged from the hospital. Serious infections occurred in 24·1% (71/295) of patients in the tocilizumab arm and 29·4% (42/143) in the placebo arm. Median time to negative reverse transcriptase-quantitative polymerase chain reaction result in nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal samples was 15·0 days (95% CI 14·0 to 21·0) in the tocilizumab arm and 21·0 days (95% CI 14·0 to 28·0) in the placebo arm. All tested patients had positive test results for neutralising anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies at day 60. Interpretation: There was no mortality benefit with tocilizumab through day 60. Tocilizumab did not impair viral clearance or host immune response, and no new safety signals were observed. Future investigations may explore potential biomarkers to

- Abstract
24 augustus 2022, Contains fulltext : 253265.pdf (Publisher’s version ) (Open Access), Listening to music can have a calming effect on people, but the natural “consumption” of music is generally not used in a goal-oriented way to reduce physiological arousal (i.e., heart rate and skin conductance) and tension, and to enhance mood. X-System is designed to predict the innate neurophysiological response to pieces of music and influence the arousal levels of users. We hypothesized that listening to a preferred genre of music has beneficial physiological and psychological effects and that X-System had an effect over and above the use of preferred music genres. A small-scale study (N = 38) was conducted in a medium secure forensic psychiatric facility to investigate the effects of passive music therapy on the arousal, tension, and mood of patients and their caregivers. Participants listened to a selection of songs of their preferred music genre for 2 days. On one of the 2 days, the music selection was played in an order established by X-System, with the aim to maximally reduce arousal, whereas on the other day the music selection was played in random order. In both conditions, physiological indices and self-reported tension decreased after listening to the preferred music. The hypothesized accelerated reduction in skin conductance for the X-System playlist was evident on visual inspection of the data, but the trend was non-significant (p = .065). The use of personalized music in forensic psychiatry might be a relatively effective, inexpensive way to benefit patients and staff members, especially patients that are hesitant to engage in the more traditional therapies.
