Around the world, maxillofacial disorders are distributed widely. The oral and maxillofacial area is affected by a wide variety of illnesses, from inflammatory lesions to benign and malignant cancers. Objective: This is a base line study that will aid in the diagnosis and management of oral healthcare and also guide recommendations and associated research in the local population in the future. Methods: In this descriptive observational study, 124 patients with orofacial lesions reported at the Hayat Abad medical complex, Department of Oral Maxillofacial and Dental Surgery between 2021 and 2022 were analyzed. Result: A total of 124 orofacial lesions were found, of which 47 were malignant and 57 benign, with the posterior mandible being the most commonly affected area. The pathology that affected most frequently was squamous cell carcinoma. In the fourth, fifth, and sixth decades of life, the soft tissue lesion affected 41% of males and 37% of females. These included squamous cell carcinoma well-differentiated in 32 (25.80%), fibrous epulis in 11 (8.8%), and pyogenic granuloma in 16 (12.90%) of cases. Conclusion: With the posterior mandibular area being the most common site, oral squamous cell carcinoma affects adolescents and the elderly with the most incidence rate.

Objective: To develop entrustable professional activities for a one-year house job in dentistry. Study Design: Qualitative study (Interpretive Paradigm). Place and Duration of Study: Khyber College of Dentistry and Sardar Begum Dental College, Peshawar Pakistan, from Sep 2017 to May 2018. Methodology: A five-step approach was used to develop four EPAs for a one-year house job. Using maximum variation sampling, faculty members from eleven disciplines of dentistry working in public and private dental colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and charge of training dental interns participated in the study. Three focus group interviews and three in-depth interviews were conducted. Data was transcribed and thematic analysis was done. Results: The EPAs were developed for a one-year house job using the five-step approach. This process resulted in developing the content of four EPAs in detail, analysing the results into competencies aligned with Pakistan medical and dental council, assessment methods such as multisource feedback, direct observation, mini CEX assessment with peer coaching and role modelling teaching strategies for each activity. Participants agreed on trusting the house officer to perform independently with a gradual shift of supervision scale from direct action to indirect and finally enacting the EPAs unsupervised. Conclusion: This study presents the foundation for using specific EPAs in dentistry, a step towards a competency-based approach. The content of EPAs for a transition period of a one-year house job in dentistry was developed using the 5-stage approach. These EPAs can provide explicit guidance for the engagement of dental house officers in clinical workplace activities.

Objectives To explore the algal floral diversity and its role to determine water quality. Methods The regular monthly collection of algal and water samples was made during 2018. Unicellular algae were preserved in 2 to 3% formalin while macroalgae in 4% formalin. Microphotographs of algae were taken at the biotechnological Lab of PCSIR Lahore, Pakistan. Palmer pollution index was used to determine water quality. Results The study identified 201 algal species distributed among 57 genera, 42 families, 25 orders, 10 classes and 7 divisions. The total score of Algal Genus Pollution Index of Banjosa Lake, Ali Sojal Dam, Dothan Dam, Drake Dam and Rawalakot Nullah (city) were 14, 9, 10, 18 and 25 respectively. It was revealed that Banjosa Lake has probable organic pollution, Ali Sojal Dam and Dothan Dam showed lack of organic pollution, Drake Dam indicated moderate pollution while Rawalakot Nullah (City) indicated confirm high organic pollution. Conclusion We strongly recommend the conservation and managed status of algal species for sustainable resource of algal- derived products in future. It was revealed that the water quality of Banjosa Lake, Drak Dam and Rawalakot Nullah was affected from anthropogenic activities and needs to be managed.

Purpose of the study: This study finds the barriers responsible for females’ low literacy in the Balochistan province of Pakistan at the primary school level. Methodology: Qualitative research design was applied to this study. Data were collected through the interview tool and were analyzed through a thematic analysis procedure. Results were given in the form of major themes and sub-themes. Main Findings: This study gave 4 major results, which were in the form of four major themes, i.e., lack of basic facilities, lack of qualified teachers, lack of enrolment, and financial constraints. The major themes were categorized into several sub-themes. Applications of this study: This study is beneficial and applicable in Pakistani society. It attracts the attention of the layman and government to focus on female education to make the females literate at the best level. Novelty/Originality of this study: The new aspect of this study was to show the barriers responsible for females’ low literacy. It is aware of the readers that lack of basic facilities, lack of qualified teachers, lack of enrolment, and financial constraints are the barriers to females’ low literacy. It also advances the existing knowledge and bridges the gap between past and existing knowledge.

Background: Smoking is considered a major risk factor of oral cancer. The oral health and hygiene are majorly affected by tobacco products. It is needed to provide the periodontal health status of smokers for better understanding to treat and to develop a periodontal treatment guideline for smokers. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of smoking on periodontal health of patients attending the dental section of Bacha khan Medical College Mardan. Methods: This was descriptive cross-sectional study carried out among 227 adult smokers attending dental unit of Bacha khan Medical College for treatment from the duration of September 2018 to November 2019. After taking written consent from the head of department, an assessment questionnaire was developed, and face validated from the respective field experts. A written formal consent was taken from each patient willing to participate in the study. The predesigned validated questionnaire was filled after assessment of patients from respective experts. The collected data was about probing depth, gum recession, attachment loss, color of gingival, presence and amount of plaque, calculus deposits and mobility of teeth. Data was collected and analyzed by using SPSS version 16. Results: A total 227 cigarette smokers male patients were assessed for different periodontal parameters. Study provided that 98(43%) and 68 (30%) smokers were with the age range 31-45 years and 46-60 years respectively. It was also found that 92(40.5%) smokers male patients were found with bleeding on probing and the bleeding frequency were high in elder ages and study provided a significant difference of bleeding frequency with respect to age p

The Pakistani education system is facing deep-rooted problems for a very long period. Though some policies are devised to enhance the education system, especially the secondary education system in Pakistan. This research has therefore aimed at exploring the incorporation of social networking in secondary education while considering the efforts of the KP Government to reform the educational system. From its results, it is analyzed that the KP government has proposed effective approaches, yet many efforts need to be taken to properly accept and integrate social networking in making the education system more effective.

Multimedia equipment is part of ICT facilities. The study aims to find out the impact of multimedia on the academic performance of the students at secondary level of Peshawar District. The main objectives of the study were (i) to find out Impact of multimedia on the academic performance of the students at secondary level. (ii) to assess the application of multimedia during the class and their impact on the student academic performance. The research was descriptive in nature. All the Secondary School of Peshawar district were population. The research sample included 20 public schools from the Peshawar District, 20 heads, 40 teachers and 40 secondary school students in the Peshawar District. The questionnaire was used as a research instrument. It was concluded that, given the lack of multimedia at school, it is recommended that the government provide multimedia services to the school.

Employee associations serve as resources of interested employees in helping the advisory committees and the staff task forces. Besides, they may also help in publicizing information of interest, procedures, and policy to employees and participate actively in the process of academic review. In universities, a significant role is played by employees unions. Unlike Employee unions, the existence of employee associations differs a lot. Many benefits can be gained from the relationship between the management of the University and employee association. It has been found that in the past, universities in Pakistan have failed to revive and engage with their employees, due to which effectiveness was lost majorly by the associations present in the universities. This research paper will critically reflect upon the relationship between the employee association and the overall management of the universities of Peshawar. Further, it will also identify the significant barriers and issues faced by the employees associations.

Educational policies are being made in any country to support more rigorous educational programs as evidenced in history. In all policies and plans, some important foundations are considered as essential for the required level of learners. Being a Muslim nation, Pakistan has always thought of a strong base of Islam because it is a fundamental element in the preparation of any policy. This study aims to provide a review of each educational policy setting from 1947 to the 2009 instructive plan. The main findings of the study are that all of these plans have some good suggestions for providing information on Muslim qualities, but ironically, steps related to Islamic knowledge are taken for granted. Only 1978 policy has given stress on Islamic Education and the establishment of institutions like Maktab School etc. So in the light of the evaluation, it is suggested that strong preparations has to be made to give greater attention to Islamic knowledge for secondary level learners because multicultural development occurs at this stage and it is necessary for good student behavior.

This research work is to explore the role, status and perception of female education with respect to a budgetary change in District Peshawar. Education changes people leadership and makes them live with flexibility. The objectives were (i) To find the perception of female education regarding socio economic status (ii) to know the role of women as mother, wife and daughter, is to be assessed. The research study was restricted to Peshawar. For the administration of the study tool, a random sampling technique was used. A simple random sample, of 240 participants, of Peshawar District was chosen randomly. The main findings of the study included: (1) Somewhere between 5,001 and 10,000 Rs, wages of a mind sweeping number of respondents were consistent. In all cases, most respondents earned different settlement wells to Rs.5000; (2) the mostly respondents ensured criticality for the female as the directorate deals with budgetary problems and personality

The main purpose of this research study was to find out challenges of novice teachers affecting their performance and suggest measures to control their attrition. Population of the study comprised all novice teachers of public sector girls secondary schools of Sahiwal, Okara and Pakpattan districts. Sample of the study consisted on 206 novice teachers randomly selected from 45 schools out of population. A self-developed questionnaire consisted on Five - point Likert scale was used to collect data, which was organized, tabulated, analyzed and interpreted by using mean score, frequency score, percentage, standard deviation and t-value. It was found that lack of conducive school environment, non-supportive head teachers attitude, lack of pedagogical skills and students disruptive behavior create hindrances for novice teachers to perform their duties in better ways. It was recommended that provision of head teachers supportive attitude and conducive school environment prove helpful in novice teachers job retention.

Pakistan is an agro-economy country where hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) pesticides are being used to improve crop productivity, as a result the risk of contamination of soil and sediment has been increased. HCH exhibits all the characteristics of persistent organic pollutants (POP), and was therefore added to the list of ‘new POPs’ in 2009. This review report revealed that the major rivers of Pakistan such as the Indus Basin, River Ravi, River Chenab and their tributaries all are contaminated with HCH and the highest residual concentration (4,090 ng/g) was detected in a pesticide burial ground in Hyderabad city. Major sources of HCH contamination were identified as agricultural runoff, discharge of untreated industrial effluents and surface runoff. In order to manage HCH pollution, various ex-situ and in-situ remediation techniques along with their merits and demerits are thoroughly reviewed. Among these, microbial bioremediation is a low cost, environment friendly, effective in-situ remediation technique for remediation of HCH. Overall, the information provided in this manuscript will provide a future reference to the scientific community and bridge the knowledge gap between HCH release in the environment and their mitigation through proper treatment methods. HIGHLIGHTS Hexachlorocyclohexane is most widely pesticide and toxic to environment.; Hexachlorocyclohexane as persistent organic pollutants contaminates fresh water resources and pose a potential risk to ecosystem.; Pakistan's major rivers and tributaries are contaminated hexachlorocyclohexane.; Appropriate treatment of water and mitigation policies are required.

Currently, for improving students' learning, the focus is made solely on teaching strategies whereas assessment is practiced just for auditing and overlooks the improvement in students' learning. To this effect, a qualitative approach is executed to showcase teachers' perceptions regarding the use of classroom assessment practices for students' overall development. The sample of the study comprises 20 teachers, randomly selected, from five public sector universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Relevant data were collected through semi-structured interview schedules while analyzed by adopting thematic approach. Cultural sensitivity was ensured during data collection process. The results revealed that teachers strongly asserted the use of classroom assessment practices for students' overall development. Teachers' emphasized that there is a need to equip the students with life-essential skills as the more students participate in classroom assessment practices, the more they will be able to develop skills and perform effectively in a real-life situation.

This research study is based on the literature review through documentary analysis. In this study it is aimed to find out the impact of formative and feedback assessment in Higher Education in Pakistan. Assessment is a key role to enhance both teaching and learning and is needed in assuring the nature of training development, including analytic testing, strategies are related to formal and no formal assessment strategies directed by teachers amid the learning procedure with the end goal to adjust educating and learning exercises to enhance understudy achievement. Input is the best apparatus when started by the understudy, related to self and associate to assessment. The study was discussed in detail through theoretical framework on nature formative feedback and formative assessment. It is well up to the mark and standard policy documented about the assessment that has a great influence on the teaching and learning process.

Education entails much significance and prominence for building a nation. Every country has certain policies and planning in terms of how their education system should work. Since Pakistan has been independent of Islamic values and religious autonomy, Islamic education is the fundamental and most crucial element. In this regard, this research paper has aimed to discover the timeline of how Islamic education was integrated into the Pakistani curriculum. The research findings have suggested that the educational policies of Pakistan from 1969 to date are emphasizing the inclusion of Islamic education into the modern secular system. However, most Islamic-educated colleges are not effectively addressing Islamic education as required in national policies as part of the compulsory part of the curriculum. Nevertheless, a more effective balance between secular education and Islamic education is found between new Islamic integrated schools to prepare students for the challenges of this globalized world.

This research is a critical study of instructional topics and their effectiveness in the subject of Education taught in colleges at graduate level vis-à-vis our current needs and the advancements in this field through research in all over the world. It also emphasizes the importance of curriculum review and revision for overcoming obstacles in curriculum development. The methodology of this study was a survey based or enquiry into the need and scope of subject of Education in our society. Secondly the existing curriculum had been analyzed form data interpretation. The target population for this study is the teachers and the students of all those government and private colleges in Karachi that offer Education as a subject at graduate level. Out of those, 24 government colleges and 7 private colleges had been selected for the survey questionnaire.607 respondents including 57 teachers and 550 students were randomly selected from the colleges. The questionnaires were used as a research tool. The collected data was interpreted and evaluated through chi-square statistical tool. In the light of results recommendations were presented to update the curriculum and adjust to the changing trends of this modern and growing world.

To improve the efficacy of existing classes of antibiotics (ciprofloxacin), allow dose reduction, and minimize related toxicity, this study was executed becausenew target-oriented livestock antimicrobials are greatly needed to battle infections caused by multidrug-resistant (MDR) strains. The present study aims to green synthesize a biocompatible nanohybrid of ciprofloxacin (CIP)-Ag/TiO2/chitosan (CS). Silver and titanium nanoparticles were green synthesized using Moringa concanensis leaves extract. The incorporation of silver (Ag) nanoparticles onto the surface of titanium oxidenanoparticles (TiO2NPs) was done by the wet chemical impregnation method, while the encapsulation of chitosan (CS) around Ag/TiO2 conjugated with ciprofloxacin (CIP) was done by the ionic gelation method. The synthesized nanohybrid (CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS) was characterized using standard techniques. The antibacterial potential, killing kinetics, cytotoxicity, drug release profile, andminimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) were determined. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) revealed spherical agglomerated nanoparticles (NPs) of Ag/TiO2 with particle sizes of 47–75 nm, and those of the CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS nanohybrid were in range of 20–80 nm. X-ray diffractometer(XRD)patterns of the hetero system transmitted diffraction peaks of anatase phase of TiO2 and centered cubic metallic Ag crystals. Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) confirmed the Ti-O-Ag linkage in the nanohybrid. The zeta potential of CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS nanohybrid was found (67.45 ± 1.8 mV), suggesting stable nanodispersion. The MIC of CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS was 0.0512 μg/mL, which is much lower than the reference value recorded by the global CLSI system (Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute). The CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS nanohybrid was found to be effective against mastitis causing MDR E. coli, killing kinetics showed an excellent reduction of E. coli cells at 6 h of treatment. Flow cytometry further confirmed antibacterial potential by computing 67.87% late apoptosis feature at 6 h of treatment, antibiotic release kinetic revealed a sustained release of CIP. FESEM and TEM confirmed the structural damages in MDR E. coli (multidrug-resistant Escherichia coli). The CIP-Ag/TiO2/CS nanohybrid was found to be biocompatible, as more than 93.08% of bovine mammary gland epithelial cells remained viable. The results provide the biological backing for the development of nanohybrid antibiotics at a lower MIC value to treat infectious diseases of cattle and improve the efficacy of existing classes of antibiotics by conjugation with nanoparticles.

Quality education is one of the key indicators for economic development of a country. Consequently, most developing countries have committed themselves in several international forums not only to provide education but also to make it a basic right for everyone. So far, several developing countries have managed to make giant leaps towards this direction. For instance, provision of basic education has been made free and compulsory in countries like Pakistan and Kenya beside other countries. The purpose of this research paper is to analyze the different approaches used in teaching preschoolers in developing countries and to understand how to improve the quality of education through integrating those approaches.it relies on qualitative research method and is basically based on secondary data. The focus of this research is on different methods or approaches used in teaching preschoolers, their effectiveness, and that of an integrated system or approach. It discovered that integrating the different approaches leads to a better-quality education as compared to using each approach separately.

In this study analysis of soil, water and plant residue samples is presented to evaluate the contamination levels and possible health risks. Hexachlorocyclohexane (HCH) is a persistent organic pollutant used as a pesticide in agricultural sector for pest control in order to obtain higher productivity. For analysis soil, water and crop residue samples were collected from different agricultural areas of the northern Punjab region of Pakistan. The investigation of the samples shows significant levels of HCH residues in all types of samples. Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry analysis was used to assess the higher residue levels of HCH in the samples. The concentration of HCH residues detected in samples ranged from 2.43 to 8.88 µg/g in soil, nd -5.87 µg/l in water and nd - 4.87 µg/g in plants. The presence of HCH residues in soil, water and plant samples was beyond the recommended quality guidelines. Human health risk was evaluated for cancer and non-cancer risks through dietary and non-dietary exposure routes. The hazard index was HI 1 in children and HI 1 in adults, while the non-dietary incremental lifetime cancer risks (ILCR) were beyond the internationally acceptable limit of 1 × 10

Motivation is a key aspect of every workplace if the workforce is to function effectively and efficiently. This study explores that leadership in higher institutions of education in KPK Pakistan, looking at a typical set of 12 male and 12 female higher institutes. The aim was to offer a picture of the current situation, as perceived by principals and teachers, and to explore differences in their perceptions. The views of the Heads of the Institutions (Principals) and a sample of their teachers were gathered using a questionnaire. This suggests that there may well be two very different kinds of motivations atmospheres in the sample of colleges surveyed. Secondly, where teachers tend to respond well to a supportive, affirmative approach on the leadership, where they feel valued and good work is praised, as well as being given the freedom and trust to innovate, the Principals tend to a more authoritarian approach.

The study investigated family interference with work conflict (FIW) among female teachers based on selected demographic variables and its impact on their job performance; with job performance as the dependent variable and FIW the independent variable. The data was gathered from 295 female teachers from fifteen FEF girls’ degree colleges across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through a survey questionnaire of 42 closed-end items on five-point Likert scale. Of the total 295 teachers, 220 respondents including 177 married and 43 unmarried returned the questionnaire. The findings divulged that the teachers faced FIW with different magnitude based on various demographic factors and has an adverse impact on their job performance. The findings are useful for researchers, policy makers, teacher and employers as they give an insight into the female teachers’ problems in their efforts of balancing their roles in family and work domains

Explore the Role of Educational Heads Regarding Secondary Schools: Perspective of Problems, Difficulties and Issues Syed Shafqat Ali Shah* Waqar Un Nisa Faizi† Abdul Majeed Khan‡ Education is a positive endeavor and a financial expenditure; generally considered to be a kind of training for life. The key objectives were (a) to examine the administrative problems of secondary school heads (b) to compare the problems of the secondary schools in the rural and the urban areas. The study population was all of the Gujrat District Secondary Schools. The research sample was 64 secondary schools, 32 of which were rural and 32 were urban. Out of 32 schools in the rural 16 boys and 16 girls were further educated. Similarly, boys were sixteen and girls were sixteen out of 32 urban schools. For the educational heads of secondary schools, a questionnaire was created for data collection. For the purpose of the analysis, the percentages are used. The key purpose of the study was to identify the administrative problems, faced by high school heads that were not in fact adequately responding to the needs of the students.

The research was conducted with the intent to analyze authorization and quality development procedure for the open Distant Education system that is adopted in Pakistan. The Higher Education Commission in Pakistan has implemented various strategies for assuring a high level of quality education is provided. One of the efforts includes reorganizing the infrastructure of the educational institutes for its proficient implementation. The research method adopted in it is of qualitative nature which constitutes of analyzing various literature and evaluating the responses of questions gathered from the 21 Heads of Department. The responses were also generated from the four public universities in which the randomly selected answers were of forty students. The responses were studied to evaluate their perception, prospection, and the difficulties they perceive are associated with the methods and services adopted for improving educational quality in Pakistan. The study suggests that the quality enhancement follows an outline which is based on the fundamentals of making students nurture on the international viewpoint, educational quality standards and ownership standards, self-determination and relations, improving the student's knowledge quality and integrating all the parties associated for the formation of an effective system.
