A 1178 J near diffraction limited 527 nm laser is realized in a complete closed-loop adaptive optics (AO) controlled off-axis multi-pass amplification laser system. Generated from a fiber laser and amplified by the pre-amplifier and the main amplifier, a 1053 nm laser beam with the energy of 1900 J is obtained and converted into a 527 nm laser beam by a KDP crystal with 62% conversion efficiency, 1178 J and beam quality of 7.93 times the diffraction limit (DL). By using a complete closed-loop AO configuration, the static and dynamic wavefront distortions of the laser system are measured and compensated. After correction, the diameter of the circle enclosing 80% energy is improved remarkably from 7.93DL to 1.29DL. The focal spot is highly concentrated and the 1178 J, 527 nm near diffraction limited laser is achieved.

The stacked array piezoelectric deformable mirror (DM) used in adaptive optics (AO) systems usually has actuator-corresponding high-frequency temperature-induced distortion (TID) on its mirror surface when the working temperature is different from the design temperature, which is harmful to beam quality. To effectively eliminate the actuator-corresponding high-frequency TID, we introduce a hybrid connection structure deformable mirror (H-DM), which adopts a magnetic connection structure besides the conventional adhesive connection structure. The TID characteristics of the H-DM are analyzed using the finite element method, and the wavefront compensation capability of the novel H-DM is also investigated in simulation. In the experiment, the initial surface shape and the TID characteristics of a lab-manufactured H-DM are measured. The experimental results show that the H-DM has a good initial surface shape, and no actuator-corresponding high-frequency distortion exists in the surface shape of the H-DM when the environment temperature changes. Thus it can be seen the TID could be well corrected by the H-DM itself, and thereby the environmental adaptability of the DM could be improved substantially.

In high-power laser facilities, the application of a traditional wavefront control method is limited under the influence of a continuous phase plate (CPP). In order to obtain a satisfactory far-field intensity distribution at the target of the beamline with the CPP, a novel deformable mirror (DM) resolution-matching-based two-stage wavefront sensorless adaptive optics method is proposed and demonstrated. The principles of the DM resolution-matching method and two-stage wavefront sensorless adaptive optics method are introduced, respectively. Based on the numerical model, the matching relationship between the actuator space of the DM and the spatial period of the CPP is investigated. By using the resolution-matched DM, the feasibility of the two-stage wavefront sensorless adaptive optics method is numerically and experimentally verified. Both the numerical and the experimental results show that the presented DM resolution-matching-based two-stage wavefront sensorless adaptive optics method could achieve the target focal spot control under the influence of the CPP, and the profile and the intensity uniformity of the corrected focal spot are optimized close to the designed ideal focal spot.

Accurate and high dynamic range measurement of the three attitude variations (i.e., displacement, pitch, yaw angles) has been widely researched based on various approaches to meet different application requirements. However, none of the existing methods can detect these three attitude variations at the same time. This paper proposes a method based on a classical phase measuring deflectometry (PMD) system and a double iteration algorithm to simultaneously measure the three variations of the output mirror in a laser resonator. The relationship between the attitude variations and the lateral displacement parameters (LDP) of the imaged structural fringes is derived in the PMD system. Through the established relationship, the attitude variations could be calculated once the LDP are detected. Furthermore, a two-step measuring scheme combining the four-step shifting phase and the color-coded fringe is proposed to effectively detect the LDP. Finally, an experiment is conducted to verify the feasibility of the proposed method.

A hybrid adaptive optics (AO) system with an influence function (IF) optimization method is presented for high precision wavefront correction of a traditional Shack-Hartmann AO system. The hybrid AO system consists of a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor (SHWFS) and a deflectometry system (DS) to measure the wavefront of the laser beam and the IF of the deformable mirror, respectively. An IF optimization method is used to generate a hybrid IF (H-IF) through a position-calibration algorithm and a resolution-conversion algorithm by use of the original IFs measured by the SHWFS (S-IF) and the DS (D-IF). Configuration of the hybrid AO system is introduced. Principles and calculation results of the IF optimization method are presented. Comparison of the wavefront correction ability between the H-IF and the original IF is carried out in simulation. Closed-loop performance of the hybrid AO system using the H-IF is investigated in experiment. Simulation and experiment results show that for a traditional Shack-Hartmann AO system, the H-IF has better correction ability than the original S-IF and the IF optimization method could help improve closed-loop performance without sacrificing the simplicity of the system structure and the rapidity of the closed-loop correction.

The SG-Ⅲ laser facility (SG-Ⅲ) is the largest laser driver for inertial confinement fusion (ICF) researches in China, which has 48 beamlines and can deliver 180 kJ ultraviolet laser energy in 3 ns. In order to meet the requirements of precise physics experiments, some new functionalities need to be added to SG-Ⅲ and some intrinsic laser performances need upgrade. So at the end of SG-Ⅲ's engineering construction, the 2-year laser performance upgrade project started. This paper will introduce the newly added functionalities and the latest laser performance of SG-Ⅲ. With these function extensions and performance upgrade, SG-Ⅲ is now fully prepared for precise ICF experiments and solidly paves the way towards fusion ignition. In order to elucidate the mechanisms underlying the biobehavioral factors responsible for cervical cancer from the perspective of lncRNAs. Tumor samples were obtained from patients with stage Ib-IIb squamous cervical cancer, which were divided into high- and low-risk groups according to biobehavioral risk factors. A lncRNA + mRNA microarray was performed, and the results were validated using qRT-PCR. Gene ontology (GO), pathway, and lncRNA-mRNA co-expression analysis were performed to predict the potential functions of the differentially expressed transcripts. 1,621 lncRNAs and 1,345 mRNAs were found to be differentially expressed between the high-risk and low-risk groups. The results of the qR-TPCR validation were in 100% agreement with the microarray analysis results. GO analysis revealed that the transcripts showing significantly different expression were mainly associated with various aspects of immune response. Pathway analysis indicated that systemic lupus erythematosus signaling was the most significantly down-regulated pathway in the high-risk group. Co-expression analysis indicated NONHSAT002712, NONHSAT095060, and TCONS_00026535 had significant correlations with ZNF683 and BTLA, which were found to be associated with the GO term "adaptive immune response". The levels of genome-wide lncRNAs are significantly altered in cervical tumors from patients with higher biobehavioral risk factors.

Adaptive optics is a real-time compensation technique using high speed support system for wavefront errors caused by atmospheric turbulence. However, the randomness and instantaneity of atmospheric changing introduce great difficulties to the design of adaptive optical systems. A large number of complex real-time operations lead to large delay, which is an insurmountable problem. To solve this problem, hardware operation and parallel processing strategy are proposed, and a high-speed adaptive optical control system based on DSP is developed. The hardware counter is used to check the system. The results show that the system can complete a closed loop control in 7.1ms, and improve the controlling bandwidth of the adaptive optical system. Using this system, the wavefront measurement and closed loop experiment are carried out, and obtain the good results.

In this talk, we propose and demonstrate the process-oriented adaptive optics wavefront control method, for optimizing the beam quality in the multi-pass amplifiers. Different from the conventional target-oriented wavefront control approach, the novel method divides the aberration correction process into several steps, to optimize the wavefront quality in time during the courses of the beam's transport and amplification. The experiments validate that the novel approach can effectively prevent the beam quality from worsening and ensure the successful reality of multi-pass amplification.

In this Letter, temporal self-modifying behavior of amplitude modulation pulse propagation characteristics in multiphoton absorbers is presented by solving the underlying theoretical model coupling the propagation equation with the rate equations. The characteristics of the output temporal shapes are of primary concern and are discussed in detail. Amplitude modulation suppressing effects of multiphoton absorbers are numerically demonstrated; they have not been reported previously, to our knowledge. By taking a time resolved absorption coefficients, the corresponding physical mechanism is explicitly interpreted.

The shooting accuracy of cluster laser is an important indicator to evaluate the performance of ICF laser devices. By measuring the distribution of the X-ray generated from interaction between the third-harmonic beam and the target, the position information of the third-harmonic beam to the target can be obtained, along with the shooting accuracy. In the beam transmission process, the fundamental, second-harmonic beams and the third-harmonic beams approach to the target at the same time generating spurious X-ray. Based on the radiation fluid, the present paper is to assess the effect of the stray light on the performance of the shooting accuracy. The intensity distribution and power density of the fundamental, second-harmonic and third-harmonic beams at the target position were calculated for the SG-III laser device using SG-99 software. The characteristics of X-ray generated by the different beams radiation are simulated by one-dimensional radiation fluid program MULTI 1D. The results show that the power density of the fundamental, the second-harmonic and third-harmonic beams at the target position are, under the condition of typical shooting precision test (infused fundamental energy of 50J and pulse width is 200ps) 0.28GW / s / cm2 , 0.14GW / s / cm2 , 99GW / s / cm2 , respectively. The X-ray energy intensity radiated from the interaction between the third-harmonic beam and target is 104 times of that from the fundamental, second-harmonic beam. In the current optical system configuration conditions of SG-III laser device, the effects of the fundamental and second-harmonic beams on the target accuracy test can be ignored.

In direct drive ICF, optical zooming is an effective way to mitigate cross-beam energy transfer and increase the hydrodynamic efficiency, by reducing the spot size of the laser beams while target compressing. In this paper, a novel optical zooming scheme is proposed, which employs a focusing grating to focus the broadband laser pulse, changing the spot size on the target within single beamlet. Experimentally, a focusing grating with clean aperture of 40-mm × 40-mm placed after the collimated light successfully realized the peak-valley of defocusing wavefront distribution of 0.73 µm as the wavelength ranging from 1052.43 nm to 1053.23 nm. Extended to the full-sized focusing grating with laser beam of 360-mm × 360-mm, it is derived that the focal spot reduction reaches to 21.8% with the 3rd harmonic light ranging from 350.81 nm to 351.08 nm, decreasing from 375 µm to 294 µm with 300 µm shaping continuous phase plate.

Through analysis of near-field beam profiles, we propose a method using Shannon entropy to assess the development of small-scale self-focusing during laser propagation and amplification in high-power laser systems. In this method, the entropy curve that corresponds to increasing B integral displays an evident turning point at which small-scale self-focusing starts to rapidly develop. In contrast to classical methods using contrast, modulation, or power spectral density, the proposed method provides the B integral criterion more clearly and objectively. This approach is an optimization method that can be utilized in the design and operation of high-power laser systems.

SG-III laser facility is now the largest laser driver for inertial confinement fusion research in China. The whole laser facility can deliver 180 kJ energy and 60 TW power ultraviolet laser onto target, with power balance better than 10%. We review the laser system and introduce the SG-III laser performance here.

The high power solid laser system is becoming larger and higher energy that requires the beam automatic alignment faster and higher precision to ensure safety running of laser system and increase the shooting success rate. This paper take SGIII laser facility for instance, introduce the basic principle of automatic alignment of large laser system. The automatic alignment based on digital image processing technology which use the imaging of seven-classes spatial filter pinholes for feedback to working. Practical application indicates that automatic alignment system of cavity mirror in SGIII facility can finish the work in 210 seconds of four bundles and will not exceed 270 seconds of all six bundles. The alignment precision promoted to 2.5% aperture from 8% aperture. The automatic alignment makes it possible for fast and safety running of lager laser system.

Beam alignment of multi-pass amplification is based on cavity mirror alignment. To optimize multi-segmental parallel cavity mirror alignment arithmetic of high power solid-state lasers, propose a new type of arithmetic of multi-pass beam path cavity mirror based on diffraction symmetry, and the accuracy of multi-pass amplification beam path alignment is improved by 10μrad up to 3.96μrad. The arithmetic avoids low accuracy of CM alignment caused by poor image quality, It makes SG-Ⅲ facility operate long term and properly.

Experiment of entire beam wavefront compensation was carried out in a beamline of a high power laser facility, and two adaptive optics systems with different intentions were applied in the chosen beamline. After correction, the far-filed irradiance distribution is concentrated evidently and the entrance rate of 3ω focal spot to a 500-μm hole is improved to be about 95% under number kilojoules energy.

Beam alignment is crucial to high-power laser facilities and is used to adjust the laser beams quickly and accurately to meet stringent requirements of pointing and centering. In this paper, a novel alignment method is presented, which employs data processing of the two-dimensional power spectral density (2D-PSD) for a near-field image and resolves the beam pointing error relative to the spatial filter pinhole directly. Combining this with a near-field fiducial mark, the operation of beam alignment is achieved. It is experimentally demonstrated that this scheme realizes a far-field alignment precision of approximately 3% of the pinhole size. This scheme adopts only one near-field camera to construct the alignment system, which provides a simple, efficient, and low-cost way to align lasers.

We demonstrate a novel approach termed target-phase-locking that could improve the entire beam wavefront quality of a 500 TW Nd3+:phosphate glass laser facility. The thermal and static wavefront from front-end to target is corrected by using one deformable mirror that receives feedback from both the focal-spot sensor and wavefront sensor, and only the main laser of the laser system is employed in the correction process, with auxiliary calibration light no longer necessary. As a result, a static focal spot with full width at half maximum of 8.87 × 5.74 µm is achieved, the thermal wavefront induced by flash-lamp-pumped Nd3+:phosphate glass is compensated with PV from 3.54–0.43 µm, and a dynamic focal spot with intensity exceeding 1020 W cm−2 is precisely predicted at the target with such an approach.

Objective: Cervical cancer is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer and the third leading cause of cancer death among females in developing countries. Depression is a vital psychological factor for tumor progression. Long noncoding RNAs(LncRNAs) are a novel group of gene regulators and may contribute to the disease development. Herein, the study aims to discover the mechanisms of psychoimmunological effect of depression on cervical carcinoma from the perspective of long noncoding ribonucleic acid. Methods: Six tumor tissues were obtained from Ib-IIa invasive squamous cell cervical carcinoma patients during laproscopic surgeries. They were divided into high-depressed group and low-depressed group according to the scoring system. LncRNA microarray experiments were performed. Expression levels of six lncRNA-mRNA pairs were confirmed by quantitative real-time PCR in other 20 patients’ materials. Results: We found that 1621 lncRNA transcripts are differently expressed between high-depressed and paired low-depressed samples, with 510 up-regulated and 1111 down-regulated (fold-change>2.0). Most of lncRNAs were found trans-regulated by three TFs with most credentiality: BCL11A,MEF2A and TBP. In the KEGG analysis, the most down-regulated mRNA involved was systemic lupus erythematosus (Maximun transcriptional domain coverage: 25.5%). In the LncRNA and mRNA Coexpression, the function of lncRNAs with most differently expressions was predicted in relationship with interleukin-1 receptor activity (Number of lncRNAs annotated: 15). Conclusions: Our study identified that genome-wide LncRNA profiles are significantly altered in cervical carcinoma patients with worse depressed profiles, and the psychoimmunological effect of tumor progression needs further investigation. In this paper, it is the first time to experimentally demonstrate the dependence of optical limiting performance of zinc phthalocyanine (ZnPc) dimethylformamide (DMF) solution on concentration and optical length. The optical limiting characteristics are measured at various concentrations and optical lengths. By employing a reverse saturable absorption (RSA) equation, the physical mechanism of such optical limiting is interpreted, leading to excellent agreement with the experimental results. The obtained results imply that the optical limiting effects are quite sensitive to both concentration and optical length, giving parameter guidance for designing optical limiter in practice.

Spatial filter is the key unit of high power solid laser system for nonlinear increase control. However, the plasma closure occurred in pinhole is easily happened when long pulse running which may reduce the beam quality. The optimum design of pinhole will meet the needs for long pulse running which is important for spatial filter application. This paper based the key problems, such as suppression of nonlinear growth and plasma closure, discussed the optimum design in three aspects: filter size design, geometry design and the material design. Provide the reasonable principle for pinhole design.

For beam passing through cavity mirror twice in multi-pass amplifier laser facility, deformable mirror is often applied at location of cavity mirror for the goal of improving correction range. However, multi-pass amplifier with U-turn for improving optical quality has its own feature different from other facilities. Beam has 90° rotation and size change between 1~2 pass and 3~4 pass propagation. A new mathematical method is described to prove the solution existence of cavity deformable mirror and the application of cavity deformable mirror is verified in XG-PW facility with U-turn reverser. The results are important for the adaptive optics system design of succeeding large-scale laser facility.

Five main problems of beam wavefront and farfield control in ICF laser driver are synthetically discussed, including control requirements, beam propagation principle, distortions source control, system design and adjustment optimization, active wavefront correction technology. We demonstrate that beam can be propagated well and the divergence angle of the TIL pulses can be improved to less than 60μrad with solving these problems, which meets the requirements of TIL. The results can provide theoretical and experimental support for wavefront and farfield control designing requirements of the next large scale ICF driver.

The feasibility of the closed-loop adaptive optic system based on laser far-field information was experimentally demonstrated, which can significantly increase the working efficiency of the multi-beamline high power solid laser facility. A stochastic parallel gradient descent algorithm with mean-radius cost function was applied in the adaptive optics that was installed in one chosen beamline in the SG-III laser facility. The far-field diameter from a reference laser was corrected from about 275 to 100??m, very close to the ideal limit of 75??m. Multiple-wavefront correction can be performed with this far-field detection based adaptive optics system, and the experimental result validates the practicability of the proposed system in the multi-beamline high power solid laser facilities.

Objectives Genistein is one of the main soy isoflavones in our daily diet. There were studies proving that high-dietary intake of genistein may relate to the low morbidity and mortality of prostate cancer (PCa) in the Asian population. Since there were few studies of plasma genistein level in the Chinese population, we performed this study to preliminarily evaluate the associations among plasma genistein, epidemiologic factors and PCa in a Chinese population. Methods Between 2012 and 2013, 100 men over the age of 40 underwent prostate biopsy for PCa at Huashan Hospital, Shanghai, China. Clinical information, epidemiologic information and blood samples were collected prior to biopsy for each patient. All patients underwent 10-core ultrasound-guided transperineal prostate biopsy, and the pathology results were collected after biopsy. We measured the plasma genistein concentration of the blood samples and analyzed the results along with the clinical and epidemiologic information. Results Among the 100 patients, 46 (46.0 %) were diagnosed with PCa.
