Abstract

Single particle spin-orbit interaction energy problem in nuclear shell structure is solved through negative harmonic oscillator in the self-similar-structure shell model (SSM) [4] and considering quarks' contributions on single particle spin and orbit momentum. The paper demonstrates that single particle motion in normal nuclei is described better by SSM negative harmonic oscillator than conventional shell model positive harmonic oscillator[1][2][3]. 6. Nuclear Shell Structure Evolution Theory

Abstract

The Self-similar-structure shell model (SSM) comes from the evolution of the conventional shell model (SM) and keeps the energy level of SM single particle harmonic oscillation motion. In SM, single particle motion is the positive harmonic oscillation and in SSM, the single particle motion is the negative harmonic oscillation. In this paper a nuclear evolution equation (NEE) is proposed. NEE describes the nuclear evolution process from gas state to liquid state and reveals the relations among SM, SSM and liquid drop model (DM). Based upon SSM and NEE theory, we propose the solution to long-standing problem of nuclear shell model single particle spin-orbit interaction energy . Abstract

Objective: As a pharmaceutical raw material, ferric chloride hexahydrate has been included in the British Pharmacopoeia, the European Pharmacopoeia (2008) and the United States Pharmacopoeia (2015), and there are detailed discussions on quality standards and testing methods. Ferric chloride hexahydrate has not been included in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. This study is the part of research to establish a spectrophotometric method for the determination of ferrous iron in ferric chloride hexahydrate. In this study, the two methods were discussed in detail, and the spectrophotometric method for detecting the content of ferrous iron in ferric chloride hexahydrate was proposed. Methods: The detection method on ferrous iron in ferric chloride hexahydrate among European pharmacopoeia, United States pharmacopoeia and Chemical Reagent Ferric Chloride Hexahydrate (HG/T3474-2014) of China's Chemical Industry were compared. The last two methods were not easy to operation. On the basis of the European pharmacopoeia, a method was proposed that after Fe3+ were screened with H3PO4, Fe2+ was measured by spectrophotometry, and the method was verified by experiments. Results and Conclusion: The spectrophotometry method is easy to operate and has good reproducibility. The content of ferrous iron can be calculated semi-quantitatively by masking ferric iron with H3PO4 and spectrophotometric determination of ferrous ion content. Therefore, the method established in this study can more clearly detect whether the ferrous content in ferric chloride hexahydrate is up to standard.

Abstract

In order to extend the conventional shell model calculation with harmonic oscillator bases to halo nuclei a self-similar-structure shell model(SSM) in which the single particle orbit has state(orbit)-dependent frequency was proposed. We do this by a rescaling of both the kinetic and potential energy term of the harmonic oscillator and a mean field imitation so that the physical mechanisms of both neutron skin and neutron halo as well as the bound state properties of Borromean nuclei such as 6He, 11Li and 14Be can be revealed in SSM.

Abstract

Relying on block-symbol spreading and judicious design of user codes, this paper builds on the generalized multicarrier (GMC) quasisynchronous CDMA system that is capable of multiuser interference (MUI) elimination and intersymbol interference (ISI) suppression with guaranteed symbol recovery, regardless of the wireless frequency-selective channels. GMC-CDMA affords an all-digital unifying framework, which encompasses single-carrier and several multicarrier (MC) CDMA systems. Besides the unifying framework, it is shown that GMC-CDMA offers flexibility both in full load (maximum number of users allowed by the available bandwidth) and in reduced load settings. A novel blind channel estimation algorithm is also derived. Analytical evaluation and simulations illustrate the superior error performance and flexibility of uncoded GMC-CDMA over competing MC-CDMA alternatives especially in the presence of uplink multipath channels.

Abstract

Clinical evidence suggests that cortical excitability is increased in depressives. We investigated its cellular basis in a mouse model of depression. In a modified version of forced swimming (FS), mice were initially forced to swim for 5 consecutive days and then were treated daily with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) or sham treatment for the following 4 weeks without swimming. On day 2 through day 5, the mice manifested depression-like behaviors. The next and last FS was performed 4 weeks later, which revealed a 4 week maintenance of depression-like behavior in the sham mice. In slices from the sham controls, excitability in cingulate cortex pyramidal cells was elevated in terms of membrane potential and frequencies of spikes evoked by current injection. Depolarized resting potential was shown to depend on suppression of large conductance calcium-activated potassium (BK) channels. This BK channel suppression was confirmed by measuring spike width, which depends on BK channels. Chronic rTMS treatment during the 4 week period significantly reduced the depression-like behavior. In slices obtained from the rTMS mice, normal excitability and BK channel activity were recovered. Expression of a scaffold protein Homer1a was reduced by the FS and reversed by rTMS in the cingulate cortex. Similar recovery in the same behavioral, electrophysiological, and biochemical features was observed after chronic imipramine treatment. The present study demonstrated that manifestation and disappearance of depression-like behavior are in parallel with increase and decrease in cortical neuronal excitability in mice and suggested that regulation of BK channels by Homer1a is involved in this parallelism.
