Abstract

An experiment for $p(^{14}\rm{C}$,$^{14}\rm{C}^{*}\rightarrow^{10}\rm{Be}+\alpha)\mathit{p}$ inelastic excitation and decay was performed in inverse kinematics at a beam energy of 25.3 MeV/u. A series of $^{14}\rm{C}$ excited states, including a new one at 18.3(1) MeV, were observed which decay to various states of the final nucleus of $^{10}\rm{Be}$. A specially designed telescope-system, installed around the zero degree, played an essential role in detecting the resonant states near the $\alpha$-separation threshold. A state at 14.1(1) MeV is clearly identified, being consistent with the predicted band-head of the molecular rotational band characterized by the $\pi$-bond linear-chain-configuration. Abstract

Background: Iliopsoas plane block (IPB) is a novel analgesic technique for hip surgery that retains quadriceps strength. However, evidence from randomized controlled trial is remains unavailable. We hypothesized that IPB, as a motor-sparing analgesic technique, could match the femoral nerve block (FNB) in pain management and morphine consumption, providing an advantage for earlier functional training in patients underwent hip arthroplasty. Methods: We recruited ninety patients with femoral neck fracture, femoral head necrosis or hip osteoarthritis who were scheduled for unilateral primary hip arthroplasty were recruited and received either IPB or FNB. Primary outcome was the pain score during hip flexion at 4 h after surgery. Secondary outcomes included quadriceps strength and pain scores upon arrival at post anesthesia care unit (PACU) and at 2, 4, 6, 24, 48 h after surgery, the first time out of bed, total opioids consumption, patient satisfaction, and complications. Results: There was no significant difference in terms of pain score during hip flexion at 4 h after surgery between the IPB group and FNB group. The quadriceps strength of patients receiving IPB was superior to those receiving FNB upon arrival at PACU and at 2, 4, 6 and 24 h after surgery. The IPB group showed a shorter first time out of bed compared to the FNB group. However, there were no significant differences in terms of pain scores within 48 h after surgery, total opioids consumption, patient satisfaction and complications between the two groups. Conclusion: IPB was not superior to FNB in terms of postoperative analgesia for hip arthroplasty. However, IPB could serve as an effective motor-sparing analgesic technique for hip arthroplasty, which would facilitate early recovery and rehabilitation. This makes IPB worth considering as an alternative to FNB. Abstract

To analyse the influence factors of impact peak force (IPF) and damage depth (DD) on potatoes, the orthogonal test and single factor test were carried out on two potato varieties. The results showed that the IPF of Xiabodi was smaller and DD was greater than those of Gaoyuanhong. Potato mass had the greatest effect on IPF, and that of drop height on DD. The equations between IPF, DD and potato mass, drop height were obtained. Both IPF and DD impacting with steel were the largest, and the smallest with steel- rubber. With the increase of impact times, IPF decreased first and then increased, and DD increased gradually.

Abstract

How to accurately and efficiently measure the profiles of the terrain on which agricultural machines operate has been an ongoing research topic. In this study, a surface profiling apparatus (profiler) was developed to measure agricultural terrain profiles along parallel tracks. The profiler is mainly composed of sensor frames, an RTK-GNSS system (Real Time Kinematics-Global Navigation Satellite Systems), laser sensors, an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensor and a data acquisition system. Along with a full description of how the terrain profiles were produced, a methodology to compensate for the tractor motion was included in the sensor data analysis. In field profiling validation, two trapezoidal bumps with known dimensions were used to assess the ability of the terrain profiler to reproduce the vertical profiles of the bumps, resulting in root mean square error (RMSE) of 3.6-4.7 mm and 4.5-5.1 mm with profiling speeds of 1.02 and 2.56 km/h, respectively. In addition, a validation test was also conducted on an asphalt road by profiling a flat road with the measuring wheels of the profiler rolling on the flat section but with the tractor wheels driving over a trapezoidal bump to excite the tractor pitch and roll motion. The measured profiles then also exhibited a flat road, which showed the ability of the profiler to remove the tractor motion from the profiling measurements.
