Photovoltaic–thermal (PVT) technology is gaining popularity due to the diminishing availability of traditional fossil fuels and escalating environmental concerns. Enhancing the heat dissipation of PVT to improve its electrical and thermal performance remains a significant task. This study simulates the thermodynamic and heat transfer characteristics in multiple novel PVT structures by examining the impact of various factors such as collector materials, radiation intensity, mass flow rate, and inlet temperature. This work also identifies the optimal mass flow rate for locations with different solar radiation. The numerical results indicate that the electrical efficiency of a designed cylindrical structure has increased by 1.73% while the thermal efficiency has increased by 8.29%. Aluminum is identified as the most cost-effective material for the collector. The optimal mass flow rates in selected locations of Xining, Taiyuan, and Turpan are 0.36 kg/s, 0.35 kg/s, and 0.30 kg/s, respectively. Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a highly heterogeneous disease that ranks first in morbidity and mortality. Abnormal arginine metabolism is associated with inflammatory lung disease and may influence alterations in the tumor immune microenvironment. However, the potential role of arginine and proline metabolic patterns and immune molecular markers in LUAD is unclear. Gene expression, somatic mutations, and clinicopathological information of LUAD were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Univariate Cox regression analysis was performed to identify metabolic genes associated with overall survival (OS). Unsupervised clustering divided the sample into two subtypes with different metabolic and immunological profiles. Gene set enrichment analysis (GESA) and gene set variation analysis (GSVA) were used to analyze the underlying biological processes of the two subtypes. Drug sensitivity between subtypes was also predicted; then prognostic features were developed by multivariate Cox regression analysis. In addition, validation was obtained in the GSE68465, and GSE50081 dataset. Then, gene expression, and clinical characterization of hub genes CPS1 and SMS were performed; finally, in vitro validation experiments for knockdown of SMS were performed in LUAD cell lines. In this study, we first identified 12 arginine and proline-related genes (APRGs) significantly associated with OS and characterized the clinicopathological features and tumor microenvironmental landscape of two different subtypes. Then, we established an arginine and proline metabolism-related scoring system and identified two hub genes highly associated with prognosis, namely CPS1, and SMS. In addition, we performed CCK8, transwell, and other functional experiments on SMS to obtain consistent results. Our comprehensive analysis revealed the potential molecular features and clinical applications of APRGs in LUAD. Novel physical phenomena arising from the complex interplay between the spin, charge, orbital, and lattice orders can emerge in perovskite-type oxide heterostructures. Here, we investigate the lattice and electronic structures on the interface of the YBa2Cu3O7/LaAlO3 heterostructure prepared by pulsed laser deposition with the combination of spherical aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy and density functional theory. Both reconstructed and normal interfaces are observed at sub-angstrom resolution, and these superconducting planes closest to the corresponding interface known as CuO2(a) and CuO2(c) planes, respectively. Due to the lattice reconstruction and charge density redistribution, CuO2(a) plane moves closer to the reconstructed interface with bond length of in-plane Cu and apical oxygen reduced. Consequently, the d3z2−r2 orbital loss electrons further results in two orbitals (dx2−y2 and d3z2−r2) crossing the Fermi level, showing two-band superconductivity behavior at the reconstructed interface. However, the CuO2(c) plane remains unaffected due to the protection of the charge reservoir layer at the normal interface and exhibits electronic structures similar to bulk cuprate superconductors, where only dx2−y2 orbitals contribute to the states at the Fermi level. These results suggest that the interfacial reconstruction might be a possible pathway to manipulate the electronic structures of the superconducting oxide heterostructures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In this work, we synthesize P-doped Ir metallene (P–Ir metallene) with rich defects as a highly active bifunctional catalyst towards the hydrogen evolution reaction and oxygen evolution reaction, requiring overpotentials of 28 and 279 mV to drive 10 mA cm−2 in 0.5 M H2SO4, respectively. Moreover, P–Ir metallene exhibits excellent electrocatalytic performance for overall water splitting, producing hydrogen at 10 mA cm−2 with a low operation voltage of 1.508 V. We have disclosed that 3,5-dimethyl-4-(2′-phenylethynylphenyl)phenyl (EPP) glycosides could be employed as glycosylation donors via an unprecedented activation mechanism. Here we report that the EPP glycosides without the 3,5-dimethyl groups, which were previously installed to prevent the plausible Friedel-Crafts-type side reactions, can also undergo glycosylation effectively. Herein, we propose the fabrication of polyethyleneimine-functionalized PdOs bimetallene (PdOs@PEI bimetallene) for the alkaline oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) via a wet-chemical method. The PdOs@PEI bimetallene has an ultra-thin and curved nanosheet structure that is conducive to providing more active sites and high conductivity and the bimetallic composition and PEI modification can tailor the electronic structure of PdOs bimetallene, leading to enhanced oxygen adsorption energy. Therefore, the PdOs@PEI bimetallene exhibits superior ORR activity, stability and durability to commercial Pt/C, highlighting the important role of the modified nitrogen-containing polymers in the enhancement of ORR performance. In this paper, we first formulate a hydrodynamically coupled phase-field model for triblock copolymer melts and then develop a time-marching scheme for it. The numerical scheme is based on a combination of the projection method and the IEQ (Invariant Energy Quadratization) method to achieve linear and second-order accuracy in time. To further simplify its implementation, we introduce a new nonlocal variable and its time evolution equation, so we end up with a fully decoupled scheme. Under the premise of satisfying strict unconditional energy stability, the scheme only needs to solve several completely independent elliptic equations with constant coefficients at each time step. We provide the rigorous energy stability proof, the detailed implementation of the proposed scheme, and further perform some numerical simulations of triblock polymer materials under applied shear flow in 2D and 3D to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed numerical scheme. Developing efficient catalysts that enhance electronic interactions between active metal sites is a promising strategy for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Herein, we report the preparation of a series of novel porous–calcium–silicate-supported (PCS-supported) Pt–MnOx bimetallic catalysts for the catalytic oxidation of toluene. The 0.1Pt–5MnOx/PCS catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity, exhibiting the lowest temperature (237 °C) for 90% toluene conversion (T90), the highest CO2 selectivity (94.29%), and excellent long-term stability and water resistance, which is primarily ascribable to strong electronic interactions between Pt and MnOx species. Partial electron transfer from MnOx to Pt through Pt–O–Mn bonds results in the formation of electron-rich Pt0 and Mn4+ species, thereby improving the active oxygen species content and enhancing low-temperature reducibility. The in situ DRIFTS technique proved that the possible reaction path of toluene combustion is toluene → benzaldehyde → benzoic acid → maleic anhydride → carbon dioxide and water. Herein, a universal approach is proposed to prepare a nitrogen-doped mesoporous Ru film with uniform pore size on nickel foam (N-mRu/NF) as an active bifunctional catalyst for energy-saving hydrogen production. The N-mRu/NF requires an ultrasmall overpotential of −60 and 62 mV to achieve 100 mA cm−2 for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and hydrazine oxidation reaction (HzOR), respectively. When used for HER-HzOR electrolysis, N-mRu/NF requires low voltages of 0.023 and 0.184 V at 10 and 100 mA cm−2, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aimed to reveal the anisotropic permeabilities of tight oil reservoirs impacted by heterogeneous minerals. SEM imaging, image processing, fractal calculation, microscopic reservoir modeling, and visual flow simulation were carried out to investigate the above problems. Results show that the variation coefficient of two-dimensional permeability for the studied tight reservoir samples ranges from 0.09 to 0.95, with an average value of 0.68. The penetration coefficient ranges from 1.16 to 2.64, with an average value of 2.13. The ratio of maximum to minimum permeability is between 1.25 and 7.67, with an average value of 5.62. The fluid flow in tight reservoirs has significant anisotropy comprising dominant flow through conductive channels. In AC microgrids (MGs), the required high control gain for dealing with control faults would reduce the robustness of the secondary control to communication constraints. To tackle with this problem, the subarea physical infrastructure of AC MGs and the two-layer secondary control framework are designed. For the physical infrastructure, the whole AC MG is divided into several areas, where each area is composed of a distributed generator (DG) and several geographical-close loads. Furthermore, by utilizing the advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), loads transmit the local load change information to the DG in the same area. Based on this physical infrastructure, a distributed event-triggered fixed-time fault-tolerant (ET-FTFT) secondary control framework is proposed in this paper to improve the resilience of the secondary control to sensor and actuator faults/attacks, and communication constraints, simultaneously. The adopted two-layer control framework is to decouple the communication constraints and control faults. The event-based strategy is adopted in the upper layer to reduce the communication burden and Zeno behavior can be evaded. Real-time simulations based on the NI-PXI real-time simulator validate the advantages of the distributed ET-FTFT secondary control framework, which are the better robustness to control faults, and the fixed-time convergence to improve the power quality. Recently, many distributed fault-tolerant (Di-FT) secondary controls have been designed to improve the robustness of the islanded AC microgrids (MGs) to actuator faults/attacks. However, some problems still exist among the existing research: (a) the convergence speed of the faulty MG's states has not been discussed, which is important for reducing the inter-harmonic component around the fundamental frequency thereby improving the power quality; (b) large computing and sampling resources are required by the relatively high control gain for dealing with the possible serious actuator faults. Therefore, a distributed event-triggered fixed-time (Di-ET-FT) fault-tolerant secondary control of the faulty islanded AC MG is designed in this paper to release the communication burden, save the computing resources, and achieve the fixed-time convergence speed for improving power quality simultaneously. The Di-ET-FT fault-tolerant secondary control has a two-layer control framework, which are the observer layer as the upper layer and the fault-tolerant control layer as the lower layer. Meanwhile, two event-triggered strategies are designed in these two layers to decrease sample/control updating numbers and communication numbers, respectively. Zeno behavior of the Di-ET-FT fault-tolerant secondary control can be evaded effectively by proving that the interevent time is lower bounded by a positive value. The C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4/C-X-C motif chemokine 12 (CXCR4/CXCL12) interaction plays an important role in orchestrating tumor cells and CAFs. We hereby investigated the feasibility and efficacy of [177Lu]Lu-DOTAGA.(SA.FAPi)2, a FAP-targeting radiopharmaceutical, in combination with AMD3100, a CXCR4 antagonist, in a preclinical murine model of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).Public database was first interrogated to reveal the correlation between CAFs’ scores and the prognosis of TNBC patients, as well as the expression levels of FAP and CXCR4 in normal tissues and tumors. In vitro therapeutic efficacy regarding cell proliferation, migration, and colony formation was assessed in BALB/3T3 fibroblasts and 4T1 murine breast cancer cells. In vivo therapeutic efficacy was longitudinally monitored using serial 18F-FDG, [18F]AlF-NOTA-FAPI-04, and [68Ga]Ga-DOTA-Pentixafor PET/CT scans and validated using tumor sections through immunohistochemical staining of Ki-67, α-SMA, CXCR4, and CXCL12. Intratumoral abundance of myeloid-derived suppressive cells (MDSCs) was analyzed using flow cytometry in accordance with the PET/CT schedules. Treatment toxicity was evaluated by examining major organs including heart, lung, liver, kidney, and spleen.CAFs’ scores negatively correlated with the survival of TNBC patients (p < 0.05). The expression of CXCR4 and FAP was both significantly higher in tumors than in normal tissues. As a newly discovered way of cell death, pyroptosis has been gradually discovered in acute and chronic kidney disease. Existing studies have shown that reactive oxygen species (ROS) can induce pyroptosis and release a large number of inflammatory mediators, resulting in kidney damage. As a transcription factor, transcription factor EB(TFEB) can regulate mitochondrial energy metabolism, reduce the production of ROS, and reduce the inflammatory damage of vascular endothelial cells. In a high-glucose environment, whether TFEB can regulate oxidative stress in HK-2 cells, thereby reducing pyroptosis, has not yet been studied. This study found that in HK-2 cells, with the prolongation of high concentration glucose stimulation, the expression level of TFEB showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing; and nuclear translocation of TFEB expression occurred within 24 h. In high-glucose environment, the expression of pyroptosis-related proteins gradually increased over time, while the expression of anti-oxidative stress proteins superoxide dismutase2(SOD2)and NAD(P)H: quinone oxidoreductase 1(NQO1) showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. After TFEB was transfected with overexpression plasmid, the expression levels of SOD2 and NQO1 increased significantly, and the expression of pyroptosis-related proteins decreased. Observed under a confocal microscope after Mitosox red staining, the expression of ROS in the TFEB overexpression group decreased. After down-regulating the expression of TFEB, the expression of ROS increased. Herein, a series of novel porous calcium silicate (PCS)-supported manganese oxide (MnOx) catalysts are first prepared by an impregnation method using three different manganese precursors (manganese acetate, manganese nitrate and manganese chloride) for toluene oxidation. We find that the catalyst prepared with manganese acetate (MnOx–Ac/PCS) exhibits the best catalytic performance with a T50 of 280 °C and a T90 of 302 °C, as well as the highest CO2 yield of 85.36%. The characterization techniques of N2 adsorption–desorption isotherms, XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, EPR and TPR are used to reveal the structure–activity relationships of these PCS-supported MnOx catalysts. The results demonstrate that the excellent catalytic performance of MnOx–Ac/PCS is related to the abundant oxygen vacancy and higher content of adsorbed oxygen, which can quickly replenish the consumed lattice oxygen during the reaction. Endocytosis and autophagy are two important pathways for amyloid‐β (Aβ) clearance in neuroglial cells. Our previous study demonstrated that nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) long noncoding RNA modulates Aβ clearance mediated by neuroglial cells via the epigenetic regulation of endocytosis‐related genes. Herein, we demonstrate that NEAT1 functions as an autophagy inducer by modulating the expression of multiple autophagy‐related genes, including autophagy‐related 5 (atg5), autophagy‐related 3 (atg3), and beclin1. NEAT1 can promote transcription of these genes by altering histone modification near these transcriptional start sites of the genes and thereby influencing the recruitment of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 to these gene promoters. In recent years, there have been numerous treatments for non-small cell lung cancer, but the cure and survival rates are still extremely low. Isobavachalcone (IBC) belongs to the chalcone component of the traditional Chinese medicine Psoralea corylifolia L., and is a unique Protein kinase B (AKT) pathway inhibitor with significant anticancer effects. Previous studies have shown that IBC possess a variety of biological properties, including anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. This study focused on the use of network pharmacology analysis, molecular docking technology and experimental validation to elucidate the potential mechanisms of IBC for the treatment of NSCLC. Screening key genes and pathways of IBC action in NSCLC using network pharmacology. The IBC target genes were from The Encyclopedia of Traditional Chinese Medicine (ETCM) and BATMAN-TCM databases, the NSCLC target genes were from GeneCards, Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM) and The Therapeutic Target database (TTD) databases, both of which were taken as intersecting genes for protein–protein interaction network analysis and enrichment analysis, and the binding energies of the compounds to the core targets were further verified by molecular docking. Cell lines in vitro experiments were then performed to further unravel the mechanism of IBC for NSCLC. A total of 279 potential targets were retrieved by searching the intersection of IBC and NSCLC targets. Protein-protein interaction (PPI) network analysis indicated that 6 targets, including AKT1, RXRA, NCOA1, RXRB, RARA, PPARG were hub genes. Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis suggested that IBC treatment of NSCLC mainly involves steroid binding, transcription factor activity, Pathways in cancer, cAMP signaling pathway, Adenosine 5'-monophosphate (AMP)-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway. Among them, the AMPK signaling pathway, which contained the largest number of enriched genes, may play a greater role in the treatment of NSCLC. Then, the results of in vitro experiment indicated that IBC could inhibit proliferation of NSCLC cells and induce cell autophagy and apoptosis. The results also showed that IBC could increase the protein expression of AMPK and decrease the protein expression of AKT and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), suggesting that IBC can treat NSCLC by inducing cellular autophagy and apoptosis as well as modulating AMPK and AKT signaling pathways. The vinyl chloride aldehyde within the B3 structure engages in a nucleophilic addition reaction with SO 2 , contributing to B3 ′s exceptional selectivity for SO 2 , and fast response time within 9 s. Furthermore, by integrating B3 with a microplate reader, we effectively achieved high-throughput detection of SO 2 concentration up to 45 μM within a pH range of 5.5 to 8.0 in real food samples. Numbers of nuclear speckles and paraspeckles components have been demonstrated to regulate herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) replication. However, how HSV-1 infection affects the two nuclear bodies, and whether this influence facilitates the expression of viral genes, remains elusive. In the current study, we found that HSV-1 infection leads to a redistribution of speckles and paraspeckles components. Serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 2 (SRSF2), the core component of speckles, was associated with multiple paraspeckles components, including nuclear paraspeckles assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1), PSPC1, and P54nrb, in HSV-1 infected cells. This association coordinates the transcription of viral genes by binding to the promoters of these genes. By association with the enhancer of zeste homolog 2 (EZH2) and P300/CBP complex, NEAT1 and SRSF2 influenced the histone modifications located near viral genes. Unenhanced CT scans exhibit high specificity in detecting moderate-to-severe hepatic steatosis. Even though many CTs are scanned from health screening and various diagnostic contexts, their potential for hepatic steatosis detection has largely remained unexplored. The accuracy of previous methodologies has been limited by the inclusion of non-parenchymal liver regions. To overcome this limitation, we present a novel deep-learning (DL) based method tailored for the automatic selection of parenchymal portions in CT images. This innovative method automatically delineates circular regions for effectively detecting hepatic steatosis. We use 1,014 multinational CT images to develop a DL model for segmenting liver and selecting the parenchymal regions. The results demonstrate outstanding performance in both tasks. By excluding non-parenchymal portions, our DL-based method surpasses previous limitations, achieving radiologist-level accuracy in liver attenuation measurements and hepatic steatosis detection. To ensure the reproducibility, we have openly shared 1014 annotated CT images and the DL system codes. Our novel research contributes to the refinement the automated detection methodologies of hepatic steatosis on CT images, enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of healthcare screening processes. A novel distributed-decentralized fixed-time optimal frequency and excitation (Di-De-FTOFE) control framework in a network-preserving power system with nonlinear power flow is proposed in this paper. Firstly, to obtain the solution of the economic dispatch (ED) problem, the proposed control framework contains the distributed fixed-time consensus-based optimal frequency (Di-FTCOF) control to make the Lagrange multiplier of each generation reach consensus in a fixed time and the decentralized fixed-time excitation (De-FTE) control to ensure the power system frequency back to the rated value in a fixed time for satisfying the load-generation balance constraints of ED problem. Secondly, the voltage dynamic also can be maintained around the rated value by the designed De-FTE control which owns good universality to coordinate other optimal frequency control methods. Histone crotonylation is a recently described post-translational modification that occurs at multiple identified histone lysine crotonylation sites. An increasing number of studies have demonstrated that histone crotonylation at DNA regulatory elements plays an important role in the activation of gene transcription. However, among others, we have shown that elevated cellular crotonylation levels result in the inhibition of endocytosis-related gene expression and pro-growth gene expression, implicating the complexity of histone crotonylation in gene regulation. Therefore, it is important to understand how histone crotonylation is regulated and how it, in turn, regulates the expression of its target genes. Nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) is a long non-coding RNA that is widely expressed in a variety of mammalian cell types. An increasing number of studies have demonstrated that NEAT1 plays key roles in various biological and pathological processes; therefore, it is important to understand how its expression is regulated and how it regulates the expression of its target genes. Recently, we found that NEAT1 expression could be regulated by signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 and that altered NEAT1 expression epigenetically regulates downstream gene transcription during herpes simplex virus-1 infection and Alzheimer's disease, suggesting that NEAT1 acts as an important sensor and effector during stress and disease development. In this review, we summarize and discuss the molecules and regulatory patterns that control NEAT1 gene expression and the molecular mechanism via which NEAT1 regulates the expression of its target genes, providing novel insights into the central role of NEAT1 in gene regulation. The elevated expression of immune checkpoints by the tumor microenvironment is associated with poor prognosis in several cancers due to the exhaustion of tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs), and the effective suppression of the expression of these genes is key to reversing the exhaustion of TILs. Herein, we determined that serine/arginine-rich splicing factor 2 (SRSF2) is a target for blocking the tumor microenvironment-associated immunosuppressive effects. We found that the expression of SRSF2 was increased in exhausted T cells and that SRSF2 was involved in multiple immune checkpoint molecules mediating TILs' exhaustion. Furthermore, SRSF2 was revealed to regulate the transcription of these immune checkpoint genes by associating with an acyl-transferases P300/CBP complex and altering the H3K27Ac level near these genes, thereafter influencing the recruitment of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) to these gene promoters. Collectively, our data indicated that SRSF2 functions as a modulator of the anti-tumor response of T cells and may be a therapeutic target for reversing the exhaustion of TILs. Power system transient stability control is gaining huge attention in present time. Inspired by the consistency theory of multi-agent system, a distributed finite-time frequency control framework is presented to improve the frequency dynamic of the transient process by adjusting the steam valving. The stability of the proposed distributed frequency control scheme is ensured by including the Lyapunov-based constraints. The communication delay is fully considered in the deigned distributed frequency control framework which has no limitations on communication delay by fully utilizing the local information. Meanwhile, the proposed cyber-physical topology divides the power system into several clusters according to the physical coupling between generators. The designed distributed control scheme based on the proposed cyber-physical topology owns the capability to defend denial-of-service (DoS) attacks which may influence the performance of distributed control scheme, which is also presented in theoretical proof. The designed voltage control based on the direct feedback linearization method can be applied to coordinate all existing frequency controls, in the premise of the system stability. The performance of the proposed control scheme is evaluated under the cases of different communication delays and DoS attacks through the simulation on New England 39-bus system. Motivation Prediction of peptide binding to the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) plays a vital role in the development of therapeutic vaccines for the treatment of cancer. Algorithms with improved correlations between predicted and actual binding affinities are needed to increase precision and reduce the number of false positive predictions. Results We present ACME (Attention-based Convolutional neural networks for MHC Epitope binding prediction), a new pan-specific algorithm to accurately predict the binding affinities between peptides and MHC class I molecules, even for those new alleles that are not seen in the training data. Extensive tests have demonstrated that ACME can significantly outperform other state-of-the-art prediction methods with an increase of the Pearson correlation coefficient between predicted and measured binding affinities by up to 23 percentage points. In addition, its ability to identify strong-binding peptides has been experimentally validated. Moreover, by integrating the convolutional neural network with attention mechanism, ACME is able to extract interpretable patterns that can provide useful and detailed insights into the binding preferences between peptides and their MHC partners. All these results have demonstrated that ACME can provide a powerful and practically useful tool for the studies of peptide–MHC class I interactions. Engineering of multicomponent heterostructures can yield exceptional functionalities and enhance electrocatalytic activities by a synergistic effect. Herein, Ni5P2 nanoparticle-decorated mesoporous PtRu film on Ni foam (Ni5P2-mPtRu/NF) has been synthesized via a facile two-step strategy. Ni5P2-mPtRu/NF possesses a well-developed continuous mesoporous structure and strong electronic interaction between Ni5P2 and PtRu, exhibiting an enhanced electrocatalytic performance towards an alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Ni5P2-mPtRu/NF achieves a current density of 10 mA cm−2 at an overpotential of 28.8 mV and a low Tafel slope of 56.5 mV dec−1, and has excellent durability. Abstract A novel delay-adaptive control strategy is proposed to enhance the smart grid resilience and transient stability which combines the traditional governor-based control with the distributed energy storage system (DESS) control. In this paper, the communication delay is fully considered in the development of the controller, where the distributed control mode would convert to the decentralized control mode automatically in the case of large communication delay. Meanwhile, the effect from input delay of the DESS-based control is solved by Artstein transformation, which is firstly used in the transient stability control of the time delayed power system to reduce the time delayed state equation of power system into the delay-free state equation of power system. The stability of power system under the proposed control scheme is ensured based on the reduced power system model to improve the input delay characteristics of power system. The delay-adaptive governor-based control also accommodates to the case of a generator bus without any associated DESS. The accumulation of intracellular β-amyloid peptide (Aβ) is important pathological characteristic of Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, the exact underlying molecular mechanism remains to be elucidated. Here, we reported that Nuclear Paraspeckle Assembly Transcript 1 (NEAT1), a long n on-coding RNA, exhibits repressed expression in the early stage of AD and its down-regulation declines neuroglial cell mediating Aβ clearance via inhibiting expression of endocytosis-related genes. We find that NEAT1 is associated with P300/CBP complex and its inhibition affects H3K27 acetylation (H3K27Ac) and H3K27 crotonylation (H3K27Cro) located nearby to the transcription start site of many genes, including endocytosis-related genes. Interestingly, NEAT1 inhibition down-regulates H3K27Ac but up-regulates H3K27Cro through repression of acetyl-CoA generation. NEAT1 also mediates the binding between STAT3 and H3K27Ac but not H3K27Cro. Therefore, the decrease of H3K27Ac and/or the increase of H3K27Cro declines expression of multiple related genes. Collectively, this study first reveals the different roles of H3K27Ac and H3K27Cro in regulation of gene expression and provides the insight of the epigenetic regulatory mechanism of NEAT1 in gene expression and AD pathology. The abnormal changes of intracellular potassium ion (K+) concentration are usually associated with various diseases, therefore, real-time monitoring of intracellular K+ dynamic balance is crucial for disease research. Herein, we present a design strategy based on conjugated polymers (CPs) as potassium ion fluorescence probes. Six novel CP-based K+ sensors (P1 , P2 , P3 , PP1 , PP2 and PP3) were synthesized. These probes have different conjugated length backbones composing of stilbenzene, fluorene, thiophene, and/or benzothiadiazole units and different numbers of K+ selective ligands of triazacryptand (TAC), so as to study their spectral characteristics and response to K+. Among them, PP3 exhibits exceptional responsiveness and selectivity to K+. With a longer conjugated backbone, it shows a longer emission at 628 nm compared to other probes. Especially, the fluorescence intensities of PP3 showed a linear relationship with the concentrations of K+ in the range of 0–250 mM. PP3 has been successfully applied to detect the dynamic equilibrium of potassium ion concentration in living cells. This study proposes and validates the feasibility of the CP-based K+ fluorescence probe design strategy and expands the range of K+ probes, providing a new tool for understanding disease pathogenesis. Magnetic measurement by transmitted electrons at nanometer or even atomic scale is always an attractive and challenging issue in the transmission electron microscope. Electron magnetic circular dichroism, proposed in 2003 and realized in 2006, opens a new insight into the measurement of local magnetic properties. Later, it is developed into a powerful technique for quantitative magnetic measurement with site specificity and element specificity at high spatial resolution over years of efforts, both in the aspect of theory and experiments. The novel technique has been widely applied to the characterization of magnetic materials now. This present review gives an overview of its development and applications in the past fifteen years since its invention. The theory of electron magnetic circular dichroism and its development are reviewed. The diffraction geometry and experimental setups are summarized. The general way for quantitative measurement of magnetic parameters is presented with typical cases. Representative breakthroughs in method development and applications over a wide range of materials are then described. Finally, prospects for future development are briefly discussed. Abstract High glucose(HG)-induced oxidative stress and apoptosis in renal tubular epithelial cells play an important role in the pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy. Pyrroloquinoline quinine (PQQ), a new B vitamin, has been demonstrated to be important in antioxidant and anti-apoptotic effects. However, its effect on HK-2 cells and the potential mechanism are rarely investigated. In this study, we investigated that PPQ had protective effects against HG-induced oxidative stress damage and apoptosis in vitro model of diabetic nephropathy. PPQ at 10, 100, 500, 1000 and 10000 nM could protect HK-2 cell from HG-induced inhibition. The protective effects of PQQ were associated with increasing the level of antioxidants(SOD2, CAT), inhibition of reactive oxygen species(ROS) production, and dependent modulation of Bcl-2 family proteins. PPQ significantly upregulated the protein and mRNA expression of Sirtuin3(Sirt3) in HG-induced HK-2 cells. PPQ also reduced apoptosis in HG-induced HK-2 cells by the PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a signal pathway. As down-regulated sirt3 or inhibitory the activity of PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a pathway, the protective effects of PPQ were weakened. In conclusion, our data suggest that PPQ achieves the protective effects through PI3K/Akt/FoxO3a pathway and dependent modulation of Sirt3. A new acoustic positioning method for Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV) that uses a single underwater hydrophone is proposed in this paper to solve problems of Long Baseline (LBL) array laying and communication synchronisation problems among all hydrophones in the traditional method. The proposed system comprises a Strapdown Inertial Navigation System (SINS), a single hydrophone installed at the bottom of the AUV and a single underwater sound source that emits signals periodically. A matrix of several virtual hydrophones is formed with the movement of the AUV. In every virtual LBL window, the time difference from the transmitted sound source to each virtual hydrophone is obtained by means of a Smooth Coherent Transformation (SCOT) weighting cross-correlation in the frequency domain. Then, the recent location of the AUV can be calculated. Simulation results indicate that the proposed method can effectively compensate for the position error of SINS. Thus, the positioning accuracy can be confined to 2 m, and the method achieves good applicability. In this communication, we demonstrate the development of hierarchical CoTe2–MnTe2 hybrid nanowires grown on Ti mesh (CoTe2–MnTe2/TM) as an electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction. Neurodegenerative diseases are the most common causes of disability worldwide. Given their high prevalence, devastating symptoms, and lack of definitive diagnostic tests, there is an urgent need to identify potential biomarkers and new therapeutic targets. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have recently emerged as powerful regulatory molecules in neurodegenerative diseases. Among them, lncRNA nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) has been reported to be upregulated in Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), Huntington's disease (HD), and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). However, whether this is part of a protective or harmful mechanism is still unclear. This review summarizes our current knowledge of the role of NEAT1 in neurodegenerative diseases and its association with the characteristic aggregation of misfolded proteins: amyloid-β and tau in AD, α-synuclein in PD, mutant huntingtin in HD, and TAR DNA-binding protein-43 fused in sarcoma/translocated in liposarcoma in ALS. This paper discusses the multiscale analysis and numerical algorithms for coupled conduction, convection and radiation heat transfer problem in periodic porous materials. First, the multiscale asymptotic expansion of the solution for the coupled problem is presented, and high-order correctors are constructed. Then, error estimates and their proofs will be given on some regularity hypothesis. Finally, the corresponding finite element algorithms based on multiscale method are introduced and some numerical results are given in detail. The numerical tests demonstrate that the developed method is feasible and valid for predicting the heat transfer performance of periodic porous materials, and support the approximate convergence results proposed in this paper. An efficient spectral method is developed in this paper for the two‐dimensional Stokes eigenvalues on arbitrary triangle. By using the spectral theory of compact operator and approximate property of orthogonal polynomial, we give the error estimate of the approximate eigenvalues and eigenfunctions. In this communication, we report the in situ formation of ultrafine PtO2 nanoparticles coupled with a Co(OH)F nanowire array (PtO2–Co(OH)F NA/TM) via a facile hydrothermal treatment. The PtO2–Co(OH)F NA/TM possesses interfacial synergy derived from its favorable composition and structure. Nitrogen-doped mesoporous carbons (NMCs) have been employed as electrode materials for energy storage devices such as lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) and supercapacitors due to their high accessible porosity and nitrogen content. However, how to maintain the structural stability of NMCs with abundant nitrogen atoms in their 2D honeycomb lattice is still a significant challenge. Herein, NMCs with a high nitrogen content of 18.86 wt% have been successfully synthesized via a self-assembly route in the presence of guanine as a nitrogen source. Furthermore, the nitrogen content and porosity of NMCs can be tuned by controlling the experimental conditions. Benefiting from the high N content, appropriate specific surface area (455 m2 g−1), and high accessible porosity, NMC exhibits superior electrochemical performance. This NMC anode for LIBs can retain a discharge capacity as high as 610 mA h g−1 with a coulombic efficiency of 98.5% after 50 cycles. In addition, it also displays good potential towards supercapacitor application with a specific capacitance of 227 F g−1 (in 6 M KOH) at a current density of 0.5 A g−1. The enhanced electrochemical performance could be attributed to both the low charge transfer resistance and the incremental electrochemical activity resulting from the existence of optimized nitrogen atoms. We aim to develop a fully-discrete version numerical scheme in this article for solving a variable density and viscosity phase-field model involving a nonlinear coupling between the conserved Allen–Cahn equation and the incompressible fluid dynamics. The scheme uses the finite element method for spatial discretization and the linearly stabilized-explicit method for time discretization. The fully-decoupled structure is achieved by applying the "zero-energy-contribution" feature satisfied by coupled nonlinear terms that include the advection and the surface tension, where two nonlocal auxiliary variables are used. These nonlocal auxiliary variables, combined with the operator Strang-splitting method, play as the keys to obtaining an efficient numerical algorithm. At each time step, only a series of full decoupling elliptic equations need to be solved. We rigorously demonstrate the solvability and unconditional energy stability of the scheme, and verify its effectiveness through carrying out various numerical examples including 3D droplets rising simulations. • We develop a fully discrete scheme for solving variable-density conserved Allen-Cahn model. • The scheme combines the finite element method and the stabilized-explicit method. • We prove the unconditional energy stability and give the detailed implementation process. • We present various simulations to demonstrate the effectiveness of the scheme. Segregation of alloying elements to a prismatic dislocation loop under irradiation is an important phenomenon in understanding the role of loops in radiation effects in alloys. In this work, various segregation sequences of Cr and Al atoms to a 〈100〉 and a 1/2〈111〉prismatic dislocation loop in a Fe-Cr-Al alloy are explored using molecular dynamics method and ab initio energy calculation. The results reveal that Cr can readily segregate to the loops while Al atoms cannot by themselves, but the segregated Cr atoms are able to promote Al segregation at the loops, defined as a coupled segregation of Cr and Al. After interacting with Cr and Al, a previously mobile 1/2〈111〉 loop becomes sessile. Al segregation through the coupled segregation process can further affect the pinning behavior of a dislocation loop to an edge dislocation motion. By varying the Al fraction in the segregated solutes, a nonlinear dependence of the pinning effect on dislocation motion is determined. At lower fractions, the pinning strength increases with the increasing Al fraction until Al fraction reaches a critical value of about 19%, above which the pinning strength decreases with further increase of Al fraction. All these results suggest that, in addition to the effect of Al on the surface resistance to oxidation, Al effect on the dislocation loop behavior is important to optimize the composition of Fe-Cr-Al alloys for their applications in accident tolerant fuel concepts. In this paper, we first use the Allen–Cahn relaxation dynamics to simulate the phase-field model of triblock copolymers, where the mass-conserving property is achieved by adding two additional nonlocal Lagrange multipliers. The numerical approximations of the obtained model are further considered, and an efficient fully-discrete numerical scheme based on the Spectral-Galerkin approach for spatial discretization and the so-called explicit-IEQ (invariant energy quadratization) method for time marching is developed. Two auxiliary variables are introduced to reformulate the governing system into an equivalent form, which facilitates the design of numerical algorithms by simply discretizing nonlinear terms explicitly. The resulting scheme is not only second-order accurate in time and spectrally accurate in space, but also easy to implement, i.e., the scheme can be carried out by only solving multiple independently decoupled, linear, and constant-coefficient elliptic equations at each time step. We report a new reaction mode involving functional group migration, which is applied to the radical-mediated remote desaturation of hexenenitriles. The reaction proceeds through consecutive alkene sulfonylation, intramolecular cyano migration, and single-electron oxidation of benzyl radical to cation followed by deprotonation, leading to a variety of densely functionalized alkenes. Nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) is the crucial structural platform of paraspeckles, which is one type of nuclear bodies. As a stress-induced lncRNA, the expression of NEAT1 increases in response to viral infection, but little is known about the role of NEAT1 or paraspeckles in the replication of herpes simplex virus-1 (HSV-1). Here, we demonstrate that HSV-1 infection increases NEAT1 expression and paraspeckle formation in a STAT3-dependent manner. NEAT1 and other paraspeckle protein components, P54nrb and PSPC1, can associate with HSV-1 genomic DNA. By binding with STAT3, PSPC1 is required for the recruitment of STAT3 to paraspeckles and facilitates the interaction between STAT3 and viral gene promoters, finally increasing viral gene expression and viral replication. Furthermore, thermosensitive gel containing NEAT1 siRNA or STAT3 siRNA effectively healed the skin lesions caused by HSV-1 infection in mice.
