This paper summarizes the nursing experience of a patient with gastric distention of spleen deficiency and dampness obstruction syndrome treated by Traditional Chinese Medicine ointment and Bian-stone ironing and rubbing therapy. According to the clinical manifestations and syndrome differentiation of the patient, the Traditional Chinese Medicine ointment and Bian-stone ironing and rubbing therapy were used to improve the digestive function of the patient. In addition, routine interventions such as daily living guidance and dietary nursing were carried out to improve the early recovery of the patient. The porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) belongs to the Arteriviridae family and is a single-stranded, positively stranded RNA virus. The currently available PRRSV vaccines are mainly inactivated and attenuated vaccines, yet none of the commercial vaccines can provide comprehensive, long-lasting, and effective protection against PRRSV. SR717 is a pyridazine-3-carboxamide compound, which is commonly used as a non-nucleoside STING agonist with antitumor and antiviral activities. Nevertheless, there is no evidence that SR717 has any antiviral effects against PRRSV. In this study, a dose-dependent inhibitory effect of SR717 was observed against numerous strains of PRRSV using qRT-PCR, IFA, and WB methods. Furthermore, SR717 was found to stimulate the production of anti-viral molecules and trigger the activation of the signaling cascade known as the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway, which contributed to hindering the reproduction of viruses by a certain margin. Collectively, these results indicate that SR717 is capable of inhibiting PRRSV infection in vitro and may have potential as an antiviral drug against PRRSV. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The measurement of mixing time in a water model of soft-stirring steelmaking ladles is practically facing a problem of bad repeatability. This uncertainty severely affects both the understandings of transport phenomenon in ladles and the measurement accuracy. Scaled down by a ratio of 1:4, a water model based on an industrial 260-ton ladle is used. This paper studies the transport process paths and mixing time of salt solution tracers in the water model of eccentric gas-stirred ladles with a low gas flow rate. After a large number of repeated experiments, the different transport paths of the tracer and the error of the mixing time in each transport path are discussed and compared with the numerical simulation results. The results of a large number of repeated experiments on the water model show that there are five transport paths for the tracer in the ladle. The tracer of the first path is mainly transported by the left-side main circulation flow, which is identical to the numerical simulation results. The tracer of the second and third paths are also mainly transported by the left-side circulation flow, but bifurcations occur when the tracer in the middle area is transported downward. In the third path, the portion and intensity of the tracer transferring to the right side from the central region is higher than in the second path. The fourth path is that the tracer is transported downward from the left, middle, and right sides with a similar intensity at the same time. While the tracer in the fifth path is mainly transported on the right side, and the tracer forms a clockwise circulation flow on the right side. The mixing times from the first transport path to the fifth transport path are 158.3 s, 149.7 s, 171.7 s, 134 s and 95.7 s, respectively, among which the third transport path and the fifth transport path are the maximum and minimum values among all transport paths. The error between the mixing time and the averaged mixing time at each monitoring point in the five transport paths of the tracer is between −34.7% and 40.9%. Interrupted-sampling repeater jamming (ISRJ) is widely used in the field of electronic countermeasures, and can severely affect radar detection. Therefore, the problem of ISRJ suppression is a compelling task. In this paper, we propose an ISRJ suppression method based on an intrapulse frequency-coded joint frequency modulation (FM) slope agile waveform. The intrapulse frequency-coded joint FM slope agile waveform is first designed. The delay inserted between subpulses makes the waveform easy to implement in engineering, and the ambiguity function diagram of the waveform approximates the ideal thumbtack type. Next, the echo slices are classified in the fractional domain utilizing the discontinuity of ISRJ and the focusing property of fractional Fourier transform for chirp signals. Then, the target and interference in the interfered echo slices are reconstructed by compressed sensing, and a time-domain filter is constructed based on interference-free echo slices. Finally, the echo signal after interference suppression is further filtered in the time domain to degrade range sidelobes. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively suppress three typical types of ISRJ. Moreover, the probability of target detection after interference suppression exceeds 90% when the jamming-to-signal ratio equals 50 dB. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: The current research on advanced glycosylation end products (AGEs) and cognitive function is limited. Objective: We aimed to investigate the relationship between multiple plasma AGEs and cognitive function and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods: Baseline data from The Lifestyle and Healthy Aging of Chinese Square Dancer Study was used in this cross-sectional study. Ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry was used to determine plasma levels of carboxymethyl lysine (CML), carboxyethyl lysine (CEL), and methyl imidazolinone (MG-H1). Four cognitive tests were used to obtain the four cognitive domain scores and the composite z scores. The Petersen criteria were used to diagnose MCI. The data were analyzed by multivariable linear and logistic regression models. Results: This study included 1,018 participants (median age 61.0 years, 87.3% female). After multivariate adjustment, the βs of the highest quartile of CML and CEL compared to the lowest quartile were –0.28 (–0.38, –0.17) and –0.13 (–0.23, –0.03), respectively, for the composite z score. For the four cognitive domains, CML was negatively correlated with memory, attention, and executive function, and CEL was negatively associated with memory and language function. In addition, higher CML was associated with a higher odds of MCI. MG-H1 was not associated with cognitive function. Conclusions: High plasma AGE levels were correlated with poorer cognitive function, particularly CML and CEL, higher levels of CML were also associated with higher odds of MCI. To clarify the effects of different AGEs on cognitive function and the underlying mechanisms, further longitudinal and experimental studies are needed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

P‐coumaric acid (p‐CA), a pant metabolite with antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activity, is extensively utilized in biomedicine, food, and cosmetics industry. In this study, a synthetic pathway (PAL) for p‐CA was designed, integrating three enzymes (AtPAL2, AtC4H, AtATR2) into a higher l‐phenylalanine‐producing strain Escherichia coli PHE05. However, the lower soluble expression and activity of AtC4H in the PAL pathway was a bottleneck for increasing p‐CA titers. To overcome this limitation, the soluble expression of AtC4H was enhanced through N‐terminal modifications. And an optimal mutant, AtC4HL373T/G211H, which exhibited a 4.3‐fold higher kcat/Km value compared to the wild type, was developed. In addition, metabolic engineering strategies were employed to increase the intracellular NADPH pool. Overexpression of ppnk in engineered E. coli PHCA20 led to a 13.9‐folds, 1.3‐folds, and 29.1% in NADPH content, the NADPH/NADP+ ratio and p‐CA titer, respectively. These optimizations significantly enhance p‐CA production, in a 5‐L fermenter using fed‐batch fermentation, the p‐CA titer, yield and productivity of engineered strain E. coli PHCA20 were 3.09 g/L, 20.01 mg/g glucose, and 49.05 mg/L/h, respectively. Long noncoding RNA small nucleolar RNA host gene 4 (SNHG4) is usually up-regulated in cancer and regulates the malignant behavior of cancer cells. However, its role in lung cancer remains elusive. In this study, we silenced the expression of SNHG4 in NCI-H1437 and SK-MES-1, two representative non-small-cell lung cancer cell lines, by transfecting them with siRNA (small interfering RNA) that specifically targets SNHG4. We observed significantly inhibited cell proliferation in vitro and reduced tumor growth in vivo after SNHG4 silencing. SNHG4 knockdown also led to cell cycle arrest at the G1 phase, accompanied with down-regulation of cyclin-dependent kinases CDK4 and CDK6. The migration and invasiveness of these two cell lines were remarkably inhibited after SNHG4 silencing. Moreover, our study revealed that the epithelial--mesenchymal transition (EMT) of lung cancer cells was suppressed by SNHG4 silencing, as evidenced by up-regulated E-cadherin and down-regulated SALL4, Twist, and vimentin. In addition, we found that SNHG4 silencing induced up-regulation of miR-98-5p. MiR-98-5p inhibition abrogated the effect of SNHG4 silencing on proliferation and invasion of lung cancer cells. In conclusion, our findings demonstrate that SNHG4 is required by lung cancer cells to maintain malignant phenotype. Toutefois, son role dans le cancer du pulmonaire demeure flou. Dans cette etude, les auteurs ont procede au silencage de l'expression de SNHG4 dans les cellules NCI-H1437 et SK-MES-1, deux lignees typiques de cancer pulmonaire non a petites cellules, en les transfectant avec un siARN (petit ARN interferant) qui cible specifiquement SNHG4. Ils ont observe une inhibition significative de la proliferation cellulaire in vitro et une diminution de la croissance tumorale in vivo a la suite du silencage de SNHG4. Le knockdown de SNHG4 donnait aussi lieu a un arret du cycle cellulaire en phase G1, accompagne d'une regulation a la baisse des kinases dependantes des cyclines CDK4 et CDK6. La migration et l'invasion de ces deux lignees cellulaires etaient fortement inhibees a la suite du silencage de SNHG4. De plus, cette etude revelait que la transition epithelio-mesenchymateuse (TEM) des cellules de cancer pulmonaire etait reprimee par le silencage de SNHG4 comme le montrait la regulation a la hausse de la E-cadherine et la regulation a la baisse de SALL4, de Twist et de la vimentine. Par ailleurs, les auteurs ont trouve que le silencage de SNHG4 provoquait une elevation du miR-98-5p. L'inhibition du miR-98-5p annulait l'effet du silencage de SNHG4 sur la proliferation et l'invasion des cellules de cancer pulmonaire. En conclusion, ces resultats demontrent que SNHG4 est requis pour que les cellules de cancer pulmonaire maintiennent leur phenotype malin.
