Analyzing learners' learning behaviors helps teachers understand how learning behaviors of learners influence learning performance. To determine which learning behaviors influence learners' science-based inquiry learning performance, this work develops an xAPI (Experience Application Programming Interface)-based learning record store module embedded in a Collaborative Web-based Inquiry Science Environment (CWISE) to record detailed data about students' learning processes. This work discusses whether the significant correlation and cause-effect relationship among science inquiry competence, learning time, and learning performance exist, and examines whether remarkable shifts and differences in the learning behaviors of learners with different learning performances and inquiry competences exist by using sequential pattern mining and lag sequential analysis. The results demonstrate that inquire ability, total learning time in the designed inquiry learning course, and learning time in an inquiry buoyancy simulation experiment are positively correlated with learning performance and can predict learning performance, and the learning time in the inquiry buoyancy simulation experiment appears to be the most significant predictor. The results of lag sequential analyses indicate that learners with high learning performance and high inquiry competence re-adjust hypotheses after performing an inquiry buoyancy simulation experiment, while learners with low learning performance and low inquiry competence lack this critical inquiry learning behavior. This study presents a systematic analysis method to insight the effective learning behaviors in a web-based inquiry learning environment based on mining students' learning processes, thus providing potential benefits in guiding learners to adjust their learning behaviors and strategies.

Although acute promyelocytic leukaemia (APL) is a highly curable disease, challenges of early death (ED) and relapse still exist, and real-world data are scarce in the ATRA plus ATO era. A total of 1105 APL patients from 1990 to 2020 were enrolled and categorized into three treatment periods, namely ATRA, ATRA plus ATO, and risk-adapted therapy. The early death (ED) rate was 20.2%, 10.1%, and 7.0%, respectively, in three periods, while there was no significant decline in the 7-day death rate. Consistently, the overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of APL patients markedly improved over time. Despite the last two periods exhibiting similar DFS, the chemotherapy load was substantially lower in Period 3. Notably, leveraging older age and higher WBC count (especially > 50 × 109/L), we could identify a small group of extremely high-risk patients who had a very high ED rate and poor prognosis, while those with NRAS mutations and higher WBC tended to relapse, both representing obstacles to curing all patients. In conclusion, the evolvement of treatment paradigms can reduce the ED rate, improve clinical outcomes, and spare patients the toxicity of chemotherapy. Special care and innovative agents are warranted for the particularly high-risk APL.

In explaining their modal views modal fictionalists hope to be able to talk about possible worlds without making a commitment, in any sense, to the existence of worlds. Bob Hale (1995a), however, has constructed a 'simple' dilemma argument against the fictionalist view. In his reply to Hale, Gideon Rosen (1995) tried to take the first horn of the dilemma, but his reply was, as I show, ineffective if not confused. John Diver (1999), on the other hand, has sought to revise the original realist translation scheme to meet the dilemma, but his effort was both implausible and unnecessary. Both Rosen and Diver assume that Hale's dilemma is detrimental to modal fictionalism as formulated in Rosen's (1990) and (1993). But I argue in this paper that Rosen's formulation, and so the modal realist view, is not threatened by Hale's dilemma at all. I also axiomatize the fictionalist's favorite modal operator 'according to the hypothesis of a plurality of worlds,' so that Rosen's optimism can be justified.

Objective To study the expression level of plasma miR-106b-5p in primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) and its correlation with the levels of T helper 17 cell (Th17) and regulatory T cell (Treg) and the Th17/Treg ratio. Methods A total of 79 children with ITP (ITP group) and 40 healthy children (control group) were selected as subjects. According to the treatment response, the 79 children with ITP were divided into three groups: complete response (n=40), partial response (n=18), and non-response (n=21). Quantitative real-time PCR was used to measure the expression level of miR-106b-5p. Flow cytometry was used to measure the frequencies of Th17 and Treg, and the Th17/Treg ratio was calculated. The correlation of the expression level of plasma miR-106b-5p with the frequencies of Th17 and Treg and the Th17/Treg ratio was analyzed. Results Compared with the control group, the ITP group had significantly higher levels of miR-106b-5p, Th17, and Th17/Treg ratio (P<0.05) and a significantly lower level of Treg (P<0.05). After treatment the ITP group had significant reductions in the levels of miR-106b-5p, Th17, and Th17/Treg ratio (P<0.05) and a significant increase in the level of Treg (P<0.05). Compared with the partial response and non-response groups, the complete response group had significantly lower levels of miR-106b-5p, Th17, and Th17/Treg ratio (P<0.05) and a significantly higher level of Treg (P<0.05). The correlation analysis showed that in the children with ITP, the expression level of plasma miR-106b-5p was positively correlated with the Th17 level and the Th17/Treg ratio (r=0.730 and 0.816 respectively; P<0.001) and was negatively correlated with the Treg level (r=-0.774, P<0.001). Conclusions A higher expression level of miR-106b-5p and Th17/Treg imbalance may be observed in children with ITP. The measurement of miR-106b-5p, Th17, Treg, and Th17/Treg ratio during treatment may be useful to the evaluation of treatment outcome in children with ITP. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
