Imbalanced data are frequently encountered in real-world classification tasks. Previous works on imbalanced learning mostly focused on learning with a minority class of few samples. However, the notion of imbalance also applies to cases where the minority class contains abundant samples, which is usually the case for industrial applications like fraud detection in the area of financial risk management. In this paper, we take a population-level approach to imbalanced learning by proposing a new formulation called \emph{ultra-imbalanced classification} (UIC). Under UIC, loss functions behave differently even if infinite amount of training samples are available. To understand the intrinsic difficulty of UIC problems, we borrow ideas from information theory and establish a framework to compare different loss functions through the lens of statistical information. A novel learning objective termed Tunable Boosting Loss is developed which is provably resistant against data imbalance under UIC, as well as being empirically efficient verified by extensive experimental studies on both public and industrial datasets.

Recent Vision Mamba models not only have much lower complexity for processing higher resolution images and longer videos but also the competitive performance with Vision Transformers (ViTs). However, they are stuck into overfitting and thus only present up to base size (about 80M). It is still unclear how vanilla Vision Mamba (Vim) can be efficiently scaled up to larger sizes, which is essentially for further exploitation. In this paper, we propose a stochastic layer-wise shuffle regularization, which empowers successfully scaling non-hierarchical Vision Mamba to a large size (about 300M) in a supervised setting. Specifically, our base and large-scale ShuffleMamba models can outperform the supervised ViTs of similar size by 0.8\% and 1.0\% classification accuracy on ImageNet1k, respectively, without auxiliary data. When evaluated on the ADE20K semantic segmentation and COCO detection tasks, our ShuffleMamba models also show significant improvements. Without bells and whistles, the stochastic layer-wise shuffle has the following highlights: (1) \textit{Plug and play:} it does not change model architectures and will be omitted in inference. (2) \textit{Simple but effective:} it can improve the overfitting in Vim training and only introduce random token permutation operations. (3) \textit{Intuitive:} the token sequences in deeper layers are more likely to be shuffled as they are expected to be more semantic and less sensitive to patch positions. Estimating the conditional average treatment effects (CATE) is very important in causal inference and has a wide range of applications across many fields. In the estimation process of CATE, the unconfoundedness assumption is typically required to ensure the identifiability of the regression problems. When estimating CATE using high-dimensional data, there have been many variable selection methods and neural network approaches based on representation learning, while these methods do not provide a way to verify whether the subset of variables after dimensionality reduction or the learned representations still satisfy the unconfoundedness assumption during the estimation process, which can lead to ineffective estimates of the treatment effects. Additionally, these methods typically use data from only the treatment or control group when estimating the regression functions for each group. This paper proposes a novel neural network approach named \textbf{CrossNet} to learn a sufficient representation for the features, based on which we then estimate the CATE, where cross indicates that in estimating the regression functions, we used data from their own group as well as cross-utilized data from another group. Numerical simulations and empirical results demonstrate that our method outperforms the competitive approaches.

We formulate and classify super Satake diagrams under a mild assumption, building on arbitrary Dynkin diagrams for finite-dimensional basic Lie superalgebras. We develop a theory of quantum supersymmetric pairs associated to the super Satake diagrams. We establish the quantum Iwasawa decomposition and construct quasi $K$-matrix associated with the quantum supersymmetric pairs. Discrete-Time Dynamic Graphs (DTDGs), which are prevalent in real-world implementations and notable for their ease of data acquisition, have garnered considerable attention from both academic researchers and industry practitioners. The representation learning of DTDGs has been extensively applied to model the dynamics of temporally changing entities and their evolving connections. Currently, DTDG representation learning predominantly relies on GNN+RNN architectures, which manifest the inherent limitations of both Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs). GNNs suffer from the over-smoothing issue as the models architecture goes deeper, while RNNs struggle to capture long-term dependencies effectively. GNN+RNN architectures also grapple with scaling to large graph sizes and long sequences. Additionally, these methods often compute node representations separately and focus solely on individual node characteristics, thereby overlooking the behavior intersections between the two nodes whose link is being predicted, such as instances where the two nodes appear together in the same context or share common neighbors. This paper introduces a novel representation learning method DTFormer for DTDGs, pivoting from the traditional GNN+RNN framework to a Transformer-based architecture. Our approach exploits the attention mechanism to concurrently process topological information within the graph at each timestamp and temporal dynamics of graphs along the timestamps, circumventing the aforementioned fundamental weakness of both GNNs and RNNs. Moreover, we enhance the model's expressive capability by incorporating the intersection relationships among nodes and integrating a multi-patching module. In this paper, we establish the existence of strong solutions to the steady non-isentropic compressible Navier-Stokes system with Dirichlet boundary conditions in bounded domains where the fluid is driven by the wall temperature, and justify its low Mach number limit, i.e., $\v\to 0$, in $L^{\infty}$ sense with a rate of convergence. Notably, for the limiting system \eqref{fge} obtained in the low Mach number limit, the variation of the wall temperature is allowed to be independent of the Mach number. It is also worth pointing out that the velocity field $u_{1}$ acts like a ghost since it appears at $\v$-order in the expansion, but still affects the density and temperature at $O(1)$-order. In the proof, we design a new expansion, in which the density, velocity and temperature have different expansion forms with respect to $\v$, so that the density at higher orders is well-defined under the Boussinesq relations and the constraint of zero average. Using the affine web category introduced in a prequel as a building block, we formulate a diagrammatic $\Bbbk$-linear monoidal category, the affine Schur category, for any commutative ring $\Bbbk$. We then formulate diagrammatic categories, the cyclotomic Schur categories, with arbitrary parameters at positive integral levels. Integral bases consisting of elementary diagrams are obtained for affine and cyclotomic Schur categories. A second diagrammatic basis, called a double SST basis, for any such cyclotomic Schur category is also established, leading to a conjectural higher level RSK correspondence. We show that the endomorphism algebras with the double SST bases are isomorphic to degenerate cyclotomic Schur algebras with their cellular bases, providing a first diagrammatic presentation of the latter. We provide a geometric realization of the quasi-split affine $\imath$quantum group of type AIII$_{2n-1}^{(\tau)}$ in terms of equivariant K-groups of non-connected Steinberg varieties of type C. Graph clustering, a fundamental and challenging task in graph mining, aims to classify nodes in a graph into several disjoint clusters. In recent years, graph contrastive learning (GCL) has emerged as a dominant line of research in graph clustering and advances the new state-of-the-art. However, GCL-based methods heavily rely on graph augmentations and contrastive schemes, which may potentially introduce challenges such as semantic drift and scalability issues. Another promising line of research involves the adoption of modularity maximization, a popular and effective measure for community detection, as the guiding principle for clustering tasks. Despite the recent progress, the underlying mechanism of modularity maximization is still not well understood. In this work, we dig into the hidden success of modularity maximization for graph clustering. Our analysis reveals the strong connections between modularity maximization and graph contrastive learning, where positive and negative examples are naturally defined by modularity. In light of our results, we propose a community-aware graph clustering framework, coined MAGI, which leverages modularity maximization as a contrastive pretext task to effectively uncover the underlying information of communities in graphs, while avoiding the problem of semantic drift. Extensive experiments on multiple graph datasets verify the effectiveness of MAGI in terms of scalability and clustering performance compared to state-of-the-art graph clustering methods. Online GUI navigation on mobile devices has driven a lot of attention recent years since it contributes to many real-world applications. With the rapid development of large language models (LLM), multimodal large language models (MLLM) have tremendous potential on this task. However, existing MLLMs need high quality data to improve its abilities of making the correct navigation decisions according to the human user inputs. In this paper, we developed a novel and highly valuable dataset, named \textbf{E-ANT}, as the first Chinese GUI navigation dataset that contains real human behaviour and high quality screenshots with annotations, containing nearly 40,000 real human traces over 5000+ different tinyAPPs. Furthermore, we evaluate various powerful MLLMs on E-ANT and show their experiments results with sufficient ablations. We formulate a family of algebras, twisted Yangians (of split type) in current generators and relations, via a degeneration of the Drinfeld presentation of affine $\imath$quantum groups (associated with split Satake diagrams). These new algebras admit PBW type bases and are shown to be a deformation of twisted current algebras; presentations for twisted current algebras are also provided. For type AI, it matches with the Drinfeld presentation of twisted Yangian obtained via Gauss decomposition. Recently, video generation techniques have advanced rapidly. Given the popularity of video content on social media platforms, these models intensify concerns about the spread of fake information. Therefore, there is a growing demand for detectors capable of distinguishing between fake AI-generated videos and mitigating the potential harm caused by fake information. However, the lack of large-scale datasets from the most advanced video generators poses a barrier to the development of such detectors. To address this gap, we introduce the first AI-generated video detection dataset, GenVideo. It features the following characteristics: (1) a large volume of videos, including over one million AI-generated and real videos collected; (2) a rich diversity of generated content and methodologies, covering a broad spectrum of video categories and generation techniques. We conducted extensive studies of the dataset and proposed two evaluation methods tailored for real-world-like scenarios to assess the detectors' performance: the cross-generator video classification task assesses the generalizability of trained detectors on generators; the degraded video classification task evaluates the robustness of detectors to handle videos that have degraded in quality during dissemination. Moreover, we introduced a plug-and-play module, named Detail Mamba (DeMamba), designed to enhance the detectors by identifying AI-generated videos through the analysis of inconsistencies in temporal and spatial dimensions. Our extensive experiments demonstrate DeMamba's superior generalizability and robustness on GenVideo compared to existing detectors. We believe that the GenVideo dataset and the DeMamba module will significantly advance the field of AI-generated video detection. This study reveals a cutting-edge re-balanced contrastive learning strategy aimed at strengthening face anti-spoofing capabilities within facial recognition systems, with a focus on countering the challenges posed by printed photos, and highly realistic silicone or latex masks. Leveraging the HySpeFAS dataset, which benefits from Snapshot Spectral Imaging technology to provide hyperspectral images, our approach harmonizes class-level contrastive learning with data resampling and an innovative real-face oriented reweighting technique. This method effectively mitigates dataset imbalances and reduces identity-related biases. Semantic segmentation requires pixel-level annotation, which is time-consuming. Active Learning (AL) is a promising method for reducing data annotation costs. Due to the gap between aerial and natural images, the previous AL methods are not ideal, mainly caused by unreasonable labeling units and the neglect of class imbalance. Previous labeling units are based on images or regions, which does not consider the characteristics of segmentation tasks and aerial images, i.e., the segmentation network often makes mistakes in the edge region, and the edge of aerial images is often interlaced and irregular. Therefore, an edge-guided labeling unit is proposed and supplemented as the new unit. On the other hand, the class imbalance is severe, manifested in two aspects: the aerial image is seriously imbalanced, and the AL strategy does not fully consider the class balance. Both seriously affect the performance of AL in aerial images. We comprehensively ensure class balance from all steps that may occur imbalance, including initial labeled data, subsequent labeled data, and pseudo-labels. Through the two improvements, our method achieves more than 11.2\% gains compared to state-of-the-art methods on three benchmark datasets, Deepglobe, Potsdam, and Vaihingen, and more than 18.6\% gains compared to the baseline. Pre-trained large-scale vision-language models (VLMs) have acquired profound understanding of general visual concepts. Recent advancements in efficient transfer learning (ETL) have shown remarkable success in fine-tuning VLMs within the scenario of limited data, introducing only a few parameters to harness task-specific insights from VLMs. Despite significant progress, current leading ETL methods tend to overfit the narrow distributions of base classes seen during training and encounter two primary challenges: (i) only utilizing uni-modal information to modeling task-specific knowledge; and (ii) using costly and time-consuming methods to supplement knowledge. To address these issues, we propose a Conditional Prototype Rectification Prompt Learning (CPR) method to correct the bias of base examples and augment limited data in an effective way. Specifically, we alleviate overfitting on base classes from two aspects. First, each input image acquires knowledge from both textual and visual prototypes, and then generates sample-conditional text tokens. Second, we extract utilizable knowledge from unlabeled data to further refine the prototypes. These two strategies mitigate biases stemming from base classes, yielding a more effective classifier. Extensive experiments on 11 benchmark datasets show that our CPR achieves state-of-the-art performance on both few-shot classification and base-to-new generalization tasks. To gather a significant quantity of annotated training data for high-performance image classification models, numerous companies opt to enlist third-party providers to label their unlabeled data. This practice is widely regarded as secure, even in cases where some annotated errors occur, as the impact of these minor inaccuracies on the final performance of the models is negligible and existing backdoor attacks require attacker's ability to poison the training images. Nevertheless, in this paper, we propose clean-image backdoor attacks which uncover that backdoors can still be injected via a fraction of incorrect labels without modifying the training images. Specifically, in our attacks, the attacker first seeks a trigger feature to divide the training images into two parts: those with the feature and those without it. Subsequently, the attacker falsifies the labels of the former part to a backdoor class. The backdoor will be finally implanted into the target model after it is trained on the poisoned data. During the inference phase, the attacker can activate the backdoor in two ways: slightly modifying the input image to obtain the trigger feature, or taking an image that naturally has the trigger feature as input. We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness and practicality of our attacks. According to the experimental results, we conclude that our attacks seriously jeopardize the fairness and robustness of image classification models, and it is necessary to be vigilant about the incorrect labels in outsourced labeling.

Prompt learning has emerged as a valuable technique in enhancing vision-language models (VLMs) such as CLIP for downstream tasks in specific domains. Existing work mainly focuses on designing various learning forms of prompts, neglecting the potential of prompts as effective distillers for learning from larger teacher models. In this paper, we introduce an unsupervised domain prompt distillation framework, which aims to transfer the knowledge of a larger teacher model to a lightweight target model through prompt-driven imitation using unlabeled domain images. Specifically, our framework consists of two distinct stages. In the initial stage, we pre-train a large CLIP teacher model using domain (few-shot) labels. After pre-training, we leverage the unique decoupled-modality characteristics of CLIP by pre-computing and storing the text features as class vectors only once through the teacher text encoder. In the subsequent stage, the stored class vectors are shared across teacher and student image encoders for calculating the predicted logits. Further, we align the logits of both the teacher and student models via KL divergence, encouraging the student image encoder to generate similar probability distributions to the teacher through the learnable prompts. The proposed prompt distillation process eliminates the reliance on labeled data, enabling the algorithm to leverage a vast amount of unlabeled images within the domain. Finally, the well-trained student image encoders and pre-stored text features (class vectors) are utilized for inference. To our best knowledge, we are the first to (1) perform unsupervised domain-specific prompt-driven knowledge distillation for CLIP, and (2) establish a practical pre-storing mechanism of text features as shared class vectors between teacher and student. Large Language Models (LLMs) become the start-of-the-art solutions for a variety of natural language tasks and are integrated into real-world applications. However, LLMs can be potentially harmful in manifesting undesirable safety issues like social biases and toxic content. It is imperative to assess its safety issues before deployment. However, the quality and diversity of test prompts generated by existing methods are still far from satisfactory. Not only are these methods labor-intensive and require large budget costs, but the controllability of test prompt generation is lacking for the specific testing domain of LLM applications. With the idea of LLM for LLM testing, we propose the first LLM, called TroubleLLM, to generate controllable test prompts on LLM safety issues. Extensive experiments and human evaluation illustrate the superiority of TroubleLLM on generation quality and generation controllability.

Graph representation learning (GRL) is critical for extracting insights from complex network structures, but it also raises security concerns due to potential privacy vulnerabilities in these representations. This paper investigates the structural vulnerabilities in graph neural models where sensitive topological information can be inferred through edge reconstruction attacks. Our research primarily addresses the theoretical underpinnings of similarity-based edge reconstruction attacks (SERA), furnishing a non-asymptotic analysis of their reconstruction capacities. Moreover, we present empirical corroboration indicating that such attacks can perfectly reconstruct sparse graphs as graph size increases. Conversely, we establish that sparsity is a critical factor for SERA's effectiveness, as demonstrated through analysis and experiments on (dense) stochastic block models. Finally, we explore the resilience of private graph representations produced via noisy aggregation (NAG) mechanism against SERA. Through theoretical analysis and empirical assessments, we affirm the mitigation of SERA using NAG . In parallel, we also empirically delineate instances wherein SERA demonstrates both efficacy and deficiency in its capacity to function as an instrument for elucidating the trade-off between privacy and utility.

Audio-visual zero-shot learning aims to recognize unseen classes based on paired audio-visual sequences. Recent methods mainly focus on learning multi-modal features aligned with class names to enhance the generalization ability to unseen categories. However, these approaches ignore the obscure event concepts in class names and may inevitably introduce complex network structures with difficult training objectives. In this paper, we introduce a straightforward yet efficient framework called KnowleDge-Augmented audio-visual learning (KDA), which aids the model in more effectively learning novel event content by leveraging an external knowledge base. Specifically, we first propose to utilize the knowledge contained in large language models (LLMs) to generate numerous descriptive sentences that include important distinguishing audio-visual features of event classes, which helps to better understand unseen categories. Furthermore, we propose a knowledge-aware adaptive margin loss to help distinguish similar events, further improving the generalization ability towards unseen classes. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our proposed KDA can outperform state-of-the-art methods on three popular audio-visual zero-shot learning datasets.Our code will be avaliable at \url{https://github.com/chenhaoxing/KDA}.

This paper studies quantum symmetric pairs $(\widetilde{\mathbf U}, \widetilde{{\mathbf U}}^\imath )$ associated with quasi-split Satake diagrams of affine type $A_{2r-1}, D_r, E_{6}$ with a nontrivial diagram involution fixing the affine simple node. Various real and imaginary root vectors for the universal $\imath$quantum groups $\widetilde{{\mathbf U}}^\imath$ are constructed with the help of the relative braid group action, and they are used to construct affine rank one subalgebras of $\widetilde{{\mathbf U}}^\imath$. The paradigm of vertical federated learning (VFL), where institutions collaboratively train machine learning models via combining each other's local feature or label information, has achieved great success in applications to financial risk management (FRM). The surging developments of graph representation learning (GRL) have opened up new opportunities for FRM applications under FL via efficiently utilizing the graph-structured data generated from underlying transaction networks. Meanwhile, transaction information is often considered highly sensitive. To prevent data leakage during training, it is critical to develop FL protocols with formal privacy guarantees. In this paper, we present an end-to-end GRL framework in the VFL setting called VESPER, which is built upon a general privatization scheme termed perturbed message passing (PMP) that allows the privatization of many popular graph neural architectures.Based on PMP, we discuss the strengths and weaknesses of specific design choices of concrete graph neural architectures and provide solutions and improvements for both dense and sparse graphs. Extensive empirical evaluations over both public datasets and an industry dataset demonstrate that VESPER is capable of training high-performance GNN models over both sparse and dense graphs under reasonable privacy budgets.

Graph representation learning has now become the de facto standard when handling graph-structured data, with the framework of message-passing graph neural networks (MPNN) being the most prevailing algorithmic tool. Despite its popularity, the family of MPNNs suffers from several drawbacks such as transparency and expressivity. Recently, the idea of designing neural models on graphs using the theory of graph kernels has emerged as a more transparent as well as sometimes more expressive alternative to MPNNs known as kernel graph neural networks (KGNNs). Developments on KGNNs are currently a nascent field of research, leaving several challenges from algorithmic design and adaptation to other learning paradigms such as self-supervised learning. In this paper, we improve the design and learning of KGNNs. Firstly, we extend the algorithmic formulation of KGNNs by allowing a more flexible graph-level similarity definition that encompasses former proposals like random walk graph kernel, as well as providing a smoother optimization objective that alleviates the need of introducing combinatorial learning procedures. Secondly, we enhance KGNNs through the lens of self-supervision via developing a novel structure-preserving graph data augmentation method called latent graph augmentation (LGA). Finally, we perform extensive empirical evaluations to demonstrate the efficacy of our proposed mechanisms. Experimental results over benchmark datasets suggest that our proposed model achieves competitive performance that is comparable to or sometimes outperforming state-of-the-art graph representation learning frameworks with or without self-supervision on graph classification tasks. Comparisons against other previously established graph data augmentation methods verify that the proposed LGA augmentation scheme captures better semantics of graph-level invariance.

Topological defects play a key role in the structures and dynamics of liquid crystals (LCs) and other ordered systems. There is a recent interest in studying defects in different biological systems with distinct textures. However, a robust method to directly recognize defects and extract their structural features from various traditional and nontraditional nematic systems remains challenging to date. Here we present a machine learning solution, termed Machine Eye for Defects (MED), for automated defect analysis in images with diverse nematic textures. MED seamlessly integrates state-of-the-art object detection networks, Segment Anything Model, and vision transformer algorithms with tailored computer vision techniques. We show that MED can accurately identify the positions, winding numbers, and orientations of $\pm 1/2$ defects across distinct cellular contours, sparse vector fields of nematic directors, actin filaments, microtubules, and simulation images of Gay--Berne particles. MED performs faster than conventional defect detection method and can achieve over 90\% accuracy on recognizing $\pm1/2$ defects and their orientations from vector fields and experimental tissue images. We further demonstrate that MED can identify defect types that are not included in the training data, such as giant-core defects and defects with higher winding number. Remarkably, MED provides correct structural information about $\pm 1$ defects, i.e., the phase angle for $+1$ defects and the orientation angle for $-1$ defects. As such, MED stands poised to transform studies of diverse ordered systems by providing automated, rapid, accurate, and insightful defect analysis.

Federated training of Graph Neural Networks (GNN) has become popular in recent years due to its ability to perform graph-related tasks under data isolation scenarios while preserving data privacy. However, graph heterogeneity issues in federated GNN systems continue to pose challenges. Existing frameworks address the problem by representing local tasks using different statistics and relating them through a simple aggregation mechanism. However, these approaches suffer from limited efficiency from two aspects: low quality of task-relatedness quantification and inefficacy of exploiting the collaboration structure. To address these issues, we propose FedGKD, a novel federated GNN framework that utilizes a novel client-side graph dataset distillation method to extract task features that better describe task-relatedness, and introduces a novel server-side aggregation mechanism that is aware of the global collaboration structure. We conduct extensive experiments on six real-world datasets of different scales, demonstrating our framework's outperformance.

Image composition targets at synthesizing a realistic composite image from a pair of foreground and background images. Recently, generative composition methods are built on large pretrained diffusion models to generate composite images, considering their great potential in image generation. However, they suffer from lack of controllability on foreground attributes and poor preservation of foreground identity. To address these challenges, we propose a controllable image composition method that unifies four tasks in one diffusion model: image blending, image harmonization, view synthesis, and generative composition. Meanwhile, we design a self-supervised training framework coupled with a tailored pipeline of training data preparation. Moreover, we propose a local enhancement module to enhance the foreground details in the diffusion model, improving the foreground fidelity of composite images. The proposed method is evaluated on both public benchmark and real-world data, which demonstrates that our method can generate more faithful and controllable composite images than existing approaches. Federated learning (FL) is a distributed machine learning paradigm that needs collaboration between a server and a series of clients with decentralized data. To make FL effective in real-world applications, existing work devotes to improving the modeling of decentralized data with non-independent and identical distributions (non-IID). In non-IID settings, there are intra-client inconsistency that comes from the imbalanced data modeling, and inter-client inconsistency among heterogeneous client distributions, which not only hinders sufficient representation of the minority data, but also brings discrepant model deviations. However, previous work overlooks to tackle the above two coupling inconsistencies together. In this work, we propose FedRANE, which consists of two main modules, i.e., local relational augmentation (LRA) and global Nash equilibrium (GNE), to resolve intra- and inter-client inconsistency simultaneously. Specifically, in each client, LRA mines the similarity relations among different data samples and enhances the minority sample representations with their neighbors using attentive message passing. In server, GNE reaches an agreement among inconsistent and discrepant model deviations from clients to server, which encourages the global model to update in the direction of global optimum without breaking down the clients optimization toward their local optimums. Most state-of-the-art deep domain adaptation techniques align source and target samples in a global fashion. That is, after alignment, each source sample is expected to become similar to any target sample. However, global alignment may not always be optimal or necessary in practice. For example, consider cross-domain fraud detection, where there are two types of transactions: credit and non-credit. Aligning credit and non-credit transactions separately may yield better performance than global alignment, as credit transactions are unlikely to exhibit patterns similar to non-credit transactions. To enable such fine-grained domain adaption, we propose a novel Knowledge-Inspired Subdomain Adaptation (KISA) framework. In particular, (1) We provide the theoretical insight that KISA minimizes the shared expected loss which is the premise for the success of domain adaptation methods. (2) We propose the knowledge-inspired subdomain division problem that plays a crucial role in fine-grained domain adaption. (3) We design a knowledge fusion network to exploit diverse domain knowledge. Deep neural networks are vulnerable to adversarial examples, dictating the imperativeness to test the model's robustness before deployment. Transfer-based attackers craft adversarial examples against surrogate models and transfer them to victim models deployed in the black-box situation. To enhance the adversarial transferability, structure-based attackers adjust the backpropagation path to avoid the attack from overfitting the surrogate model. However, existing structure-based attackers fail to explore the convolution module in CNNs and modify the backpropagation graph heuristically, leading to limited effectiveness. In this paper, we propose backPropagation pAth Search (PAS), solving the aforementioned two problems. We first propose SkipConv to adjust the backpropagation path of convolution by structural reparameterization. To overcome the drawback of heuristically designed backpropagation paths, we further construct a DAG-based search space, utilize one-step approximation for path evaluation and employ Bayesian Optimization to search for the optimal path. We conduct comprehensive experiments in a wide range of transfer settings, showing that PAS improves the attack success rate by a huge margin for both normally trained and defense models., Comment: Accepted by ICCV2023

Change detection based on remote sensing images has been a prominent area of interest in the field of remote sensing. Deep networks have demonstrated significant success in detecting changes in bi-temporal remote sensing images and have found applications in various fields. Given the degradation of natural environments and the frequent occurrence of natural disasters, accurately and swiftly identifying damaged buildings in disaster-stricken areas through remote sensing images holds immense significance. This paper aims to investigate change detection specifically for natural disasters. Considering that existing public datasets used in change detection research are registered, which does not align with the practical scenario where bi-temporal images are not matched, this paper introduces an unregistered end-to-end change detection synthetic dataset called xBD-E2ECD. Furthermore, we propose an end-to-end change detection network named E2ECDNet, which takes an unregistered bi-temporal image pair as input and simultaneously generates the flow field prediction result and the change detection prediction result. It is worth noting that our E2ECDNet also supports change detection for registered image pairs, as registration can be seen as a special case of non-registration. Additionally, this paper redefines the criteria for correctly predicting a positive case and introduces neighborhood-based change detection evaluation metrics. The experimental results have demonstrated significant improvements.

It is assumed that pre-training provides the feature extractor with strong class transferability and that high novel class generalization can be achieved by simply reusing the transferable feature extractor. In this work, our motivation is to explicitly learn some fine-grained and transferable meta-knowledge so that feature reusability can be further improved. Concretely, inspired by the fact that humans can use learned concepts or components to help them recognize novel classes, we propose Compositional Prototypical Networks (CPN) to learn a transferable prototype for each human-annotated attribute, which we call a component prototype. We empirically demonstrate that the learned component prototypes have good class transferability and can be reused to construct compositional prototypes for novel classes. Then a learnable weight generator is utilized to adaptively fuse the compositional and visual prototypes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method can achieve state-of-the-art results on different datasets and settings. The performance gains are especially remarkable in the 5-way 1-shot setting. We are concerned with global finite-energy solutions of the three-dimensional compressible Euler-Poisson equations with gravitational potential and general pressure law, especially including the constitutive equation of white dwarf stars. We construct global finite-energy solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Euler-Poisson equations with large initial data of spherical symmetry as the inviscid limit of the solutions of the corresponding Cauchy problem for the Navier-Stokes-Poisson equations. The strong convergence of the vanishing viscosity solutions is achieved through entropy analysis, uniform estimates in $L^p$, and a more general compensated compactness framework via several new ingredients. A key estimate is first established for the integrability of the density over unbounded domains independent of the viscosity coefficient. Then a special entropy pair is carefully designed by solving a Goursat problem for the entropy equation such that a higher integrability of the velocity is established, which is a crucial step. Moreover, the weak entropy kernel for the general pressure law and its fractional derivatives of the required order near vacuum ($\rho=0$) and far-field ($\rho=\infty$) are carefully analyzed. Owing to the generality of the pressure law, only the $W^{-1,p}_{{\rm loc}}$-compactness of weak entropy dissipation measures with $p\in [1,2)$ can be obtained; this is rescued by the equi-integrability of weak entropy pairs which can be established by the estimates obtained above so that the div-curl lemma still applies. Finally, based on the above analysis of weak entropy pairs, the $L^p$ compensated compactness framework for the compressible Euler equations with general pressure law is established. Diffusion model based language-guided image editing has achieved great success recently. However, existing state-of-the-art diffusion models struggle with rendering correct text and text style during generation. To tackle this problem, we propose a universal self-supervised text editing diffusion model (DiffUTE), which aims to replace or modify words in the source image with another one while maintaining its realistic appearance. Specifically, we build our model on a diffusion model and carefully modify the network structure to enable the model for drawing multilingual characters with the help of glyph and position information. Moreover, we design a self-supervised learning framework to leverage large amounts of web data to improve the representation ability of the model. Experimental results show that our method achieves an impressive performance and enables controllable editing on in-the-wild images with high fidelity. Recent object detection approaches rely on pretrained vision-language models for image-text alignment. However, they fail to detect the Mobile User Interface (MUI) element since it contains additional OCR information, which describes its content and function but is often ignored. In this paper, we develop a new MUI element detection dataset named MUI-zh and propose an Adaptively Prompt Tuning (APT) module to take advantage of discriminating OCR information. APT is a lightweight and effective module to jointly optimize category prompts across different modalities. For every element, APT uniformly encodes its visual features and OCR descriptions to dynamically adjust the representation of frozen category prompts. We evaluate the effectiveness of our plug-and-play APT upon several existing CLIP-based detectors for both standard and open-vocabulary MUI element detection. Extensive experiments show that our method achieves considerable improvements on two datasets. We prove that the Grothendieck ring of the monoidal category of finitely generated graded projective modules for the nil-Brauer category is isomorphic to an integral form of the split $\imath$-quantum group of rank one. Under this isomorphism, the indecomposable graded projective modules correspond to the $\imath$-canonical basis. We also introduce a new PBW basis for the $\imath$-quantum group and show that it is categorified by standard modules for the nil-Brauer category. Finally, we derive character formulae for irreducible graded modules and deduce various branching rules.

We introduce the nil-Brauer category and prove a basis theorem for its morphism spaces. This basis theorem is an essential ingredient required to prove that nil-Brauer categorifies the split $\imath$-quantum group of rank one. Current video text spotting methods can achieve preferable performance, powered with sufficient labeled training data. However, labeling data manually is time-consuming and labor-intensive. To overcome this, using low-cost synthetic data is a promising alternative. This paper introduces a novel video text synthesis technique called FlowText, which utilizes optical flow estimation to synthesize a large amount of text video data at a low cost for training robust video text spotters. Unlike existing methods that focus on image-level synthesis, FlowText concentrates on synthesizing temporal information of text instances across consecutive frames using optical flow. This temporal information is crucial for accurately tracking and spotting text in video sequences, including text movement, distortion, appearance, disappearance, shelter, and blur. Experiments show that combining general detectors like TransDETR with the proposed FlowText produces remarkable results on various datasets, such as ICDAR2015video and ICDAR2013video. Knowledge Graph Embedding (KGE) is a fundamental technique that extracts expressive representation from knowledge graph (KG) to facilitate diverse downstream tasks. The emerging federated KGE (FKGE) collaboratively trains from distributed KGs held among clients while avoiding exchanging clients' sensitive raw KGs, which can still suffer from privacy threats as evidenced in other federated model trainings (e.g., neural networks). However, quantifying and defending against such privacy threats remain unexplored for FKGE which possesses unique properties not shared by previously studied models. In this paper, we conduct the first holistic study of the privacy threat on FKGE from both attack and defense perspectives. For the attack, we quantify the privacy threat by proposing three new inference attacks, which reveal substantial privacy risk by successfully inferring the existence of the KG triple from victim clients. For the defense, we propose DP-Flames, a novel differentially private FKGE with private selection, which offers a better privacy-utility tradeoff by exploiting the entity-binding sparse gradient property of FKGE and comes with a tight privacy accountant by incorporating the state-of-the-art private selection technique. We further propose an adaptive privacy budget allocation policy to dynamically adjust defense magnitude across the training procedure. Comprehensive evaluations demonstrate that the proposed defense can successfully mitigate the privacy threat by effectively reducing the success rate of inference attacks from $83.1\%$ to $59.4\%$ on average with only a modest utility decrease., Comment: Accepted in the ACM Web Conference (WWW 2023)
