Continuous, long-term monitoring of hazardous, noxious, explosive, and flammable gases in industrial environments using electronic nose (E-nose) systems faces the significant challenge of reduced gas identification accuracy due to time-varying drift in gas sensors. To address this issue, we propose a novel unsupervised attention-based multi-source domain shared-private feature fusion adaptation (AMDS-PFFA) framework for gas identification with drift compensation in E-nose systems. The AMDS-PFFA model effectively leverages labeled data from multiple source domains collected during the initial stage to accurately identify gases in unlabeled gas sensor array drift signals from the target domain. To validate the model's effectiveness, extensive experimental evaluations were conducted using both the University of California, Irvine (UCI) standard drift gas dataset, collected over 36 months, and drift signal data from our self-developed E-nose system, spanning 30 months. Compared to recent drift compensation methods, the AMDS-PFFA model achieves the highest average gas recognition accuracy with strong convergence, attaining 83.20% on the UCI dataset and 93.96% on data from our self-developed E-nose system across all target domain batches. These results demonstrate the superior performance of the AMDS-PFFA model in gas identification with drift compensation, significantly outperforming existing methods.

The implicit government guarantee hampers the recognition and management of risks by all stakeholders in the bond market, and it has led to excessive debt for local governments or state-owned enterprises. To prevent the risk of local government debt defaults and reduce investors' expectations of implicit government guarantees, various regulatory departments have issued a series of policy documents related to municipal investment bonds. By employing text mining techniques on policy documents related to municipal investment bond, and utilizing the PMC index model to assess the effectiveness of policy documents. This paper proposes a novel method for quantifying the intensity of implicit governmental guarantees based on PMC index model. The intensity of implicit governmental guarantees is inversely correlated with the PMC index of policies aimed at de-implicitizing governmental guarantees. Then as these policies become more effective, the intensity of implicit governmental guarantees diminishes correspondingly. These findings indicate that recent policies related to municipal investment bond have indeed succeeded in reducing implicit governmental guarantee intensity, and these policies have achieved the goal of risk management. GRB 230812B, detected by the Gamma-Ray Integrated Detectors (GRID) constellation mission, is an exceptionally bright gamma-ray burst (GRB) with a duration of only 3 seconds. Sitting near the traditional boundary ($\sim$ 2 s) between long and short GRBs, GRB 230812B is notably associated with a supernova (SN), indicating a massive star progenitor. This makes it a rare example of a short-duration GRB resulting from stellar collapse. Our analysis, using a time-evolving synchrotron model, suggests that the burst has an emission radius of approximately $10^{14.5}$~cm. We propose that the short duration of GRB 230812B is due to the combined effects of the central engine's activity time and the time required for the jet to break through the stellar envelope. Our findings provide another case that challenges the conventional view that short-duration GRBs originate exclusively from compact object mergers, demonstrating that a broader range of durations exists for GRBs arising from the collapse of massive stars., Comment: 10 pages, 3 tables, 11 figures

Study of phase transitions provide insights into how a many-body system behaves under different conditions, enabling us to understand the symmetry breaking, critical phenomena, and topological properties. Strong long-range interactions in highly excited Rydberg atoms create a versatile platform for exploring exotic emergent topological phases. Here, we report the experimental observation of dynamical topological phase transitions in cold Rydberg atomic gases under a microwave field driving. By measuring the system transmission curves while varying the probe intensity, we observe complex hysteresis trajectories characterized by distinct winding numbers as they cross the critical point. At the transition state, where the winding number flips, the topology of these hysteresis trajectories evolves into more non-trivial structures. The topological trajectories are shown to be robust against noise, confirming their rigidity in dynamic conditions. These findings contribute to the insights of emergence of complex dynamical topological phases in many-body systems.

Diamond particles have many interesting properties and possible applications. However, producing diamond particles with well-defined shapes at scale is challenging because diamonds are chemically inert and extremely hard. Here, we show air oxidation, a routine method for purifying diamonds, can be used to precisely shape diamond particles at scale. By exploiting the distinct reactivities of different crystal facets and defects inside the diamond, layer-by-layer outward-to-inward and inward-to-outward oxidation produced diverse diamond shapes including sphere, twisted surface, pyramidal islands, inverted pyramids, nano-flowers, and hollow polygons. The nanosculpted diamonds had more and finer features that enabled them to outperform the original raw diamonds in various applications. Using experimental observations and Monte Carlo simulations, we built a shape library that guides the design and fabrication of diamond particles with well-defined shapes and functional value. Our study presents a simple, economical and scalable way to produce shape-customized diamonds for various photonics, catalysis, quantum and information technology applications.

Spatial prediction problems often use Gaussian process models, which can be computationally burdensome in high dimensions. Specification of an appropriate covariance function for the model can be challenging when complex non-stationarities exist. Recent work has shown that pre-computed spatial basis functions and a feed-forward neural network can capture complex spatial dependence structures while remaining computationally efficient. This paper builds on this literature by tailoring spatial basis functions for use in convolutional neural networks. Through both simulated and real data, we demonstrate that this approach yields more accurate spatial predictions than existing methods. Uncertainty quantification is also considered.

With the rise of deep learning technology in practical applications, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have been able to assist humans in solving many real-world problems. To enhance the performance of CNNs, numerous network architectures have been explored. Some of these architectures are designed based on the accumulated experience of researchers over time, while others are designed through neural architecture search methods. The improvements made to CNNs by the aforementioned methods are quite significant, but most of the improvement methods are limited in reality by model size and environmental constraints, making it difficult to fully realize the improved performance. In recent years, research has found that many CNN structures can be explained by the discretization of ordinary differential equations. This implies that we can design theoretically supported deep network structures using higher-order numerical difference methods. It should be noted that most of the previous CNN model structures are based on low-order numerical methods. Therefore, considering that the accuracy of linear multi-step numerical difference methods is higher than that of the forward Euler method, this paper proposes a stacking scheme based on the linear multi-step method. This scheme enhances the performance of ResNet without increasing the model size and compares it with the Runge-Kutta scheme. The experimental results show that the performance of the stacking scheme proposed in this paper is superior to existing stacking schemes (ResNet and HO-ResNet), and it has the capability to be extended to other types of neural networks.

Thermoelectric materials can be designed to support optical resonances across multiple spectral ranges to enable ultra-wide band photodetection. For instance, antimony telluride (Sb2Te3) chalcogenide exhibits interband plasmonic resonances in the visible range and Mie resonances in the mid-infrared (mid-IR) range, while simultaneously possessing large thermoelectric Seebeck coefficients. In this paper, we designed and fabricated Sb2Te3 metasurface devices to achieve resonant absorption for enabling photodetectors operating across an ultra-wideband spectrum, from visible to mid-IR. Furthermore, relying on asymmetric Sb2Te3 metasurface, we demonstrated the thermoelectric photodetectors with polarization-selectivity. This work provides a potential platform towards the portable ultrawide band spectrometers at room temperature, for environmental sensing applications.

In this account, we will give an overview of our research progress on novel quantum properties in topological quantum materials with kagome lattice. Here, there are mainly two categories of kagome materials: magnetic kagome materials and nonmagnetic ones. On one hand, magnetic kagome materials mainly focus on the 3d transition-metal-based kagome systems, including Fe$_3$Sn$_2$, Co$_3$Sn$_2$S$_2$, YMn6Sn6, FeSn, and CoSn. The interplay between magnetism and topological bands manifests vital influence on the electronic response. For example, the existence of massive Dirac or Weyl fermions near the Fermi level signicantly enhances the magnitude of Berry curvature in momentum space, leading to a large intrinsic anomalous Hall effect. In addition, the peculiar frustrated structure of kagome materials enables them to host a topologically protected skyrmion lattice or noncoplaner spin texture, yielding a topological Hall effect that arises from the realspace Berry phase. On the other hand, nonmagnetic kagome materials in the absence of longrange magnetic order include CsV3Sb5 with the coexistence of superconductivity, charge density wave state, and band topology and van der Waals semiconductor Pd$_3$P$_2$S$_8$. For these two kagome materials, the tunability of electric response in terms of high pressure or carrier doping helps to reveal the interplay between electronic correlation effects and band topology and discover the novel emergent quantum phenomena in kagome materials., Comment: 10 pages,7 figures

An interior-point algorithm framework is proposed, analyzed, and tested for solving nonlinearly constrained continuous optimization problems. The main setting of interest is when the objective and constraint functions may be nonlinear and/or nonconvex, and when constraint values and derivatives are tractable to compute, but objective function values and derivatives can only be estimated. The algorithm is intended primarily for a setting that is similar for stochastic-gradient methods for unconstrained optimization, namely, the setting when stochastic-gradient estimates are available and employed in place of gradients of the objective, and when no objective function values (nor estimates of them) are employed. This is achieved by the interior-point framework having a single-loop structure rather than the nested-loop structure that is typical of contemporary interior-point methods. For completeness, convergence guarantees for the framework are provided both for deterministic and stochastic settings. Numerical experiments show that the algorithm yields good performance on a large set of test problems.

The interactions between Rydberg atoms and microwave fields provide a valuable framework for studying the complex dynamics out of equilibrium, exotic phases, and critical phenomena in many-body physics. This unique interplay allows us to explore various regimes of nonlinearity and phase transitions. Here, we observe a phase transition from the state in the regime of bistability to that in multistability in strongly interacting Rydberg atoms by varying the microwave field intensity, accompanying with the breaking of Z3-symmetry. During the phase transition, the system experiences a hidden critical point, in which the multistable states are difficult to be identified. Through changing the initial state of system, we can identify a hidden multistable state and reveal a hidden trajectory of phase transition, allowing us to track to a hidden critical point. In addition, we observe multiple phase transitions in spectra, suggesting higher-order symmetry breaking. The reported results shed light on manipulating multistability in dissipative Rydberg atoms systems and hold promise in the applications of non-equilibrium many-body physics., Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures

Traditional license plate detection and recognition models are often trained on closed datasets, limiting their ability to handle the diverse license plate formats across different regions. The emergence of large-scale pre-trained models has shown exceptional generalization capabilities, enabling few-shot and zero-shot learning. We propose OneShotLP, a training-free framework for video-based license plate detection and recognition, leveraging these advanced models. Starting with the license plate position in the first video frame, our method tracks this position across subsequent frames using a point tracking module, creating a trajectory of prompts. These prompts are input into a segmentation module that uses a promptable large segmentation model to generate local masks of the license plate regions. The segmented areas are then processed by multimodal large language models (MLLMs) for accurate license plate recognition. OneShotLP offers significant advantages, including the ability to function effectively without extensive training data and adaptability to various license plate styles. Experimental results on UFPR-ALPR and SSIG-SegPlate datasets demonstrate the superior accuracy of our approach compared to traditional methods. This highlights the potential of leveraging pre-trained models for diverse real-world applications in intelligent transportation systems. The interplay between strong long-range interactions and the coherent driving contribute to the formation of complex patterns, symmetry, and novel phases of matter in many-body systems. However, long-range interactions may induce an additional dissipation channel, resulting in non-Hermitian many-body dynamics and the emergence of exceptional points in spectrum. Here, we report experimental observation of interaction-induced exceptional points in cold Rydberg atomic gases, revealing the breaking of charge-conjugation parity symmetry. By measuring the transmission spectrum under increasing and decreasing probe intensity, the interaction-induced hysteresis trajectories are observed, which give rise to non-Hermitian dynamics. We record the area enclosed by hysteresis loops and investigate the dynamics of hysteresis loops. The reported exceptional points and hysteresis trajectories in cold Rydberg atomic gases provide valuable insights into the underlying non-Hermitian physics in many-body systems, allowing us to study the interplay between long-range interactions and non-Hermiticity.

Zero sample learning is an effective method for data deficiency. The existing embedded zero sample learning methods only use the known classes to construct the embedded space, so there is an overfitting of the known classes in the testing process. This project uses category semantic similarity measures to classify multiple tags. This enables it to incorporate unknown classes that have the same meaning as currently known classes into the vector space when it is built. At the same time, most of the existing zero sample learning algorithms directly use the depth features of medical images as input, and the feature extraction process does not consider semantic information. This project intends to take ELMo-MCT as the main task and obtain multiple visual features related to the original image through self-attention mechanism. In this paper, a large number of experiments are carried out on three zero-shot learning reference datasets, and the best harmonic average accuracy is obtained compared with the most advanced algorithms.

Virtual Try-On (VTON) has become a transformative technology, empowering users to experiment with fashion without ever having to physically try on clothing. However, existing methods often struggle with generating high-fidelity and detail-consistent results. While diffusion models, such as Stable Diffusion series, have shown their capability in creating high-quality and photorealistic images, they encounter formidable challenges in conditional generation scenarios like VTON. Specifically, these models struggle to maintain a balance between control and consistency when generating images for virtual clothing trials. OutfitAnyone addresses these limitations by leveraging a two-stream conditional diffusion model, enabling it to adeptly handle garment deformation for more lifelike results. It distinguishes itself with scalability-modulating factors such as pose, body shape and broad applicability, extending from anime to in-the-wild images. OutfitAnyone's performance in diverse scenarios underscores its utility and readiness for real-world deployment. 3D deblurring reconstruction techniques have recently seen significant advancements with the development of Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS). Although these techniques can recover relatively clear 3D reconstructions from blurry image inputs, they still face limitations in handling severe blurring and complex camera motion. To address these issues, we propose Event-assisted 3D Deblur Reconstruction with Gaussian Splatting (EaDeblur-GS), which integrates event camera data to enhance the robustness of 3DGS against motion blur. By employing an Adaptive Deviation Estimator (ADE) network to estimate Gaussian center deviations and using novel loss functions, EaDeblur-GS achieves sharp 3D reconstructions in real-time, demonstrating performance comparable to state-of-the-art methods.

Path planning for a nonholonomic mobile robot is a challenging problem. This paper proposes a novel space adaptive search (SAS) approach that greatly reduces the computation cost of nonholonomic mobile robot path planning. The classic search-based path planning only updates the state on the current location in each step, which is very inefficient, and, therefore, can easily be trapped by local minimum. The SAS updates not only the state of the current location, but also all states in the neighborhood, and the size of the neighborhood is adaptively varied based on the clearance around the current location at each step. Since a great deal of states can be immediately updated, the search can explore the local minimum and get rid of it very fast. As a result, the proposed approach can effectively deal with clustered environments with a large number of local minima. The SAS also utilizes a set of predefined motion primitives, and dynamically scales them into different sizes during the search to create various new primitives with differing sizes and curvatures. This greatly promotes the flexibility of the search of path planning in more complex environments. Unlike the A* family, which uses heuristic to accelerate the search, the experiments shows that the SAS requires much less computation time and memory cost even without heuristic than the weighted A* algorithm, while still preserving the optimality of the produced path. Neuromorphic sensors, specifically event cameras, revolutionize visual data acquisition by capturing pixel intensity changes with exceptional dynamic range, minimal latency, and energy efficiency, setting them apart from conventional frame-based cameras. The distinctive capabilities of event cameras have ignited significant interest in the domain of event-based action recognition, recognizing their vast potential for advancement. However, the development in this field is currently slowed by the lack of comprehensive, large-scale datasets, which are critical for developing robust recognition frameworks. To bridge this gap, we introduces DailyDVS-200, a meticulously curated benchmark dataset tailored for the event-based action recognition community. DailyDVS-200 is extensive, covering 200 action categories across real-world scenarios, recorded by 47 participants, and comprises more than 22,000 event sequences. This dataset is designed to reflect a broad spectrum of action types, scene complexities, and data acquisition diversity. Each sequence in the dataset is annotated with 14 attributes, ensuring a detailed characterization of the recorded actions. Moreover, DailyDVS-200 is structured to facilitate a wide range of research paths, offering a solid foundation for both validating existing approaches and inspiring novel methodologies. By setting a new benchmark in the field, we challenge the current limitations of neuromorphic data processing and invite a surge of new approaches in event-based action recognition techniques, which paves the way for future explorations in neuromorphic computing and beyond. Strategies to achieve higher upper-critical-field superconductors ({\mu}0Hc2(0)) are of great interest for both fundamental science and practical applications. While reducing the thickness of two-dimensional (2D) materials to a few layers significantly enhances {\mu}0Hc2(0) with accompanied potential unconventional pairing mechanisms, further dimensional reduction to 1D compounds rarely exceeds the expected Pauli limit. Here, we report the discovery of a 1D granular Ta-Te nanowire that becomes superconducting under high pressure, with a maximum critical temperature (Tc) of 5.1 K. Remarkably, the {\mu}0Hc2(0) reaches 16 T, which is twice the Pauli limit, setting a record of {\mu}0Hc2 (0) in all the reported 1D superconductors. Our work demonstrates that the Ta-Te nanowire not only is a potential candidate for applications in high magnetic fields, but also provides an ideal platform for further investigations of the mechanisms between nanowires and large {\mu}0Hc2(0)., Comment: 12 pages,4 figures

Unsupervised graph-level anomaly detection (UGAD) has garnered increasing attention in recent years due to its significance. However, most existing methods only rely on traditional graph neural networks to explore pairwise relationships but such kind of pairwise edges are not enough to describe multifaceted relationships involving anomaly. There is an emergency need to exploit node group information which plays a crucial role in UGAD. In addition, most previous works ignore the global underlying properties (e.g., hierarchy and power-law structure) which are common in real-world graph datasets and therefore are indispensable factors on UGAD task. In this paper, we propose a novel Dual Hyperbolic Contrastive Learning for Unsupervised Graph-Level Anomaly Detection (HC-GLAD in short). To exploit node group connections, we construct hypergraphs based on gold motifs and subsequently perform hypergraph convolution. Furthermore, to preserve the hierarchy of real-world graphs, we introduce hyperbolic geometry into this field and conduct both graph and hypergraph embedding learning in hyperbolic space with hyperboloid model. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to simultaneously apply hypergraph with node group connections and hyperbolic geometry into this field. Interactions among various electronic states such as CDW, magnetism, and superconductivity are of high significance in strongly correlated systems. While significant progress has been made in understanding the relationship between CDW and superconductivity, the interplay between CDW and magnetic order remains largely elusive. Kagome lattices, which intertwine nontrivial topology, charge order, and magnetism, offer an ideal platform for such studies. The kagome magnet FeGe, hosting the unique coupling between CDW and magnetism, has recently garnered considerable attention in that respect. Here we reveal the significant role of the orbital coupling effect during the CDW phase transition, highlighting the orbital origin of the magnetic moment enhancement in FeGe. Our X ray absorption experiments and first principles calculations illuminate the temperature dependent behavior of Fe3d_Ge4p orbital hybridization and corroborate its pivotal impact on the magnetic properties of FeGe. These findings introduce an orbital dimension to the correlation between charge and magnetic degrees of freedom, advancing our understanding of the intriguing quantum phases resulting from this interplay.

A planar hyper-lens, capable of creating sub-wavelength imaging for broadband electromagnetic wave, is designed based on electromagnetic null medium. Subsequently, a scheme for the implementation of the proposed hyper-lens is given by using well-designed flexural metal plates, which function as the reduced electromagnetic null medium for TM-polarized microwaves. Both simulated and measured results verify that the hyper-lens designed with flexural metal plates can achieve super-resolution imaging for microwave at operating wavelength ({\lambda}0=3cm) with a resolution of 0.25{\lambda}0 and a uniform magnification of about 5. Moreover, the designed hyper-lens ensures that both the object and image surfaces are planes, and simultaneously provides a uniform magnification for objects in different positions. Additionally, the proposed hyper-lens offers a broadband super-resolution imaging capabilities, achieving good super-resolution imaging effects for microwave frequencies ranging from 8.5 to 11 GHz. The proposed hyper-lens may find applications in high precision imaging, detection, and sensing.

Unsupervised graph-level anomaly detection (UGAD) has attracted increasing interest due to its widespread application. In recent studies, knowledge distillation-based methods have been widely used in unsupervised anomaly detection to improve model efficiency and generalization. However, the inherent symmetry between the source (teacher) and target (student) networks typically results in consistent outputs across both architectures, making it difficult to distinguish abnormal graphs from normal graphs. Also, existing methods mainly rely on graph features to distinguish anomalies, which may be unstable with complex and diverse data and fail to capture the essence that differentiates normal graphs from abnormal ones. In this work, we propose a Graph Normalizing Flows-driven Asymmetric Network For Unsupervised Graph-Level Anomaly Detection (FANFOLD in short). We introduce normalizing flows to unsupervised graph-level anomaly detection due to their successful application and superior quality in learning the underlying distribution of samples. Specifically, we adopt the knowledge distillation technique and apply normalizing flows on the source network, achieving the asymmetric network. In the training stage, FANFOLD transforms the original distribution of normal graphs to a standard normal distribution. During inference, FANFOLD computes the anomaly score using the source-target loss to discriminate between normal and anomalous graphs. We conduct extensive experiments on 15 datasets of different fields with 9 baseline methods to validate the superiority of FANFOLD.

Remote sensing shadow removal, which aims to recover contaminated surface information, is tricky since shadows typically display overwhelmingly low illumination intensities. In contrast, the infrared image is robust toward significant light changes, providing visual clues complementary to the visible image. Nevertheless, the existing methods ignore the collaboration between heterogeneous modalities, leading to undesired quality degradation. To fill this gap, we propose a weakly supervised shadow removal network with a spherical feature space, dubbed S2-ShadowNet, to explore the best of both worlds for visible and infrared modalities. Specifically, we employ a modal translation (visible-to-infrared) model to learn the cross-domain mapping, thus generating realistic infrared samples. Then, Swin Transformer is utilized to extract strong representational visible/infrared features. Simultaneously, the extracted features are mapped to the smooth spherical manifold, which alleviates the domain shift through regularization. Well-designed similarity loss and orthogonality loss are embedded into the spherical space, prompting the separation of private visible/infrared features and the alignment of shared visible/infrared features through constraints on both representation content and orientation. Such a manner encourages implicit reciprocity between modalities, thus providing a novel insight into shadow removal. Notably, ground truth is not available in practice, thus S2-ShadowNet is trained by cropping shadow and shadow-free patches from the shadow image itself, avoiding stereotypical and strict pair data acquisition. We present MIRReS, a novel two-stage inverse rendering framework that jointly reconstructs and optimizes the explicit geometry, material, and lighting from multi-view images. Unlike previous methods that rely on implicit irradiance fields or simplified path tracing algorithms, our method extracts an explicit geometry (triangular mesh) in stage one, and introduces a more realistic physically-based inverse rendering model that utilizes multi-bounce path tracing and Monte Carlo integration. By leveraging multi-bounce path tracing, our method effectively estimates indirect illumination, including self-shadowing and internal reflections, which improves the intrinsic decomposition of shape, material, and lighting. Moreover, we incorporate reservoir sampling into our framework to address the noise in Monte Carlo integration, enhancing convergence and facilitating gradient-based optimization with low sample counts. Through qualitative and quantitative evaluation of several scenarios, especially in challenging scenarios with complex shadows, we demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on decomposition results. Additionally, our optimized explicit geometry enables applications such as scene editing, relighting, and material editing with modern graphics engines or CAD software. In this paper, we consider a reaction-diffusion-advection SIS epidemic model with saturated incidence rate and linear source. We study the uniform bounds of parabolic system and some asymptotic behavior of the basic reproduction number $\mathcal{R}_0$, according to which the threshold-type dynamics are given. Furthermore, we show the globally asymptotic stability of the endemic equilibrium in a special case with a large saturated incidence rate. Meanwhile, we investigate the effects of diffusion, advection, saturation and linear source on the asymptotic profiles of the endemic equilibrium. Our study shows that advection may induce the concentration phenomenon and the disease will be eradicated with small dispersal rate of infected individuals. Moreover, our results also reveal that the linear source can enhance persistence of infectious disease and large saturation can help speed up the elimination of disease.

Scene graph generation (SGG) in satellite imagery (SAI) benefits promoting understanding of geospatial scenarios from perception to cognition. In SAI, objects exhibit great variations in scales and aspect ratios, and there exist rich relationships between objects (even between spatially disjoint objects), which makes it attractive to holistically conduct SGG in large-size very-high-resolution (VHR) SAI. However, there lack such SGG datasets. Due to the complexity of large-size SAI, mining triplets heavily relies on long-range contextual reasoning. Consequently, SGG models designed for small-size natural imagery are not directly applicable to large-size SAI. This paper constructs a large-scale dataset for SGG in large-size VHR SAI with image sizes ranging from 512 x 768 to 27,860 x 31,096 pixels, named STAR (Scene graph generaTion in lArge-size satellite imageRy), encompassing over 210K objects and over 400K triplets. To realize SGG in large-size SAI, we propose a context-aware cascade cognition (CAC) framework to understand SAI regarding object detection (OBD), pair pruning and relationship prediction for SGG. We also release a SAI-oriented SGG toolkit with about 30 OBD and 10 SGG methods which need further adaptation by our devised modules on our challenging STAR dataset. Understanding the interplay between egocentric preference and urban structure in shaping human mobility has profound implications for improving epidemic intervention, social equity, and urban resilience. However, numerous existing studies either solely identify the egocentric preferences -- the anchoring effects from home -- or the impact of hierarchical urban structures. Here, we propose a network-based approach to present human mobility in both spatial and topological aspects within the urban system, using cell phone trajectory data from millions of users across three countries. By segmenting mobility trajectories into modules and examining their overlap with urban scales, we have observed the inflation law that the geospatial extent of these modules increases sub-linearly with their distance from home. Moreover, the egocentric preference for higher urban levels leads to this increase. This universal finding indicates that home-based preferences distort the hierarchical scales of human mobility in the urban environment, regardless of demographics or geography., Comment: 15 pages, 6 figures

Metasurface has witnessed an urgent need for reconfigurable chiral manipulation recently, while the graphene-based devices attracted significant attention from researchers due to their inherent tunable properties. Here, an L-shaped metasurface composed of three hollow monolayer graphene resonant rings is proposed. A huge dual-frequency asymmetric transmission (AT) in the mid-infrared band (7800 nm-9000 nm) with transmission efficiency peaks of 0.14 and 0.26 is revealed, which is optimal of its similar monolayer counterparts in the current band. By changing the Fermi level of graphene and the relaxation time of its carriers, the AT spectrum including the positions and widths of the peaks can be effectively modulated. More importantly, the structure designed here gives priority to the machinability of the metasurface configuration, ensuring its practicality and promising applications in chiral applications in the future.

Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USVs) are pivotal in marine exploration, but their sensors' accuracy is compromised by the dynamic marine environment. Traditional calibration methods fall short in these conditions. This paper introduces a deep learning architecture that predicts changes in the USV's dynamic metacenter and refines sensors' extrinsic parameters in real time using a Time-Sequence General Regression Neural Network (GRNN) with Euler angles as input. Simulation data from Unity3D ensures robust training and testing. Experimental results show that the Time-Sequence GRNN achieves the lowest mean squared error (MSE) loss, outperforming traditional neural networks. This method significantly enhances sensor calibration for USVs, promising improved data accuracy in challenging maritime conditions. The advancement of diffusion models has pushed the boundary of text-to-3D object generation. While it is straightforward to composite objects into a scene with reasonable geometry, it is nontrivial to texture such a scene perfectly due to style inconsistency and occlusions between objects. To tackle these problems, we propose a coarse-to-fine 3D scene texturing framework, referred to as RoomTex, to generate high-fidelity and style-consistent textures for untextured compositional scene meshes. In the coarse stage, RoomTex first unwraps the scene mesh to a panoramic depth map and leverages ControlNet to generate a room panorama, which is regarded as the coarse reference to ensure the global texture consistency. In the fine stage, based on the panoramic image and perspective depth maps, RoomTex will refine and texture every single object in the room iteratively along a series of selected camera views, until this object is completely painted. Moreover, we propose to maintain superior alignment between RGB and depth spaces via subtle edge detection methods. Extensive experiments show our method is capable of generating high-quality and diverse room textures, and more importantly, supporting interactive fine-grained texture control and flexible scene editing thanks to our inpainting-based framework and compositional mesh input. In this study, we formulate a thermodynamically consistent rheological model for yield stress fluids by introducing an internal dynamic variable and extending the framework established by Kamani et al (2021) and the classical Oldroyd-B model. The dynamics of the internal variable capture the material's transient response to changes in deformation, characterized by an effective relaxation time, elastic modulus, and viscosity. To assess the model's validity and range of applicability, we compare it with the recently developed Kamani-Donley-Rogers (KDR) model in terms of various material and rheometric functions, highlighting both divergences and parallels between the two models. Our numerical results on a host of material functions and rheological parameters illustrate the practical applicability and advantages of the new thermodynamically consistent model over the KDR model. Specifically, the new model complies with the second law of thermodynamics and can describe a broader range of rheological properties of yield stress fluids.

Among the most intriguing features of non-Hermitian (NH) systems is the ability of complex energies to form braids under parametric variation. Several braiding behaviors, including link and knot formation, have been observed in experiments on synthetic NH systems, such as looped optical fibers. The exact conditions for these phenomena remain unsettled, but existing demonstrations have involved long-range nonreciprocal hoppings, which are hard to implement on many experimental platforms. Here, we present a route to realizing complex energy braids using 1D NH Aubry-Andr\'e-Harper lattices. Under purely local gain and loss modulation, the eigenstates exhibit a variety of braiding behaviors, including unknots, Hopf links, trefoil knots, Solomon links and catenanes. We show how these are created by the interplay between non-Hermiticity and the lattice's bulk states and topological edge states. The transitions between different braids are marked by changes in the global Berry phase of the NH lattice.

Ubiquitous mobile devices are generating vast amounts of location-based service data that reveal how individuals navigate and utilize urban spaces in detail. In this study, we utilize these extensive, unlabeled sequences of user trajectories to develop a foundation model for understanding urban space and human mobility. We introduce the \textbf{P}retrained \textbf{M}obility \textbf{T}ransformer (PMT), which leverages the transformer architecture to process user trajectories in an autoregressive manner, converting geographical areas into tokens and embedding spatial and temporal information within these representations. Experiments conducted in three U.S. metropolitan areas over a two-month period demonstrate PMT's ability to capture underlying geographic and socio-demographic characteristics of regions. The proposed PMT excels across various downstream tasks, including next-location prediction, trajectory imputation, and trajectory generation. These results support PMT's capability and effectiveness in decoding complex patterns of human mobility, offering new insights into urban spatial functionality and individual mobility preferences.

From paired image-text training to text-only training for image captioning, the pursuit of relaxing the requirements for high-cost and large-scale annotation of good quality data remains consistent. In this paper, we propose Text-only Synthesis for Image Captioning (ToCa), which further advances this relaxation with fewer human labor and less computing time. Specifically, we deconstruct caption text into structures and lexical words, which serve as the fundamental components of the caption. By combining different structures and lexical words as inputs to the large language model, massive captions that contain various patterns of lexical words are generated. This method not only approaches the target domain but also surpasses it by generating new captions, thereby enhancing the zero-shot generalization ability of the model. Considering the different levels of data access in the real world, we define three synthesis scenarios: cross-domain synthesis, in-domain synthesis, and data-efficient synthesis. Experiments in these scenarios demonstrate the generalizability, transferability and practicability of ToCa with a nearly 5 CIDEr improvement for zero-shot cross-domain captioning and a maximum increase of over 20 CIDEr for data-efficient captioning.

Topological phases associated with non-Abelian charges can exhibit a distinguished bulk-edge correspondence compared with Abelian phases, although elucidating this relationship remains challenging in traditional solid-state systems. In this paper, we propose a theoretical framework for synthesizing non-Abelian quaternion charges in ultracold atomic gases. By designing artificial spin-orbit coupling patterns, the topological edge modes demonstrate a clear correspondence with the band topology determined by various quaternion charges. This paves the way for observing the interface modes whose existence is attributed to the nonconservation multiplication relation, which is fundamental to non-Abelian charges. The traditional SegNet architecture commonly encounters significant information loss during the sampling process, which detrimentally affects its accuracy in image semantic segmentation tasks. To counter this challenge, we introduce an innovative encoder-decoder network structure enhanced with residual connections. Our approach employs a multi-residual connection strategy designed to preserve the intricate details across various image scales more effectively, thus minimizing the information loss inherent to down-sampling procedures. Additionally, to enhance the convergence rate of network training and mitigate sample imbalance issues, we have devised a modified cross-entropy loss function incorporating a balancing factor. This modification optimizes the distribution between positive and negative samples, thus improving the efficiency of model training. Experimental evaluations of our model demonstrate a substantial reduction in information loss and improved accuracy in semantic segmentation. Notably, our proposed network architecture demonstrates a substantial improvement in the finely annotated mean Intersection over Union (mIoU) on the dataset compared to the conventional SegNet. The proposed network structure not only reduces operational costs by decreasing manual inspection needs but also scales up the deployment of AI-driven image analysis across different sectors.

This paper addresses the challenge of collision-free motion planning in automated navigation within complex environments. Utilizing advancements in Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) and sensor technologies like LiDAR, we propose the TD3-DWA algorithm, an innovative fusion of the traditional Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) with the Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (TD3). This hybrid algorithm enhances the efficiency of robotic path planning by optimizing the sampling interval parameters of DWA to effectively navigate around both static and dynamic obstacles. The performance of the TD3-DWA algorithm is validated through various simulation experiments, demonstrating its potential to significantly improve the reliability and safety of autonomous navigation systems.

Previous efforts have managed to generate production-ready 3D assets from text or images. However, these methods primarily employ NeRF or 3D Gaussian representations, which are not adept at producing smooth, high-quality geometries required by modern rendering pipelines. In this paper, we propose LDM, a novel feed-forward framework capable of generating high-fidelity, illumination-decoupled textured mesh from a single image or text prompts. We firstly utilize a multi-view diffusion model to generate sparse multi-view inputs from single images or text prompts, and then a transformer-based model is trained to predict a tensorial SDF field from these sparse multi-view image inputs. Finally, we employ a gradient-based mesh optimization layer to refine this model, enabling it to produce an SDF field from which high-quality textured meshes can be extracted. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method can generate diverse, high-quality 3D mesh assets with corresponding decomposed RGB textures within seconds.

Few-shot segmentation (FSS) for remote sensing (RS) imagery leverages supporting information from limited annotated samples to achieve query segmentation of novel classes. Previous efforts are dedicated to mining segmentation-guiding visual cues from a constrained set of support samples. However, they still struggle to address the pronounced intra-class differences in RS images, as sparse visual cues make it challenging to establish robust class-specific representations. In this paper, we propose a holistic semantic embedding (HSE) approach that effectively harnesses general semantic knowledge, i.e., class description (CD) embeddings.Instead of the naive combination of CD embeddings and visual features for segmentation decoding, we investigate embedding the general semantic knowledge during the feature extraction stage.Specifically, in HSE, a spatial dense interaction module allows the interaction of visual support features with CD embeddings along the spatial dimension via self-attention.Furthermore, a global content modulation module efficiently augments the global information of the target category in both support and query features, thanks to the transformative fusion of visual features and CD embeddings.These two components holistically synergize general CD embeddings and visual cues, constructing a robust class-specific representation.Through extensive experiments on the standard FSS benchmark, the proposed HSE approach demonstrates superior performance compared to peer work, setting a new state-of-the-art.

Few-shot learning aims to generalize the recognizer from seen categories to an entirely novel scenario. With only a few support samples, several advanced methods initially introduce class names as prior knowledge for identifying novel classes. However, obstacles still impede achieving a comprehensive understanding of how to harness the mutual advantages of visual and textual knowledge. In this paper, we propose a coherent Bidirectional Knowledge Permeation strategy called BiKop, which is grounded in a human intuition: A class name description offers a general representation, whereas an image captures the specificity of individuals. BiKop primarily establishes a hierarchical joint general-specific representation through bidirectional knowledge permeation. On the other hand, considering the bias of joint representation towards the base set, we disentangle base-class-relevant semantics during training, thereby alleviating the suppression of potential novel-class-relevant information. Experiments on four challenging benchmarks demonstrate the remarkable superiority of BiKop. Our code will be publicly available.

We present photometric and spectroscopic observations and analysis of the type IIb supernova (SN) SN 2019tua, which exhibits multiple bumps in its declining light curves between 40 and 65 days after discovery. SN 2019tua shows a time to peak of about 25 days similar to other type IIb SNe. Our observations indicate a decrease in its brightness of about 1 magnitude in the 60 days after the peak. At about days 50, and 60, its multiband light curves exhibit bumpy behavior. The complex luminosity evolution of SN 2019tua could not be well modeled with a single currently popular energy source model, e.g., radioactive decay of $^{56}$Ni, magnetar, interaction between the ejecta and a circumstellar shell. Even though the magnetar model has a smaller $\chi^2 / \text{dof}$ value, the complex changes in SN 2019tua's brightness suggest that more than one physical process might be involved. We propose a hybrid CSM interaction plus $^{56}$Ni model to explain the bolometric light curve (LC) of SN 2019tua. The fitting results show that the ejecta mass $M_{\rm ej} \approx 2.4~M_\odot$, the total CSM mass $M_{\rm CSM} \approx 1.0~M_\odot$, and the $^{56}$Ni mass $M_{\rm Ni} \approx 0.4~M_\odot$. The total kinetic energy of the ejecta is $E_k\approx 0.5 \times 10^{51}\rm~erg$. We report the photometric analysis of SU UMa based on the observations of the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). TESS has released a large amount of data, which contains the light curves of a complete superoutburst and three normal outbursts of SU UMa. Based on the observations, the evolution of superhumps during the superoutburst was analyzed. By using the O - C method, the three stages were determined, and the superhump period for each stage was calculated. The mass ratio $q=0.137 (1)$ was estimated based on the stage A superhump method. A periodic oscillation with a period of 2.17(9) days was found in the superhump minimum O - C diagram, which is related to the precession of the accretion disk. We investigated the frequency information of quasiperiodic oscillations (QPOs) in the light curves. An ultralong period QPO of 0.18 days at the time of normal outburst and two ultralong periods QPOs of 0.19 days and 0.285 days in quiescence were found. The internal structure and operation mechanism of large-scale language models are analyzed theoretically, especially how Transformer and its derivative architectures can restrict computing efficiency while capturing long-term dependencies. Further, we dig deep into the efficiency bottleneck of the training phase, and evaluate in detail the contribution of adaptive optimization algorithms (such as AdamW), massively parallel computing techniques, and mixed precision training strategies to accelerate convergence and reduce memory footprint. By analyzing the mathematical principles and implementation details of these algorithms, we reveal how they effectively improve training efficiency in practice. In terms of model deployment and inference optimization, this paper systematically reviews the latest advances in model compression techniques, focusing on strategies such as quantification, pruning, and knowledge distillation. By comparing the theoretical frameworks of these techniques and their effects in different application scenarios, we demonstrate their ability to significantly reduce model size and inference delay while maintaining model prediction accuracy. In addition, this paper critically examines the limitations of current efficiency optimization methods, such as the increased risk of overfitting, the control of performance loss after compression, and the problem of algorithm generality, and proposes some prospects for future research. In conclusion, this study provides a comprehensive theoretical framework for understanding the efficiency optimization of large-scale language models.

Recently, implicit neural representation has been widely used to generate animatable human avatars. However, the materials and geometry of those representations are coupled in the neural network and hard to edit, which hinders their application in traditional graphics engines. We present a framework for acquiring human avatars that are attached with high-resolution physically-based material textures and triangular mesh from monocular video. Our method introduces a novel information fusion strategy to combine the information from the monocular video and synthesize virtual multi-view images to tackle the sparsity of the input view. We reconstruct humans as deformable neural implicit surfaces and extract triangle mesh in a well-behaved pose as the initial mesh of the next stage. In addition, we introduce an approach to correct the bias for the boundary and size of the coarse mesh extracted. Finally, we adapt prior knowledge of the latent diffusion model at super-resolution in multi-view to distill the decomposed texture. Experiments show that our approach outperforms previous representations in terms of high fidelity, and this explicit result supports deployment on common renderers.

We explore the fermion oscillation in a degenerate environment. The direct consequence is introducing a Pauli blocking factor $1 - f_i$, where $f_i$ is the phase space distribution function, for each intermediate mass eigenstate during propagation. It is then much easier for a state with larger existing fraction or density to oscillate into other states with less degeneracy while the reversed process is not enhanced. This can significantly modify the oscillation behaviors. We apply this degenerate fermion oscillation to a concrete scenario of neutron-antineutron oscillation in neutron star. It turns out antineutrons receive a standing fraction to annihilate with the environmental neutrons. The subsequent neutron star heating can put an extremely stringent bound on the baryon number violating cross mass term between neutron and antineutron., Comment: 6 pages, 3 figures

As an empirical tool in materials science and engineering, the iconic phase diagram owes its robustness and practicality to the topological characteristics rooted in the celebrated Gibbs phase law (F = C - P + 2). When crossing the phase diagram boundary, the structure transition occurs abruptly, bringing about an instantaneous change in physical properties and limited controllability on the boundaries (F = 1). Here, we expand the sharp phase boundary to an amorphous transition region (F = 2) by partially disrupting the long-range translational symmetry, leading to a sequential crystalline-amorphous-crystalline (CAC) transition in a pressurized In2Te5 single crystal. Through detailed in-situ synchrotron diffraction, we elucidate that the phase transition stems from the rotation of immobile blocks [In2Te2]2+, linked by hinge-like [Te3]2- trimers. Remarkably, within the amorphous region, the amorphous phase demonstrates a notable 25 % increase of the superconducting transition temperature (Tc), while the carrier concentration remains relatively constant. Furthermore, we propose a theoretical framework revealing that the unconventional boost in amorphous superconductivity might be attributed to an intensified electron correlation, triggered by a disorder-augmented multifractal behavior. Unsupervised graph-level anomaly detection (UGAD) has received remarkable performance in various critical disciplines, such as chemistry analysis and bioinformatics. Existing UGAD paradigms often adopt data augmentation techniques to construct multiple views, and then employ different strategies to obtain representations from different views for jointly conducting UGAD. However, most previous works only considered the relationship between nodes/graphs from a limited receptive field, resulting in some key structure patterns and feature information being neglected. In addition, most existing methods consider different views separately in a parallel manner, which is not able to explore the inter-relationship across different views directly. Thus, a method with a larger receptive field that can explore the inter-relationship across different views directly is in need. In this paper, we propose a novel Simplified Transformer with Cross-View Attention for Unsupervised Graph-level Anomaly Detection, namely, CVTGAD. To increase the receptive field, we construct a simplified transformer-based module, exploiting the relationship between nodes/graphs from both intra-graph and inter-graph perspectives. Furthermore, we design a cross-view attention mechanism to directly exploit the view co-occurrence between different views, bridging the inter-view gap at node level and graph level. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to apply transformer and cross attention to UGAD, which realizes graph neural network and transformer working collaboratively. Extensive experiments on 15 real-world datasets of 3 fields demonstrate the superiority of CVTGAD on the UGAD task. The code is available at \url{https://github.com/jindongli-Ai/CVTGAD}.

We study the masses of light tetraquark states $ud\bar{u}\bar{d}$ , $us\bar{u}\bar{s}$ and $ss\bar{s}\bar{s}$ with exotic quantum numbers $J^{PC}=2^{+-}$ using the method of QCD sum rules. It is found that there is no tetraquark operator with two Lorentz indices coupling to the $2^{+-}$ quantum numbers. To investigate such tetraquark states, we construct the interpolating tetraquark currents with three Lorentz indices and without derivative operator. We calculate the correlation functions up to dimension 10 condensates, and extract the $2^{+-}$ invariant functions via the projector operator. Our results show that the masses of the $ud\bar{u}\bar{d}$, $us\bar{u}\bar{s}$ and $ss\bar{s}\bar{s}$ tetraquark states with $J^{PC}=2^{+-}$ are about $3.3-3.5 ~\mathrm{GeV}$, $3.5-3.7 ~\mathrm{GeV}$ and $3.67 ~\mathrm{GeV}$, respectively. We further discuss the strong decays of these light tetraquarks into the two-meson and baryon-antibaryon final states, and suggest to search for them in the $\rho\pi, \omega\pi, \phi\pi$, $b_{1}\pi$, $h_{1}\pi$, $K\bar K^\ast, K\bar{K}_{1}$, $\Delta\bar{\Delta}$, $\Sigma^{\ast} \bar{\Sigma }^{\ast}$, $\Xi^{\ast} \bar{\Xi }^{\ast}$, $\Omega\bar{\Omega }$ channels in the future., Comment: 12 pages, 7 figures.
