In this paper, we present two multiple scalar auxiliary variable (MSAV)-based, finite element numerical schemes for the Abels-Garcke-Gr{\"u}n (AGG) model, which is a thermodynamically consistent phase field model of two-phase incompressible flows with different densities. Both schemes are decoupled, linear, second-order in time, and the numerical implementation turns out to be straightforward. The first scheme solves the Navier-Stokes equations in a saddle point formulation, while the second one employs the artificial compressibility method, leading to a fully decoupled structure with a time-independent pressure update equation. In terms of computational cost, only a sequence of independent elliptic or saddle point systems needs to be solved at each time step. At a theoretical level, the unique solvability and unconditional energy stability (with respect to a modified energy functional) of the proposed schemes are established. In addition, comprehensive numerical simulations are performed to verify the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed schemes.

We present a detailed analysis of the observations with the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope of the black hole X-ray transient 4U~1543-47 during its outburst in 2021. We find a clear state transition during the outburst decay of the source. Using previous measurements of the black-hole mass and distance to the source, the source luminosity during this transition is close to the Eddington limit. The light curves before and after the transition can be fitted by two exponential functions with short ($\sim 16$ days) and long ($\sim 130$ days) decay time scales, respectively. We detect strong reflection features in all observations that can be described with either the RelxillNS or Reflionx_bb reflection models, both of which have a black-body incident spectrum. In the super-Eddington state, we observe a Comptonized component characterized by a low electron temperature of approximately 2.0 keV. We suggest that this component appears exclusively within the inner radiation-pressure dominated region of the supercritical disk as a part of the intrinsic spectrum of the accretion disk itself. This feature vanishes as the source transitions into the sub-Eddington state. The emissivity index of the accretion disk in the reflection component is significantly different before and after the transition, $\sim3.0$-$5.0$ and $\sim7.0$-$9.0$ in the super- and sub-Eddington states, respectively. Based on the reflection geometry of returning disk radiation, the geometrically thicker the accretion disk, the smaller the emissivity index. Therefore, we propose that the transition is primarily driven by the change of the accretion flow from a supercritical to a thin disk configuration.

We conducted an analysis of 45 bursts observed from 4U 1636$-$53. To investigate the mechanism behind the light curve profiles and the impact of thermonuclear X-ray bursts on the accretion environment in accreting neutron star low-mass X-ray binaries. This analysis employed both light curve and time-resolved spectroscopy methodologies, with data collected by the \textit{Insight}-HXMT instrument. We found that 30 bursts exhibited similar light curve profiles and were predominantly in the hard state, and two photospheric radius expansion (PRE) bursts were in the soft state. The light curves of most bursts did not follow a single exponential decay but displayed a dual-exponential behavior. The initial exponent had a duration of approximately 6 s. We utilized both the standard method and the `$f_{\rm a}$' method to fit the burst spectra. The majority of the `$f_{\rm a}$' values exceeded 1, indicating an enhancement of the persistent emission during the burst. Under the two comptonization components assumption, we suggest that the scattering of burst photons by the inner corona may mainly contribute to the persistent emission enhancement. We also observed an inverse correlation between the maximum $f_{\rm a}$ and the persistent emission flux in the non-PRE burst. This anti-correlation suggests that when the accretion rate is lower, there is a greater enhancement of persistent emission during the burst peak. Currently astrometric microlensing is the only tool that can directly measure the mass of a single star, it can also help us to detect compact objects like isolated neutron stars and black holes. The number of microlensing events that are being predicted and reported is increasing. In the paper, the potential lens stars are selected from three types of stars, high-proper-motion stars, nearby stars and high-mass stars. For each potential lens star, we select a larger search scope to find possible matching sources to avoid missing events as much as possible. Using Gaia DR3 data, we predict 4500 astrometric microlensing events with signal>0.1mas that occur between J2010.0 and J2070.0, where 1664 events are different from those found previously. There are 293 lens stars that can cause two or more events, where 5 lens stars can cause more than 50 events. We find that 116 events have the distance of background stars from the proper motion path of lens stars more than 8 arcsec in the reference epoch, where the maximum distance is 16.6 arcsec, so the cone search method of expanding the search range of sources for each potential lens star can reduce the possibility of missing events., Comment: This article has been accepted by Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society

The emission of gamma-ray burst (GRB) 221009A at 18 TeV has been detected by the large high-altitude air shower observatory (LHAASO). We suggest jitter radiation as a possible explanation for the TeV emission for this energetic GRB. In our scenario, the radiation field is linked to the perturbation field, and the perturbation field is dominated by kinetic turbulence. Kinetic turbulence takes a vital role in both magnetic field generation and particle acceleration. The jitter radiation can reach the TeV energy band when we consider either electron cooling or Landau damping. We further suggest that the jitter radiation in the very high-energy band is coherent emission. Our modeling results can be constrained by the observational results of GRB 221009A in the TeV energy band. The extragalactic background light (EBL) in the IR to UV bands partly absorbs very high energy (VHE, $E \geq$ 100GeV) $\gamma-$ray photons travelling over cosmological distances via pair production. In this paper, to get stronger constraints on EBL, we use the deliberate selection of the EBL model and data of five BL Lacs with better statistics and the harder spectra to limit the EBL density and the radiation mechanism of BL Lacs. We constrain the upper limit of the EBL density by fitting the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of TeV BL Lacs and find that our results are compatible with the published measurement, reaching 50 $\rm{nW m^{-2} sr^{-1}}$. We also obtain that the EBL is not necessarily transparent to high VHE photons. We fix the intrinsic spectral index $\Gamma_i$ of TeV BL Lacs as 1.0 and 1.5 under observation evidence and model assumption. Comparing the EBL density given by galaxy count and $Spitzer$ observations, we then obtain that 1ES 1101-232 has $\Gamma_i$ $\leq$ 1.0 and 1ES 0229+200 should have $\Gamma_i$ not harder than 1.0. We demonstrate that the common radiation assumption of BL Lacs, in which the $\Gamma_i$ is softer than 1.5, should be revisited. We show generically that the dynamics of a probe particle near the event horizon of a non-extreme black hole is described by the tachyon effective action. The Hagedorn temperature in the action is always equal to the Hawking temperature of the background black hole. The fact suggests that the infalling particle should decay completely into gravitons or closed strings approaching the event horizon. The increased area in the black hole due to absorption of a particle should be interpreted as the entropy of degenerate states of the closed strings that the particle decays into. With the energy match condition between the infalling particle and the emitted closed strings on the event horizon, we examine this variational area-entropy relation and find that it matches in all cases if the closed string emission process from an unstable D0-brane obeys the first law., Comment: 12 pages

The emission from the accreting black holes (BHs) in low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) covers a broad energy band from radio to X-rays. Studying the correlations between emission in different energy bands during outbursts can provide valuable information about the accretion process. We analyse the simultaneous optical, ultraviolet (UV) and X-ray data of the BH-LMXB Swift J1753.5-0127 during its $\sim$ 12-year long outburst with the {\it Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory}. We find that the UV/optical and X-ray emission are strongly correlated during the hard states of the outburst. We fit the relation with a power-law function $F_{UV/optical} \propto F_{X}^{\beta}$ and find that the power-law index $\beta$ increases from $\sim$ 0.24 to $\sim$ 0.33 as the UV/optical wavelength decreases from $\sim$ 5400 \r{A} (V) to $\sim$ 2030 \r{A} (UVW2). We explore the possible reasons for this and suggest that in Swift J1753.5-0127 the UV/optical emission is dominated by a viscously heated accretion disc at large radii. We find that the data that deviate from the correlation correspond to the low-intensity peaks appeared in the X-ray band during the outburst, and suggest that these deviations are driven by the emission from the inner part of the accretion disc., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures, 1 table, accepted by MNRAS

We propose a generalization of our previous KDE (kernel density estimation) method for estimating luminosity functions (LFs). This new upgrade further extend the application scope of our KDE method, making it a very flexible approach which is suitable to deal with most of bivariate LF calculation problems. From the mathematical point of view, usually the LF calculation can be abstracted as a density estimation problem in the bounded domain of $\{Z_1f_{\mathrm{lim}}(z) \}$. We use the transformation-reflection KDE method ($\hat{\phi}$) to solve the problem, and introduce an approximate method ($\hat{\phi}_{\mathrm{1}}$) based on one-dimensional KDE to deal with the small sample size case. In practical applications, the different versions of LF estimators can be flexibly chosen according to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test criterion. Based on 200 simulated samples, we find that for both cases of dividing or not dividing redshift bins, especially for the latter, our method performs significantly better than the traditional binning method $\hat{\phi}_{\mathrm{bin}}$. Moreover, with the increase of sample size $n$, our LF estimator converges to the true LF remarkably faster than $\hat{\phi}_{\mathrm{bin}}$. To implement our method, we have developed a public, open-source Python Toolkit, called \texttt{kdeLF}. The $\gamma$-ray spectral feature of the blazar 1ES 0502+675 is investigated by using Fermi Large Area Telescope (Fermi-LAT) Pass 8 data (between 100 MeV and 300 GeV) covering from 2008 August to 2021 April. A significant ($\sim4\sigma$) hardening at $\sim$ 1 GeV is found in the $\gamma$-ray spectrum during a moderately flaring state (MJD 55050-55350). The photon index below and above the break energy is $\Gamma_1=2.36\pm0.31$ and $\Gamma_2=1.33\pm0.11$, respectively. In the rest of the observations, the $\gamma$-ray spectrum can be described by a power-law form with the photon index of $\approx1.6$. In the frame of a one-zone synchrotron self-Compton (SSC) model, the spectral hardening is interpreted as the transition between the synchrotron component and the SSC component. The precise astrometric observation of small near-Earth objects (NEOs) is an important observational research topic in the astrometric discipline, which greatly promotes multidisciplinary research, such as the origin and evolution of the solar system, the detection and early warning of small NEOs, and deep-space navigation. The characteristics of small NEOs, such as faintness and fast moving speed, restrict the accuracy and precision of their astrometric observations. In the paper, we present a method to improve the accurate and precise astrometric positions of NEOs based on image fusion technique. The noise analysis and astrometric test from the observed images of the open cluster M23 are given. Using the image fusion technique, we obtain the sets of superimposed images and original images containing reference stars and moving targets respectively. The final fused image set includes background stars with high signal-to-noise ratios and ideal NEO images simultaneously and avoids the saturation of background stars. Using the fused images, we can reduce the influence of telescope tracking and NEO ephemeris errors on astrometric observations, and our results indicate that the accuracy and precision of NEO Eros astrometry are improved obviously after we choose suitable image fuse mode.
