Background With the aging of the population, it is essential to implement fall prevention programs for the elderly. Although China has carried out fall prevention programs sporadically, among which comprehensive fall prevention programs centered on exercise intervention are rare, and there have been no investigations about the willingness of elderly people at high risk of falls in the community to participate in comprehensive fall prevention programs. Objective To examine the intention of community-living elderly residents at high risk of falls to participate in comprehensive fall-prevention programs, and associated factors, providing a theoretical basis for the implementation of such programs. Methods By economic level and geographical location, we selected three communities from Shanghai as research settings, namely, Tangqiao Community in Pudong New Area (central urban area) , Zhaoxiang Community in Qingpu District (outer suburb) and Gangyan Community in Chongming County (outer suburb) . Elderly people aged 65 and above who participated in physical examinations in the three communities from 2018 to 2019 were invited to attend a survey using a questionnaire consisting of demographics, FROP-Com Screen, MFROP-Com Tool, self-designed fall risk questionnaire, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) , and Generalized Anxiety Disorder scale (GAD-7) . Individuals with the FROP-Com Screen scale score >3 points were identified with risk of falls, among whom those with total score of MFROP-Com Tool≥11.5 points (high risk of falls) were included finally. Results In total, 318 cases were detected with high risk of falls, among whom 62 (19.5%) thought falls were unpreventable. Slippery floor〔73 respondents (23.0%) 〕, inattention〔64 respondents (20.1%) 〕and physical discomfort〔64 respondents (20.1%) 〕were reported to be the three leading causes of falls. Two hundred and fourteen (67.3%) were willing to participate in fall prevention programs. Objective To analyze the risk factors for prognosis of patients with malignant bowel obstruction (MBO) using multiple factors, and establish the nomogram model for predicting the survival of patients with MBO. Methods The clinical data of 203 patients with MBO from June 2013 to June 2019 who were followed up in our hospital were analyzed retrospectively. Results A total of 143 (70.4%) patients have been followed up. We give investigations on a kernel function approximation problem arising from learning theory and show the convergence rate from the view of classical Fourier analysis. First, we provide the general definition for a modulus of smoothness and a K -functional, and show that they are equivalent. In particular, we give explicit representation for some moduli of smoothness. Second, we establish some Jackson-type inequalities for the approximation error associated with some non-radial kernels. Also we apply these results to some concrete classical kernel function spaces and give Jackson-type inequalities for some concrete RKHS approximation problems. Finally, we apply these discussions to learning theory and describe the learning rates with the moduli of smoothness. The tools we used are Fourier analysis and the semigroup operator. The results show that the Jackson-type inequalities of approximation by some radial kernel functions on compact set with nonempty interiors cannot be expressed with the classical moduli of smoothness. The purpose of the study was to screen out alfalfa varieties suitable for planting in arid and semi-arid areas. Five alfalfa varieties were selected as experimental materials and treated with polyethylene glycol (PEG) to simulate drought stress (10%, 15%, and 20%). The germination rate, germination index, simplified vigor index, and drought resistance index of alfalfa seeds were measured, and the drought resistance of the tested alfalfa materials was evaluated by membership function. The results showed that the germination rate, germination index, simplified vigor index, and drought resistance index of alfalfa seeds decreased with the aggravation of PEG stress. Under severe (20% PEG) stress, the germination rate, germination index, and drought resistance index of Longmu 801 were the highest, and significantly higher than those of other varieties (P<0.05). The germination rate, germination index, and drought resistance index of Sitel and Sardi were significantly lower than those of other varieties (P<0.05). The ranking of drought resistance of five alfalfa materials was: Longmu 801 > Caoyuan No.3 > WL168HQ > Sitel > Sardi. The study indicates that Longmu 801 and Caoyuan No.3 have strong drought resistance and were suitable for planting in arid and semi-arid areas. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To clarify the effect of different radial cooling intensities on the formation of central cracks in large round bloom continuous casting, it is necessary to study the solidification characteristics and dynamics of P91 high‐alloy steel at different cooling rates (CRs) to improve the central defects. In this article, the solidification characteristics of P91 high‐alloy steel at different CRs are studied by using the Thermo‐Calc software, high‐temperature laser confocal microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and optical microscopy. Meanwhile, the growth kinetics of δ‐Fe and γ‐Fe phases under different CRs are determined. The results show that the solidification path of P91 high‐alloy steel is L(L + δ‐Fe) → (L + γ‐Fe + δ‐Fe) → (δ‐Fe + γ‐Fe). The δ‐Fe and γ‐Fe phase precipitation process is divided into two stages. Stage I is the nucleation and rapid growth phase, in which a high undercooling is required. Stage II is the slow growth stage, where the undercooling decreases and remains constant. The initial growth linear velocities of the δ‐Fe phase are 0.51, 2.72, and 2.09 μm s−1 at CRs of 10, 50, and 100 °C min−1, respectively, while those of the γ‐Fe phase are 0.10, 1.42, and 1.41 μm s−1. Licorice, a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the genus Glycyrrhiza in the legume family, is a medicinal and edible plant. Licorice is rich in various bioactive components such as triterpenoid saponins, flavonoids, coumarins, polysaccharides, etc., endowing it with biological functions including anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. Moreover, the above-ground parts of licorice, with lush stems and leaves, have higher nutritional value compared to grasses in the Poaceae family, making it an excellent feed for livestock. The natural herbal additives can promote animal growth, enhance animal's immunity, and contribute to the further development of animal husbandry in China. The article reviews the active components of licorice, its biological functions, and its applications in animal production, aiming to provide a reference for the comprehensive development and utilization of licorice as animal feed. Mg-Zn-Y alloys with a Zn/Y=6:1(atomic ratio) were prepared by steel mould casting method. The effect of alloy composition on phase constituents as well as the morphology, volume fraction of Mg3Zn6Y quasi-crystalline phase (quasi-crystalline I-phase) in Mg-Zn-Y alloys was investigated by XRD, SEM, EDS, TEM and DSC. Results show that the phase constituents, the morphology, volume fraction and formation mechanism of Mg3Zn6Y quasi-crystalline I-phase in the Mg-Zn-Y alloys are closely related to alloys' compositions. The formation reaction of quasi-crystalline I-phase is transferred from fully peritectic reaction to the combination of peritectic and eutectic reactions, and to completely eutectic reaction with the decrease of Zn and Y content in the alloys. When the Y content is and more than 7%(atom fraction), the alloys are composed of (Mg,Zn)5Y, quasi-crystalline I-phase, Mg2Zn3 and Mg7Zn3 phases and they are distributed in a layered form in the alloy, and the quasi-crystalline I-phase takes the polygonal form by peritectic reaction during solidification. When the Y content is less than 7%, Mg phase precipitates in the alloys and their microstructure consists of (Mg,Zn)5Y, quasi-crystalline I-phase, Mg7Zn3 and Mg phases. When the Y content is between 5% and 7%, the quasi-crystalline I-phase is precipitated by peritectic and eutectic reaction, and eutectic reaction, which dominates the precipitation of quasi-crystalline I-phase. When the Y content is and less than 4%, the quasi-crystalline I-phase forms totally a (Mg+I-phase) lamellar eutectic microstructure by eutectic reaction. The volume fraction of quasi-crystalline I-phase is all greater than 27%,and in Mg30Zn60Y10 alloy is the maximum (about 77%) among the studied alloys.
