Cortical bone loss is intricately associated with ageing and coincides with iron accumulation. The precise role of ferroptosis, characterized by iron overload and lipid peroxidation, in senescent osteocytes remains elusive. We found that ferroptosis was a crucial mode of osteocyte death in cortical bone during ageing. Using a single‐cell transcriptome analysis, we identified activating transcription factor 3 (ATF3) as a critical driver of osteocyte ferroptosis. Elevated ATF3 expression in senescent osteocytes promotes iron uptake by upregulating transferrin receptor 1 while simultaneously inhibiting solute carrier family 7‐member 11‐mediated cystine import. This process leads to an iron overload and lipid peroxidation, culminating in ferroptosis. Importantly, ATF3 inhibition in aged mice effectively alleviated ferroptosis in the cortical bone and mitigated cortical bone mass loss. Taken together, our findings establish a pivotal role of ferroptosis in cortical bone loss in older adults, providing promising prevention and treatment strategies for osteoporosis and fractures. The complete mitochondrial genome of Saldoida armata (Heteroptera: Saldidae) is 16,049 bp in length, comprising 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), 2 ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs) and a control region. All the PCGs are initially encoded by ATN, TTG or GTG, and terminated coding with TAA or a single T. With the exception of trnS(AGN), all tRNAs exhibit a typical cloverleaf secondary structure. Phylogenetic analysis reveals the sister relationship of S. armata with other Saldidae members. The complete mitogenome of S. armata will provide useful genetic information for species identification, phylogenetic analysis and conservation of this species. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A new Cobalt(II)‐based metal–organic framework (MOF) with composition [Co2(μ2‐OH)(L)(bib)·H2O·2DMA]n(1) (H3L = 5‐[4′‐carboxylphenoxy] isophthalic acid, bib = 1, 4‐bis[1‐imidazolyl]benzene, DMA = dimethylacetamide) has been solvothermally synthesized and characterized. The MOF exhibits unprecedented topology with Schläfli symbol (43)2(4.66.1686) and display optical band gap of 3.68 eV and hence utilized as photocatalyst to photodegrade antibiotics such as metronidazole, tinidazole, nitrofurantoin, and dimetridazole. Among these antibiotics, it displays exceptional photocatalytic degradation of nitrofurantoin. Additional studies suggest that at pH 5 and 5 mg/L dosage of 1, 99.66% of nitrofurantoin decomposes at its 40 ppm concentration. Further, mechanistic pathway for light‐driven nitrofurantoin decomposition has been explored by utilizing experimental, namely, radical trapping experiments and computational techniques employing density of states and Hirshfeld surface analyses. BACKGROUND: Endometrial receptivity is crucial for the establishment of a healthy pregnancy outcome. Previous research on endometrial receptivity primarily examined endometrial thickness, endometrial echo types, and endometrial blood supply. OBJECTIVE: To explore the differences in the elastic modulus of the endometrium in women with various pregnancy outcomes by real-time shear wave elastography (SWE) and to investigate its application value in evaluation of endometrial receptivity. METHODS: A total of 205 pregnant women who were admitted at Wenzhou People's Hospital between January 2021 and December 2022 were selected. Three-dimensional transvaginal sonography and real-time shear wave elastography were performed in the proliferative phase and receptive phase of the endometrium, and the average elastic modulus of the endometrium in the two phases was obtained and compared. According to whether the pregnancy was successful or not, the participants were divided into the pregnancy group (n = 72) and non-pregnancy group (n = 133), and the differences in intimal thickness, 3D blood flow parameters, and average elastic modulus of intima were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: The average elastic modulus of the endometrium in the proliferative phase and receptive phase was (23.92 ± 2.31) kPa and (11.82 ± 2.24) kPa, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant P < 0.05. The average elastic modulus of the endometrium in the pregnancy group and non-pregnancy group was (9.97 ± 1.08) kPa and (12.82 ± 2.06) kPa, respectively, and the difference was statistically significant P < 0.05. The area under the curve of predicting pregnancy by the average elastic modulus of the endometrium in the receptive phase was 0.888 (0.841 ∼ 0.934), with corresponding P value < 0.05. The critical value was 11.15, with a corresponding sensitivity of 81.7% and specificity of 78.2%. CONCLUSION: Real-time shear wave elastography can quantitatively evaluate endometrial elasticity, indirectly reflect the endometrial phase, and provide a new diagnostic concept for evaluating endometrial receptivity and predicting pregnancy outcome in infertile patients. In this study, the complete mitochondrial genome of Anidiocerus bimaculatus was sequenced and annotated for the first time, which belongs to the subfamily Eurymelinae. The mitogenome of A. bimaculatus was 15,267 bp in length and contained 13 protein-coding genes (PCGs), 22 transfer RNA genes (tRNAs), two ribosomal RNA genes (rRNAs), and one non-coding control region. In this mitogenome, all the PCGs are initially encoded by ATT, ATA, ATG, or TTG, and terminated by TAA, or single T. The overall base composition of A. bimaculatus is 43.6% adenines, 36.0% thymines, 9.1% guanines, and 11.3% cytosines. ML phylogenetic analyses confirmed that Idiocerini forms a monophyletic clade and the newly sequenced A. bimaculatus clustered within the Idiocerini clade based on 13 protein-coding genes and two rRNA genes. Diopside[CaMg(SiO3)2] is a common mineral form of calcium magnesium silicate. Apart from dioside quarries, diopside also appears in skarn tailings. Diopside is a novel energy-saving raw material, mainly used in the ceramics industry. Glazed tiles prepared with diopside have the characteristics of low-temperature fast curing, which offers significant advantages to the building materials industry. The results reported in this paper show that the silicate and quartz composition in skarn lead and zinc tailings are likely to participate in the generation of ettringite and C-S-H gel in hydration reactions, respectively. Therefore, lead/zinc tailings can be used as concrete admixtures. As an important component of skarn tailings, the study of the ash reactivity of this type of tailings has great significance for comprehensive utilization in industry, but the relevant literature is incomplete. Paste samples were prepared with diopside, gypsum, and calcium hydroxide in this paper. The ash reactivity of fine-ground diopside was studied and hydration products were investigated using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimeter and nuclear magnetic resonance. The results show that the compressive strength of the paste prepared from fine-ground diopside can reach 9.83, 12.79, and 18.87 MPa at curing ages of 3, 7, and 28 d, suggesting that fine-ground diopside has good ash reactivity. The hydration products of cement prepared with fine-ground diopside are mainly accounted for by the C-S-H gel. Nuclear magnetic resonance results show that with the deepening of the hydration reaction, the percentage of silicon atoms in the Q2 structure state reduces and the Al/Si ratio in the C-S-H gel is lower than that in the original diopside material. With an increasing curing age, a small amount of gypsum and a large amount of Ca(OH)2 participate in the reaction. The amount of C-S-H gel hydration products increases gradually. The filling effect of the gypsum particles promotes the growth of the tructure's strength with an increasing curing time, although this effect does not alter the chemical reactions. These results will provide sufficient evidence for preliminary judgments of whether skarn tailings possess ash reactivity.
