As global demand for renewable energy and electric vehicles increases, the need for lithium has surged significantly. Extracting lithium from salt lake brine has become a cutting-edge technology in lithium resource production. In this study, two-dimensional (2D) GO/MXene composite membranes were fabricated using pressure-assisted filtration with a polyethyleneimine (PEI) coating, resulting in positively charged PEI-GO/MXene membranes. These innovative membranes, taking advantage of the synergistic effects of interlayer channel sieving and the Donnan effect, demonstrated excellent performance in Mg2+/Li+ separation with a mass ratio of 20 (Mg2+ rejection = 85.3%, Li+ rejection = 16.7%, SLi,Mg = 5.7) in simulated saline lake brine. Testing on actual salt lake brine in Tibet, China, confirmed the composite membrane's potential for effective Mg2+/Li+ separation. In the actual brine test with high concentration, Mg2+/Li+ after membrane separation is 2.2, which indicates that the membrane can significantly reduce the concentration of Mg2+ in the brine. Additionally, the PEI-GO/MXene composite membrane demonstrated strong anti-swelling properties and effective divalent ion rejection. Hg-based compounds show abundant structural diversity and distinguished properties. Herein, a new phase transition compound CsHg2I5 was reported. The high-temperature phase β-CsHg2I5 with rare [Hg2I5] dimers was synthesized by the flux method at 573 K, and it shows a reversible phase transition at a low temperature of ∼100 K to form the low-temperature phase α-CsHg2I5. The two phases crystallize in the same P21/c space group, with different crystal structures. β-CsHg2I5 is composed of rare [Hg2I5] dimers and [CsI11] polyhedral units, while α-CsHg2I5 is composed of [Hg4I11] and [CsI10] units. The experimental band gap of β-CsHg2I5 was found to be 2.58 eV. Owing to the presence of [Hg2I5]∞ pseudo-layers, β-CsHg2I5 exhibits large optical anisotropy with a calculated birefringence of 0.132@1064 nm. Meanwhile, β-CsHg2I5 is a congruent compound and the congruent point is ∼481 K. Theoretical calculations indicate that the rare [Hg2I5] dimer is a nonlinear active unit, which can be used as a new fundamental building block for the design of advanced nonlinear optical materials. Moreover, a CsI–HgI2 pseudo-binary diagram was drawn. Macroautophagy/autophagy is a catabolic process crucial for degrading cytosolic components and damaged organelles to maintain cellular homeostasis, enabling cells to survive in extreme extracellular environments. ENAH/MENA, a member of the Ena/VASP protein family, functions as a highly efficient actin elongation factor. In this study, our objective was to explore the role of ENAH in the autophagy process. Initially, we demonstrated that depleting ENAH in cancer cells inhibits autophagosome formation. Subsequently, we observed ENAH's colocalization with MAP1LC3/LC3 during tumor cell starvation, dependent on actin cytoskeleton polymerization and the interaction between ENAH and BECN1 (beclin 1). Additionally, mammalian ATG9A formed a ring-like structure around ENAH-LC3 puncta during starvation, relying on actin cytoskeleton polymerization. Furthermore, ENAH's EVH1 and EVH2 domains were found to be indispensable for its colocalization with LC3 and BECN1, while the PRD domain played a crucial role in the formation of the ATG9A ring. Finally, our study revealed ENAH-led actin comet tails in autophagosome trafficking. In conclusion, our findings provide initial insights into the regulatory role of the mammalian actin elongation factor ENAH in autophagy. The stem cells that maintain and repair the postnatal skeleton remain undefined. One model suggests that perisinusoidal mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) give rise to osteoblasts, chondrocytes, marrow stromal cells, and adipocytes, although the existence of these cells has not been proven through fate-mapping experiments. We demonstrate here that expression of the bone morphogenetic protein (BMP) antagonist gremlin 1 defines a population of osteochondroreticular (OCR) stem cells in the bone marrow. OCR stem cells self-renew and generate osteoblasts, chondrocytes, and reticular marrow stromal cells, but not adipocytes. OCR stem cells are concentrated within the metaphysis of long bones not in the perisinusoidal space and are needed for bone development, bone remodeling, and fracture repair. Grem1 expression also identifies intestinal reticular stem cells (iRSCs) that are cells of origin for the periepithelial intestinal mesenchymal sheath. Grem1 expression identifies distinct connective tissue stem cells in both the bone (OCR stem cells) and the intestine (iRSCs).

In order to improve the mechanical properties and durability of lightweight aggregate concrete in extreme environments, this study utilized Inner Mongolia pumice as the coarse aggregate to formulate pumice lightweight aggregate concrete (P-LWAC) with a silica powder content of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%. Under sulfate dry–wet cycling conditions, this study mainly conducted a mass loss rate test, compressive strength test, NMR test, and SEM test to investigate the improvement effect of silica powder content on the corrosion resistance performance of P-LWAC. In addition, using grey prediction theory, the relationship between pore characteristic parameters and compressive strength was elucidated, and a grey prediction model GM (1,3) was established to predict the compressive strength of P-LWAC after cycling. Research indicates that under sulfate corrosion conditions, as the cycle times and silica powder content increased, the corrosion resistance of P-LWAC showed a trend of first increasing and then decreasing. At 60 cycles, P-LWAC with a content of 6% exhibited the lowest mass loss rate and the highest relative dynamic elastic modulus, compressive strength, and corrosion resistance coefficient. From the perspective of data distribution, various durability indicators showed a clear mirror symmetry towards both sides with a silica powder content of 6% as the symmetrical center. The addition of silica fume reduced the porosity and permeability of P-LWAC, enhanced the saturation degree of bound fluid, and facilitated internal structural development from harmful pores towards less harmful and harmless pores, a feature most prominent at the 6% silica fume mixing ratio. In addition, a bound fluid saturation and pore size of 0.02~0.05 μm/% exerted the most significant influence on the compressive strength of P-LWAC subjected to 90 dry–wet cycles. Based on these two factors, grey prediction model GM (1,3) was established. The first alkaline-earth metal thioborate–thiophosphate Ba3(BS3)(PS4) was designed from Ba3(BO3)(PO4) by S–O substitution and fabricated experimentally. The [BS3] pseudo-layers formed in the structure contribute to the strong optical anisotropy and a large birefringence of ∼0.11 at 1064 nm. Graphene oxide (GO) two-dimensional (2D) membranes with unique layer structures and tunable layer spacing have special advantages and great potential in the field of water treatment. However, GO membranes face the issues of weak anti-swelling ability as well as poor permeability. We prepared GO/Ti3C2TX 2D composite membranes with 2D/2D structures by intercalating Ti3C2TX nanosheets with slightly smaller sizes into GO membranes. Ti3C2TX intercalation can effectively expand the layer spacing of GO, thereby substantially enhancing the flux of the composite membrane (2.82 to 6.35 L·m−2·h−1). Moreover, the GO/Ti3C2TX composite membrane exhibited a good Mg2+/Li+ separation capability. For the simulated brine, the separation factor of M2 was 3.81, and the salt solution flux was as high as 5.26 L·m−2·h−1. Meanwhile, the incorporation of Ti3C2TX nanosheets significantly improved the stability of GO/Ti3C2TX membranes in different pH environments.
