A flatband material is a system characterized by energy bands with zero dispersion, allowing for the compact localization of wavefunctions in real space. This compact localization significantly enhances inter-particle correlations and light-matter interactions, leading to notable advancements such as fractional Chern insulators in condensed matter systems and flat-band lasers in photonics. Previous flatband platforms, including twisted bilayer graphene and artificial kagome/Lieb lattices, typically focused on nondegenerate flatbands, lacking access to the high degeneracy that can facilitate the localization of orbital angular momentum (OAM). Here, we propose a general framework to construct highly degenerate flatbands from bound states in the continuum (BICs)--a concept originating from quantum theory but significantly developed in photonics and acoustics in recent years. The degeneracy of flatbands is determined by the number of BICs within each unit cell in a lattice. We experimentally validate this approach in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) acoustic crystals, demonstrating flatbands with 4-fold and 12-fold degeneracies, respectively. The high degeneracy provides sufficient internal degrees of freedom, enabling the selective excitation of localized OAM at any position in any direction. Autocorrelation measurement is theoretically demonstrated to characterize attosecond pulses by studying the two-photon double ionization (TPDI) process. An interferometric autocorrelation curve is presented in the change of TPDI probability with the time delay between two identical attosecond pulses, and its full width at half maximum (FWHM) $\tau_{e}$ has a relationship $\tau_{e}=1.77\tau+15$ with the FWHM $\tau$ of the attosecond pulse. The curve is also decoded to obtain the center frequency and FWHM of the attosecond pulse by fitting. In addition, the required peak intensity of the attosecond pulse is estimated to be on the order of $10^{16}\,\rm{Wcm^{-2}}$ in autocorrelation experiments. The interplay between disorder and topology leads to rich phenomena such as topological Anderson insulator phases, where disorder opens a topological bandgap and thereby enhances transport. With the recent advances in non-Hermitian topological physics, topological Anderson insulators have been generalized to systems with non-Hermitian disorder. However, achieving disorder-induced nontrivial point-gap topology, which is unique to non-Hermitian systems and is responsible for non-Hermitian skin effect, remains elusive. In this work, we experimentally realized non-Hermitian disorder-induced point-gap topology in a one-dimensional acoustic crystal. By controlling the gain factor of the amplifier in each basic unit, we obtained a series of disordered unidirectional hoppings with tunable strength. Using disordered acoustic crystals under open boundary conditions, we observed the emergence of non-Hermitian skin effect and the direction reversal of skin mode localization when the disorder strength is tuned. These results serve as hallmarks of point-gap topological phase transition induced by non-Hermitian disorder. We investigate the solar modulation effect with the long time cosmic ray proton and helium spectrum measured by AMS-02 on the time scale of a Bartels rotation (27 days) between May 2011 and May 2017. The time-span covers the negative heliospheric magnetic field polarity cycle, the polarity reversal period and the positive polarity cycle. The unprecedented accuracy of AMS-02 observation data provide a good opportunity to improve the understanding of the time dependent solar modulation effect. In this work, a two-dimensional solar modulation model is used to compute the propagation of cosmic rays in the heliosphere. Some important ingredients of the model which reflect the global heliospherical environment are taken from the observations. The propagation equation is numerically solved with the pubic Solarprop code. We find that the drift effect is suppressed during the high solar activity period but nearly recovered in the first half of 2017. The time-dependent rigidity dependence of the mean free path is critical to reproduce the observations between August 2012 and October 2015., Comment: 23 pages, 3 tables, 8 figures

Universality of the dynamic characteristic relationship between the characteristic time $t_c$ and the two-electron Coulomb interaction energy $\overline{V}_{12}$ of the ground state in the two-photon double ionization process is investigated through changing the parameters of the two-electron atomic system and the corresponding laser conditions. The numerical results show that the product $t_{c}\overline{V}_{12}$ keeps constant around 4.1 in the cases of changing the nucleus charge, the electron charge, the electron mass, and changing simultaneously the nucleus charge and the electron charge. These results demonstrate that the dynamic characteristic relationship in the two-photon double ionization process is universal. This work sheds more light on the the dynamic characteristic relationship in ultrafast processes and may find its application in the measurement of attosecond pulses.

We study the time-dependent modulation effect and derive the local interstellar spectra (LIS) for the cosmic ray (CR) proton, helium, boron and carbon. A two-dimensional modulation model including the variation of the interplanetary environment with time is adopted to describe modulation process. The propagation equation of CRs in the heliosphere is numerically solved by the package Solarprop. We derive the LIS by fitting the latest results of several experiments, including Voyager 1, PAMELA, BESS-POLARII and ACE, during low solar activity periods. We further study the modulation in the polarity reversal periods with the PAMELA proton data. We find that the rigidity dependence of the diffusion coefficient is critical to explain the modulation effect during reversal periods. Our results also indicate a power law relation between the diffusion coefficient and the magnitude of the heliospheric magnetic field (HMF) at the Earth., Comment: 23 pages,12 figures

The direct above-threshold ionization (ATI) of diatomic molecules in linearly-polarized infrared and extreme ultraviolet (IR+XUV) laser fields is investigated by the frequency-domain theory based on the nonperturbative quantum electrodynamics. The destructive interference fringes on the angle-resolved ATI spectra, which are closely related to the molecular structure, can be well fitted by a simple predictive formula for any alignment of the molecular axis. By comparing the direct ATI spectra for monochromatic and two-color laser fields, we found that the XUV laser field can both raise the ionization probability and the kinetic energy of the ionized electron, while the IR laser field can broaden the energy distribution of the ionized electron. Our results demonstrate that, by using IR+XUV two-color laser fields, the angle-resolved spectra of the direct ATI can image the structural information of molecules without considering the recollision process of the ionized electron., Comment: 7 figures

The use of x-ray imaging in medicine and other research is well known. Generally, the image quality is proportional to the total flux, but high photon energy could severely damage the specimen, so how to decrease the radiation dose while maintaining image quality is a fundamental problem. In "ghost" imaging, an image is retrieved from a known patterned illumination field and the total intensity transmitted through the object collected by a bucket detector. Using a table-top x-ray source we have realized ghost imaging of plane and natural objects with ultra-low radiation on the order of single photons. Compared with conventional x-ray imaging, a higher contrast-to-noise ratio is obtained for the same radiation dose. This new technique could greatly reduce radiation damage of biological specimens.

Many studies have shown that either the nearby astrophysical source or dark matter (DM) annihilation/decay is required to explain the origin of high energy cosmic ray (CR) $e^\pm$, which are measured by many experiments, such as PAMELA and AMS-02. Recently, the Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) collaboration has reported its first result of the total CR $e^\pm$ spectrum from $25 \,\mathrm{GeV}$ to $4.6 \,\mathrm{TeV}$ with high precision. In this work, we study the DM annihilation and pulsar interpretations of the DAMPE high energy $e^\pm$ spectrum. In the DM scenario, the leptonic annihilation channels to $\tau^+\tau^-$, $4\mu$, $4\tau$, and mixed charged lepton final states can well fit the DAMPE result, while the $\mu^+\mu^-$ channel has been excluded. In addition, we find that the mixed charged leptons channel would lead to a sharp drop at $\sim$ $\mathrm{TeV}$. However, these DM explanations are almost excluded by the observations of gamma-ray and CMB, unless some complicated DM models are introduced. In the pulsar scenario, we analyze 21 nearby known pulsars and assume that one of them is the primary source of high energy CR $e^\pm$.Considering the constraint from the Fermi-LAT observation of the $e^\pm$ anisotropy, we find that two pulsars are possible to explain the DAMPE data. Our results show that it is difficult to distinguish between the DM annihilation and single pulsar explanations of high energy $e^\pm$ with the current DAMPE result., Comment: 25 pages,6 figures

The AMS-02 has measured the cosmic ray electron (plus positron) spectrum up to ~TeV with an unprecedent precision. The spectrum can be well described by a power law without any obvious features above 10 GeV. The satellite instrument Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE), which was launched a year ago, will measure the electron spectrum up to 10 TeV with a high energy resolution. The cosmic electrons beyond TeV may be attributed to few local cosmic ray sources, such as supernova remnants. Therefore, spectral features, such as cutoff and bumps, can be expected at high energies. In this work we give a careful study on the perspective of the electron spectrum beyond TeV. We first examine our astrophysical source models on the latest leptonic data of AMS-02 to give a self-consistent picture. Then we focus on the discussion about the candidate sources which could be electron contributors above TeV. Depending on the properties of the local sources (especially on the nature of Vela), DAMPE may detect interesting features in the electron spectrum above TeV in the future., Comment: 43 pages, 15 figures

Growing evidence reveals universal hardening on various cosmic ray spectra, e.g. proton, positron, as well as antiproton fraction. Such universality may indicate they have a common origin. In this paper, we argue that these widespread excesses can be accounted for by a nearby supernova remnant surrounded by a giant molecular cloud. Secondary cosmic rays ($\rm p$, $\rm e^+$) are produced through the collisions between the primary cosmic ray nuclei from this supernova remnant and the molecular gas. Different from the background, which is produced by the ensemble of large amount of sources in the Milky Way, the local injected spectrum can be harder. The time-dependent transport of particles would make the propagated spectrum even harder. Under this scenario, the anomalies of both primary ($\rm p$, $\rm e^-$) and secondary ($\rm e^+$, $\rm \bar{p}/p$) cosmic rays can be properly interpreted. We further show that the TeV to sub-PeV anisotropy of proton is consistent with the observations if the local source is relatively young and lying at the anti-Galactic center direction., Comment: 10 pages, 6 figures

By using Bohmian trajectory method, we investigate the dynamic interference in diatomic molecular high-order harmonic generation progress. It is demonstrated that the main characteristics of the molecular harmonic spectrum can be well reproduced by only two Bohmain trajectories which are located respectively at the two ions. This is because these two localized trajectories can receive and store the whole collision information coming from all of the other recollision trajectories. Therefore, the amplitudes and frequencies of these two trajectories represent the intensity and frequency distribution of the harmonic generation. Moreover, the interference between these two trajectories shows a dip in the harmonic spectrum, which indicates the molecular structure information. ?, Comment: This work has been submitted to PRA on 12 July, 2013
