This work aims to present the results of a research study on the relations between work ethic, organizational commitment and job burnout. The authors investigated a sample of employees representing different industries and companies, e.g., lawyers, IT specialists, medical doctors, clerks, teachers and railwaymen (N = 335).The research study was based on theiJob Demands-Resources/imodel. The work ethic measured by the Polish adaptation of theiMultidimensional Work Ethic Profile/iconsisted of 8 factors: the value of hard work, work as a central value of life, unwillingness to waste time, aversion to free time, delayed gratification, self-reliance, morality, and work as a moral duty. The organizational commitment measured by theiOrganizational Commitment Scale/iconsisted of 3 components: affective commitment, normative commitment and continuance commitment. To measure job burnout, the Polish adaptation of theiLink Burnout Questionnaire/iwas used, which is composed of 4 dimensions of burnout: psycho-physical exhaustion, relationship deterioration, the sense of professional failure, and disillusion.The study shows that work ethic dimensions and organizational commitment are negatively correlated with job burnout. Significant predictors which can reduce job burnout include work as a moral duty, the value of hard work, work as a central value of life, aversion to free time and morality as dimensions of work ethic and affective commitment.Some dimensions of work ethic and organizational commitment constitute job resources and can decrease job burnout. Wypalenie oceniono za pomocąiKwestionariusza wypalenia zawodowego/i(polska adaptacjaiLink Burnout Questionnaire/i), który mierzy 4 wymiary wypalenia: wyczerpanie psychofizyczne, brak zaangażowania w relacje z klientami, poczucie braku skuteczności zawodowej oraz rozczarowanie.Wyniki badań pokazały, że wymiary etyki pracy oraz przywiązania do organizacji korelują negatywnie z wymiarami wypalenia. Istotnymi predyktorami obniżającymi wypalenie w ramach etyki pracy okazały się: traktowanie pracy jako wartości moralnej, wysokie wartościowanie ciężkiej pracy, traktowanie pracy jako wartości centralnej w życiu, niechęć do czasu wolnego i gotowość do uczciwego postępowania oraz przywiązanie afektywne.Wybrane wymiary etyki pracy i przywiązania do organizacji pełnią rolę zasobów osobistych, obniżających poziom wypalenia zawodowego. Megasporocyte formation in Pisum sativum L. takes place at the stages of bud development, when the vexillum surpasses the lower androecium whorl slightly at the beginning, and markedly in further stages. Under the epidermis of an ovule, a multicellular archesporium is formed. Mitotic division of these cells gives rise to a two-layered parietal tissue and to a group of megaspore mother cells (MMCs). The tetrad is formed from one megasporocyte. In the bud development of Pisum sativum the carpel walls accrete to each other relatively early.

Tyroglobulin and thyroid peroxidase antibodies have been estimated in patients with thyroid autoimmune diseases. In a group of 109 patients with Hashimoto's thyroidities 85.53% and 78.89% were positive for Tyroglobulin antibodies and anti-TPO antibodies respectively. The anti-Tg antibodies has not been detected in 14.67% and anti-TPO in 21.1% patients. Both antibodies have not been detected in 1.83% of patients. In a group of 79 patients with Graves' disease 62.02 and 91.13% were positive for anti-Tg and anti-TPO antibodies respectively. The anti-Tg antibodies has not been detected in 37.97% and anti-TPO in 8.66% patients. Both antibodies have not been detected in one patients with exophtalmos (1.26%). Our results indicate that anti-tyroglobulin antibodies should be estimated only in patients suspected for thyroid autoimmune disease and negative for thyroid peroxidase antibodies.

We searched for the presence of ganglioside reactive antibodies in sera of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC). Sera were screened by ELISA with plates coated with GM3(NeuAc), GM3(NeuGc), GM2, GM1, FucGM1, GD3, GD1a or GD1b gangliosides. Ganglioside reactive antibodies were detected more frequently in sera of patients with DTC than in sera of healthy persons, in keeping with the possibility of autoimmunization during carcinogenesis. Antibodies of IgM and IgG classes reactive with FucGM1 occurred most often. However, the infrequent occurrence of ganglioside reactive antibodies, their low titer and lack of correlation between their presence and clinical condition of the patients indicate that determination of these antibodies has no diagnostic value in DTC.

A synthesis and an in vitro evaluation of side chain-unsaturated analogs 3 and 4 of 24a,24b-dihomo-1,25-dihydroxycholecalciferol (1) are described. Novel C23a,24-vitamin D synthons (sulfone 10 and aldehyde 11) were used for the synthesis of analog 4 and for the efficient preparation of the parent compound 1. The synthetic approach developed allows the use of easily available side chain fragments, such as oxirane 12 or Witting reagent 15 for the preparation of compound 1 and analog 4, respectively. Introduction of a 4aE double bond results in a selective, 1000-fold increase in the binding affinity of analog 4 for the vitamin D receptor, compared to the affinity of 1, whereas the affinity of 4 for the vitamin D-binding protein and the activity in stimulating the differentiation of human promyelocytic leukemia HL-60 cells remained largely unchanged.

The title compound is known and used as an oxidizing agent. The most useful application of it is the oxidation of the carban-ions obtained from esters, lactones, ketones, nitriles, aldehydes, sulphones and amides in order to obtain the hydroxy derivatives. The known method of synthesis of MoOPH involves the oxidation of MOO3 obtain to MOO5 with 30% hydrogen peroxide. We tried to MOO5 according to procedure described by Vedejs and unfortunately about 50% of the unreacted MOO3 had t o be filtered off from the MOO5 solution after 3.5 h. stirring at 40°C, so the yield of MOO5 HMPTH 0 was about 30%. We needed a bigger amount of title reagent and we started from molybdic acid monohydrate instead of MOO3 and 30% hydrogen peroxide. The reaction appeared slightly exotherrnic and took place in half an hour at 4O°c. All molybdic acid was dissoled and gave a yellow clear solution of Moo5.
