PADUA, RENAL, ABC and MAP nephrometry scores were determined from preoperative axial images. Unadjusted and adjusted associations between overall scores, individual components, surgical approach, complications and oncological outcomes were determined using univariate and multivariate logistic regressions.Results: A total of 189 partial nephrectomies were performed in 181 patients, via an open or a laparoscopic approach. Among scoring systems, only the MAP classification, which assesses adherent perinephric fat, was associated with severe surgical complications as well as with operative time (p< 0.05). Among all components of the PADUA and RENAL scores, only proximity of the tumor to the collecting system was associated with overall surgical complication rates, while the diameter of the tumor influenced the operative time (p< 0.05). The ABC score was not relevant. Male gender, antiplatelet therapy, and a laparoscopic approach were associated with higher overall surgical complication rates (p< 0.05). The number of oncologic recurrences during follow-up was too low to run statistical analyses.Conclusion: Nephrometry scores could be simplified to predict surgical complications after partial nephrectomy. In this framework, adherent perinephric fat seemed to be strongly associated with an increased risk of surgical complications.Keywords: partial nephrectomy, scoring systems, perinephric fat, laparoscopy, complications

Abstract Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) represents a category of lymphoid neoplasms with unique features, notably the usual scarcity of tumour cells in involved tissues. The most common subtype of classical HL, nodular sclerosis HL, characteristically comprises abundant fibrous tissue stroma. Little information is available about the protein composition of the stromal environment from HL. Moreover, the identification of valid protein targets, specifically and abundantly expressed in HL, would be of utmost importance for targeted therapies and imaging, yet the biomarkers must necessarily be accessible from the bloodstream. To characterize HL stroma and to identify potentially accessible proteins, we used a chemical proteomic approach, consisting in the labelling of accessible proteins and their subsequent purification and identification by mass spectrometry. We performed an analysis of potentially accessible proteins in lymph node biopsies from HL and reactive lymphoid tissues, and in total, more than 1400 proteins were identified in 7 samples. We have identified several extracellular matrix proteins overexpressed in HL, such as versican, fibulin-1, periostin, and other proteins such as S100-A8. These proteins were validated by immunohistochemistry on a larger series of biopsy samples, and bear the potential to become targets for antibody-based anti-cancer therapies.

Objective: The objective of this study was to characterize exclusive costal lesions detected by 68 Gallium-labelled prostate-specific membrane antigen ([ 68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11) PET/computed tomography (CT) at initial staging or biochemical recurrence (BCR) in prostate cancer (PCa) patients, and to identify clinical and/or PET/CT criteria associated with benign and malignant lesions., Methods: We retrospectively identified 54 patients with PCa who underwent [ 68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT for initial staging ( N  = 39) or BCR ( N  = 15) and whose reports described rib lesions, at the exclusion of any other lesions, whether doubtful, suspicious, or established. Posttherapy prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels were used to determine whether those lesions were benign or malignant. Each patient's prostate-specific membrane antigen PET/CT report was classified as true positive, true negative, false positive, or false negative based on the posttherapy PSA level. We then assessed whether any clinical and/or PET/CT criteria could help differentiate benign from malignant lesions, and if any criteria were misleading., Results: Among the 54 patients, 46 (85.2%) had 64 benign costal lesions, and eight (14.8%) had 10 malignant lesions. PET/CT reports indicated rib lesions as benign/equivocal in 38/54 (55.6%) patients and malignant in 16/54 (29.6%). Benign features on CT were the only parameter significantly associated with the final diagnosis. Factors such as patient age, maximum standardized uptake value of lesions, lesion dispersion, and malignant features described on CT were found to be misleading when deciding the malignant or benign status., Conclusion: Most exclusive costal lesions detected by [ 68 Ga]Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT are benign. Apart from specific benign CT features, no clinical or PET/CT criteria reliably differentiate benign from malignant costal lesions., (Copyright © 2024 The Author(s). Introduction: Clean Intermittent Catheterization (CIC) is considered as a gold standard of treatment for bladder emptying disorders. A large amount of literature on CIC for patients suffering from neurological disorders is available, but there is a lack of research specifically concerning multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. Our primary outcome was to determine the characteristics of our population (sex, EDSS and age when CIC was introduced). Our secondary outcomes were to determine adherence of CIC., Method: As part of a multicenter, observational, retro-prospective study, data was collected from neuro-urologist consultation reports, and extracted from bladder diaries between 01/01/2000 and 31/03/24. MS patients, over 18 years, with the indication of CIC were included., Results: 195 patients (72.3% women) were included, with a mean age of 49 years old. The median of follow-up was 9 years. Median EDSS at the start of the study was 5.5. There was an adherence rate of 65.1%. Urinary leakage was present in 74.2% of patients prior to CIC and 31.6% following CIC., Conclusion: Catheterization is mainly offered to patients with an EDSS between 0 and 7. Rate of adhesion is encouraging, with most patients still continuing to use CIC by the end of follow-up. During the follow-up, we observed a reduced leakage rate but CIC alone can not explain this improvement. Pelvic organ prolapse is a frequent condition among women. The lack of information and knowledge about this pathology is a major obstacle in its management. However, there are multiple therapeutic options, both conservative and surgical, which have proven their symptomatic and clinical effectiveness.

Urine cytology is a long-used technique for the detection of high grade neoplastic urothelial lesions. Since 2016, «The Paris System» classification has revolutionized this field by introducing a standardized terminology widely adopted by cytopathologists and urologists. In this article, we explain this classification and discuss its impact on the clinical management of patients with urothelial lesions, as well as its role in the secondary prevention of these lesions.
