Routine quantitative outcome measures are commonly used within mental health services to provide an overview of change made by service users from the beginning to end of therapy. Whilst this is useful, these measures do not provide insight into why any changes may, or may not, have occurred. This article explores the results of a qualitative service evaluation conducted in an NHS community mental health team (CMHT). The questionnaire asked service users about aspects of therapy that they found helpful or unhelpful. Crucially, the questionnaire gave voice to service users who did not complete therapy and thus did not complete the final quantitative outcome measure. Analysis of data using a thematic analysis approach identified several themes, 1) whether it was the right time to access therapy, 2) challenges in maintaining progress outside of therapy, 3) meeting service user expectations of therapy, 4) whether service users can be vulnerable, 5) impact of therapy on the service users understanding of themselves and their emotions, and 6) flexibility within the service structure. Overall, service users found therapy to be challenging, yet the support and flexibility offered by their therapist was valued. Efforts to enhance carbon sequestration, including afforestation and reforestation, are critical strategies to meet the New York State (NYS) climate goals. In NYS, converting underutilized lands to mature forests can mitigate 4.9 million metric tons of CO2 annually, but 97% of suitable lands are privately owned. These mitigation figures do not consider landowner willingness to grow mature forest. Drawing on a survey of 979 NYS landowners, we explored interest in growing mature forest, potential barriers, and how they can be mitigated. Survey results indicate landowners seem reasonably interested (about one-third were "very interested") in converting at least some of their land to mature forest for carbon sequestration. Respondents were most willing to convert land in young forest and shrubland and least willing to convert fallow fields, grassland, and agricultural land. Key barriers are related to inadequate labor and financial resources. Incentives focused on finances most increase willingness but only modestly so. Study Implications: Land availability for carbon sequestration can only be realistically understood if we consider private landowner willingness to grow forests. We observed relatively strong enthusiasm for converting young forest and shrubland. Land conversion proponents could tailor management and communication strategies to owners of these land types. Conversion is tied to overcoming negative attitudes about the potential conflict between current management and managing for carbon sequestration and providing resources for conversion. Landowner willingness was less when the agricultural footprint was greater. This article explores the process of developing online tutorials for a specified student group, in this case Second-Year Nursing students in University College Dublin. The product was commissioned by the Health Sciences Library and the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery, and Health Systems. It was developed as a "Capstone Project" for part fulfillment of the MLIS in UCD. We focused our research on three areas of scholarship to assist in the development of our product, namely Information Behavior, Learning Technologies, and Learning Science and Design. Flemings VARK model was used to inform the team of the four different learning styles (visual, auditory, reading, and kinesthetic) and to match the presentation style to these. An initial difficulty in the assessment phase was one of access to a large group of students, as the students were on clinical placements. We created personas and a profile of nursing students to try and compensate for this. The tutorial was developed to cater for this specific group of students and later to act as a valuable support to the Library, which is under severe pressure in terms of staff availability to support student learning. The product is relatively straightforward to produce (and maintain) and is something the Library will be able to develop and add to in future years.

The need for enables in driving successful interfirm cooperation among small manufacturing companies is investigated. Results showed that motives of networks include improving technology transfer and innovation. The differences between networking activities formed out of the participating companies' own volition and those that are led by brokers are also examined.

The current trend in the manufacturing industry is for large companies to focus on core competencies and to outsource more design and manufacture. Combined with the rationalization of the supplier base, this has meant that companies are increasingly dependent on key suppliers to continue providing competitive subsystems and subassemblies which incorporate advanced product and process technology. Suppliers in turn are reliant on their customers for information for innovation. This paper discusses the potential to enhance the technological capability of the supply network through supplier development (SD) schemes. Case studies of SD in the U.K. aerospace and defense sectors are presented in order to establish whether SD is enhancing technological capability in small companies in the U.K. supply base. The formal processes of SD are found to have little direct impact on supplier technological capability, but instead have an important indirect effect--primarily through strengthening relevant communication channels. There remains an opportunity for large companies to utilize SD to promote better technology management practices. We analyze the impact of university–industry relationships on public research. Our inductive study of university–industry collaboration in engineering suggests that basic projects are more likely to yield academically valuable knowledge than applied projects. However, applied projects show higher degrees of partner interdependence and therefore enable exploratory learning by academics, leading to new ideas and projects. This result holds especially for research-oriented academics working in the “sciences of the artificial” and engaging in multiple relationships with industry. Our learning-centred interpretation qualifies the notion of entrepreneurial science as a driver of applied university–industry collaboration. The polyester-rayon blend wipes were evaluated to determine the efficiency of extraction and recovery of powdered Bacillus atrophaeus spores from stainless steel and painted wallboard surfaces. The recovery efficiency and limits of detection observed in the method could provide useful guidance for the planning of incident response environment sampling following the release of a biological agent such as Bacillus anthracis.
