The classification of bird species is of significant importance in the field of ornithology, as it plays an important role in assessing and monitoring environmental dynamics, including habitat modifications, migratory behaviors, levels of pollution, and disease occurrences. Traditional methods of bird classification, such as visual identification, were time-intensive and required a high level of expertise. However, audio-based bird species classification is a promising approach that can be used to automate bird species identification. This study aims to establish an audio-based bird species classification system for 264 Eastern African bird species employing modified deep transfer learning. In particular, the pre-trained EfficientNet technique was utilized for the investigation. The study adapts the fine-tune model to learn the pertinent patterns from mel spectrogram images specific to this bird species classification task. The fine-tuned EfficientNet model combined with a type of Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) namely Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and Long short-term memory (LSTM). RNNs are employed to capture the temporal dependencies in audio signals, thereby enhancing bird species classification accuracy. The dataset utilized in this work contains nearly 17,000 bird sound recordings across a diverse range of species. The experiment was conducted with several combinations of EfficientNet and RNNs, and EfficientNet-B7 with GRU surpasses other experimental models with an accuracy of 84.03% and a macro-average precision score of 0.8342. A continuous energy supply to the load side is required by modern power systems. This calls for a sound understanding of how to forecast load demand in the present and the future with the least degree of inaccuracy. Typically, a sequential method with two steps—forecasting and optimization—is used to derive judgments from data. For achieving this goal, optimized power flow is focused in this paper through load forecasting, mode selection, and optimization of power forecasting. Firstly, load forecasting is implemented using time series, and economic and weather-related information for the different consumer's load. Then mode selection is implemented using Hidden Markov Model that determines the requested load for grid-connected or RES mode. When composite RES is developed, the percentage of serviced load rises as more renewable energy sources are added. Following the implementation of the consumer load and mode selection, optimization is used to improve the power flow. The empirical findings show enhanced prescriptive performance when compared to answers found in single- and multi-household contexts. Diabetes is a chronic disease caused by a persistently high blood sugar level, causing other chronic diseases, including cardiovascular, kidney, eye, and nerve damage. Prompt detection plays a vital role in reducing the risk and severity associated with diabetes, and identifying key risk factors can help individuals become more mindful of their lifestyles. In this study, we conducted a questionnaire-based survey utilizing standard diabetes risk variables to examine the prevalence of diabetes in Bangladesh. To enable prompt detection of diabetes, we compared different machine learning techniques and proposed an ensemble-based machine learning framework that incorporated algorithms such as decision tree, random forest, and extreme gradient boost algorithms. In order to address class imbalance within the dataset, we initially applied the synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) and random oversampling (ROS) techniques. We evaluated the performance of various classifiers, including decision tree (DT), logistic regression (LR), support vector machine (SVM), gradient boost (GB), extreme gradient boost (XGBoost), random forest (RF), and ensemble technique (ET), on our diabetes datasets. Our experimental results showed that the ET outperformed other classifiers; to further enhance its effectiveness, we fine-tuned and evaluated the hyperparameters of the ET. Using statistical and machine learning techniques, we also ranked features and identified that age, extreme thirst, and diabetes in the family are significant features that prove instrumental in the detection of diabetes patients.
