If intentional, college students in campus jobs can develop professional skills valued in the post-college workforce. However, many students are not likely to realize the potential of their experience without advisement or instruction that teaches them how to reflect on experience and articulate its value, usually in the form of a resume or in an interview. This study examines the value of three workshops to help students reflect on their development of National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career readiness competencies as a result of their library work experience. Survey and focus group data suggest students' confidence in their ability to articulate and apply their newly-developed skills increases when provided with a vocabulary of professional competencies and a reflective framework for evaluating their experience. Much has been written about the demographic make-up of librarianship, which remains overwhelmingly white and female, but little has been discussed about the socioeconomic background of folks entering the field. In this column, I explore some of the ways that coming from a financially disadvantaged background can impact both entering the profession and the experience of working within it. Military veterans are employed in a variety of roles in libraries, from library security to library administration. This article explores how a military background impacts a library employee's experience working in libraries, including the barriers that veterans encounter as well as the strengths that veterans bring to the library community. This article provides concrete, actionable suggestions that library administrators can implement in order to help their libraries become more veteran friendly, not only for patrons, but also for employees. Using interpretative phenomenological analysis, this study explored how five public librarians in the United States experience and understand their library work with children and families experiencing homelessness. The participants described their deep commitment to providing services for families in homeless situations but also shared that they experience conflicting emotions about this work and feel unsupported by the profession and their individual libraries and coworkers. Even with their dedication and commitment, many of the participants expressed self-censoring judgments about their peers, the families they work with, and shelter staff members. This study situates the participants' experiences within a context of ambivalence around homelessness in library services and cultural narratives that render the homelessness of children and families invisible. Quantitative studies have explored the work abilities of persons with specific vestibular-related symptoms, but there seems to be a dearth of research that has explored the work experience of persons-with- vestibular- disorders, so this qualitative study explored this phenomenon. Audio-recorded semi-structured interviews were conducted online. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the transcripts. Together, two researchers coded the transcripts and deductively identified the main themes on the main components of the expanded International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health scheme, and thereafter generated the sub-themes inductively. Fourteen people with various vestibular disorders and occupations in South Africa participated in the study. Participants reported having difficulty performing work-related tasks requiring attention to detail and ambulation, and work environmental conditions triggered their vestibular-related symptoms. Some participants received time off from work and support from their supervisors and colleagues, while others did not. Seeking mental services allowed them to overcome their negative feelings, medication suppressed their vestibular-related symptoms, and vestibular rehabilitation allowed them to focus on their work. Vestibular-related symptoms may hinder persons- with- vestibular- disorders from completing and participating in work-related activities, which may result in them experiencing negative feelings. The nature of some of the work-related tasks that they need to complete and experiencing negative feelings may trigger their vestibular-related symptoms. Together, the work-related activity limitations, participation restrictions, and environmental and personal factors may cause persons- with- vestibular- disorders to experience disability in their workplaces. To prevent this potential disability, persons with vestibular disorders should be supported by and receive workplace accommodations. General practitioners (GPs) played a crucial role in limiting the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, and many GPs experienced they did not have the prerequisites to provide adequate care. However, GPs developed approaches that helped them to provide care to patients through various job crafting strategies. The aim of this study is to identify how job crafting strategies were deployed by GPs at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden and the significance of the strategies on their work situation. A qualitative design with semi-structured interviews. The data was analysed using qualitative content analysis with job crafting as the conceptual framework for the analysis process. Primary healthcare in five healthcare regions in Sweden. Fourteen GPs participated in individual interviews. In their endeavours to organise and provide care, GPs shaped the task, relational and cognitive boundaries of their work. GPs felt proud about finding new ways of working when given room to manoeuvre. Intensified collaboration between healthcare professionals made GPs more confident in their clinical work. GPs expressed that they consequently felt stronger in their professional role through what they accomplished in the organisation of care. The results suggest that the job crafting strategies GPs used were meaningful to them in clinical practice. Knowledge about how GPs' job crafting strategies were deployed might be useful for healthcare organisations in preparing for future health crises. Taking advantage of GPs' experiences and strategies is considered important for promoting sustainable working conditions for GPs in the future. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden, general practitioners took immediate action to re-organise their day-to-day work tasks. To manage professional uncertainty about how to provide the best possible care, general practitioners sought support from other healthcare peers. Stigma is widely acknowledged as an issue that causes significant harm to sex workers, forcing people to conceal their experiences. It has also been acknowledged that the stigma relating to sex work can impact researchers, who may experience stigma by association. However, researchers can also have personal experience of sex work themselves, which means they are impacted directly by stigma on several levels and must negotiate difficult decisions relating to disclosure and risk. In this paper, I recount the power that stigma has had over me, discussing the emotional challenges that this has created for me as a researcher and in my everyday life. Furthermore, I reflect on the complications of my positionality and argue that while lived experience is incredibly valuable, as researchers it is also important to be aware of the limitations of our own experiences. This descriptive study was carried out to investigate the relationship between the attitudes of nurses working at a university hospital towards older people and their compassion levels. The sample of the study comprised 432 nurses working at a university hospital. The data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the University of California at Los Angeles Geriatrics Attitudes Scale, and the Compassion Scale. In the analysis of the data, frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean values, tests for the significance of the difference between two mean values, the Kruskal-Wallis test, and Pearson's correlation test were used. The attitudes of the participants towards older adults were positive (47.18 ± 6.40), and their compassion levels were high (4.08 ± 0.41). There was a significant positive correlation between the participants' mean scores on the University of California at Los Angeles Geriatrics Attitudes Scale and the Compassion Scale (r = 0.313). The participants had positive attitudes towards elderly individuals and high compassion levels. As the participants' compassion levels increased, so did their mean University of California at Los Angeles Geriatrics Attitudes Scale scores. Gender, length of service, working unit, status of living with an older person, and compassion were identified as predictors of University of California at Los Angeles Geriatrics Attitudes Scale scores. The use of methods likely to increase compassion in nurses' education and professional life may increase their perception of attitudes towards older age and thus ensure that older people receive quality healthcare. During the software development process, numerous bugs are reported daily in the software bug repositories. Bug triage assigned these bugs to the most relevant and expert developer for resolution. Moreover, assigning bugs to an incompetent or an over‐engaged developer causes repeated reassignment to other developers until it is resolved. This problem can be solved by devising a triage process that assigns bugs to not only expert developers but also to those who are either under‐engaged or reasonably engaged but are not over‐engaged in work. This paper has designed and implemented work engagement sensitive bug triage that resolves the issue of assigning bugs to developers considering their due work engagement, expertise as well as the current state of activity. For this purpose, a developer profile is built by using metrics to generate three types of scores: technical skill, work engagement and work experience. Metadata features like developer‐name, email, developer‐work‐experience in bug resolution, last and present‐work‐activity, timestamp, component and priority are used for it. A multi‐criteria‐based Henry–Garret technique is used to generate a single ranked list of developers from three ranked lists. The performance of the proposed approach is evaluated on four large OOS projects: Mozilla, Eclipse, Netbeans, and Open Office covering 895,439 bug reports accumulated for 33 years of development. The overall system accuracy of the proposed triage using all four datasets is 91.96 ± 0.05% which is 5.87% better than previously published work. The proposed method is achieved up to 90.30 ± 0.05 and 97.1 ± 0.05 MRR and accuracy of reassignment respectively that indicates how significantly it re‐assigns the bug to the relevant developers. Although mental effort is a frequently used term, it is poorly defined and understood. Consequently, its usage is frequently loose and potentially misleading. In neuroscience research, the term is used to mean both the cognitive work that is done to meet task demands and the subjective experience of performing that work. We argue that conflating these two meanings hampers progress in understanding cognitive impairments in neuropsychiatric conditions because cognitive work and the subjective experience of it have distinct underlying mechanisms. We suggest that the most coherent and clinically useful perspective on mental effort is that it is a subjective experience. This makes a clear distinction between cognitive impairments that arise from changes in the cognitive apparatus, as in dementia and brain injury, and those that arise from subjective difficulties in carrying out the cognitive work, as in attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, depression, and other motivational disorders. We review recent advances in neuroscience research that suggests that the experience of effort has emerged to control task switches so as to minimize costs relative to benefits. We consider how these advances can contribute to our understanding of the experience of increased effort perception in clinical populations. This more specific framing of mental effort will offer a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of cognitive impairments in differing clinical groups and will ultimately facilitate better therapeutic interventions. As advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) enter practice, support is crucial for success. Formal mentorship has been shown to improve employee turnover, job satisfaction, and clinical competence. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, an APRN team specializing in palliative care experienced an unprecedented rate of staff turnover. As a result, the team decided to create a formal mentorship program to support newly hired colleagues and assist their transition to practice. A subcommittee of APRNs within the palliative care practice met to establish a mentorship practice framework, expectations for the program, and a methodology for matching mentors and mentees. The mentorship program was implemented with two cohorts comprising a total of five mentors and six mentees. It was evaluated by participants using surveys asking open-ended, qualitative questions. Both mentors and mentees reported finding the program valuable. Mentees felt the program helped their transition to practice, created a forum for peer support, and improved their clinical competence. Mentors said the program furthered their own professional development, advanced their clinical growth, and fostered a connection to colleagues. Employee engagement and alignment improved, and staff turnover decreased. Further work is needed to improve on the program framework and analyze the outcomes of mentorship. Death and dying are woven throughout the work of home care aides, and yet the care they provide at the end of life (EOL) remains poorly understood. This is due in part to the multiple circumstances under which aides provide EOL care. In this paper, we elucidate the EOL care experiences of aides working in home care agencies in New York City. We conducted in-depth interviews with 29 home care aides, and we analyzed these data using inductive, team-based methods. Our findings show that aides may not be aware of or accept a client's EOL status, and they may avoid EOL care. These conditions shape EOL care, and we detail the committed forms of care aides provide when they are aware and accepting. We recommend improved training, support systems, and policy change to enhance aides' contributions to EOL care, while protecting aides' health and well-being. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aim: To explore factors that influence the impact of nurse practitioners' clinical autonomy with a self‐determining perspective. Background: Worldwide, there is a significant demand for healthcare professionals such as the nurse practitioner in meeting some healthcare needs across patients' lifespans. Factors influencing nurse practitioners clinical autonomy can impact the full utilisation of the role in practice. Introduction: Limited evidence exists that describes or researches nurse practitioner clinical autonomy. Instead, there is a focus in the literature on strategic debates, role confusion and nurse practitioners reporting the straddling between nursing, allied heath professionals and medicine in the provision of healthcare services. Design: A cross‐sectional study design was used in a purposive sample in a national sample of nurse practitioners in Ireland across a full range of healthcare settings. Additionally, the survey included open comments sections to capture qualitative comments by the nurse practitioners themselves. Methods: Self‐determination theory is rooted in an organismic dialectical stance. This study used a convenience sample of n = 148 from a total sample of n = 448 (33%) of the population. The Dempster Practice Behavioural Scale and an initially validated advanced nursing practice clinical autonomy scale were used. Open comments were analysed by thematic analysis. STROBE Standards guidelines for cross‐sectional studies were followed, and COREQ guidelines were followed for writing qualitative research. Results: The study findings demonstrated that the more clinical experience the nurse practitioner had, the higher their levels of clinical autonomy. The previous length of nursing experience did not impact nurse practitioner clinical autonomy levels. However, average experience of nurse practitioner' in this study was 3–10 years. No significant differences existed between the reported gender, nurse practitioners' clinical autonomy and decision‐making. 1:40 female and 1:9 male nurse practitioners undertook a doctorate or PhD‐level education. No advanced nurse practitioner identified as non‐binary. Gender and organisational culture considerations can influence nurse practitioners clinical autonomy. Implications for nursing and health policy: This study highlights intrinsic motivators that support nurse practitioners in providing innovative healthcare: competence, relatedness and clinical autonomy. Countries credentialing, regulations professional standards and healthcare policy positively influence nurse practitioner clinical autonomy. Nurse practitioners' clinical autonomy is championed when health policy and organisational stakeholders intrinsically collaborate. A disconnect between health policy organisational culture extrinsically influences lower levels of nurse practitioners' clinical autonomy. Conclusion: The findings underline the positive impact of nurse practitioner clinical autonomy. A recommendation of this study is to continue to measure impact of clinical autonomy and develop nurse practitioners' self‐determination strategies around the role and integrity of their levels of intrinsic clinical autonomy. Training structure in neuroradiology can be variable, nationally and internationally. Globally, there is a trend towards standardised training pathways, curricula and targeted competencies. Currently, there is limited understanding of the structure of neuroradiology training in the UK. This survey aims to: [1] identify different contemporary models of neuroradiology training in the UK, [2] compare UK trainees' commitments against national and international standards, and [3] understand whether career expectations match the predicted future demands of neuroradiologists. A survey was developed after consultation with BSNR and UKNG representatives. The eligibility criteria included current neuroradiology trainees in the UK with at least 3 months of experience or had recently completed neuroradiology training, but less than 18 months had elapsed since achieving a certificate of completion of training. A total of 50 trainees responded to the survey; 26 (52%) diagnostic neuroradiologists (DNRs) and 24 (48%) interventional neuroradiologists (INRs) with an overall mean age of 33 years. The mean duration of training at the time of survey was 18 months. The survey details trainee demographics, experience at work, research and teaching commitments and future goals. Most respondents are satisfied with their training and 90% want to remain in the UK after completion of training. There is room for improvement but the future of training and working in neuroradiology seems promising internationally, with ever-evolving techniques and developments. This qualitative study examines current IPV service providers' perspectives on service delivery methods that best reach and serve IPV survivors from culturally diverse communities. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 11 service providers, and transcripts were analyzed for themes related to service providers' experiences. Five themes emerged from the data that suggest best practices for reaching and serving survivors from culturally diverse backgrounds, including understanding survivors' backgrounds, promoting trust and inclusivity, building community relationships, providing culturally responsive education on IPV, and supporting current and future staff with training. Background: Quality early childhood interactions, especially quality adult–child interactions, are known to form the foundation of future skills associated with social, academic and communicative development. Speech-language therapists (SLTs) can engage with educators in professional development to improve communication environments for children. Understanding the perspectives of early childhood directors and educators in relation to the feasibility, sustainability and impact of professional development is needed. Aim(s): This study investigated the experiences of early childhood educators and directors who participated in a SLT-led professional development training program. Method: Participants were four directors and six early childhood educators. Directors participated in one focus group; educators participated in individual semi-structured interviews. All participants were female and had between 5 and 38 years of experience. They were interviewed following the completion of an eight-week training program. Verbatim transcripts of the director focus group and educator interviews were thematically analysed using NVivo12. Result(s): Three overarching themes were developed. These were the appropriateness and acceptability of the training, impact and professional engagement with eight subsequent themes also identified. Although participants reported positive experiences participating in the training, several practical and translational challenges were identified. Conclusion: The professional development training implemented by SLTs was influenced by a number of factors that assisted or hindered educator and director experience of the program. The appropriateness, acceptability and feasibility of a professional development (PD) program should carefully consider participants' learning needs and workplace environments. Introduction: Shade matching is an essential procedure to obtain an esthetic prosthesis. The Direct Visual Shade Matching (DSM) method using shade guides is the most used method by dentists. However, The Indirect Visual Digital Shade Matching (ISM) method based on digital imaging is concerned to be reliable and useful in determining shade matching in dental practice. Several factors such as method, clinical experience, and gender can affect the success of shade matching. Aim of the Study: This study aimed to compare these two methods and evaluate the effect of experience and gender on the results. Materials and Methods: Three volunteers' maxillary central incisor teeth were evaluated using (DSM) and (ISM) methods by 87 examiners (42 males, 45 females). These examiners were further divided into three groups based on their clinical experience: Undergraduate Preclinical Dental Students (UPDS) with 31 examiners, Undergraduate Clinical Dental Students (UCDS) with 34 examiners, and Postgraduate Dental Students from the Department of Prosthodontics (PDS) with 22 examiners. The spectrophotometer device results of three teeth were considered as a reference for shade matching. Statistical analyses of the data were performed using Kruskal–Wallis, Mann–Whitney U, and Chi‐square tests. Results: No significant difference was found between indirect and direct methods according to Perfect Matches (p > 0.05). However, according to Shade Matching Deviation Score (SMDS) values a statistically significant difference was found between the two methods where the best result was obtained with the ISM method (p < 0.05). There was a significant difference between the PDS group and the other two groups in terms of clinical experience (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference between gender groups (p > 0.05). Conclusion: Digital images, captured under standardized lighting conditions, may serve as a reliable alternative method for direct shade matching. The (ISM) method requires a camera, related accessories, and computer skills. However, as these tools are commonly available nowadays, the focus for practitioners should be on effectively learning and applying these tools to achieve the best results. While clinical experience plays a significant role in the shade matching process, gender does not appear to have a substantial influence. Clinical Significance: This study found no significant differences between the (DSM) and (ISM) methods, leaving the clinical relevance of this method open to debate. However, the ISM method yielded superior responses. Despite requiring specialized tools, conditions, and training, the widespread use of cameras and computers in modern clinics makes the necessary equipment and software readily available. This method enhances clinician‐technician communication, potentially improving prosthesis esthetics and patient satisfaction, especially for less experienced clinicians or those with color deficiencies. Introduction. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on healthcare professionals globally, with nurses facing diverse challenges at the forefront. Despite their resilience, nurses are experiencing emotional burdens, which have contributed to a growing intention to abandon the profession. Understanding these factors is crucial for addressing the global nursing shortage. Methods. A qualitative descriptive approach was utilized for this study. Nurses who were actively working during the last waves of the pandemic in Catalonia, Spain, were intentionally recruited through social media and personal contacts, and data were collected through online semistructured interviews until data saturation was reached. Data were analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis method. Results. Fourteen nurses, with an average of 22.8 years of work experience, were interviewed. Thematic analysis revealed three main themes: (1) the impact of COVID-19 on health, (2) factors influencing the decision to stay, and (3) recommendations to improve crisis management. Conclusion. Nurses faced significant emotional impacts but demonstrated dedication and resilience. Their decision to persevere was influenced by factors such as responsibility, guilt, and economic stability. Background: The European Region has the lowest rate of exclusive breastfeeding at 6 months worldwide. Improving work-related breastfeeding issues is important given that women may have difficulties combining work and breastfeeding, especially those in precarious working situations, which adds to their adversity. This scoping review overviews research on the maternal employment characteristics that support breastfeeding continuation after return to work in the European Region. Methods: Studies published from 2013 to 2023 were collected from Scopus, PubMed, and PsycInfo. Quantitative and qualitative studies published in English or French that explored the association between maternal employment characteristics and any breastfeeding status, duration, or experience were included. Participants included were mothers of healthy children who continued breastfeeding after resuming work. The main determinants were work-related factors that can lead to socially differentiated working conditions, including type of employment (e.g., occupation, employed/self-employed status, type of contract, working time, occupational prestige), working conditions (e.g., work schedule, decision latitude, latitude to organize worktime), and work environment (e.g., occupational exposure, family-friendly workplace policy, social support). The geographic area encompassed countries included in the World Health Organization European Region. Results: Of the 693 single studies retrieved and screened, 13 were included in the review. Eight studies focused on combining work and breastfeeding, while the others had a broader spectrum by investigating breastfeeding determinants. The represented countries were Spain (n = 4), France (n = 4), UK (n = 2), Ireland (n = 2), and the Netherlands (n = 1). Results highlighted the heterogeneity of measures, time frames, and fields of inquiry, thus revealing a lack of conceptual framework regarding the links between work, breastfeeding, and social health inequalities. Nonetheless, being self-employed, working in a non-manual profession with time flexibility, having lactation rooms at work, being supported by co-workers, and having a breastfeeding workplace policy were salient factors that supported breastfeeding in working mothers. Conclusions: Supporting working mothers who choose to breastfeed is important given the myriad of adverse factors faced by mothers and their children. These results advocate for targeted actions at the workplace such as time flexibility, breastfeeding facilities, and the promotion of breastfeeding-friendly policies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: By incorporating socio-cognitive mindfulness which has been under-examined in the nursing field, this study investigated the relationships between socio-cognitive mindfulness, moral sensitivity, dementia communication behaviors, and dementia nursing performance of nurses in long-term care hospitals. This study also examined the factors influencing nurses' dementia nursing performance. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 209 nurses from long-term care hospitals in Korea. Data were collected between August 1 and August 31, 2022. Participants completed the questionnaire assessing their socio-cognitive mindfulness, moral sensitivity, dementia communication behaviors, and dementia nursing performance. Pearson's correlation and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were performed for data analysis. Results: Dementia nursing performance of the nurses in long-term care hospitals was positively related to their socio-cognitive mindfulness, moral sensitivity, and dementia communication behaviors. Furthermore, nurses' dementia communication behaviors, moral sensitivity, and total clinical career, in that order, were found to be the factors influencing their dementia nursing performance. Conclusion: The findings indicate that the higher socio-cognitive mindfulness, moral sensitivity, and dementia communication behaviors, the higher dementia nursing performance, and that higher dementia nursing performance is associated with better dementia communication behaviors, greater moral sensitivity, and more extensive clinical experiences. This study provides a foundation for developing effective interventions to enhance dementia nursing performance in the future. To improve dementia nursing performance of nurses in long-term care hospitals, it is necessary to improve dementia communication behaviors and moral sensitivity, and prepare multilateral countermeasures to maintain nurses' clinical careers. Background: Few studies have evaluated the perceptions of healthcare providers in China regarding pediatric palliative care, particularly in critical care units (PICUs), where many children receive palliative care. To evaluate the knowledge, attitudes and practices of PICU personnel in China regarding pediatric palliative care. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted in five cities in China (Shanghai, Suzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu and Yunnan) between November 2022 and December 2022. Results: The analysis included 204 participants (122 females), with 158 nurses and 46 physicians. The average knowledge, attitude and practice scores were 9.75 ± 2.90 points (possible range, 0–13 points), 38.30 ± 3.80 points (possible range, 12–60 points) and 35.48 ± 5.72 points (possible range, 9–45 points), respectively. Knowledge score was higher for physicians than for nurses (P < 0.001) and for personnel with previous training in pediatric palliative care (P = 0.005). According to structural equation modelling knowledge had a direct positive effect on attitude (β = 0.69 [0.28–1.10], p = 0.001), and indirect on practice (β = 0.82 [0.36–1.28], p < 0.001); attitude had significant effect on practice as well (β = 1.18 [0.81–1.56], p < 0.001). Conclusions: There is room for improvement in the knowledge, attitudes and practices of PICU personnel in China regarding pediatric palliative care. The findings of this study may facilitate the design and implementation of targeted education/training programs to better inform physicians and nurses in China about pediatric palliative care. Background and Objectives. The scarce empirical and scientific information concerning evidence-informed management reports various benefits for nurse managers, including reduced staff turnover, enhanced working environments, and improved patient outcomes and policy implementation. This review summarizes best available evidence on facilitating utilization of evidence-informed management practices by nurse managers in healthcare facilities. The review could assist in a comprehensive overview of determinants that could assist nurse managers' successful utilization of evidence-informed management. Methods. An integrative review of the literature was conducted, including peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2022. The databases used were BioMed Central, CINAHL Complete, MEDLINE Complete, PubMed (via EBSCOhost), the Complimentary Index (Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, Wiley, and Springer), Sabinet, ScienceDirect, and Scopus, followed by a manual search using Google Scholar and a citation search. Johns Hopkins Nursing Evidence-based Practice Research and non-Research evidence tools were used for appraisal. Thematic analysis was used to synthesize the extracted data. Results. Based on thirteen determinants influencing nurse managers' utilization of evidence-informed management practices, three themes were identified from a total of thirteen relevant studies: (1) Nurse manager determinants in utilization of evidence-informed management (Microlevel); (2) Organizational determinants in utilization of evidence-informed management (Mesolevel); (3) External stakeholders and context determinants of utilization of evidence-informed management practices (Macrolevel). Conclusion. The themes were found to be interconnected and interdependent, facilitating the effective utilization of evidence-informed management by nurse managers at micro-, meso-, and macrolevels, but highlight the need for strengthening health systems and support. Future studies are required to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants influencing nurse managers' utilization of evidence-informed management practices. Aim: Investigate the influence of organizational intelligence on the development of soft skills and the overall thriving of nurses at Alexandria Main University Hospital in Egypt. Design: A cross-sectional descriptive design following STROBE guidelines examined the relationship between organizational intelligence, soft skills, and nurses' thriving. Methods and tools: Data were collected from 740 nurses working across critical care units using structured questionnaires. The questionnaires assessed organizational intelligence, soft skills, and thriving at work. Sociodemographic characteristics, including age, gender, education, and nursing experience, were also collected. Statistical analyses were used to analyze the data, including ANOVA, t-tests, Pearson correlation, and stepwise regression. Results: The findings revealed nurses' positive perceptions of organizational culture and documentation skills. However, areas such as measures and rewards and staff relations and communication indicated opportunities for improvement. Nurses reported high vitality levels but needed more learning opportunities at work. Significant correlations were found between demographic variables, organizational intelligence, soft skills, and thriving. Organizational intelligence demonstrated a robust positive relationship with both soft skills and thriving. Age, gender, education, and experience significantly influenced nurses' soft skills and thriving. Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of organizational intelligence in enhancing nurses' professional capabilities and well-being. Addressing demographic factors and fostering a supportive work environment is crucial for optimizing nursing practice and organizational effectiveness. Background Around 15% of adults aged over 65 live with moderate or severe frailty. Contractual requirements for management of frailty are minimal and neither incentivised nor reinforced. Previous research has shown frailty identification in primary care is ad hoc and opportunistic, but there has been little focus on the challenges of frailty management, particularly within the context of recent introduction of primary care networks and an expanding allied health professional workforce. Aim Explore the views of primary care clinicians in England on the management of frailty. Design and setting Semi-structured interviews were conducted with clinicians across England, including general practitioners (GPs), physician associates, nurse practitioners, paramedics and clinical pharmacists. Thematic analysis was facilitated through NVivo (Version 12). Results A total of 31 clinicians participated. Frailty management was viewed as complex and outside of clinical guidelines with medication optimisation highlighted as a key example. Senior clinicians, particularly experienced GPs, were more comfortable with managing risk. Relational care was important in prioritising patient wishes and autonomy, for instance to remain at home despite deteriorations in health. In settings where more formalised multidisciplinary frailty services had been established this was viewed as successful by clinicians involved. Conclusion Primary care clinicians perceive frailty as best managed through trusted relationships with patients, and with support from experienced clinicians. New multidisciplinary working in primary care could enhance frailty services, but must keep continuity in mind. Individuals have different experiences of work when they are self‐employed, when they perform tasks in the gig economy, and when they follow directives from managers. But such differences are not represented in some of the most prominent non‐ideal theories of work. These describe workers as a coherent group, with a position in the structure of the liberal capitalist economy. I present an alternative that does better at acknowledging difference, through a description of work and workers that has greater 'pluralism' and less 'unifying coherence'. Some might insist that their 'unifying' description has superior empirical plausibility. But if 'pluralistic' descriptions are valid rivals to provide an accurate characterization of our current condition, then we should consider whether their use in theory can serve valuable aims. A recent meta-analysis found reciprocal prospective effects between self-esteem and some aspects of work experience, for example, job satisfaction, and the authors concluded that their findings were consistent with a causal model, where self-esteem affects, and is affected by, work experiences. However, the prospective effects were estimated while adjusting for a prior measure of the outcome variable, and it is known that such adjusted cross-lagged effects may be spurious due to a correlation between the predictor and residuals in the initial measurement of the outcome and regression to the mean. The present reanalyses of the same meta-analytic data found all prospective effects between self-esteem and work experiences to be spurious. The purpose of this study was to identify special education teachers' profiles in relation to their levels of burnout, work engagement and job satisfaction, following a person- oriented approach. This approach was chosen in order to provide cfombinations of attributes that shape high-risk groups of low engagement and high burnout. Additionally, it was examined whether these profiles differed with regard to special education teachers' individual parameters and work-related characteristics, such as age, gender, marital status, number of children in family, level of education, region of employment and teaching experience. The sample included 664 in-service special education teachers (503 females and 161 males) working in primary and secondary schools. Two-step cluster analysis yielded four profiles, entitled: passionate, workaholic, operational and overworked. Differences were also noted among profiles, in terms of participants' age, educational level, region and teaching experience. This article presents the results of a Master's research study into the impact of sibling experiences on psychodynamic practitioners. Interpretative phenomenological analysis offered participating therapists an opportunity to make sense of how their own sibling experiences may have shaped their lives and work and sought to generate wider insights about sibling influence should they emerge. Data was obtained from semi‐structured interviews with six psychodynamic practitioners. The research produced three major findings: that siblings do have a significant and enduring impact on the development of the self; that sibling theory and training could do more to explain this; and that the sibling legacy of both therapist and client is present in the consulting room. The article identifies important theoretical insights on how siblings shape our internal worlds and contribute to development. It argues that without understanding their own sibling material, therapists risk missing the importance of siblings in clinical work. To avoid this, training and continuing professional development bodies could give higher priority to sibling theory and clinical understanding, and supervisors and therapists could undertake to increase their own awareness of their own sibling impacts as well as those of their clients. Despite their use in life-saving treatment, blood and blood products can cause life-threatening complications. To administer blood transfusion safely, national guidelines and protocols should be consulted in healthcare organizations. In Türkiye, there are guides and regulations published by the Ministry of Health. With the definition of hemovigilance in the regulations; training in clinical use of blood and transfusion practice fields is now mandatory. This study presents data from a survey designed to assess transfusion knowledge levels of clinical departments for the purpose of planning our training programs. A two-part survey was conducted on 110 nurses from various departments. Questions included sociodemographic attributes, department they worked in, employment duration, knowledge level on transfusion practices. Statistical analysis was performed. Of the nurses that participated; 52.7% were above 40 years old, 15.5% were 31–40 years old and 31.8% were below 30 years old. For education; 84.5% of the nurses were graduates or postgraduates. For work experience; 64.5% were working in internal medicine departments, 58.2% had been working as a nurse for 10 or more years while 85.5% worked in the same department for less than 5 years. It was determined that the nurses should know more about transfusion. Beginner nurses in the intense care unit were found to have lower levels of transfusion practice knowledge, from this it was deduced additional training should be scheduled for beginner nurses with low transfusion knowledge. In addition to theoretical instructions, one-on-one training on operation controls and "observation and guidance" style practical training should be implemented. This article presents research that explored the ways that systemic and family therapists might approach the support of families living with dementia. A constructivist grounded theory methodology was used to interpret interviews with four systemic family therapists working in the United Kingdom. All participants had professional and/or lived experience of dementia. Transcript analysis and theoretical sampling led to the development of five categories, each related to different aspects of considering systemic therapy in a dementia context. These categories were further developed into a 'systemically informed dementia orienteering' conceptual framework, which is presented in this paper as a learning resource. Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is often the last resort for escalation of treatment in patients with severe acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The success of treatment is mainly determined by patient-specific factors, such as age, comorbidities, duration and invasiveness of the pre-existing ventilation treatment as well as the expertise of the treating ECMO center. In particular, the adjustment of mechanical ventilation during ongoing ECMO treatment remains controversial. Although a reduction of invasiveness of mechanical ventilation seems to be reasonable due to physiological considerations, no improvement in outcome has been demonstrated so far for the use of ultraprotective ventilation regimens. This article aims to explain the process of social worker interventions in emergency response situations in Iran. Content analysis techniques were used to analyze the experiences of hospital social workers (n = 40). The nominal group technique was used to design and compile the process (n = 10). Focus group discussion and the AGREE guidance critique technique were conducted in the presence of experts. In this study, the process of providing specialized interventions of hospital social workers in crisis situations, the challenges, and professional roles were identified. Peer-based interventions are increasingly used for delivering mental health services to help people with an illness re-examine their situation and accept their illness as part of their life story. The role of the peer supporter in these interventions, known as experts-by-experience (EbE), is situated between mutual peer support and semi-professional service delivery, and they face the challenge of balancing an asymmetric, professional relationship with a reciprocal, mutuality-based, equal relationship. This article investigates how EbEs tackle this challenge when responding to clients' stories about their personal, distressing experiences in peer-based groups in psychiatric services. The results show how the EbEs responded to their clients' experience-sharing with two types of turns of talk. In the first response type, the EbEs highlighted reciprocal experience-sharing, nudging the clients toward accepting their illness. This invoked mutual affiliation and more problem-talk from the clients. In the second response type, the EbEs compromised reciprocal experience-sharing and advised clients on how to accept their illness in their everyday lives. This was considered less affiliative in relation to the client's problem description, and the sequence was brought to a close. Both response types involved epistemic asymmetries that needed to be managed in the interaction. Based on our analysis, semi-professional, experience-based expertise involves constant epistemic tensions, as the participants struggle to retain the mutual orientation toward peer-based experience-sharing and affiliation. Background: Shortage and retention of experienced nurses are crucial matters and internationally acknowledged, particularly in specialty areas such as Critical Care. Aim: To explore the experiences of registered nurses in their first and fourth years of practice in an adult intensive care unit. Study Design: This descriptive phenomenological study was conducted over 4 years. Eligible participants were interviewed at two different points in their career. Ten registered nurses were interviewed after three to 6 months of employment in an adult intensive care unit (Phase One). Five of the same participants were interviewed in their fourth year of practice (Phase Two). Findings: Findings related to factors influencing the participants' choice of specialty and their retention are reported in this paper. Two themes emerged from Phase One: a unique environment, positive and negative emotions, unclear expectations, and the journey of a registered nurse. Two themes generated from data collected in Phase Two included a unique environment and being a proficient nurse. In both phases, nurses considered the Intensive Care Unit a stimulating learning environment. Conclusions: This paper highlights that the registered nurse's perception of the Intensive Care Unit and Intensive Care Nursing influenced their choice of specialty, and learning opportunities influenced their decision to remain in the Intensive Care Unit. Relevance to Clinical Practice: The findings of this study inform action areas for healthcare organizations and nursing managers. Challenges, learning opportunities and the nature of critical care nursing should be considered target areas for organizations to promote and develop as part of critical care nurses' retention strategies. STAFF MEMBERS IN LIVE-IN POSITIONS often find themselves faced with a difficult choice: Leave their roles in search of a job that offers a better work/life balance or stay and hope their department is invested in making the changes necessary to support their staff. Live-in staff are in a unique position because the challenges they face in establishing work/life boundaries and confronting a constant sense of urgency permeate their jobs and are exacerbated by living where they work. Entry-level staff, often the ones who fill live-in roles, are the professionals who leave the field of student affairs at the greatest rate. How can residence life leaders make entry-level live-in roles feel more sustainable for their staff? In this study, researchers center the perspectives of seven live-in staff who attempt to re-imagine their roles. Findings show that there are greater organizational challenges related to a work culture characterized by a sense of urgency and lack of reflection. Malnutrition affects up to one in three Canadian children admitted to hospital. Awareness among pediatric healthcare providers (HCPs) of the prevalence and impacts of hospitalized malnutrition is critical for optimal management. The purpose of this study was to determine perceptions of malnutrition among pediatric HCP across two major academic health sciences centres, and to determine how the use of a standardized pediatric nutritional screening tool at one institution affects responses. Between 2020 and 2022, 192 HCPs representing nursing, dietetics, medicine, and other allied health were surveyed across McMaster Children's Hospital and The Hospital for Sick Children. 38% of respondents from both centres perceived rates of malnutrition between approximately one in three patients. Perceptions of the need for nutritional screening, assessment, and management were similar between centres. All respondents identified the need for better communication of hospitalized malnutrition status to community providers at discharge, and resource limitations affecting nutritional management of pediatric inpatients. This study represents the largest and most diverse survey of inpatient pediatric HCPs to date. We demonstrate high rates of baseline knowledge of hospital malnutrition, ongoing resource challenges, and the need for a systematic approach to pediatric nutritional management. Background: Primary care providers play an important role in home health care, and their practice behavior is significant for care quality and patient outcomes. This study aimed to assess the home care practice behavior of Chinese primary care providers and to explore the factors associated with the practice behavior. Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional design with a convenience sample was used to survey 863 registered primary care providers from 62 primary health care settings in Sichuan Province, China. Descriptive statistics, t-test or ANOVA for one-way analysis, and Pearson's correlation analyses were used to compare the differences and examine the relationships between participants' demographics and experience of home care services and practice behavior. Multiple linear regression models were performed to identify salient variables associated with the practice behavior from among demographic and home care experience. Results: The score of home care practice behavior questionnaire was 97.25 ± 21.05. The average scores for the dimensions of home visit preparation, assessment, medical care behavior and safety practice were 3.70 ± 0.95, 3.76 ± 1.02, 3.66 ± 1.03, and 3.20 ± 0.46, respectively. Home care practice behavior was associated with working years, working experience in general hospitals, work area, home care experience such as client types of home care, service frequency and willingness, explaining 21.5% of the total variance. Conclusion: Chinese primary care providers had a medium to high level of home care practice behavior but poor implementation of safety practice. Background: The health care systems in the Nordic countries and worldwide are under pressure due to increased longevity and a shortage of nurses. Providing nurses with a high level of education, such as advanced practice nursing, is of great importance to ensure effective, safe and high-quality care. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate self-reported competence using the Nurse Professional Competence Scale Short-Form for the first time among master's students of advanced practice nursing in the Nordic countries and to relate the findings to age, work obligations, child-rearing responsibilities, level of education and clinical nursing experience. Methods: A multicentre, cross-sectional design was used in this study conducted at five universities in Denmark, Finland and Norway. The Nurse Professional Competence Scale Short-Form consisting of six competence areas was used with a maximum score of 7 per item for the analysis of single items and a transformed scale from 14.3 to 100 for analysing the competence areas (higher score equals higher self-reported competence). Descriptive and comparative statistics were used to analyse the data. Results: The highest mean score was found for the competence area 'Value-based nursing care'. Students living with home-dwelling children (≤ 18 years) reported significantly higher competence in 'Nursing care', while students ≥33 years reported significantly higher competence in 'Nursing care' and 'Value-based nursing care'. No significant differences were found between students working and those not working alongside their studies, between students with and without further nursing-related education, or between students with long and short experience as nurses. Conclusions: The findings from this study might help to further develop curricula in advanced practice nursing master's programmes to ensure high-quality nursing and sustainable health care in the future. Future high-quality master's programmes might benefit from systematic collaboration between Nordic higher education institutions as also Sweden is planning master's programme. Introduction. Little is known about how shifting hospital visitor restrictions issued by national health authorities were communicated, managed, and adapted by hospital charge nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic. Aims. To describe the shifting visitor restrictions and the passing on of restrictions from the national authority level to charge nurses and secondly describe charge nurses' management of the restrictions and their challenges when enforcing them. Methods. The study consisted of a document analysis and a cross-sectional survey including open-ended questions. Descriptive statistics and qualitative content analysis were used. The survey was distributed online to 88 charge nurses in somatic units in a Danish university hospital from March 2020 to April 2021. Results. Restrictions were communicated from national authority level in an effective administrative cascade. The charge nurses led their enforcement in each unit. In total, 71 charge nurses (81%) responded to the survey. For 70%, the wording of the restrictions was clear, while 31% found them challenging to handle. On a weekly or daily basis, 68% of the charge nurses deviated from the restrictions. They identified both upsides and downsides to the absence of relatives. Communication, collaboration, and leadership were experienced as key tools in the ongoing processes of adapting to shifting restrictions. Conclusion. During this severe health crisis, essential information was passed on through well-defined management levels in an effective communication pathway. Charge nurses and their professional values were challenged when balancing shifting national restrictions against individual needs of patients and relatives. Implications for Nursing Management. Charge nurses serve as vital intermediaries between national authorities and frontline nursing practice in managing shifting visitor restrictions during a pandemic. Their experiences can contribute to further qualifying nurse managers' considerations when designing family-centred hospital visitor policies for the future. Background: Primary care physicians often lack resources and training to correctly diagnose and manage chronic insomnia disorder. Tools supporting chronic insomnia diagnosis and management could fill this critical gap. A survey was conducted to understand insomnia disorder diagnosis and treatment practices among primary care physicians, and to evaluate a diagnosis and treatment algorithm on its use, to identify ways to optimize it specifically for these providers. Methods: A panel of experts developed an algorithm for diagnosing and treating chronic insomnia disorder, based on current guidelines and experience in clinical practice. An online survey was conducted with primary care physicians from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom, who treat chronic insomnia patients, between January and February 2023. A sub-sample of participants provided open-ended feedback on the algorithm and gave suggestions for improvements. Results: Overall, 106 primary care physicians completed the survey. Half (52%, 55/106) reported they did not regularly screen for insomnia and half (51%, 54/106) felt they did not have enough time to address patients' needs in relation to insomnia or trouble sleeping. The majority (87%,92/106) agreed the algorithm would help diagnose chronic insomnia patients and 82% (87/106) agreed the algorithm would help improve their clinical practice in relation to managing chronic insomnia. Suggestions for improvements were making the algorithm easier to read and use. Conclusion: The algorithm developed for, and tested by, primary care physicians to diagnose and treat chronic insomnia disorder may offer significant benefits to providers and their patients through ensuring standardization of insomnia diagnosis and management. Background: Decision making is a pivotal component of nursing education worldwide. This study aimed to accomplish objectives: (1) Cross-cultural adaptation and psychometric validation of the Nursing Anxiety and Self-Confidence with Clinical Decision Making (NASC-CDM©) scale from English to Spanish; (2) Comparison of nursing student groups by academic years; and (3) Analysis of the impact of work experience on decision making. Methods: Cross-sectional comparative study. A convenience sample comprising 301 nursing students was included. Cultural adaptation and validation involved a rigorous process encompassing translation, back-translation, expert consultation, pilot testing, and psychometric evaluation of reliability and statistical validity. The NASC-CDM© scale consists of two subscales: self-confidence and anxiety, and 3 dimensions: D1 (Using resources to gather information and listening fully), D2 (Using information to see the big picture), and D3 (Knowing and acting). To assess variations in self-confidence and anxiety among students, the study employed the following tests: Analysis of Variance tests, homogeneity of variance, and Levene's correction with Tukey's post hoc analysis. Results: Validation showed high internal consistency reliability for both scales: Cronbach's α = 0.920 and Guttman's λ2 = 0.923 (M = 111.32, SD = 17.07) for self-confidence, and α = 0.940 and λ2 = 0.942 (M = 80.44, SD = 21.67) for anxiety; and comparative fit index (CFI) of: 0.981 for self-confidence and 0.997 for anxiety. The results revealed a significant and gradual increase in students' self-confidence (p =.049) as they progressed through the courses, particularly in D2 and D3. Conversely, anxiety was high in the 1st year (M = 81.71, SD = 18.90) and increased in the 3rd year (M = 86.32, SD = 26.38), and significantly decreased only in D3. Work experience positively influenced self-confidence in D2 and D3 but had no effect on anxiety. Conclusion: The Spanish version (NASC-CDM-S©) was confirmed as a valid, sensitive, and reliable instrument, maintaining structural equivalence with the original English version. While the students' self-confidence increased throughout their training, their levels of anxiety varied. Background: There is a notable variation in the percentage of non-conveyed patients within the ambulance service. Discharging patients at the scene includes a risk of adverse events, and both patients and ambulance clinicians experience the complexity of non-conveyance. Therefore, this study aimed to describe factors influencing the care encounter when care in the ambulance service concludes with non-conveyance. Method: A qualitative study design employing the critical incident technique for data collection through individual interviews, and a qualitative analysis based on Fridlund et al. descriptions was utilized. The study conforms to the COREQ checklist for reporting qualitative research. Results: Fourteen Registered Nurses (RN) described 30 incidents and various factors were identified as influencing the care encounter. The factors included communication, sharing information, maintaining a secure and confident approach, organizational aspects, applying person-centered care in collaboration with the patient, relatives, and other caregivers, and an overall understanding of the patient's entire situation. These factors were integrated into the RNs' decision-making process for non-conveyance. Conclusion: The decision-making process for non-conveyance by RNs is a multifaceted approach that incorporates several factors. Communication, sharing of information, maintaining a secure and confident approach, organizational aspects, applying person-centered care in collaboration with the patient, relatives, and other caregivers, and a comprehensive understanding of the patient's entire situation. These findings have the potential to contribute to the development of guidelines supporting the RNs working in the ambulance service in their decisions regarding non-conveyance. Background: The practice of continuous palliative sedation until death is the subject of much medical and ethical debate, which is reflected in the inconsistency that persists in the literature regarding the definition and indications of palliative sedation. Aim: This study aims to gain a better understanding of palliative care clinicians' experiences with continuous palliative sedation. Design: We conducted a qualitative study based on focus group discussions. Setting/participants: We conducted six focus groups with a total of 28 palliative care clinicians (i.e., 15 nurses, 12 physicians, and 1 end-of-life doula) from diverse care settings across Canada, where assisted dying has recently been legalized. Results: An interpretative phenomenological analysis was used to consolidate the data into six key themes: responding to suffering; grappling with uncertainty; adapting care to ensure ongoing quality; grounding clinical practice in ethics; combining medical expertise, relational tact, and reflexivity; and offering an alternative to assisted death. Conclusions: Interaction with the patient's family, uncertainty about the patient's prognosis, the concurrent practice of assisted dying, and the treatment of existential suffering influence the quality of sedation and indicate a lack of clear palliative care guidelines. Background: Palliative care lower medical expenses and enhances quality of life, but misconception with euthanasia delays timely care and makes inappropriate patient management. Objective: To examine the magnitude of misconceptions between palliative care and euthanasia among Thai general practitioners, explore the association with knowledge, attitudes, and practical experience, and assess the association between misconception and confidence in practicing and referring patients to palliative care centers. Methods: All 144 general practitioners who were going to start residency training at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital in 2021 participated in this observational cross-sectional study. A chi-square test was utilized to examine the relationship between misconception and knowledge, attitude, practical experience, confidence to practice, and confidence to refer patients. Multivariable logistic regression was carried out while controlling for age, sex, knowledge, attitude, and experience to examine the relationship between misconception and confidence to practice and refer patients for palliative care. Statistical significance was defined at p < 0.05. Results: About 41% of general physicians had misconceptions regarding palliative care and euthanasia. High knowledge was associated with a lower level of misconception (p = 0.01). The absence of misconceptions was weakly associated with a higher level of confidence in practicing palliative care, with an adjusted odds ratio of 1.51 (95% confidence interval 0.73 to 3.10, p = 0.07). Conclusion: High misconception rates between palliative care and euthanasia among young Thai physicians might impact their confidence in delivering palliative care. Background. Electronic-prescribing (e-prescribing) is the most recent technological advancement in the medication use process. Its adoption and consequent realization of its potential benefits, however, mainly depend on the healthcare professionals' perception, willingness to accept, and engagement with the technology. Objectives. This study is aimed at assessing the perception of healthcare professionals towards e-prescribing at the University of Gondar Comprehensive Specialized Hospital, Northwest Ethiopia, from June 1 to August 30, 2021. Method. A cross-sectional study was conducted using a simple random sampling technique. A self-administered questionnaire was used for data collection. Data were entered into and analyzed by using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS® (IBM Corporation)) version 24. Both descriptive and inferential statistics like the Kruskal-Wallis and Mann–Whitney tests were used for data analysis. A statistical significance was declared at a p value < 0.05. Result. From 401 participants, the majority of study participants had a neutral perception of e-prescribing. More than two-thirds (68.8%) of them had a neutral perception towards the perceived usefulness of e-prescribing with a median (interquartile range (IQR)) perceived usefulness of 43.0 (7.0) (maximum score = 60). The perceived ease of use of e-prescribing was also neutral in the case of more than three-fourths (79.8%) of participants with a median (IQR) perceived ease of use of 49.0 (6) (maximum score = 75). Similarly, more than half (56.6%) of the participants had a neutral perception towards the perceived fitness of e-prescribing with a median (IQR) perceived fitness of 15.0 (2.5) (maximum score = 15). The perception of the participants showed a significant difference based on their qualifications and work and computer use experience. Participants who heard about e-prescribing and e-prescribing software had a significantly higher mean rank score of perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived fitness of e-prescribing. Participants who previously used e-prescribing had also a significantly higher mean rank score of perceived usefulness. Conclusion and Recommendation. The majority of healthcare professionals had a neutral perception of e-prescribing. The perception of healthcare professionals differs based on their qualifications, work and computer use experience, and their exposure to e-prescribing. The hospital should take all expectations and concerns of all HCPs into consideration and provide experience-sharing opportunities for all healthcare professionals who may potentially be involved in e-prescribing. Parallel to the advent of social media and the easy access to online pornographic content there is a sharp increase in adolescent females expressing gender dysphoria worldwide. This paper argues that treatment of gender dysphoria in female adolescents must include explicit exploration into their use and exchange of pornographic content, as well as possible online or offline contacts with adults. Possible avenues of how pornographic content may increase the shame and fear of becoming a woman include the acquisition of misogynistic sexual scripts based on false assumptions on sexuality including the normalization of the violation of females as pleasurable for them, peer influence among female friendship groups, the susceptibility of our medical systems to "mass hysteria" phenomena, easier access of adults with sexually abusive intentions to youth through social media, sexual abuse and victim blaming on females, as well as the influence of pornography on mentalization capacities. As the influence of pornography on gender dysphoria in girls is understudied, this paper provides questions for qualitative and quantitative research, case studies and history taking. Especially the lack of an adequate other during exposure may aggravate false assumptions on gender roles and gender inequality seen in mainstream pornography. Girls affected by autism might be at higher risk because of their reduced mentalization capacities. Working through experiences associated with pornographic content and sexually abusive experiences may correct false beliefs about gender inequality and therefore might alleviate gender dysphoria. This study explores English Language Teaching (ELT) teachers' experiences of reflective practice in Türkiye. It looks at the role agency plays in reflection in relation to teacher growth. Thirteen ELT teachers were interviewed through narrative interviews and critical incidents. All teachers were engaged in reflection-in-action and reflection-on-action; however, they differed in the criticality of their reflection and what they reflected on. Their ability to engage in critical reflection, and therefore their growth, was shaped by their agency. Those with a future-oriented agency could focus on their aspirations, detach themselves from present constraints and engage in critical reflection. However, those with present-oriented agency tended to view external factors as disablers and struggled to reflect critically. As critical reflection can lead to teacher development, developing agency to support reflective opportunities throughout pre-service and in-service years seems essential. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A plethora of scientific evidence has pinpointed that teaching English as a foreign or second language (EFL) is difficult, challenging, and emotionally burdensome. Nevertheless, most English language teachers remain committed to the teaching profession and actively engage in the instructional environment. This has inspired several scholars worldwide to explore what personal, emotional, and psychological factors motivate English language teachers to engage enthusiastically in their workplace. While a large body of studies have to date examined the personal, emotional, and psychological predictors of English language teachers' work engagement, to our knowledge, no inquiry has investigated the role of academic buoyancy and self-efficacy in predicting EFL teachers' work engagement. Furthermore, the potential impact of demographic variables on the interplay between EFL teachers' academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement has been disregarded. To bridge this gap, we examined the interplay of these three constructs among Chinese EFL teachers. To do so, we administered three pre-designed questionnaires to 242 EFL teachers working in Chinese schools and universities. The collected data were then analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The outcomes of SEM divulged positive and strong relationships between Chinese EFL teachers' academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement. The SEM results also indicated that academic buoyancy and self-efficacy could strongly and favorably predict Chinese EFL teachers' work engagement. Additionally, the study outcomes disclosed that demographic variables, including gender, educational degree, and teaching experience, directly impacted the interplay between Chinese EFL teachers' academic buoyancy, self-efficacy, and work engagement.
