Immersion of tooth sections in a 2% solution of tetracycline HCl for one hour caused a loss of phosphorescence of the enamel, the pulp chamber, and certain regions of cementum. After three additional hours of immersion, all of the enamel and most of the cementum had lost their phosphorescence.
