A new antenna of a triple-broadband operation is proposed for digital TV reception and sub-7 GHz 5G applications. The structure made up of an L-shaped printed antenna, it comprises of two asymmetrical sections, which are separated by an inner C-shaped slot of width 1.0 mm. Both sections are connected together through a shorting strip. This new configuration employs a direct coaxial feed to excite both, a C-shaped inner-slot and the two asymmetrical sections. Several resonant modes' frequencies are excited, in which adjacent modes are merged to achieved three broadband operations: 470-1700 MHz, 3100-4800 MHz, and 5100-7000 MHz. A prototype is fabricated and tested. Experimental results of the reflection coefficient, total radiation efficiency, and radiation patterns are all presented, discussed, and compared to other designs in the current-state-of-the-art. Thus, this work represents a promising compact antenna candidate for all current wireless applications ranges from 470 MHz to 7000 MHz. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
