The water requirement of each individual is influenced by different factors due to various activities. Moreover, domestic water consumption is also affected by socio-economic and demographic characteristics. The Indonesian government has published the standard for urban water consumption. However, this standard often underestimates the actual needs of water in the urban area due to various aspects in sociodemographic and economic development in the region. Therefore, the aim of this study is to calculate the actual amount of domestic water consumption, which can later be used as a reference for urban water consumption. The subjects of this research are PDAM Way Rilau customers in zone 075 Bandar Lampung City, which consists of 100 customers as samples (i.e., calculated based on Slovin Method). Direct observation, interviews, and questionnaires were used for data collection. Validation and reliability test were done before going to the main survey. The data analysis was done by using Microsoft Excel 2016 and Microsoft Word 2016 software. The study shown that the domestic water consumption in the study location (PDAM Way Rilau in zone 075 Bandar Lampung City) during the sampling period (January-February 2022) shown higher value than the conventional standard 150 and 126,9 liters/person/day (i.e., actual domestic water consumption is around 231.4 L/person/day), with the most dominant domestic activity is for showering and ablution. Therefore, it is clearly indicated that further comprehensive study regarding the actual domestic water consumption should be done to elucidate the main factor that affects the water consumptions.
