Callicarpa nudiflora can be used as a new green plant feed additive in animal production. The main chemical components of Callicarpa nudiflora are flavonoids, phenylpropanoids, terpenoids, volatile oils, etc. These components play different pharmacological roles in anti-inflammatory, hemostatic, antibacterial, and immune enhancement, which can be used in animal production. In order to promote the further development and citation of Callicarpa nudiflora, the paper summarized the pharmacological activity and mechanism of Callicarpa nudiflora, and summarized its research progress in monogastric animal production, providing a reference for the subsequent development of Callicarpa nudiflora. The experiment was conducted to compare the effect of different sources pigment additives on growth performance, slaughter performance and skin coloration of Danzhou chickens. A total of two hundred and ten 150-day-old Danzhou chickens with similar body weight were randomly divided into seven groups, with five replicates in each group and six chickens in each replicate. Danzhou chickens in control group were fed with basal diet, chickens in group I and group II were given a basal diet supplemented with 10 mg/kg carophyll red + 20 mg/kg carophyll yellow, 20 mg/kg carophyll red + 40 mg/kg carophyll yellow, respectively, chickens in group III and group IV were given a basal diet added 100, 200 mg/kg of turmeric extract, respectively, and chickens in group V and group VI were given a basal diet supplemented with 500, 1 000 mg/kg of marigold extract. The trial period was 28 d. The results showed that compared with control group, the growth performance and slaughter performance of Danzhou chickens in each experimental group was not significant (P>0.05). On the 28th day, b* value of back skin of Danzhou chickens in group II and group VI was significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05), and abdominal skin b* value of Danzhou chickens in group II were higher than control group (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the abdominal fat percentage of Danzhou chickens in group IV was significantly decreased (P<0.05). The experiment was to study the effect of different content of raspberry tea on growth performance, slaughter performance, blood indexes of Wenchang broilers. 240 healthy Wenchang broilers of 70-day-old with similar body weight were randomly divided into four groups with five replicates in each group and 12 broilers in each replicate. The broilers in control group were fed with basic diet, and the broilers in experimental group were fed with different levels (0.2%, 0.4%, 0.6%) of raspberry tea in basic diet. The experiment lasted for 54 d. The results showed that compared with the control group, the final weight and average daily gain of the 0.4% raspberry tea group were significantly increased (P<0.05), and the feed to gain ratio was significantly decreased (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the breast muscle rate of 0.4% raspberry tea group was significantly increased (P<0.05), and the slaughter rate and breast muscle rate of 0.6% raspberry tea group were significantly increased (P<0.05). The serum total antioxidant capacity (T-AOC) and total superoxide dismutase (T-SOD) activity of Wenchang broilers were significantly increased in 0.4% raspberry tea group (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, dietary supplementation of 0.2%, 0.4% and 0.6% raspberry tea could significantly increase the serum IgA content of broilers (P<0.05). The experiment indicates that adding raspberry tea to the diet can improve the growth performance, slaughter performance, serum antioxidant capacity and immune function of Wenchang broilers, and the best level is 0.4%.
