Abstract

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that is associated with several comorbidities and co-manifestations that reduce patient quality of life. Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a form of spondyloarthritis that is associated with psoriasis and typically involves peripheral disease, axial disease, enthesitis, dactylitis, and skin and nail lesions. Psoriatic arthritis is associated with a substantial psychosocial and functional burden and can lead to irreversible joint damage if left untreated. Early and accurate diagnosis of PsA is critical. The symptoms of PsA span the fields of dermatology and rheumatology, and professional societies recommend co-management between rheumatologists and dermatologists to optimally treat the condition. Dermatologists must be familiar with the hallmarks of PsA, while rheumatologists should understand the impact that cutaneous manifestations of PsA can have on quality of life. Current models of co-management include combined clinics and virtual clinics, which have had success in case reports. Co-management of PsA has been associated with more use of biologics, better preventive care, and higher patient satisfaction.

Abstract

Summary Both mild and severe epilepsies are influenced by variants in the same genes, yet an explanation for the resulting phenotypic variation is unknown. As part of the ongoing Epi25 Collaboration, we performed a whole-exome sequencing analysis of 13,487 epilepsy-affected individuals and 15,678 control individuals. While prior Epi25 studies focused on gene-based collapsing analyses, we asked how the pattern of variation within genes differs by epilepsy type. Specifically, we compared the genetic architectures of severe developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEEs) and two generally less severe epilepsies, genetic generalized epilepsy and non-acquired focal epilepsy (NAFE). Our gene-based rare variant collapsing analysis used geographic ancestry-based clustering that included broader ancestries than previously possible and revealed novel associations. Using the missense intolerance ratio (MTR), we found that variants in DEE-affected individuals are in significantly more intolerant genic sub-regions than those in NAFE-affected individuals. Only previously reported pathogenic variants absent in available genomic datasets showed a significant burden in epilepsy-affected individuals compared with control individuals, and the ultra-rare pathogenic variants associated with DEE were located in more intolerant genic sub-regions than variants associated with non-DEE epilepsies. MTR filtering improved the yield of ultra-rare pathogenic variants in affected individuals compared with control individuals. Finally, analysis of variants in genes without a disease association revealed a significant burden of loss-of-function variants in the genes most intolerant to such variation, indicating additional epilepsy-risk genes yet to be discovered. Taken together, our study suggests that genic and sub-genic intolerance are critical characteristics for interpreting the effects of variation in genes that influence epilepsy.

Abstract

Abstract Turbulence is a ubiquitous phenomenon in neutral and conductive fluids. According to classical theory, turbulence is a rotating flow containing vortices of different scales. Eddies play a fundamental role in the nonlinear cascade of kinetic energy at different scales in turbulent flow. In conductive fluids, the Alfvénic/kinetic Alfvénic wave (AW/KAW) is the new “cell” of magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence (frozen-in condition). Wave energy, which has equal kinetic and magnetic energy, is redistributed among multiple-scale Fourier modes and transferred from the large MHD scale to the small kinetic scale through the collision of counter-propagating Alfvénic wave packages propagating along the magnetic field line. Fluid-like eddy-dominant plasma flow turbulence has never been found in space since the launch of the first satellite in 1957. In this paper, we report the first observation of eddy-dominant turbulence within magnetic reconnection-generated fast flow in the Earth’s tail plasma sheet by the Magnetospheric Multiscale Spacecraft (MMS). In eddy-dominant turbulent reconnection jet, ions dominate the flow field while electrons dominate current and magnetic fluctuations. Our findings shed new light on the nonlinear kinetic and magnetic energy cascade in MHD turbulence.

Abstract

Modern Process Mineralogy has been making significant advances in methodology and data interpretation since it was assembled in the mid-1980s as a multi-disciplined team approach to obtaining mineralogical information from drill core and plant samples so as to infer the metallurgical processing requirements of that ore. This hybrid discipline consists of teams that include geologists, mineralogists, samplers, mineral processors and often others, working together. The degree of cross-training, communication and trust dictates the potential capacity of the team and it is possible to develop technical capabilities that surpass those of conventional teams. A pivotal tool for technically efficient and plant-oriented process mineralogy is, of course, the use of modern, automated laboratory technology. In these cases, process mineralogy, though associated with some capital investment, is a valuable risk reduction tool and an operations optimization tool for any mining company, not only in terms of finances but also in terms of human and intellectual capital. However, if the teams are dysfunctional and information is not interpreted correctly due to limited experience in the team or less than best practice, or it is not implemented or used, much of the value can be lost. Process Mineralogy can then be regarded as ‘time consuming and expensive’. In this paper, the business value of best practice Process Mineralogy is outlined and discussed. Case studies that include ‘green fields’ new design applications and ‘brown fields’ interventions to mature operations have been selected to demonstrate the tremendous financial value that can be achieved are presented, along with those where costly disasters could have been averted. The list is not intended to be exhaustive or complete, and the reader is referred to the extensive literature available. Examples are selected for this publication specifically to illustrate the delicate balance between generating additional business value through potentially expensive mineralogical analyses and the lost opportunities of underperforming flowsheets, unanticipated losses due to high feed variance, inadequate liberation or deleterious minerals, over-reagentised circuits, or extra costs of unnecessary or underutilised equipment.

Abstract

Sequencing-based studies have identified novel risk genes for rare, severe epilepsies and revealed a role of rare deleterious variation in common epilepsies. To identify the shared and distinct ultra-rare genetic risk factors for rare and common epilepsies, we performed a whole-exome sequencing (WES) analysis of 9,170 epilepsy-affected individuals and 8,364 controls of European ancestry. We focused on three phenotypic groups; the rare but severe developmental and epileptic encephalopathies (DEE), and the commoner phenotypes of genetic generalized epilepsy (GGE) and non-acquired focal epilepsy (NAFE). We observed that compared to controls, individuals with any type of epilepsy carried an excess of ultra-rare, deleterious variants in constrained genes and in genes previously associated with epilepsy, with the strongest enrichment seen in DEE and the least in NAFE. Moreover, we found that inhibitory GABAA receptor genes were enriched for missense variants across all three classes of epilepsy, while no enrichment was seen in excitatory receptor genes. The larger gene groups for the GABAergic pathway or cation channels also showed a significant mutational burden in DEE and GGE. Although no single gene surpassed exome-wide significance among individuals with GGE or NAFE, highly constrained genes and genes encoding ion channels were among the top associations, including CACNA1G, EEF1A2, and GABRG2 for GGE and LGI1, TRIM3, and GABRG2 for NAFE. Our study confirms a convergence in the genetics of common and rare epilepsies associated with ultra-rare coding variation and highlights a ubiquitous role for GABAergic inhibition in epilepsy etiology in the largest epilepsy WES study to date.

29. Are biters sick? Health status of tail biters in comparison to control pigs

Abstract

Abstract Background Tail biting is a multifactorial problem. As the health status is one of the factors commonly linked to tail biting, this study focuses on the health of identified biters. 30 (obsessive) biters are compared to 30 control animals by clinical and pathological examination as well as blood and cerebrospinal fluid samples. In that way, altogether 174 variables are compared between the groups. Moreover, connections between the variables are analysed. Results In the clinical examination, 6 biters, but only 2 controls (P = 0.019) were noticeably agitated in the evaluation of general behaviour, while 8 controls were noticeably calmer (2 biters, P = 0.02). Biters had a lower body weight (P = 0.0007) and 13 biters had overlong bristles (4 controls, P = 0.008). In the pathological examination, 5 biters, but none of the controls had a hyperceratosis or inflammation of the pars proventricularis of the stomach (P = 0.018). However, 7 controls and only 3 biters were affected by gut inflammation (P = 0.03). In the blood sample, protein and albumin levels were below normal range for biters (protein: 51.6 g/l, albumin: 25.4 g/l), but not for controls (protein: 53.7 g/l, albumin: 27.4 g/l), (protein: P = 0.05, albumin: P = 0.02). Moreover, 14 biters, but only 8 controls had poikilocytosis (P = 0.05). Although not statistically different between groups, many animals (36/60) were affected by hypoproteinemia and hyponatremia as well as by hypokalemia (53/60) and almost all animals (58/60) had hypomagnesemia. For hypomagnesemia, significant connections with variables linked to tail damage and ear necrosis were detected (rs/V/ρ ≥ 0.4, P ≤ 0.05). Conclusion The results suggest that behavioural tests might be helpful in identifying biters. Moreover, cornification and inflammation of the pars proventricularis is linked to becoming a biter. Furthermore, the results highlight the need for appropriate and adjusted nutrient and mineral supply, especially with regard to magnesium.

Abstract

Abstract Canine drug-resistant epilepsy is a prevailing issue in veterinary neurology. Alternative or additional treatment with cannabinoids is showing promising results in seizure management. A crucial component of the endocannabinoid system, cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R), is heavily involved in the control of neurotransmitter release. Knowledge of its distribution in the epileptic brain would serve a better understanding of disease pathology and application of cannabinoids in dogs with epilepsy. CB1R distribution was assessed in sub-regions of hippocampus of dogs with idiopathic epilepsy, structural epilepsy and without cerebral pathology. In dogs with idiopathic epilepsy, significantly decreased CB1R expression compared to control animals was observed in CA1. In dogs with structural epilepsy, a significant increase in CB1R signal intensity in comparison to controls was observed. CB1R expression was higher in the structural group as compared to the idiopathic. Double immunofluorescence showed co-localization between CB1R and an astrocytic marker in about 50% of cells, regardless of the diagnosis. In summary, CB1R expression in canine hippocampus undergoes modification by the epileptic process and the direction of this change depends on the etiology of the disease. The distinct disease-associated CB1R expression needs to be considered in new treatment development for dogs with epilepsy.

Abstract

Mineralogical laboratory technology has undergone seismic shifts since the introduction of automated mineral analyzers and other quantitative tools such as XRD Rietveld analysis. During the last 25 years, these changes have positioned mineralogical data into the front line of ore characterization, process control and plant optimization. The continuous deterioration of ore quality in regard to grade, hardness, finer particle sizes and the increase of metallurgical complexities have made modern process mineralogy an integral part of new project development. In addition, it has supported improvement of existing plants and the better utilization of tailings or other residues. Automation in mineralogical (and chemical) laboratories from sample preparation to analysis has been the baseline for these improvements. This paper will highlight key benchmarks of mineralogical work from ore characterization to advanced process mineralogy including the increasing importance of mineralogical mine site laboratories. A roadmap for the future of operations-oriented process mineralogy will be provided.

Abstract

Abstract Mercury’s southern inner magnetosphere is an unexplored region as it was not observed by earlier space missions. In October 2021, BepiColombo mission has passed through this region during its first Mercury flyby. Here, we describe the observations of SERENA ion sensors nearby and inside Mercury’s magnetosphere. An intermittent high-energy signal, possibly due to an interplanetary magnetic flux rope, has been observed downstream Mercury, together with low energy solar wind. Low energy ions, possibly due to satellite outgassing, were detected outside the magnetosphere. The dayside magnetopause and bow-shock crossing were much closer to the planet than expected, signature of a highly eroded magnetosphere. Different ion populations have been observed inside the magnetosphere, like low latitude boundary layer at magnetopause inbound and partial ring current at dawn close to the planet. These observations are important for understanding the weak magnetosphere behavior so close to the Sun, revealing details never reached before.

Abstract

Abstract Utilizing four-point joint observations by Magnetospheric Multiscale Spacecraft (MMS), we investigate the main features of the current sheet frozen in (CSFI) the bursty bulk flow. Typical event on the steady long-lasting BBF on July 23, 2017 shows the enhanced dawn-dusk current (Jy0) in the CSFI (β ~ 10). The magnitude of the Jy0 in the CSFI is about 5.5 nA/m2. The CSFI is highly turbulent, with the ratio of ∆J/J0 of ~ 2 (where ∆J is perturbed J). The turbulent CSFI is characterized by intermittent current coherent structures. The magnitude of the spiky-J at coherent structures is typically above 30 nA/m2. Spectrum analysis exhibits that BBF turbulence follows distinct dissipation laws inside and outside the CSFI. Based on MMS observations, we propose a new model of the BBF in the framework of magnetohydrodynamics. In this model, the BBF is depicted as a closed plasma system with the localized current sheet frozen at the center of the flow (Taylor’s hypothesis). In the light of principle of Helmholtz-decomposition, the BBF motion in the tail plasma sheet is explained. The model also predicts the thermal expansion of the BBF after leaving the reconnection source region.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION Neutrinos are tracers of cosmic-ray acceleration: electrically neutral and traveling at nearly the speed of light, they can escape the densest environments and may be traced back to their source of origin. High-energy neutrinos are expected to be produced in blazars: intense extragalactic radio, optical, x-ray, and, in some cases, γ-ray sources characterized by relativistic jets of plasma pointing close to our line of sight. Blazars are among the most powerful objects in the Universe and are widely speculated to be sources of high-energy cosmic rays. These cosmic rays generate high-energy neutrinos and γ-rays, which are produced when the cosmic rays accelerated in the jet interact with nearby gas or photons. On 22 September 2017, the cubic-kilometer IceCube Neutrino Observatory detected a ~290-TeV neutrino from a direction consistent with the flaring γ-ray blazar TXS 0506+056. We report the details of this observation and the results of a multiwavelength follow-up campaign. RATIONALE Multimessenger astronomy aims for globally coordinated observations of cosmic rays, neutrinos, gravitational waves, and electromagnetic radiation across a broad range of wavelengths. The combination is expected to yield crucial information on the mechanisms energizing the most powerful astrophysical sources. That the production of neutrinos is accompanied by electromagnetic radiation from the source favors the chances of a multiwavelength identification. In particular, a measured association of high-energy neutrinos with a flaring source of γ-rays would elucidate the mechanisms and conditions for acceleration of the highest-energy cosmic rays. The discovery of an extraterrestrial diffuse flux of high-energy neutrinos, announced by IceCube in 2013, has characteristic properties that hint at contributions from extragalactic sources, although the individual sources remain as yet unidentified. Continuously monitoring the entire sky for astrophysical neutrinos, IceCube provides real-time triggers for observatories around the world measuring γ-rays, x-rays, optical, radio, and gravitational waves, allowing for the potential identification of even rapidly fading sources. RESULTS A high-energy neutrino-induced muon track was detected on 22 September 2017, automatically generating an alert that was distributed worldwide within 1 min of detection and prompted follow-up searches by telescopes over a broad range of wavelengths. On 28 September 2017, the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration reported that the direction of the neutrino was coincident with a cataloged γ-ray source, 0.1° from the neutrino direction. The source, a blazar known as TXS 0506+056 at a measured redshift of 0.34, was in a flaring state at the time with enhanced γ-ray activity in the GeV range. Follow-up observations by imaging atmospheric Cherenkov telescopes, notably the Major Atmospheric Gamma Imaging Cherenkov (MAGIC) telescopes, revealed periods where the detected γ-ray flux from the blazar reached energies up to 400 GeV. Measurements of the source have also been completed at x-ray, optical, and radio wavelengths. We have investigated models associating neutrino and γ-ray production and find that correlation of the neutrino with the flare of TXS 0506+056 is statistically significant at the level of 3 standard deviations (sigma). On the basis of the redshift of TXS 0506+056, we derive constraints for the muon-neutrino luminosity for this source and find them to be similar to the luminosity observed in γ-rays. CONCLUSION The energies of the γ-rays and the neutrino indicate that blazar jets may accelerate cosmic rays to at least several PeV. The observed association of a high-energy neutrino with a blazar during a period of enhanced γ-ray emission suggests that blazars may indeed be one of the long-sought sources of very-high-energy cosmic rays, and hence responsible for a sizable fraction of the cosmic neutrino flux observed by IceCube.

Abstract

The Sunshine Farm, in central Kansas, offers a unique data set detailing all the inputs and outputs of a farming project intended to be based, as much as possible, on solar energy. Such a complete and detailed data set, encompassing more than 1.25 M data points for an 85-ha, 7-year project, has never before been compiled for any farm. The data show that important energy inputs that have thus far been left out of existing farm energy efficiency estimates, with implications for biofuels and other biomass for energy technologies. The SSF achieved energy efficiencies superior to conventional agriculture while maintaining soil health and delivering more nutritious, organic products. A first-ever analysis of the energy efficiency of horse traction shows that horses are significantly less energy efficient and much less labor efficient than tractors, although the horses in the study were clearly underutilized. Abstract

Recapitulation of the resonance condition for the fundamental and higher electron cyclotron harmonics in the electron cyclotron maser instability (ECMI) enables radiation below and confirms the possibility of radiation in a narrow band above harmonics n > 1. Near n = 1 resonance on the confined lower X-mode branch, amplification is supported by the decrease in phase and group speeds. Confined slow large-amplitude quasi-electrostatic X-modes non-linearly modulate the plasma to form cavitons until self-trapped inside them at a further increasing wavenumber. They undergo wave–wave interaction, enabling escape into free space in the second harmonic band below n = 2. At a sufficiently large parallel wavenumber (oblique propagation), the fundamental resonance n = 1 is hyperbolic, a possibility so far missed but vital for an effective ECMI in the upward current region. Here, the resonance hyperbola favorably fits the loss-cone boundary, the presumably important ECMI upward-current source-electron distribution, to stimulate ECMI growth at available auroral electron energies.

The chemo- and stereoselective aspects of the rhodium-catalyzed (m+n+o) carbocyclization reactions of carbon and heteroatom tethered 1,6-enynes with dienes and alkynes are described. The inter- and intramolecular rhodium-catalyzed (4+2+2) carbocyclization reactions provide a convenient and highly diastereoselective approach to bicyclooctanoids, in which the intramolecular version utilizing a temporary silicon-tether circumvents the issues of poor selectivity and reactivity with substituted dienes. The crossed intermolecular rhodium-catalyzed (2+2+2) carbocyclization reaction provides a convenient approach to bicyclohexadienes, in which the regio- and enantioselective variant addresses the challenges with the regiochemical incorporation of unsymmetrical alkynes.

Abstract

DNA mismatch repair (MMR) is essential for the maintenance of replication fidelity. Its major task is to recognize mismatches as well as insertion/deletion loops of newly synthesized DNA strands. Although different players of human MMR have been identified, the regulation of essential steps of MMR is poorly understood. Because MMR is initiated in the nucleus, nuclear import might be a mechanism to regulate MMR. Nuclear targeting is accomplished by conserved signal sequences called nuclear localization signals (NLS), which represent clusters of positively charged amino acids (aa). hMLH1 contains two clusters of positively charged amino acids, which are candidate NLS sequences (aa 469-472 and 496-499), while hPMS2 contains one (aa 574-580). To study the effect of these clusters on nuclear import, NLS mutants of hMLH1 and hPMS2 were generated and expressed in 293T cells. The subcellular localization of the mutant constructs was monitored by confocal laser microscopy. We demonstrated that missense mutations of two signal sequences, one in hMLH1 and one in hPMS2, lead to impaired nuclear import, which was especially prominent for mutants of the hMLH1 residues K471 and R472; and hPMS2 residues K577 and R578.

A unified skin dose limit of 0.5 Sv at a depth of 70 μm averaged over the highest 10 cm 2 of skin exposed was evaluated to replace the existing limit of 0.5 Sv averaged over 1 cm 2 . This limit would apply to all exposures including non-uniform exposures such as from hot particles on or off skin, skin contamination, or beams of charged particles or photons. The probabilities and severity of both stochastic and deterministic risks were estimated for a wide range of worst-case exposure scenarios using published radiobiological data and calculations of radial- and depth-dose distributions. The crystal structures of two enantiotropic polymorphs of the aza-steroid finasteride (N-(1-1-di-methylethyl)-3-oxo-4-aza-5 alpha-and rost-1-ene-17 beta-carboxam ide ) have been determined. The solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, infrared spectra, and physical property data of these two polymorphs are discussed in relation to both their solid-state structures and hydrogen-bonding networks.

Abstract

Out of the two Venus flybys that BepiColombo uses as a gravity assist manoeuvre to finally arrive at Mercury, the first took place on 15 October 2020. After passing the bow shock, the spacecraft travelled along the induced magnetotail, crossing it mainly in the YVSO direction. In this paper, the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter Magnetometer (MPO-MAG) data are discussed, with support from three other plasma instruments: the Planetary Ion Camera (SERENA-PICAM) of the SERENA suite, the Mercury Electron Analyser (MEA), and the BepiColombo Radiation Monitor (BERM). Behind the bow shock crossing, the magnetic field showed a draping pattern consistent with field lines connected to the interplanetary magnetic field wrapping around the planet. This flyby showed a highly active magnetotail, with e.g. strong flapping motions at a period of ∼7 min. This activity was driven by solar wind conditions. Just before this flyby, Venus's induced magnetosphere was impacted by a stealth coronal mass ejection, of which the trailing side was still interacting with it during the flyby. This flyby is a unique opportunity to study the full length and structure of the induced magnetotail of Venus, indicating that the tail was most likely still present at about 48 Venus radii.

Abstract

The term wasting refers to a clinical sign used to describe a physical condition characterized by growth retardation, usually of multifactorial origin. The objective of the present study was to describe for the first time a pathological process characterized by forebrain neuropil vacuolization in pigs showing wasting without conspicuous neurological signs. To characterize the lesions pathologically, affected and non-affected pigs from eight of these farms were investigated. Histologically, the most consistent lesion was neuropil vacuolization of the prosencephalon, mainly located in the thalamic nuclei and in the transition between the white and grey matter of the neocortex (40/56 in sick and 4/30 in healthy pigs). In the most severe cases, the vacuolation also involved the midbrain, cerebellar nuclei and, to a lesser extent, the medulla oblongata. Vacuolization of the forebrain was associated with pigs experiencing marked emaciation and growth retardation. Although the specific cause of the present case remained unknown, the preventive use of multivitamin and mineral complexes in drinking water ameliorated the condition, strongly suggesting a metabolic origin of the observed condition.

Abstract

Carbon nanotubes are promising electron emitters because of their sharp geometries that lead to significant external field enhancement, as well as their mechanical strength. However, distinguishing the emission due to an individual single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) from that due to surrounding structures is a challenge. Here, we demonstrate how a scanning electron microscope (SEM) can be used to view the emission from individual SWCNTs by applying an external field close to the onset of field-emission and then scanning the tube with the electron beam of the SEM. The stimulated emission is revealed in the SEM image as localized bright spots.

There are several cases, where manipulation or inspection tasks have to be performed in dangerous environment. In order to avoid impacts on human health, machines are preferred to be used for those tasks. Very often the environment is characterised by considerable extensions. Thus the machines have to be mobile in order to have a sufficiently wide range of action. However, even machines are not perfectly insensitive to bad environmental impacts like temperature, dirt, moisture, or radiation. This article describes possibilities of reliability and safety assessment and optimisation of mobile systems.

Abstract

The magnetosheath is defined as the plasma region between the bow shock, where the super-magnetosonic solar wind plasma is decelerated and heated, and the outer boundary of the intrinsic planetary magnetic field, the so-called magnetopause. Based on the Soucek–Escoubet magnetosheath flow model at the Earth, we present an analytical magnetosheath plasma flow model around Mercury. The model can be used to estimate the plasma flow magnitude and direction at any given point in the magnetosheath exclusively on the basis of the plasma parameters of the upstream solar wind. The model serves as a useful tool to trace the magnetosheath plasma along the streamline both in a forward sense (away from the shock) and a backward sense (toward the shock), offering the opportunity of studying the growth or damping rate of a particular wave mode or evolution of turbulence energy spectra along the streamline in view of upcoming arrival of BepiColombo at Mercury.

Abstract

Abstract Rift Valley fever phlebovirus (RVFV, Phenuiviridae) is an emerging arbovirus that can cause potentially fatal disease in many host species including ruminants and humans. Thus, tools to detect this pathogen within tissue samples from routine diagnostic investigations or for research purposes are of major interest. This study compares the immunohistological usefulness of several mono- and polyclonal antibodies against RVFV epitopes in tissue samples derived from natural hosts of epidemiologic importance (sheep), potentially virus transmitting insect species (Culex quinquefasciatus, Aedes aegypti) as well as scientific infection models (mouse, Drosophila melanogaster, C6/36 cell pellet). While the nucleoprotein was the epitope most prominently detected in mammal and mosquito tissue samples, fruit fly tissues showed expression of glycoproteins only. Antibodies against non-structural proteins exhibited single cell reactions in salivary glands of mosquitoes and the C6/36 cell pellet. However, as single antibodies exhibited a cross reactivity of varying degree in non-infected specimens, a careful interpretation of positive reactions and consideration of adequate controls remains of critical importance. The results suggest that primary antibodies directed against viral nucleoproteins and glycoproteins can facilitate RVFV detection in mammals and insects, respectively, and therefore will allow RVFV detection for diagnostic and research purposes.
