20. Relation between Pyrogenic NO2 Emissions from Wildfires in Russia and Atmospheric Blocking Events.

Abstract

Analysis of satellite and reanalysis data indicates a relationship between pyrogenic NO2 emissions and atmospheric blocking events. According to the estimates obtained for the period of 2001–2019, total NO2 emissions into the atmosphere during wildfires in Russia increase by 0.7 Mt with an increase in the integral blocking index by 10%. Against the background of the general decrease in pyrogenic NO2 emission in 2001–2019, a statistically significant increase in the NO2 emission density per unit area by 23% has been revealed. At the same time, a decrease in the total NO2 emission during wildfires is noted in relation to the corresponding emissions of carbon monoxide and fine aerosol. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The method of satellite monitoring of seismically hazardous areas based on a complex analysis of earthquake precursors is described. The proposed method was tested on the example of the August 2016 Central Italy earthquake. It was carried out by spatiotemporal analysis of the data of multi-year satellite monitoring for a complex of thermal and ionospheric parameters in seismically hazardous regions. The AIRS/Aqua Level 3 daily data (AIRS3STD) with the values of outgoing long-wave radiation (OLR), surface temperature (SST), and surface air temperature (SAT) were used to detect thermal precursors. Data were processed for the time period from 01.08.2016 to 01.09.2016, as well as data for previous years (from 2003 to 2015). Variations of total electron content (TEC) obtained from the GPS satellite navigation system by the ground stations AQUI, BELL, BZRG, IENG, MATE, NOT1, SOFI and unpg for the period from 01.08.2016 to 31.08.2016 were used for detection of ionospheric precursors. 25. Morphofunctional status of erythrocytes in cervical cancer patients after femtosecond laser radiation exposure

Abstract

The aim of investigation was morphofunctional assessment of peripheral erythrocytes in cervical cancer patients (Ib–IIa stage) after femtosecond laser radiation exposure with different energy density. Materials and Methods. We assessed membrane cytoarchitectonics, rigidity and the parameters of “lipid peroxidation–antioxidants” system using scanning probe microscopy and biochemistry. Femtosecond laser radiation with wavelength of 1.55 μm at dose from 0.10 to 2.7 J/cm2 was used. Results. Femtosecond laser radiation in donors’ erythrocytes at specified doses was found to have no effect on the parameters of “lipid peroxidation–antioxidants” system, but dose-dependently it causes their reversible (echinocytes) and irreversible (spherocytes) transformation on the background of membrane rigidity increase. Malondialdehyde level in unchanged activity of antioxidant system enzymes increases significantly in erythrocytes of cervical cancer at Ib–IIa stage under exposure dose of 0.96–2.7 J/cm2 that can indicate an oxidative stress formation. In this respect, these doses of femtosecond laser radiation are not recommended for Ib–IIa stage cervical cancer patients.
