The article presents the results of the research of employees’ labor motivation, who work in social welfare system. The issues of the existing personnel policy and the degree of its effectiveness are considered in order to attract highly qualified specialists to this particular working area. The study was conducted in 2016 in social service organizations, located in Belgorod region (Russia). At the preparatory stage of the research, the analysis of federal and regional law, as well as the internal documents of social service organizations, regulating the employment issues was carried out, which makes it possible to reveal the declared principles for this employment cluster. At the next stage, a questionnaire was developed to interview employees, working in social service organizations. The sample was based on the proportional selection of respondents by districts, types of organizations, gender and age. As a result, four key clusters of employee motivation were identified: (1) professional career and self-realization (only 20% of respondents have this type of labor motivation, the majority of them are young people with an experience of up to 5 years); (2) the stability of employment and the guarantee of wage (about 50% of respondents, whose professional experience is more than 10 years, work in social welfare system mainly because of low but stable wages and guaranteed social package); (3) motivation of temporary employment (15% of respondents are not focused on long-term employment in social sphere, some of them either use the current job to get the working experience, or the rest of others waits to leave for a new and more desirable place of work); (4) motivation to maintain comfort (this cluster includes about 15% of people who are going to retire soon and prefer comfortable working conditions as well as have the permanent place of work prior the retirement).

The purpose of the research is to study the business ethics of a leader of non-government organization that provides the assistance to needed children. The study is conducted in Belgorod region (Russia) in May – June 2016. The targeted sample includes formal and informal leaders (n = 281) from 52 NGOs which provide services for children in needs. The main method of the research is a structured interview with formal and informal leaders of NGOs, located in Belgorod region. Currently, the total number of non-profit organizations in Belgorod region is 2141, but only 52 of them have been supported by the government. The results of the research has showed the following: first of all, most of the official leaders of non-profit organizations are people aged 40 years and older while the age of most informal leaders of NGOs is around 60. Secondly, 80% of regular employees of non-profit organizations have been familiar with their colleagues before they start working together; in most cases the person who is the initiator of the creation of the NGO, then has become its leader. Thirdly, the majority of regional non-profit organizations are relatively closed; more than 20 % of respondents indicate that they work together with their relatives, and the rest of the employees are people who fully share the moral and corporative values of the organization. Fourthly, on the one hand informal interpersonal relationships between employees promote trust and mutual assistance, reduce barriers in communication process, but on the other hand they reduce the development of the organization, prevent NGOs from the search for new ideas and resources. Fifthly, the main conditions that are allowed non-profit organizations to achieve their goals are an authoritative leader (70 %), his/her personal and professional experience (68 %), as well as a well-established reputation in professional sphere based on the business etiquette (62 %).

When studying the harmful effects of chemical air pollutants of anthropogenic origin on forest ecosystems and, specifically, on woody plants, an important indicator is the state of the tree crown - the degree of defoliation. To determine the degree of air pollution in the Main Botanical Garden named after N. V. Tsitsin RAS (Moscow) over the course of several years determined the defoliation class of common oak (Quercus robur L.), as a tree species that is especially sensitive to the effects of air pollutants. During the observation period (2016 - 2023), defoliation in oak was practically absent or was insignificant, therefore, it can be concluded that the Main Botanical Garden lacks severe atmospheric air pollution.

Intelligent systems represent a new direction in the electrical power industry, and training students in this area requires appropriate updating of curricula and laboratory equipment. In this regard, it is necessary to create educational and research complexes in special disciplines to train specialists in intelligent electric power systems. This article presents an educational and research laboratory complex with elements of artificial intelligence for diagnosing the technical condition of equipment in electric power complexes. A free version of the IDE was used as an integrated development environment, which provides the basic functions and tools necessary for developing and debugging Python projects. The software part of the complex has been developed, including a digital twin of the laboratory installation, an executive part and a neural network model.

In the laboratory of cultivated plants of the Main Botanical Garden named after N. V. Tsitsin studied the laboratory germinaton of yarrow seeds under various germinaton modes (temperature, lighting, period of storage) and field germinaton at the autumn and spring sowing.

The COVID-19 pandemic has uncovered the high genetic variability of the SARSCoV-2 virus and its ability to evade the immune responses that were induced by earlier viral variants. Only a few monoclonal antibodies that have been reported to date are capable of neutralizing a broad spectrum of SARS-CoV-2 variants. Here, we report the isolation of a new broadly neutralizing human monoclonal antibody, iC1. The antibody was identified through sorting the SARS-CoV-1 RBD-stained individual B cells that were isolated from the blood of a vaccinated donor following a breakthrough infection. In vitro, iC1 potently neutralizes pseudoviruses expressing a wide range of SARS-CoV-2 Spike variants, including those of the XBB sublineage. In an hACE2-transgenic mouse model, iC1 provided effective protection against the Wuhan strain of the virus as well as the BA.5 and XBB.1.5 variants. Therefore, iC1 can be considered as a potential component of the broadly neutralizing antibody cocktails resisting the SARS-CoV-2 mutation escape. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The direct two‐step synthesis of new coordination polymer [Co2(pyz)(tfa)2(dmf)6(H2O)][Co3(μ3‐F)(tfa)6(pyz)(dmf)]2 ⋅ 2dmf, (where pyz=pyrazine, Htfa=trifluoroacetic acid, dmf=dimethyl formamide) containing the fluoro‐centered secondary building block [Co3(μ3‐F)(tfa)6], is reported. The substance characterization using single‐crystal XRD, powder XRD, IR‐spectroscopy and thermogravimetry was performed. SCXRD data revealed the presence of cationic and anionic subsystems, both containing cobalt(II) ions and pyrazine bridging ligands. The magnetic proper‐ties of the compound were collected and discussed. Temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility shows Curie–Weiss like behavior at all studied temperatures. The phenomenon of discontinuous shear thickening (DST) is observed in suspensions of solid particles with a very high-volume fraction. It is characterized by an abrupt decrease in the shear rate for critical stress during a ramp of stress. This behavior can be reproduced in numerical simulations by introducing a local friction between two particles above a given local force. We present experimental results showing this DST behavior obtained with suspensions of magnetic (iron) and nonmagnetic (calcium carbonate) particles and different amounts of a superplasticizer molecule used in the cement industry. For both types of particles, the same behavior was observed with first an increase in critical stress with the amount of plasticizer followed by a decrease at higher concentrations but with a larger viscosity before critical stress was reached. At a low concentration of plasticizer, the low critical stress is interpreted by the local sliding of plasticizer molecules on the surface of particles. At higher concentrations, when total coverage is achieved, the critical stress is higher since it has to remove the molecules out of the surface. At still higher concentrations, the increase in viscosity is explained by the formation of multilayers of molecules on the surface of the particles. This interpretation is supported by the measurement of the adsorption isotherm of the plasticizer on the surface of the particles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The exposition "History of cultivated plants of Russia" was formed in 1960 on the six plots 0,6 ha total area in the Main Botanical Garden n.a. N.V. Tsitsin of the Academy of Sciences to demonstrate the history of domestic plant growing on live plants. The plants introduction process has been demonstrated based on six historical periods since ancient times up to this day. The peculiarity of this exposition is that about half of the collection are annual plants that require annual sowing.

Some results of laboratory germination of Lily of the valley seeds in the laboratory of cultivated plants of the Main Botanical Garden named after N.V.Tsitsin are observed. Different various germination modes (temperature, lighting, period of storage) and field germination at the autumn and spring sowing were studied.
