During 2017-2023, about 150 soil samples were collected from vineyards and lands planned for planting grapevines located in the Central, South-western and South-eastern areas of Crimea. As a result of this work, 29 species of plant-parasitic nematodes from 9 families were found. The study of the relative abundance of populations of plant-parasitic nematodes in the soils in abandoned fruit and grape agroecosystems and in fields with the cultivation of cereals was also carried out.

Eco-oriented organic and biodynamic vineyards no longer relying on pesticides in protection schemes are indicative of a current trend in grape and wine growing of the Crimea. In this connection, new solutions to reduce pests and diseases have to be sought for, and monitoring which includes both eco-faunistic research and prediction of the numbers of phytophages is becoming of primary importance in the system of control of injurious species on grapes. A wide distribution of grape erineum mite Colomerus vitis Pgst. was registered in the bearing study vineyards on the South Coast of the Crimea and in the south-west of the Peninsula though its economic damage is negligible. The risk of the detrimental effect of the mite in the young study vineyards during the first two years after planting was stated. Key mechanisms to regulate the numbers of C. vitis in the organic and biodynamic study vineyards were revealed, such as winter pruning of canes as part of farming practices, application of sulfur to control Erysiphe necator, and natural regulation by indigenous predatory species of mites and other insects.

During 2016-2020, about 120 soil samples were collected from the rhizosphere of grapes in different vineyards of the Central and Southern regions of Crimea. Two morphologically close nematode species, Helicotylenchus digonicus and Helicotylenchus vulgaris, were found at all sampling sites in the Yalta, Sevastopol, Simferopol and Bakhchisarai districts. Morphologically, these species could be differentiated by the stylet length and the shape of tails. In addition, these species have significant differences in sequences of the D2-D3 expansion segments of the 28S rRNA.

Viral infections cause the reduction of yields and efficiency of vine cultivation in all viticultural regions of the world. Simultaneous infecting with several viruses, the so-called mixed infection, can significantly increase the severity of symptoms. The article presents the results of study of mixed infecting of grapevine with viruses in the vineyards of the Crimean Peninsula during 2011-2020. More than 800 grapevine samples of 153 varieties selected in 23 vineyards of the Crimea were analyzed over the entire period of study. Presence of phytopathogenic viruses in the samples was determined by RT-PCR using virus specific primers. The share of 25.5 % of all the samples tested gave positive result for one or more of the following viruses: GFLV, GLRaV-1, GLRV-2, GLRaV-3, GFkV, GVA, GRSPaV, ArMV, GFLV. During the process of studyno vines affected by GVB virus were identified. Single-agent infection was found in 20% of the examined vines. The amount of vines affected by mixed infection was 5.48 % of all tested. In a mixed viral infection more common combinations are: GRSPaV/GFkV; GVA/GRSPaV; GVA/GLRaV-1/GRSPaV; GVA/GLRaV-3/GRSPaV. Vines were infected the most with GRSPaV and GFkV viruses, which is visually manifested in the form of mosaic leaf variegation, leaf chlorosis and the appearance of necrotic spots.
