Context: Hypertension is highly prevalent in Vietnam, yet the rate of controlled hypertension remains low. Knowledge about hypertension is linked to patient beliefs and medication adherence. However, there's limited data on hypertension knowledge among primary care patients in Vietnam. Aims: To evaluate the knowledge of hypertension among hypertensive patients in primary care settings in Central Vietnam and identify factors affecting their knowledge. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted, and a thorough examination was performed to assess hypertension knowledge and its related factors. Utilizing the Hypertension Knowledge Level Scale and Medication Adherence Report Scale, hypertension knowledge and medication adherence were evaluated. Additionally, demographic, clinical, lifestyle, and patient belief data were gathered. Statistical analyses and logistic regression models were applied to pinpoint key factors associated with hypertension knowledge. Results: In the study involving 761 participants (55.7% male), the average hypertension knowledge score was 15.0 (SD = 4.6), with only 45.3% demonstrating a high level of knowledge. Significant correlations were observed between hypertension knowledge and variables such as education level, ethnicity, home blood pressure monitoring, patient beliefs, and medication adherence. Logistic regression analysis indicated that higher education levels and belonging to the majority ethnicity were linked to enhanced hypertension knowledge. Notably, individuals with better hypertension knowledge tended to recognize the necessity of their prescribed medications. Conclusions: Hypertension knowledge among primary care patients in Central Vietnam is suboptimal, with approximately half having a high knowledge level. These findings emphasize the importance of hypertension knowledge in shaping patient beliefs, perceptions, and medication adherence. Tailored educational interventions are crucial, especially for those with lower education and minority backgrounds, to enhance hypertension management.

Đánh giá vòng đời (LCA) ngày càng được sử dụng rộng rãi và khá phổ biến trên thế giới nhưng vẫn còn mới mẻ ở nước ta, đặc biệt là LCA cho hệ thống nước. Nghiên cứu này đã tổng hợp 12 tài liệu LCA đã qua chọn lọc liên quan đến ít nhất một bộ phận của hệ thống nước. Nghiên cứu đã sử dụng kết hợp các phương pháp thu thập chọn lọc tài liệu, tổng hợp thống kê, phân tích đánh giá,… để so sánh và đưa ra dữ liệu định lượng từ các công bố về tác động môi trường của hệ thống nước và các kịch bản dự báo của chúng. Kết quả cho thấy, tỷ lệ tiêu thụ điện (kWh/m3) của xử lý nước sạch là cao nhất (51%). Việc sử dụng hóa chất, điện năng liên quan đến các tác động về nóng lên toàn cầu, phú dưỡng, axit hóa,… Nghiên cứu còn đưa ra các kiến nghị thúc đẩy các nghiên cứu LCA hơn đặc biệt là cho hệ thống nước tại Việt Nam.

Nghiên cứu hiện trạng kỹ thuật và tài chính của mô hình nuôi tôm thẻ chân trắng siêu thâm canh trên bể nổi lót bạt nhằm cung cấp thông tin góp phần cải thiện hiệu quả sản xuất của mô hình nuôi. Nghiên cứu được thực hiện thông qua phỏng vấn trực tiếp 60 hộ tại Cà Mau từ tháng 02 đến tháng 10 năm 2023. Vietnamese balm (Elsholtzia ciliata (Thunb.) Hyland) (E. ciliata) is known as an aromatic herb and a valuable remedy in oriental medicine thanks to the essential oil contained in the leaves. In plant life, plant growth regulators play an important role in the growth and accumulation of essential oils. This article investigates the effect of gibberellic acid (GA3) on the growth and essential oil accumulation of E. ciliata at the 4-week-old plant stage based on a randomised complete block design with 3 replications. The results showed that the effect of GA3 (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 ppm) on growth parameters of E. ciliata. GA3 increases plant height, leaf length, leaf width, whole plant fresh weight, dry weight, nitrate content, and essential oil percentage significantly (p≤0.05). With an increasing amount of GA3, all of these parameters increased significantly compared to the control. The treatment with 10 ppm GA3 resulted in the highest plant height, leaf length, leaf width, and production of fresh weight, dry weights, nitrate content, and more than the control. The highest essential oil yield (1.41%) was obtained by applying 10 ppm GA3. The results of this study showed that the quantitative and qualitative yield of Vietnamese balm could be increased by treatment with an appropriate amount of gibberellic acid.

Xử lý chất thải rắn thông qua viên nén nhiên liệu RDF cho phép thu hồi triệt để tài nguyên, nâng cao hiệu suất chuyển hóa năng lượng và giảm phát thải ô nhiễm môi trường. Mô phỏng quá trình cháy của viên RDF trong khí quyển cung cấp các thông tin cần thiết để thực hiện mô phỏng quá trình tạo syngas trong lò khí hóa. Khi hệ số không khí dư ER tăng thì nhiệt độ cực đại của ngọn lửa tăng. Nhiệt độ cực đại đạt 1110K, 1154K, 1227K và 1338K lần lượt tương ứng với ER 0,3; 0,45; 0,65 và 0,95. Khi ER giảm thì nồng độ các chất CO, CH4, H2 tăng lên dẫn đến tăng nhiệt trị syngas Qsyn. Khi ER=0,32 thì Qsyn thu được từ quá trình cháy RDF-Trấu, RDF-Chất thải rắn và RDF-Gỗ vụn lần lượt là 5,3; 5,5 và 5,9 MJ/kg.

Trong bối cảnh gia tăng về kiến thức và yêu cầu kĩ năng ngoại ngữ ở xã hội phát triển, người học đã và đang sử dụng các công cụ trí tuệ nhân tạo (AI) hỗ trợ quá trình tự học ngoại ngữ với mong muốn đạt kết quả tốt hơn. Bài báo nhằm mục đích khảo sát sự ảnh hưởng của công cụ AI đối với quá trình tự học tiếng Anh của sinh viên (SV) ngành Ngôn ngữ Anh. Phương pháp định tính, định lượng, và thông tin phiếu khảo sát được sử dụng cùng với sự hỗ trợ của phần mền SPSS để xử lý dữ liệu. Đối tượng tham gia khảo sát gồm 75 SV ngành Ngôn ngữ Anh, Trường Đại học Ngoại ngữ - Đại học Đà Nẵng. Kết quả cho thấy tất cả SV đều thừa nhận sự ảnh hưởng tích cực của công cụ AI đối với quá trình tự học tiếng Anh của họ. Từ đó, một số công cụ AI cụ thể để hỗ trợ sinh viên ứng dụng vào việc tự học tiếng Anh một cách có hiệu quả được đề xuất.

Lantana camara (L.) and Wedelia trilobata (L.) are wild and strong invasive plants. The aims of this study are to screen phytochemical profiles and evaluate the allelopathic ability of crude extracts on Echinochloa crus-galli (L.), Lactuca sativa (L.) and Raphanus sativus (L.) seed germination in vitro condition. The results showed that, two ethanol crude extracts revealed the high presence of the chemical compositions such as phenolic, flavonoid và alkaloid. The W. trilobata (L.) extract inhibited seed germination higher than the L. camara (L.) leaves extract. At the concentration of 5 mg/mL, the crude extract from W. trilobata (L.) showed inhibition on seed germination of E. crus-galli (L.), L. sativa (L.), and R. sativus (L.) with 84.83%, 82.59%, and 96.57%, respectively. Therefore, W. trilobata could be seen as a potential plant for research on allelochemicals.

Currently, the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the industrial sector to improve the productivity and efficiency of industrial processes is no longer unfamiliar. However, for a wireless control system to operate reliably and stably even without the Internet, additional issues regarding energy and alternative control options need to be addressed. In this article, the authors have investigated the application of Bluetooth Mesh networks in industrial production systems. In a manufacturing facility, Bluetooth devices are installed on machinery and can exchange data with each other through a gateway device that serves as a data receiver for the Bluetooth devices. Additionally, the system can be remotely monitored and controlled through a Web server. Implementing this system in production enables industrial companies to digitize processes, transform business models, and enhance performance and productivity.

Abstract The Araliaceae contain many valuable species in medicinal and industrial aspects. We performed intensive phylogenomics using the plastid genome (plastome) and 45S nuclear ribosomal DNA sequences. A total of 66 plastome sequences were used, 13 of which were newly assembled in this study, 12 from new sequences, and one from existing data. While Araliaceae plastomes showed conserved genome structure, phylogenetic reconstructions based on four different plastome datasets revealed phylogenetic discordance within the Asian Palmate group. The divergence time estimation revealed that splits in two Araliaceae subfamilies and the clades exhibiting phylogenetic discordances in the Asian Palmate group occurred at two climatic optima, suggesting that global warming events triggered species divergence, particularly the rapid diversification of the Asian Palmate group during the Middle Miocene. Nucleotide substitution analyses indicated that the Hydrocotyloideae plastomes have undergone accelerated AT-biased mutations (C-to-T transitions) compared with the Aralioideae plastomes, and the acceleration may occur in their mitochondrial and nuclear genomes as well. This implies that members of the genus Hydrocotyle, the only aquatic plants in the Araliaceae, have experienced a distinct evolutionary history from the other species. We also discussed the intercontinental disjunction in the genus Panax and proposed a hypothesis to complement the previously proposed hypothesis. Our results provide the evolutionary trajectory of Araliaceae and advance our current understanding of the evolution of Araliaceae species.

Objective: This study aims to assess the level of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy among Vietnamese adults and examine the relationship between social media use and vaccine hesitancy. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted from July 26 to August 10, 2021, using an online survey of 702 Vietnamese adults. The Oxford COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy scale was used to measure vaccine hesitancy. A linear regression model was used to analyze the factors associated with vaccine hesitancy. Results: Our study found that 15.1% of respondents were hesitant about receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, with an average hesitancy score of 9.52±2.66. Students and the unemployed had higher levels of hesitancy (B=0.58; 95%CI=0.02-1.15; p=0.043 and B=1.59; 95%CI=0.41-2.76, p=0.008, respectively. Hesitancy was also significantly associated with receiving positive information from social media (Facebook, Zalo) (B=-0.31; 95%CI=0.5 to -0.12; p=0.001) and trust in social media information (B=-0.45; 95%CI=-0.72 to -0.19; p=0.001). Conclusion: The results of this study highlight the need for targeted interventions to address vaccine hesitancy among Vietnamese people, particularly in the context of the shortage of vaccines and low public trust in 2021 and its practical evidence for future preparation in emerging pandemics.
