A heat exchanger is used in different applications like cooling or heating of a fluid stream of single or multi component fluid streams. Air-conditioning, chemical plants, petrochemical plants etc. It is utilized to move thermal energy (enthalpy) between minimum of two fluids, between a solid body and a fluid, at numerous temperatures in heat interaction. There are typically no external heat and work connections. Heat transfer should be possible in sequences of action in fluids, liquid to gas. Heat exchangers are used to reheat a cold fluid, cool a hot fluid, or combine the two. In this paper design the spiral plate heat exchanger and tested with fluid is water and MATLAB code is written for spiral plate heat exchanger according to our design point of view and compare different fluids i.e water and unused engine oil and graph is generated for effectiveness Vs Mass flow rate of cold fluid. Initially, the German scientist, Rudolf Christian Karl Diesel has run the engine with vegetable oil. Further engines are developed with diesel as fuel. But now a days due to different factors again vegetable oil come into the topic. The factors may be scarcity of fuel, hike of fuel prices and diseases due to pollution etc., However the pure vegetable oil doesn't suitable for the current engines that's why we have to blend the vegetable oil with diesel. By using these blends, experiment can do without any modifications of the engines. This research was done the annona squamosa (Custard apple) seed oil blends with different proportions, named as ASME10, ASME20, ASME30, ASME40. Among them ASME20 showed better results at peak conditions in performance and emission point of view. It showed brake thermal efficiency as 32.88% and NOX emission was 1091ppm which less quantity as comparing with other tested fuels in the investigation. Therefore, the Annona squamosa biodiesel blend ASME20 is recommended for the future diesel engine applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
