Nesidiocoris tenuis (Reuter) is an important omnivorous insect in tobacco fields. It is of practical scientific significance to regulate the population of N. tenuis by employing insect lure strategies with specific light spectra. In this study, the phototactic behavior of N. tenuis adults and nymphs to 15 kinds of monochromatic lights was examined. N. tenuis adults have a higher response rate and a longer displacement to different light spectra and different light intensities compared with nymphs. N. tenuis adults were more attractived by monochromatic lights at 628, 504, 568 and 589 nm among the 15 monochromatic lights. While N. tenuis nymphs were more attractived by monochromatic lights at 628, 549 and 577 nm, and there was no significant difference between the nymphs' response displacements to monochromatic lights except for red light at 628 nm and darkness treatments. The light intensity significantly affected the phototactic behavior of N. tenuis adults but not nymphs. These results suggested that insect traps with a red light at 628 nm, blue-green light at 504 nm, yellow-green light at 568 nm and yellow-green light at 589 nm can be used to monitor and regulate N. tenuis population. Visual control is a control method that utilizes visual information for environmental and self-state awareness. In this paper, this technology was applied to control undersea vehicles, and relevant research progress, challenges, and trends in different application scenarios were analyzed. The current development and task scenarios of visual control technology for undersea vehicles were first introduced, mainly focusing on underwater image enhancement, target recognition, and pose estimation technologies. The current development of visual control technology for undersea vehicles was then summarized and analyzed based on three task scenarios: underwater visual dynamic positioning and target tracking, undersea vehicle docking, and underwater operational tasks such as target grasping. Finally, the challenges and development trends of visual control technology for undersea vehicles were outlined.

Gas at the metallurgical plant is distributed through gas control points. To date, on the territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, the absence of a unified approved methodology for visual and measuring quality control of gas control points has been revealed. Mobile robots have emerged as versatile substitutes for human labor across diverse domains, offering promising applications in surveillance, healthcare, and beyond. Fundamental to their autonomy are the core capabilities of movement, perception, cognition, and navigation. This research introduces a novel approach known as the Dual PID based low-cost navigation system (DPLNS), designed specifically for indoor warehouse-like environments. The primary objective of this technique is to enable seamless point-to-point traversal. This is achieved through a fusion of gyroscope correction and visual PID control mechanisms. Leveraging a strategically positioned eagle-eye perspective camera, the system gained crucial insights for navigation. To ensure the uninterrupted execution of planned trajectories, the system employs the Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (MQTT) protocol. This technology ensures smooth communication and coordination of actions. The experimental validation of the proposed strategy highlights its efficacy, positioning it as a promising solution for modern warehouse automation needs. By advancing the capabilities of mobile robots within warehouse contexts, this research not only addresses immediate operational demands, but also paves the way for broader applications across various other fields. The developed system enables robust detection and successful path traversal to the designated spot through a position control operating at average of 12.3 rad/s.

Visual servoing systems may suffer from interference by system noise when a Kalman filter is used to obtain a Jacobian matrix. Such interference may result in slow and poor convergence performance of the servoing system. To overcome these problems, we propose a mixed-kernel online sequential extreme learning machine (MIXEDKOSELM) with Kalman filter, which corrects the error of Kalman filtering algorithm, thus improving the accuracy of the image-based visual servoing (IBVS) system significantly. The proposed KF-MIXEDKOSELM-IBVS does not require the camera parameters in the servoing process, and it is highly robust to disturbance and noise statistical errors. The proposed KF-MIXEDKOSELM-IBVS is validated using the PUMA 560 manipulator in the MATLAB simulation environment. The simulation results clearly reveal that the KF-MIXEDKOSELM-IBVS algorithm has excellent performance by being robust and accurate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Police officers during dynamic and stressful encounters are required to make rapid decisions that rely on effective decision-making, experience, and intuition. Tactical decision-making is influenced by the officer's capability to recognize critical visual information and estimation of threat. The purpose of the current study is to investigate how visual search patterns using cluster analysis and factors that differentiate expertise (e.g., years of service, tactical training, related experiences) influence tactical decision-making in active-duty police officers (44 active-duty police officers) during high stress, high threat, realistic use of force scenario following a car accident and to examine the relationships between visual search patterns and physiological response (heart rate). A cluster analysis of visual search variables (fixation duration, fixation location difference score, and number of fixations) produced an Efficient Scan and an Inefficient Scan group. Specifically, the Efficient Scan group demonstrated longer total fixation duration and differences in area of interests (AOI) fixation duration compared to the Inefficient Scan group. Despite both groups exhibiting a rise in physiological stress response (HR) throughout the high-stress scenario, the Efficient Scan group had a history of tactical training, improved return fire performance, had higher sleep time total, and demonstrated increased processing efficiency and effective attentional control, due to having a background of increased tactical training. This study investigates postural responses to unexpected perturbations induced by a load release of different weights. Groups of 26 men (age 22.6 ± 2.4 years, height 178.0 ± 9.1 cm, and body mass 86.9 ± 11.5 kg) and 21 women (age 21.9 ± 2.7 years, height 168.8 ± 6.8 cm, and body mass 65.3 ± 8.7 kg) underwent load-triggered postural perturbations by 1 and 2 kg while standing on a force plate with either eyes open or eyes closed. Postural perturbations induced by a heavier load, representing about 2% and 3% of body weight in men and women, respectively, led to significantly higher peak anterior and peak posterior center of pressure displacements when compared with a lighter load (29.6% and 45.4%, respectively) both with eyes open (36.9%) and closed (42.1%). Their values were significantly lower in men than women only when a higher load was used (∼25%). However, there were no significant differences in time to peak anterior and posterior center of pressure displacements. These findings indicate that heavier load-induced postural perturbations are greater in women than men regardless of visual conditions. Although tendon-driven anthropomorphic robot hands have the potential to achieve human-level dexterity, controlling them is a great challenge owing to their mechanical complexities. Therefore, investigating human-hand control strategies is of the utmost importance. An important skill that enables the versatile manipulation ability of humans is visual posturing, i.e. the skill to make arbitrary hand postures based solely on visual observation. Visual posturing facilitates manipulation learning by enabling visual imitation learning and reusing visually similar past experiences. Therefore, this study investigates a method to replicate visual posturing in anthropomorphic robotic hands. Visual posturing in tendon-driven hands is challenging because of the hysteresis in tendon systems, the partial observability of the problem, and the presence of many actuators owing to the antagonistic tendon arrangement. To address these challenges, we propose a method that combines a model predictive path integral, a world model, and bio-inspired muscle synergies. The evaluation in a physical tendon-driven anthropomorphic robot hand showed that the proposed method achieved better visual posturing performance than a naive regression model. We anticipate that our visual posturing method will lay the foundation for versatile manipulation controllers that can adaptively learn manipulation tasks, similar to humans. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background and Objectives: After major upper-limb amputation, people face challenges due to losing tactile information and gripping function in their hands. While vision can confirm the success of an action, relying on it diverts attention from other sensations and tasks. This case report presents a 30-year-old man with traumatic, complete vision loss and transradial left forearm amputation. It emphasizes the importance of restoring tactile abilities when visual compensation is impossible. Materials and Methods: A prototype tactile feedback add-on system was developed, consisting of a sensor glove and upper arm cuff with related vibration actuators. Results: We found a 66% improvement in the Box and Blocks test and an overall functional score increase from 30% to 43% in the Southampton Hand Assessment Procedure with feedback. Qualitative improvements in bimanual activities, ergonomics, and reduced reliance on the unaffected hand were observed. Incorporating the tactile feedback system improved the precision of grasping and the utility of the myoelectric hand prosthesis, freeing the unaffected hand for other tasks. Conclusions: This case demonstrated improvements in prosthetic hand utility achieved by restoring peripheral sensitivity while excluding the possibility of visual compensation. Restoring tactile information from the hand and fingers could benefit individuals with impaired vision and somatosensation, improving acceptance, embodiment, social integration, and pain management. Robotic manipulation in cluttered environments is one of the challenges roboticists are currently facing. When the objects to handle are delicate fresh fruits, grasping is even more challenging. Detecting and localizing fruits with the accuracy necessary to grasp them is very difficult due to the large variability in the aspect and dimensions of each item. This paper proposes a solution that exploits a state-of-the-art neural network and a novel enhanced 6D pose estimation method that integrates the depth map with the neural network output. Even with an accurate localization, grasping fruits with a suitable force to avoid slippage and damage at the same time is another challenge. This work solves this issue by resorting to a grasp controller based on tactile sensing. Depending on the specific application scenario, grasping a fruit might be impossible without colliding with other objects or other fruits. Therefore, a non-prehensile manipulation action is here proposed to push items hindering the grasp of a detected fruit. The pushing from an initial location to a target one is performed by a model predictive controller taking into account the unavoidable delay in the perception and computing pipeline of the robotic system. Experiments with real fresh fruits demonstrate that the overall proposed approach allows a robot to successfully grasp apples in various situations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Anthropoid vision contributes not only to reaching and grasping but also to the orienting of a food item during the withdraw movement to precisely place it in the mouth for eating. The evolutionary history of this visual control of feeding is not known. It likely evolved from the nonvisual control of the hand that is used with good effect for eating in many non-primate animal species. Strepsirrhines are a relatively large monophyletic group, diverging near the base of the primate cladogram, and described as using vision to reach for food. It is not known whether they use vision to orient food items during the withdraw movement. Video recordings of 7,464 withdraw movements from 22 species of captive strepsirrhines eating their normal food provisions were used to assess whether and how vision contributes to the withdraw movement. The constituent acts of withdraw movements, head orientation, body posture, ground-withdraw and inhand-withdraw, were assessed using frame-by-frame video inspection. Strepsirrhines were versatile in using their hands to get food to the mouth. They displayed variation between and within families that were weakly related to phylogenetic relationships and mainly related to feeding niches. There was no evidence that any species used vision to assist with the withdraw movement. Instead strepsirrhines used mouth reaching to take food from the hand and/or perioral contact to positioning food for biting. Our findings support two hypotheses: that visual mediation of food orienting for placement in the mouth during the withdraw movement is an anthropoid innovation, and that the evolution of the visual control of feeding was not a singular event. This study probed a psycho-motor switch between "attention" and "intention" using electroencephalography (EEG) of the occipital cortex during target versus ball focused aiming when golf putting. Specifically, we investigated (1) the pattern and power of ɑ-frequency between putting methods at 8 and 15 ft. distances and (2) the EEG activity for missed versus holed putts. Twelve highly skilled golfers executed 32 putts in total using both methods (i.e., 8 putts per condition) under naturalistic and competitive conditions. Putting performance (number of putts holed and distance from the hole) and EEG activity at −6 s, −4 s and −2 s before movement initiation were recorded. No performance difference was found for holed or missed putts between the putting methods at either distance (p > 0.05). Overall, EEG data revealed a significant time effect, with higher power at −2 s for all conditions apart from at the most challenging 15 ft. distance when using ball focused aiming, where the power decreased. For missed putts at either distance, there was twice the artefact and eye blink during ball compared to target focused aiming. Data suggest a more robust switch from attention to intention when preparing for execution with target focused aiming. Target focused aiming suggestively helps golfers to remove a potential distraction, such as from seeing the arms, hand and ball, rather than offering any distinct/different advantage to ball focused aiming. The article shows one of the factors influencing the formation of corrosion of hollow reinforced concrete structures — leakage currents in insulators. The development of corrosion depends on the amount of electricity that has passed through the reinforced concrete. A method for controlling the corrosion state by changing the color parameters on the video image of the reinforced concrete surface is proposed. A full-scale experiment is carried out on samples simulating various degrees of corrosion, as well as on a sample with an unknown level of corrosion. The images are obtained using an industrial endoscope.

In recent years, the assembly of cyanine dye supramolecular aggregates has been a very important task because its photophysical and photochemical properties are widely used in many scientific fields, such as, materials, biomedical and industrial. In this work, H‐ and J‐aggregates of cyanine dyes were constructed under controllable conditions, and a simple method was developed to achieve cycle induction around these aggregates which induced by rare earth ions, and the process can be repeated for many cycles. Assembly and circulation induce these aggregates to be easy to manipulate and identify, which can be directly observed with the naked eye. This simple supramolecular assembly provides another direction in the field of sensors, while bringing a new idea to the control of supramolecular aggregates. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Although grinding is essential in the production of castings, the casting grinding process in manufacturing is complicated and there are many difficulties, such as the large amount of noise in the grinding environment, non-structural casting entities, and the inclination in the overall shape–time variation. Even in the face of complex technology and a variety of difficulties, modern casting grinding technology still demands large-batch production, low cost, fast response, thin brittleness, high precision, etc. The grinding process has a long history. This paper focus on its development from a human-operated, mechanical job, to an automatic grinding task based on compliant control theory. However, the methods mentioned above can no longer satisfy the current production need. In recent years, researchers have proposed intelligent grinding methods to meet the needs of modern casting production, and provided various strategies and alternatives to the challenges of machining accuracy, machining efficiency, and surface consistency. The research direction of casting polishing has mainly focused on online robot detection, material removal prediction, constant grinding contact force control, and high-precision matching. Although applications for online detection and constant grinding contact force control exist in industry, there are challenges in material removal prediction and three-dimensional high-precision matching. This paper also compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of different grinding methods, and puts forward some research directions for future work, so as to promote more intelligent and efficient grinding of complex castings in practical application. Purpose: This study examined the use of nonlinear measures - sample entropy (SampEn), fractal dimension (FD), and the Lyapunov exponent (LyE) - to evaluate postural control in adults during standing on an unstable surface, with and without visual feedback. Methods: 14 healthy young adults (24.07 ± 7.32 years) completed bipedal standing trials on an unstable-plate Biodex Balance System (BBS) connected to a Vicon system, with eyes open and closed. Each trial lasted 20 sec. Analysis was performed based on the center of mass (CoM), for which the three nonlinear measures were calculated. Results: Excluding visual feedback was found to cause a significant increase in linear and nonlinear parameters. Moreover, SampEn and FD values were found to be significantly higher in the PD direction, compared to AP or ML, whereas LyE values in this direction were minimal. Conclusions: Results show that the three nonlinear measures provide a useful way of evaluating postural control in healthy adults. Moreover, it seems that introducing an unstable surface meant that the projection of the CoM was not perpendicular to the surface, but rather set at a certain continually changing angle, forcing the whole system to adapt to chaotic and unpredictable conditions. Long jump has been extensively used in the investigation of perceptionaction coupling. The restraints imposed by the tasks nested at the take-off board compel skilled long jumpers to adjust the length of the final 4-5 steps of the run-up based on visual input informing about time-to-arrival. This exploratory study examined the visual regulation parameters in athletes with intellectual impairment (II) during the approach of the long jump. The approach run of 10 elite level T20 Class long jumpers (IIJ) and 10 international level long jumpers without II (NIJ) was recorded during competition. An initial ascending variability of foot placement was observed for both groups, followed by a descending one in the late phase of the approach. The parameters associated with the onset of visual control for IIJ were found to be not statistically significantly different to those of NIJ. The mean maximum toe-board distance variability was 0.38 m and 0.27 m for IIJ and NIJ, respectively. The onset of regulation commenced at the fifth- and third-to-last step for IIJ and NIJ, respectively. The finding that IIJ adjust the last steps of the run-up with sufficient accuracy suggests the presence of visual control. The multitude of concepts and methods of management and control related to the word “visual” in the area of production and quality management may cause difficulties with their perception, proper understanding and use of these terms by researchers from various backgrounds (not necessarily related to production) and countries, including Poland. In particular, the noticed inaccuracies in the use of terms with the word “visual” concern such terms as visual: management, control, inspection, and testing, where, for example, in the Polish language the first three different terms in English are named with the same phrase, which sometimes causes some confusion. The aim of the article was an attempt to distinguish, sometimes “troublesome” definitions, to indicate the area of their application, to define possible relations between them, which is a peculiar novelty. The article is an analysis of the literature related to these concepts, systematizes the types of visual concepts and methods in the area of production and quality. It defines in what context the indicated terms should be used by researchers and what is the relationship between them, and under what conditions they can be used separately or jointly. The article is an attempt to indicating and analysis of the interrelation between concepts in which the word “visual” appears concerning production practice. Concepts visual: management, control, inspection, and testing, as the author proves in the article, they should be translated into English with due diligence, due to the differences between them. It has been shown that there is a strong relationship between type definition pairs as visual management & visual control and visual inspection & visual testing, where it is not a mistake to use them interchangeably, and cases, where all these concepts can intertwine, are also given.

Application of computed tomography and dental microscope Carl Zeiss OPMI pico in endodontics, in addition to generally used methods, allows to perform accurate diagnostics and choose the most suitable method of treatment. Careful mechanical treatment of root canals with ample irrigation with sodium hydrochloride solution with ultrasonic insonation and canal filling with thermoplastified guttapercha under visual control with the use of operating microscope allows to get predictable positive result of treatment in complicated cases.

The subject of research in the article is the use of adaptive visual control in flexible integrated robotic systems. The goal of the work is the integration of visual control facilities into automated control systems for transport and handling operations of flexible integrated production. The article solves the following tasks: analyze the application of visual control methods in robotics, consider methods for improving adaptive visual work control systems, formulate the basic requirements for adaptive visual control systems, and develop a control model for a mobile robot in the space of a flexible integrated production systems and computer vision systems. To solve the set tasks, the methods of set theory, methods of automatic control theory, and methods of the theory of image processing were used. The following results were obtained: the analysis of visual control systems was carried out from the point of view of solving the problems of flexible integrated systems of modern production; the adaptive visual control scheme was improved by introducing a declarative workspace model and a functional model of a flexible integrated system; the main requirements and tasks of adaptive visual control systems are formulated; considered the main stages of processing visual information and their practical implementation, including multi-zone workspaces; a model of visual control of a mobile robot in a flexible integrated production workspace has been developed; the practical tasks of managing mobile platforms have been solved. Conclusions: the use of adaptive visual control in a production environment will allow combining the elements of flexible integrated production distributed in space, providing monitoring, control and refinement of control processes in real time, the functioning of intelligent control tools, which will improve the quality of control processes.

The idea of "seeing" machines developed violently after the entry of computer technology and industry 4.0 into mass production. The first task of the machine vision is the processing of images and their adjacent equipment, and its systems then include devices with digital inputs/outputs. These inputs/outputs are designed to control some kind of movement or operation of equipment, such as manipulators or automatic lines. The modern machine vision systems are a modern direction of technology that contains elements of computer technology, optics, mechanical systems and industrial automation. With their help, modern agrorobots perform orderly tasks such as visual identification, visual control, obstacle and position determination. This article presents an overview of certain applications of different machine vision systems suitable for use in agrorobots. It is known that they are autonomously powered and work in poor climatic conditions. In other cases, the machine vision in agrorobots must necessarily work in random oscillations and variable focal length, as well as with a wide assortment of objects for research. Introduction: Laparoscopic access has always been a challenge because it has been associated with severe complications and sometimes fatal also. Aim: To compare open technique versus blind technique in placement of primary port in various laparoscopic procedures in terms of operative time, complications, ease of use and acceptability. Materials and Methods: This prospective cohort study was conducted at Government Medical College, Patiala, Punjab, India, between June 2014 to August 2016. The study included 100 patients, which were divided into two groups. Group A (n=50) received placement of primary port by open technique and Group B (n=50) received placement of primary port by blind technique. The time taken for access into peritoneal cavity and duration of surgery was noted. Multivariate analysis done using Chi-square test, p-value of less than 0.05 was considered significant. Results: Mean age of patients in group A and group B was 42.66±12.37 years and 43.06±14.67 years, respectively. Majority of patients were females in both groups (n=45 in group A and n=39 in group B). There was no significant difference in time taken for access into peritoneal cavity (p-value>0.05). The duration of hospital stay (in hours) of the patients was 36.96 in Group A and 34.42 in Group B which was not statistically significant. The incidence of intraoperative and postoperative complications was not significant. Most common complication port site infections 3 (6%) in Group A. Conclusion: There was no significant difference between the two techniques with respect to time taken for peritoneal access and complications. In expert hands, both methods are comparable.

Long jump has been extensively used in the investigation of perception-action coupling. The restraints imposed by the tasks nested at the take-off board compel skilled long jumpers to adjust the length of the final 4-5 steps of the run-up based on visual input informing about time-to-arrival. This exploratory study examined the visual regulation parameters in athletes with intellectual impairment (II) during the approach of the long jump. The approach run of 10 elite level T20 Class long jumpers (IIJ) and 10 international level long jumpers without II (NIJ) was recorded during competition. An initial ascending variability of foot placement was observed for both groups, followed by a descending one in the late phase of the approach. The parameters associated with the onset of visual control for IIJ were found to be not statistically significantly different to those of NIJ. The mean maximum toe-board distance variability was 0.38 m and 0.27 m for IIJ and NIJ, respectively. The onset of regulation commenced at the fifth- and third-to-last step for IIJ and NIJ, respectively. The finding that IIJ adjust the last steps of the run-up with sufficient accuracy suggests the presence of visual control. This information can be used to optimize long jump approach run training for athletes with II.

Although grinding is essential in the production of castings, the casting grinding process in manufacturing is complicated and there are many difficulties, such as the large amount of noise in the grinding environment, non-structural casting entities, and the inclination in the overall shape–time variation. Even in the face of complex technology and a variety of difficulties, modern casting grinding technology still demands large-batch production, low cost, fast response, thin brittleness, high precision, etc. The grinding process has a long history. This paper focus on its development from a human-operated, mechanical job, to an automatic grinding task based on compliant control theory. However, the methods mentioned above can no longer satisfy the current production need. In recent years, researchers have proposed intelligent grinding methods to meet the needs of modern casting production, and provided various strategies and alternatives to the challenges of machining accuracy, machining efficiency, and surface consistency. The research direction of casting polishing has mainly focused on online robot detection, material removal prediction, constant grinding contact force control, and high-precision matching. Although applications for online detection and constant grinding contact force control exist in industry, there are challenges in material removal prediction and three-dimensional high-precision matching. This paper also compares and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of different grinding methods, and puts forward some research directions for future work, so as to promote more intelligent and efficient grinding of complex castings in practical application.

Abstract A new concept for robust non-invasive optical activation of motorized hand prostheses by simple and non-contact commands is presented. In addition, a novel approach for aiding hand amputees is shown, outlining significant progress in thinking worth testing. In this, personalized 3D-printed artificial flexible hands are combined with commercially available motorized exoskeletons, as they are used e.g. in tetraplegics.

For existing status of low emergency decision-making and intelligent control level and inability to remotely control wind-smoke flow under abnormal conditions of mine ventilation, a regional linkage and intelligent control system of mine fire wind-smoke flow was designed. Combining with ventilation network structure, regional linkage control mechanism of wind-smoke flow during fire period was analyzed, which realized wind volume distribution according to needs of two parallel branches of smoke flowing zone and non-smoke flowing zone during fire period through setting smoke sensor, adjustable air doors and other ventilation equipments and remote control. Influence factors on intelligent control of mine fire wind-smoke flow were researched. An intelligent control model of wind-smoke flow during fire period was built through analyzing ventilation network structure before and after mine fire, and realization algorithm of visual function was also introduced. The system obtains real-time wind volume of each branch according to wind resistance, ventilation network structure and operation parameters of main ventilator during fire period, calculates ideal wind volume of key roadways through simulating fire process and sets a threshold value. When error between actual wind volume and the threshold value exceeds 10%, open degree of air door is controlled remotely, so as to realize optimal wind distribution. The application result shows that there is a perfect coupling among simulated calculation result of the system, displaying result on visual interface and field test result of wind volume in roadway.

In this paper, an imitation learning approach of vision guided reaching skill is proposed for robotic precision manipulation, which enables the robot to adapt its end-effector’s nonlinear motion with the awareness of collision-avoidance. The reaching skill model firstly uses the raw images of objects as inputs, and generates the incremental motion command to guide the lower-level vision-based controller. The needle’s tip is detected in image space and the obstacle region is extracted by image segmentation. A neighborhood-sampling method is designed for needle component collision perception, which includes a neural networks based attention module. The neural network based policy module infers the desired motion in the image space according to the neighborhood-sampling result, goal and current positions of the needle’s tip. A refinement module is developed to further improve the performance of the policy module. In three dimensional (3D) manipulation tasks, typically two cameras are used for image-based vision control. Therefore, considering the epipolar constraint, the relative movements in two cameras’ views are refined by optimization. The filtration processes through the body of the sand daм at conventional tailings, which are built by downstreaм мethod, are one of the мost iмportant eleмents that directly affect the stability of the daм and thus the overall tailings installation. By controlling the level of the seepage lines through the body of the daм, we actually indirectly control the work of the designed drainage carpets, whose function is to capture the filtration water through the body of the sand daм and drain theм downstreaм in the forм of drainage water. This paper shows the way to control the filtration processes through the body of the sand daм no. 3-2 at the Sasa Мine through a systeм of piezoмeters and through regular exaмination of the basic geoмechanical paraмeters of the sand froм which the daм is built. Approach runs in order to maximize approach velocity are an inherent component in many sports. The goal of the study was to investigate the regulation of a complex motor task in gymnastics vaulting and the impact of the visual system within these processes. It was hypothesized that a visual perception-based strategy incorporating time-to-contact information derived from the variable tau is used to optimize the run-up in particular. Kinematic parameters of 10 gymnasts performing handsprings were examined. The analysis revealed that, on average, onset of visual control took place three steps prior to the hurdle. Linear regression showed that tau margin is dependent on the velocity of the approach run. The study supports the idea of a regulation of the run-up that is based on a visual strategy in which the influence of the vaulting table is crucial. The gymnasts were able to adapt the step length and duration respective to the movement velocity in order to facilitate an optimal transition of the run-up towards the take-off board and subsequent the vaulting table. In the process the influence of run-up velocity relating to the value of tau at the onset of visual control is of utmost importance.

Aiming at the problem of unmanned reconfiguration and docking of ground vehicles under complex working conditions, we designed a piece of docking equipment composed of an active mechanism based on a six-degree-of-freedom platform and a locking mechanism with multi-sensors. Through the proposed control method based on laser and image sensor information fusion calculation, the six-dimensional posture information of the mechanism during the docking process is captured in real time so as to achieve high-precision docking. Finally, the effectiveness of the method and the feasibility of the 6-DOF platform are verified by the established model. The results show that the mechanism can meet the requirements of smooth docking of ground unmanned vehicles.

Maintaining body balance is a complex process influenced by many components, ie the organ of balance, proprioceptors and the organ of sight. Keeping your balance allows you to safely perform your daily life activities. In the case of impairment of one of the components of the equilibrium system, the postural control process is disturbed. In this situation, other sensory systems are involved to partially compensate for the deficiencies. In the case of turning off the visual inspection, the body balance is strongly disturbed as evidenced by the results of scientific research.

Non-destructive analysis, visual control and penetrating fluids methods as well as ultrasonic thickness control are easily applicable to machinery in lignite quarries and can reveal major defects on both the load-bearing structure and the main kinematic elements of the safety mechanisms. A new kind of visual acoustic measurement system was developed to obtain the acoustic characteristics of seabed sediment and the working state of in situ measuring equipment in real time. The control unit of the system structure is mainly made up of the underwater control unit and the deck control unit. In comparison with similar traditional systems, the system can transmit the working video image, the measured acoustic data and the waveform synchronous from the underwater control equipment to the deck control unit through the connecting cable. Apart from self-contained in situ measurement, the working modes of it include visual online real-time control. In order to guarantee the stability and measurement precision of the video control system, the process control of in situ measurement was strictly tested in the experimental tank. In 2017, sea trials of the in situ measurement system was carried out in the South China Sea. In the process, data related to measurement, including the acoustic velocity and attenuation coefficient of the seabed sediment, were obtained as well. The results from sea trials show that the control process of the visual system is intuitive, reliable and accurate, and therefore it can be popularized and applied. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Remarkable flight performance is key to the survival of adult Odonata. They integrate varied three-dimensional architectures and kinematics of the wings, unsteady aerodynamics, and sensory feedback control in order to achieve agile flight. Therefore, a diverse range of approaches are necessary to understand their flight strategy comprehensively. Recently, new data have been presented in several key areas in Odonata such as measurement of surface topographies, computational fluid dynamic analyses, quantitative flow visualisation using particle image velocimetry, and optical tracking of free flight trajectories in laboratory environments. In this paper, we briefly review those findings alongside more recent studies that have advanced our understanding of the flight mechanics of Odonata still further. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The paper presents the results of research carried out in one of the domestic companies producing rubber and plastics products for the automotive industry. The results of the evaluation of the quality control function during production of the low pressure hoses and the characteristics of the main machine taking part in this production process are presented. An analysis of the results of the evaluation of factors influencing the quality of production is presented and guidelines for improving this production process are presented. One of the proposed solutions for improvement is the modernization of the machine park and introduction of production nests.
