Abstract

Recent advancements in machine learning and multimedia technologies have paved new ways for automatic medical diagnosis. In mental health, multimodal inputs such as visual and audible sensing data are promising to investigate the underlying mechanisms of many conditions, such as depression and bipolar disorders. With the increasing burden on healthcare systems, timely diagnosis of mental diseases using multiple modalities might benefit millions of people worldwide. This scoping review provides an exploratory overview of recent multimodal machine learning approaches for mental disorder screening. We also discuss a generalised end-to-end multimodal machine learning pipeline for future research and development of multimodal disease detection.

5. Influence of 96 years of mineral and organic fertilization on selected soil properties: a case study from long-term field experiments in Skierniewice, central Poland.

Abstract

Long-term agricultural experiments allow for the determination of the influence of agricultural practices on soil properties. The objective of the study was to determine the effect of 96-year-old fertilization (NPK mineral fertilization and farmyard manure (FYM) use) on selected physical and chemical soil properties. The research was carried out in an experimental fi eld in Skierniewice, central Poland, where the experiments have been conducted since 1923. Seven soil profi les (Retisols or Luvisols) were studied. Long-term fertilization caused various changes in the chemical properties of the studied soil (pH, the content of total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN) and total sulphur (TS); exchangeable acidity (EA), total potential acidity (hydrolytic acidity) (TPA), cation exchange capacity (CEC), the total exchangeable bases (TEB), base saturation (BS)). The effect of long-term fertilization is most evident in the topsoil (the Ap horizon). The NPK fertilization led to acidifi cation which was expressed by the decrease of soil pH (down to the value of 5.1), as well as the increase of EA, TPA, and exchangeable Al. Long-term high-dose FYM application (40 t and 60 t ha-1 per year) led to the stabilization of soil pH to a level of 6.2-6.5 throughout the soil profile (down to 120 cm). The use of a combination of NPK fertilization and FYM application led to acidification of the topsoil similar to the soil in which NPK fertilizers were applied alone. Long-term FYM application led to the increase in TOC, TN, and TS concentrations in the Ap horizons of the studied soils. Long-term use of NPK fertilizers had no signifi cant effect on soil CEC, however long-term use of FYM increased the CEC in the Ap horizon of soils. An overall positive effect has been confi rmed in the use of high doses of FYM (40 t and 60 t ha-1 per year), which improves the chemical properties (soil pH, TOC, TN, and TS content, as well as CEC) of the soil compared to the control plot and plots with NPK fertilization alone. Abstract

There are two main points of view about underground water in Nam Bo Plain. These are: fossil water and groundwater formed from water meteorology. The research results about underground water using isotope hydrology techniques based on the isotope oxygen-18, Deterium and some natural radioisotopes conducted by Center for Nuclear techniques show that underground water in the aquifer ofNam Bo Plainis formed from meteorological water in different periods. They also reveal the recharge sources of some shallow aquifers. Therefore, Isotope hydrology technique is a good method for studying about recharging of the deep aquifers at Nam Bo Plain as well as to learn the environmental temperature change in the past for research climate change now.

7. Experimental application of optimal depth of PVDs determination under vacuum loading condition

Abstract

Viet Nam is one of the country that has a very soft and complicated geological feature. Therefore, how to economize cost but satisfy the standard and technical requirements in designing by selecting an appropriate method in building especially projects constructed on soft ground is always needed to consider and research continuouslly. In this paper, a method how to determine the optimal depth of PVDs under vacuum loading condition for soft ground improvement is presented and applied to specific case in 861 provincial street, Ward Cai Be, Tien Giang District. The soft soil includes two layers with total 12m thick and is allowed to drain on the top and bottom faces (double drainage). The result shows that the optimal depth of PVDs is about 10,5m with the small error of 0,7%

Abstract

Mapping the distribution aquifer is an urgent problem for the management agency and researchers about groundwater resources. Although the model of the aquifers have become common in the study and management of groundwater, but most of use the classic interpolation method with high reliability. Based on stratigraphic division by age and sedimentary origin and application of geostatistical theory, this study presents the process of selecting the most suitable interpolation method and given the predictive results distribution upper Pleistocene aquifer (qp3) of Hau Giang province with high reliability. The study results showed that geostatistical is a effective solutions and appropriate in the problem with the spatial information and the origin of the research subjects.
