SINGLE women , *BIOETHICS - Abstract
Since the entry into force of the new French bioethics law, procreation by single women has taken on a much greater importance than anticipated in the requests for medically assisted procreation. Being able to put sexuality aside in procreation is becoming a possibility that some women are seizing as part of an explicit project to procreate on their own, a phenomenon that is evident in the evolution of requests for gametes. If on a subjective level the world of procreation and sexuality are disconnected, are they also in the process of becoming so in the reality of conceiving a child? Procreation among single women, some still very young, some claiming to be asexual, others being biologically virgins and sometimes wishing to remain so, raises questions about a clinical change underway in maternity and its subjective origins.
