The purpose of this research to describe the type of student question on learning mathematics with a scientific approach. This research at the tenth-grade student of SMA Negeri 7 Purworejo in the academic year of 2019/2020. The design of the study used descriptive quantitative. This research using purposive sampling. The research took 36 students of X MIA 6. The researchers analyzed the data by using observation, video record, and field notes. The study results show that the type of question many students convey is remembering information, concept understanding, and concept applying in learning material.

Background Technology can enhance support for families caring for persons living with dementia but must be acceptable to be adopted. The FamTechCare clinical trial engaged caregivers in video recording care encounters that were reviewed by an expert panel who provided tailored feedback. The intervention reduced caregiver depression and improved caregiver competence. This mixed methods study reports on caregiver satisfaction and utilization of the intervention and expert panel evaluation of the intervention. Methods A convergent parallel mixed methods design was used to evaluate the satisfaction, usability, and feasibility of the FamTechCare intervention. In the multisite randomized controlled trial, caregiver-person living with dementia dyads were randomized to the FamTechCare video support or attention control telephone support groups. Caregivers completed a satisfaction survey at the completion of the 3-month trial. Utilization was evaluated using the number and duration of videos submitted and calls received by caregivers. Relationships between participant characteristics and their satisfaction and utilization were evaluated. Feasibility of the intervention was assessed through content analysis of interviews with the expert panel. Results The majority of caregivers in both groups reported benefits from participation. More FamTechCare caregivers found the interventionist support to be helpful ( p = 0.001) and effective ( p = 0.020) compared to attention control caregivers. FamTechCare caregivers of persons with more severe dementia were more likely to report that video recording intruded on their privacy ( p = 0.050). Caregiver age, gender, education, dyad relationship, rural status, and type and severity of dementia were not associated with ratings of acceptability, ease of use, or intervention utilization. The expert panel described the FamTechCare intervention as useful and identified adaptations to enhance feasibility. Conclusion Regardless of age, gender, and relationship, caregivers found the intervention acceptable and easy to use and rated the expert feedback as effective in addressing care challenges. Further adaptation may be needed for FamTechCare to be readily implemented.

BACKGROUND Our group has shown that personalized video feedback (PVF) is better than a task demonstration video at increasing wound closure skills among incoming surgical interns. However, offering PVF can be time-consuming. We sought to compare the educational effects and time required for group video feedback (GVF) and PVF. METHODS We have mailed our matched incoming "surgical" interns a "welcome package" in mid-March for the past 3 y. The package includes similar resources each year. Incoming interns were asked to video record themselves performing six tasks three separate times between April 1 and June 15. After each submission in 2016 and 2017, incoming interns received 2 min of personalized feedback on their three separate wound closure videos (PVF). In 2018, incoming interns received 5 min of group-based feedback three separate times covering all six tasks (GVF). We compared performance (July Surgical Olympics) of these six skills against the interns from the previous 2 y who received PVF on only one skill (suturing). RESULTS Twenty-three incoming interns received the pre-residency package and participated in the 2018 Surgical Olympics. A new nonstationary nondestructive rapid method of determining the thermal diffusivity of materials and finished articles has been suggested and tested experimentally without cutting out samples from them and preparation of the latter. The method is based on using an infrared imager to video record the infrared radiation of the surface originating as a result of its local stepwise heating by, say, a focused laser beam. Subsequent computer processing of the patterns of the nonstationary thermal field by the developed models and algorithms makes it possible to determine the thermal diffusivity of a material or an article in the case of one-sided access to them.

This article aims to present and discuss in which ways teachers in the beginning of their academic lives were able to materialize the principles of task-based teaching (TBT) after being part of a teaching extension course and have designed communicative activities of this type. The extension course was leaded at a federal university in the countryside of São Paulo and its content was the theoretical principles that involved the concept of communicative tasks and its design. At the end of the course, students were asked to elaborate the communicative tasks and they presented it on last class of the course. As a theoretical reference for the course and for the analysis of the data, were based on Prabhu (1987), Nunan (1989), Skehan (1996), Ellis (2003), Xavier (1999), Barbirato (2005), Vieira Abrahão (2006), among others studies. Three participants were chosen for an analysis that it is presented on this article based on the criterion of being pre-service teachers. A quiz and the video record of the last class of the course were used as data collection and the task that they produced was also analyzed. As a result, the study shows that the principles of task design were partially accomplished on the participants produced tasks. However, it would be necessary a more profound approach in the theoretical studies. The results also show an emphasis on interactive nature tasks., Temos por objetivo, neste artigo, apresentar e discutir em que medida professores em formação inicial, após terem participado de um curso de extensão universitária sobre a elaboração de tarefas comunicativas para o ensino de línguas, conseguem concretizar os princípios definidores do referido tipo de atividade. O curso de extensão foi ministrado em uma universidade federal do interior de São Paulo e abordou a teoria que embasa o conceito de tarefa comunicativa e sua elaboração. Ao término do curso, foi solicitado aos alunos que elaborassem tarefas comunicativas e as apresentassem na última aula do curso. Como referencial teórico para o curso e para a análise dos dados, baseamo-nos em Prabhu (1987), Nunan (1989), Skehan (1996), Ellis (2003), Xavier (1999), Barbirato (2005), Vieira Abrahão (2006), entre outros. Foram escolhidos três participantes para a análise apresentada, com base no critério ser professor em formação inicial. Como instrumentos de geração e coleta de dados, foram utilizados um questionário inicial, gravação e posterior transcrição da última aula do curso, na qual os participantes apresentaram as tarefas produzidas por eles. Como resultados, a investigação revelou que, embora os participantes tenham se aproximado muito dos princípios definidores de tarefa em suas produções, seria necessário, ainda, maior amadurecimento teórico deles. Background Skin-to-skin contact after birth between mother and baby has immediate and long-term advantages. Widstrom's 9 Stages of Newborn Behavior offer an opportunity to evaluate a baby in the natural, expected and optimal habitat. Intrapartum drugs, including fentanyl administered via epidural and synthetic oxytocin (synOT), have been studied in relation to neonatal outcomes with conflicting results. Aims Determine the effects of common intrapartum medications on the instinctive behavior of healthy newborns during the first hour after birth through a prospective cohort study. Study design Video record newly-born term infants during the first hour after birth while in skin-to-skin contact with mother. Code and analyze videos using Widstrom's 9 Stages; compare with the labor medications mothers received. Subjects Convenience sample of sixty-three low-income mothers self-selected to labor with or without intrapartum analgesia. Outcome measures Duration of time infants spend in each of Widstrom's 9 Stages for four cohorts: 1) exposed to no synOT or epidural fentanyl during labor, 2) exposed to fentanyl (but not synOT), 3) exposed synOT (but not fentanyl), 4) exposed to both fentanyl and synOT. Results A strong inverse correlation was found between intrapartum exposure to fentanyl and synOT and the normal behavior of an infant, as measured by time in each Stage. Conclusions Intrapartum exposure to the drugs fentanyl and synOT is associated with altered newborn infant behavior, including suckling, while in skin-to-skin contact with mother during the first hour after birth. Widstrom's 9 Stages offer an opportunity to analyze newborn behavior whilst in the optimal habitat of the infant.

This paper presents the geometric and kinematic features of a landslide in Mabian, Sichuan, China, which occurred on 5 May 2018, derived from data of UAV photography. In combination with a field investigation, the UAV data permits to delineate the source area, overlap area, and accumulation area of this landslide. Coupled with DEM, its total source and accumulation volumes are estimated and the motion process is analyzed using the video record. The results show that Mabian landslide is a planar rocky downslope movement with a total horizontal projection area of 24,871 m2, source volume of 13,750 m3, accumulation volume of 213,200 m3, and the expansion rate of 55%. The sliding video demonstrates that the movement duration of the landsliding is about 16 s with a mean velocity 15.3 m/s, and the maximum velocity is 22.8 m/s. This study shows that the UAV-based aerial photography technology allow us to well characterize landslides rapidly in a quantitative manner.

Background: There are criminal cases that no frequently used evidence, for example, DNAs from the criminal, is available. Such cases usually are unresolvable. With the advent of DNA metabarcoding, evidences are mined from environmental DNA and such cases become resolvable. This study reports how a criminal suspect was determined by environmental plant DNA metabarcoding technology. A girl was killed in a rural wet area in China without a witness or video record. Pants with dried mud was found from one of her boyfriend’s house. The mud was removed from the pants and 11 more mud or soil samples surrounding murder scene were collected. DNA was extracted from the soil. Chloroplast rbcL gene fragments were amplified and sequenced on a next generation sequencing platform. Results: After bioinformatics analysis, of the 2980 ZOTUs in total obtained from the 12 samples, 1495 ZOTUs were identified to species, genera or families based on the existing public database. The feast analysis based on either taxa or taxa plus abundance data demonstrated that the mud on the suspect’s pants was from the criminal scene. Conclusions: The suspect finally made a clean breast of his crime. This case implies that plant DNA in the environment soil is a new source of evidence in determination of suspects using DNA metabarcoding technology and has high potentials of extensive applications in criminal cases.

This paper proposes a three-phase method for generating high-definition (HD) maps based on the analysis of video recordings obtained from DVRs or smartphones mounted in a vehicle. The method uses a convolutional neural network (CNN) as a classifier of map object types on the video frames. The calculation of the distances while HD-map generating is carried out using a mathematical model taking into account three-dimensional space and tilt angles of the camera. CNN had trained on the KITTI image set to determine the asphalt surface, then it applied to a video record with 1800 frames to generate a layer of HD-map. The test results showed a measurement error is about 5% at a distance of 15 meters from the camera, thus, the proposed method could be used as a tool for HD-maps generation.

Upper and lower thermal limits of plants and animals are important predictors of their performance, survival, and geographic distributions, and are essential for predicting responses to climate change. This work describes two high-throughput protocols for measuring insect thermal limits: one for assessing critical thermal minima (CTmin), and the other for assessing heat knock down time (KDT) in response to a static heat stressor. In the CTmin assay, individuals are placed in an acrylic-jacketed column, subjected to a decreasing temperature ramp, and counted as they fall from their perches using an infrared sensor. In the heat KDT assay, individuals are contained in a 96 well plate, placed in an incubator set to a stressful, hot temperature, and video recorded to determine the time at which they can no longer remain upright and move. These protocols offer advantages over commonly used techniques. Both assays are low cost and can be completed relatively quickly (~2 h). The CTmin assay reduces experimenter error and can measure a large number of individuals at once. The heat KDT protocol generates a video record of each assay and thus removes experimenter bias and the need to continuously monitor individuals in real time.

BackgroundThe role of aerosols in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 remains debated. We analysed an outbreak involving three non-associated families in Restaurant X in Guangzhou, China, and assessed the possibility of aerosol transmission of SARS-CoV-2 and characterize the associated environmental conditions.MethodsWe collected epidemiological data, obtained a video record and a patron seating-arrangement from the restaurant, and measured the dispersion of a warm tracer gas as a surrogate for exhaled droplets from the suspected index patient. Computer simulations were performed to simulate the spread of fine exhaled droplets. We compared the in-room location of subsequently infected cases and spread of the simulated virus-laden aerosol tracer. The ventilation rate was measured using the tracer decay method.ResultsThree families (A, B, C), 10 members of which were subsequently found to have been infected with SARS-CoV-2 at this time, or previously, ate lunch at Restaurant X on Chinese New Year’s Eve (January 24, 2020) at three neighboring tables. Subsequently, three members of family B and two members of family C became infected with SARS-CoV-2, whereas none of the waiters or 68 patrons at the remaining 15 tables became infected. During this occasion, the ventilation rate was 0.75–1.04 L/s per person. No close contact or fomite contact was observed, aside from back-to-back sitting by some patrons. Our results show that the infection distribution is consistent with a spread pattern representative of exhaled virus-laden aerosols.ConclusionsAerosol transmission of SARS-CoV-2 due to poor ventilation may explain the community spread of COVID-19.

This paper investigates the failure of the underdeck maintenance gantry of the metro crossing bridge in Istanbul, Turkey on January 4, 2014, which resulted in the injury of four workers. First, a brief description of the gantry and the bridge has been provided, which is followed by the findings of the on-site investigation which involved the review of the video record of the incident, interviews with the field staff, overview of the project drawings and the investigation of the parts of the collapsed gantry. Additionally, the finite element model of the part where the collapse initiated was created and loaded in accordance with the operation procedures of the gantry during the incident. Finally, on-site investigation and finite element analysis results revealed that collapse of the gantry occurred by exceeding the shear capacity of the bolts in the connections. Moreover, the exceedance of the shear capacity was the consequence of unexpected operating practices used by the workers during the incident, which caused unforeseen shear stress concentration in the bolts.

Rapid increase of transportation demand in urban roads causes delay, congestion, raise in vehicle operating cost, and safety and environmental problems. In this research, effort is made to evaluate capacity and level of service in divided and undivided mid-block sections of urban roads in peak and off-peak hours of the day. Speed and traffic volume data were collected by a video record method for 12 h. As the traffic in Indian cities is heterogeneous and has various static and dynamic characteristics, it needs to be converted into homogeneous traffic, so that we can evaluate capacity and level of service; therefore, it has been done by three methods, homogenization coefficient, PCU value as per IRC, and Chandra’s method, and the result with the capacity and level of service is compared. Various speed–flow, flow–density, and speed–density relationships were made based on field data. Speed–density relationship was developed by Greenshield, Greenberg, and Underwood models, and the R2 values were more fitted into the Underwood’s model; hence, the capacity was estimated based on this model. The level of service was analyzed by DPCU/C and PCU/C for the morning and evening peak hours, and the observed level of service of the most peak hour periods of the road sections was obtained C, D, and E. Also, friction model has been developed by SPSS software, in which the input variables were BIC, V/C ratio, PSV, PEDC, and PEDSW and the output variable was the speed. It was observed that friction has a substantial effect on the speed of vehicles.

ObjectivesPatients often bring their smartphones to the emergency department (ED) and want to record their procedures. There was no clear ED recording policy in the Saskatoon Health Region nor is there in the new Saskatchewan Health Authority. With limited literature on the subject, clinicians currently make the decision to allow/deny the request to record independently. The purpose of this study was to examine and compare patient and clinician perspectives concerning patients recording, in general, and recording their own procedures in the ED.MethodsSurveys were developed for patients and clinicians with respect to history and opinions about recording/being recorded. ED physicians and nurses, and patients>17 years old who entered the ED with a laceration requiring stitches were recruited to participate; 110 patients and 156 staff responded.ResultsThere was a significant difference between the proportion of patients (61.7% [66/107]) and clinicians (28.1% [41/146]) who believed that patients should be allowed to video record their procedure. There was also a significant difference between clinicians and patients with regard to audio recording, but not “selfies” (pictures). However, with no current policy, 47.8% (66/138) of clinicians said that they would allow videos if asked, with caveats about staff and patient privacy, prior consent, and procedure/patient care.ConclusionContrary to patients’ views, clinicians were not in favour of allowing audio or video recordings in the ED. Concerns around consent, staff and patient privacy, and legal issues warrant the development of a detailed policy if the decision is made in favour of recording.

Montreal, June 2–8, 1974: Over 200 representatives of political cinema from 25 countries gathered at the Rencontres Internationales pour un Nouveau Cinéma. Among the participants were militant filmmakers, members of 1968 film groups, producers, distributors, film critics, and historians, as well as film institute delegates from Europe, Latin America, Africa, and North America. Even though this was one of the most important worldwide events in the field of political cinema at the time, it has been largely overlooked by film historians. Between 2012 and 2013, Argentinian researcher Mariano Mestman located and digitalised numerous video recordings of the presentations and debates that took place at the Rencontres, which until now had remained largely unknown. In this article, the author analyses the video record of one of the conference’s key political and theoretical debates, which concerned the relationship between audio-visual technology and social change. Given the markedly transitional character of the social use of media technologies during that period—from political film to militant video—and the diverse backgrounds of the participants, the discussion of experiences of activist media moved in multiple directions. Among these, the article highlights the debates around the crucial case of Canada’s National Film Board’s Challenge for Change/Société Nouvelle documentary film and video project. The article’s analysis of the discussions demonstrates that in spite of the diversity of their experiences and backgrounds, Canadian, European, and Third World participants were all looking for an alternative international political cinema greatly influenced by the ideas contained in Third Cinema. Objective: This study explores how common machine learning techniques can predict surgical maneuvers from a continuous video record of surgical benchtop simulations. Background: Automatic computer vision recognition of surgical maneuvers (suturing, tying, and transition) could expedite video review and objective assessment of surgeries. Method: We recorded hand movements of 37 clinicians performing simple and running subcuticular suturing benchtop simulations, and applied three machine learning techniques (decision trees, random forests, and hidden Markov models) to classify surgical maneuvers every 2 s (60 frames) of video. Results: Random forest predictions of surgical video correctly classified 74% of all video segments into suturing, tying, and transition states for a randomly selected test set. Hidden Markov model adjustments improved the random forest predictions to 79% for simple interrupted suturing on a subset of randomly selected participants. Conclusion: Random forest predictions aided by hidden Markov modeling provided the best prediction of surgical maneuvers. Training of models across all users improved prediction accuracy by 10% compared with a random selection of participants. Application: Marker-less video hand tracking can predict surgical maneuvers from a continuous video record with similar accuracy as robot-assisted surgical platforms, and may enable more efficient video review of surgical procedures for training and coaching.

The aim of the study was to get deeply the implementation intercultural approach in Japanese speaking learning activities at senior high school. The research method is qualitative using direct observation. While the process of collecting data used documentation, video record, field note, the interview is appropriate with the research setting. The result of research found that Japanese speaking activities inside and outside the classroomhave some components, namely learning method implementation, the role of teacher and students, the role of native speaker teacher, and the material of learning. Speaking is a productive skill with requires the interactive and performance process. To be able to improve and represent student’s capability in their speaking skill, student also need to drill and practice their speaking as the academic presenter, because if they able to speak academically, their speaking skill will get well improvement automatically. This research is aimed to investigate student’s speaking performance while they have academic speaking practice. The population of this research is 4th semester student of Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, located in Cikokol-Tangerang. The sample is single sample. To find the data, researcher use video record originally from the speaker then doing the analysis with triangulation validity. This research showed that students speaking performance is need to be treating well, especially in their self-confident and vocabulary master, because it will be impossible for them to be a good speaker if they have lots of anxiety.

In planning of free-style free perforator flaps, relying on defined anatomical landmarks and preoperative imaging technologies is difficult to locate the perforating arteries. With the goal of developing culturally appropriate approaches for assessing and supporting children's language use, teachers of 4-to 6-year-old children in northern Canadian rural and Indigenous communities are involved in a 6-year collaborative action research project. Teachers video record children's interactions during dramatic and construction play and then meet with university researchers to carry out inductive analyses of ways in which children use language to achieve social purposes. From these analyses, a Play-based Communication Assessment has been created. Examples from two teachers' classrooms in one Indigenous community are used to show how play contexts and the still-evolving play-based communication assessment provide opportunities for teachers to recognise and build upon the linguistic and cultural resources that children bring to classrooms. Through the play-based assessment and action research processes, teachers have come to recognise the richness of children's language when they are engaged in play and have gained understandings of their community's culture. Teachers and researchers are exploring ways to capture children's non-verbal communication abilities through this assessment approach.

This article introduces the concept of urban togetherness to parade research. We suggest that some parades are practices that establish urban relations and not community, carnival or consumerist relations. We develop this new perspective on the basis of a literature review and an analysis of a parade in Brussels, the Zinneke Parade. In the literature review, we distinguish between three existing perspectives on parades. Research has argued that parades serve to build community and claim identity, to suspend social positions and to enable tourist/consumerist relations. In our analysis, we focus on concrete features of the Zinneke Parade obtained through video recording showing the costumes and objects carried along, the rhythm and sounds, and the borders and interactions established during the parade. There is debate over whether single-handed eating movements, reaching for food and withdrawing the hand to place the food in the mouth, originated in the primate lineage or whether they originated in phylogenetically-earlier Euarchontoglires. Most spontaneous hand use in eating by the laboratory mouse (Mus domestica) involves both hands, and a central question is the extent to which the movements are symmetric. Here we describe an asymmetry of spontaneous single hand use by the head-fixed mouse in making the yo-yo hand movement of removing and replacing a piece of pasta (spaghetti) in the mouth for eating. We also describe the problem/solution of placing into the mouth the end of a held item that protrudes at some distance from the hand. Pasta-eating proceeds in bouts, and a bout starts with raising the hands, which are holding a piece of pasta, to place one end of the pasta in the mouth for biting. A bout ends with lowering the hands, still holding the pasta stem, while the pasta morsel that has been bitten off is chewed. Hand-lowering after the pasta is removed from the mouth is slow, concurrent and symmetric, both when the pasta is held by both hands and when it is held in one hand. Hand-raising to place the pasta in the mouth is fast, consecutive and asymmetric, both when the pasta is held in both hands and when it is held in one hand. Frame-by-frame analyses of the video record combined with kinematic analyses show that a preferred single hand not only directs one end of the pasta to the mouth but also readjusts the trajectory of the pasta if it misses the mouth. The specialized use of a single hand by the mouse, even when the hands are bilaterally engaged, and the corrective asymmetric movements with which one hand adjusts the pasta’s trajectory with the other hand playing a supporting role, is discussed in relation to the idea that hand preference, specialization, and dexterity have somatosensory and preprimate origins.

This article aims at establishing relations of proximity and differentiation between the pre-constructed notion formulated by Paul Henry and taken up by Michel Pêcheux in Discourse Analysis and the notion of pre-discourses, according to Marie-Anne Paveau’s relatively recent theorization. Considering that these two theoretical notions refer to the functioning of discursive antecedents, what is proposed is a questioning about the (new?) ways of analysis that can present themselves to discourse analysts from the pre-discourse approach. In order to “test” these possibilities of analysis, the final part of the article refer to some statements that emerged in manifestations of opposition to Dilma Rousseff’s government in the period after her re-election, which were taken from the page of sharing videos Youtube from the video record made by the protesters themselves and the representatives of news agencies that covered the acts. The statements collected reinforce the specificity of Marie-Anne’s theory, since they denounce the vestige of pre-discourses, as well as authorize possible approximations between what they propose Pêcheux and Paveau in the context of themes that are already explored within the Discourse Analysis. Este artigo objetiva estabelecer relações de proximidade e de diferenciação entre a noção de pré-construído, formulada por Paul Henry e retomada por Michel Pêcheux na Análise de Discurso, e a noção de pré-discursos, conforme teorização relativamente mais recente de Marie-Anne Paveau. Considerando que essas duas noções teóricas se referem ao funcionamento de anterioridades discursivas, o que se propõe é um questionamento sobre os (novos?) caminhos de análise que podem se apresentar aos analistas de discurso a partir da abordagem dos pré-discursos. Com o objetivo de “testar” essas possibilidades de análise, a parte final do artigo recorre a alguns enunciados que emergiram em manifestações de oposição ao governo de Dilma Rousseff no período após a sua reeleição (2014 – 2016), os quais foram retirados da página de compartilhamento de vídeos Youtube a partir do registro em vídeo feito pelos próprios manifestantes e pelos representantes das agências de notícia que cobriam os atos. Os enunciados coletados reforçam a especificidade da teoria de Marie Anne Paveau, já que denunciam os indícios de pré-discursos, assim como autorizam tecer possíveis aproximações entre o que propõem Pêcheux e Paveau no âmbito de temáticas que já se encontram devidamente exploradas no interior da Análise do Discurso.

A physician-staffed helicopter emergency medical service called a doctor helicopter (DH) in Eastern Shizuoka was equipped with a smartphone video transmission system in April 2018. We herein report on the introduction of this system for the verification of transfusion in the DH. A 51-year-old man visited a local hospital after cutting his left neck himself. He was diagnosed with jugular vein injury and underwent compressive hemostasis. As he entered profound hemorrhagic shock, he underwent tracheal intubation, massive fluid resuscitation, and administration of 3 vasopressor agents to maintain circulation. The Eastern Shizuoka DH was requested to transport this patient. After making contact with the patient, the staff of the DH started prehospital transfusion. Because this was the first case of transfusion in a prehospital setting for our hospital, we held a meeting in which we used a smartphone video transmission system to verify the condition surrounding the transfusion in the DH. By reviewing the video record, we confirmed that the transfusion was performed safely and correctly in the prehospital setting. This smartphone video transmission system was useful for verifying the activity of the staff in the DH.

This study regards the research and develop Medical Instructional Media (MIM) about human’s anatomy and 3D Projection Mapping (3DPM) for the application in 3D-MIM by showing the position of human organs and their mechanism, especially digestive and blood circulation systems. The MIM was done by using sensors to detect the movement of audiences to activate media to play video record with the 3DPM. The process of creating MIM consists of data collection, planning and designing the MIM, quality assessment and satisfaction of group sample respectively. From the experimental results, the algorithm works well the height of projector the position. The overall accuracy of uv texture is 89% and the accuracy of 3D mapping is 82%.

En este artículo presentamos una investigación que analiza la práctica docente en el ámbito universitario y su potencialidad para promover una Educación para la Sostenibilidad. Se trata de un estudio de caso cuyo objetivo es conocer el grado de inclusión de la sostenibilidad en un aula de la Universidad de Cádiz, a través del análisis de la metodología que pone en juego el sujeto objeto de estudio. Los datos han sido recogidos utilizando los siguientes instrumentos: cuestionario, documentos, entrevista, grabaciones audiovisuales y guion de observación. Como herramienta de análisis de datos, se ha empleado una herramienta de análisis metodológico denominado HAMS, de elaboración propia. Intelligent video analysis technology has been widely used to detect moving vehicles and pedestrians in huge volume video record. In order to find a unified solution to moving vehicles and pedestrians detection in videos, BD_CNN (Background Difference_Convolutional Neural Network) algorithm is proposed in this paper, which applies background difference technology to recognize moving objects, adopts convolutional neural network algorithm to extract features of vehicle and pedestrian automatically, and builds unified vehicle and pedestrian classifier. The multi-scale detection method and reasonable decision mechanics are designed to improve the detection accuracy. Experimental results validate the algorithm’s availability and efficiency in the moving objects detection.

A method is developed to allow one to find changes in the flow characteristics in straight pipes, caused by the appearance of their local planar tortuosity, based on the data taken from the appropriate video record of fluid motion in the pipes only. The method is based on replacement of real flow with the averaged one, and subsequent calculation of its characteristics in terms of the corresponding averaged flow characteristics. The method is non-invasive, has the engineering accuracy and allows one not to take account of a number of identical factors for the originally straight and subsequently tortuous segment of the pipe under consideration. In addition, it allows one to find the flow characteristics of interest at any time after carrying out the video record, is not associated with solving complicated technical problems, and does not require special facility to be used, special professional training and significant financial and temporal expenses .

The research examines the usability of gender factor which is important in educational softwares. Math educational software is used in the research and software's level is primary education. Used method in the research is case study with eye- tracking and video record. Eye- tracking technology, screen captures, mouse and keyboard movies and one-way mirror observation used in the research. While students doing their task the application area, students behaviors have been recorded by camera. Study group is consist of six primary education's student. This student's eye movements to be examined while they used the software. The areas are defined where the students looked the longest and the most frequent in the educational software's interface. Heatmap, scanpath and fixation count analyzes are used in the research. Usability researches which used eye-tracking method are limited in Turkey. This research will contribute the literature for developing primary educational softwares. Findings to be discussed and overtured for the educational softwares.

Purpose People tend to believe eyewitness testimony and have difficulty assessing the accuracy of eyewitness identifications. This study examines observers' perceptions of eyewitness identifications made under various line-up presentation and administration conditions. We also investigate whether observers' ability to discriminate between accurate and inaccurate identifications is enhanced by viewing video-recorded identification decisions rather than eyewitness testimony. Methods Each participant (N = 432) viewed a video of an accurate or inaccurate eyewitness providing testimony and/or making an identification decision. Identifications were obtained from simultaneous or sequential line-ups conducted under double-blind, single-blind, or post-identification feedback administration conditions. Results Exposure to eyewitness testimony was associated with a bias to believe the evidence; exposure to the identification decision eliminated the response bias, however, it did not improve observer sensitivity to identification accuracy. Viewing the identification decision resulted in greater belief of accurate than inaccurate identifications when eyewitnesses chose from simultaneous - but not sequential - line-ups. Regardless of evidence type or identification accuracy, observers were more likely to believe eyewitnesses who received confirmatory post-identification feedback compared to the non-feedback conditions. Conclusions Presenting a video record of the identification decision neither improved observers' ability to discriminate between accurate and inaccurate eyewitness identifications nor reduced belief of identifications obtained from suggestive procedures. Further research is warranted before presenting video-recorded identification procedures in court. © 2013 The British Psychological Society.

This study investigates the effect(s) of e-portfolio on the speaking skills of Turkish EFL learners. It examines whether e-portfolio has a similar positive effect on improving speaking skills as it does on writing skills. The study was carried out with 17 students in an English Language preparation department of one of the universities in Turkey. The students were given two assignments depending on the units covered in their listening and speaking courses. They were required to prepare and video record or audio record their assignments, and uploa d them to www.lore.com, which was used as an e-portfolio platform. To collect data, interviews, self-assessment papers, and cover letters were used. The collected data were analyzed using content analysis. Results show that e-portfolio is equally effective in Turkish EFL learners speaking skills as it is with their writing skills.
