Les contextes dans lesquels naissent, croissent, se développent ou disparaissent les PME ont connu d’importantes mutations au cours des dernières années. Les défis que doivent relever les entrepreneurs et les PME se renouvellent rapidement tout en présentant des enjeux nouveaux qui ne peuvent pas toujours être éclairés brillamment par les connaissances actuelles. Pour soutenir nos économies fragilisées par autant de perturbations, il est nécessaire que les chercheurs se commettent dans des réflexions visant parfois à sortir des cadres traditionnels de reproduction de connaissances pour oser s’aventurer sur des sentiers encore en friche. Des théories et des modèles classiques développés dans des contextes qui n’existent plus doivent être remis en question pour mieux comprendre la réalité de nos objets de recherche. Cela demande aux chercheurs de s’engager dans des sujets originaux, mais aussi en ayant recours à de nouvelles méthodes ou en déployant des dispositifs de recherche novateurs. Le but de cet article est de proposer plusieurs avenues de recherche à l’avant-garde de la littérature sur les PME et l’entrepreneuriat permettant de renouveler le corpus de connaissances dans quelques domaines. Celles-ci sont susceptibles d’orienter les chercheurs vers des avenues offrant un réel potentiel de nouveauté, non seulement sur le plan scientifique, mais également sur le plan pratique., The contexts in which SMEs are born, grow, develop or disappear have undergone significant changes in recent years. This requires researchers to engage with original topics, but also by using new methods or deploying innovative research devices. The aim of this article is to propose several avenues of research at the forefront of the literature on SMEs and entrepreneurship to renew the body of knowledge in a few areas. These are likely to direct researchers towards avenues that offer real potential for novelty, not only scientifically, but also practically., Los contextos en los que nacen, crecen, se desarrollan o desaparecen las PyME han experimentado cambios significativos en los últimos años. Los retos a los que se enfrentan los empresarios y las PyME cambian rápidamente, al tiempo que plantean nuevas cuestiones que no siempre pueden ser iluminadas brillantemente por los conocimientos actuales. Para sostener nuestras economías debilitadas por tantas perturbaciones, es necesario que los investigadores emprendan reflexiones que a veces pretenden salir de los marcos tradicionales de reproducción del conocimiento y se atreven a aventurarse por caminos aún no trillados. Las teorías y modelos clásicos desarrollados en contextos que ya no existen deben cuestionarse para comprender mejor la realidad de nuestros objetos de investigación. The success of the Business Model (BM) as a practical concept makes it a promising tool for entrepreneurs to shape a more challenging environment. As teaching BM design to students appears essential, we have developed a specific web learning application based on actionable theoretical developments. The web application is called GRP Storyteller, from the GRP BM it is based on (www.grp-lab.com). We assess the perceived quality of the web application through a survey among 281 non-business students enrolled in seminars introducing entrepreneurship. Students were asked whether the application facilitates the learning of the BM according to various pedagogical objectives. They also evaluated its design, organization and user-friendly qualities. The results show that the application improves the learning of the BM by helping students remember, understand and apply conceptual knowledge.
