Background The registry investigated clinical outcomes after 12 months of implantation of ultra-thin strut (60 µm) biodegradable polymer-coated Tetrilimus everolimus-eluting stents (EES; Sahajanand Medical Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Surat, India) in patients with atherosclerotic coronary lesions. Additionally, sub-group analysis was performed to evaluate outcomes of ultra-long (44/48 mm) Tetrilimus EES in patients with long lesions. Methods This was an observational, single-center, single-arm and investigator-initiated retrospective registry. In this all-comers registry, patients who underwent implantation of Tetrilimus EES for treatment of coronary artery disease during routine clinical practice between February-2016 and August-2016 at tertiary care center of India were included. Primary endpoint was occurrence of any major adverse cardiac event (MACE) up to 12 months' follow-up. MACE was a composite of cardiac death, myocardial infarction (MI), and target lesion revascularization (TLR). Similar endpoints were observed in sub-group patients. Results Total 766 stents were implanted to treat 695 lesions in 558 patients. Of treated lesions, 11.4% lesions were type B2 and 78.3% were type C lesions. In sub-group analysis of 143 patients, a total of 155 long coronary lesions were intervened successfully with only one stent been implanted per lesion. At 12 months' follow-up, four (0.7%) cases of cardiac death, eight (1.4%) of MI, and two (0.4%) of TLR were reported, resulting in a 2.5% rate of MACE. The MACE rate was 2.8% in sub-group patients. Conclusions Twelve months' clinical data demonstrated favorable safety and excellent performance of Tetrilimus EES in high-risk patients and complex coronary lesions in routine clinical practice and also in patients with ultra-long lesions.

The reaction obeys first order kinetics with respect to RH and IO4– . The reaction is around hundred times faster in the presence of CTAB compared to aqueous medium under identical conditions. This is due to lower dielectric constant in micellar medium in which the transition state in more stabilized. The rate of the reaction increases with increase in concentration of CTAB up to 0.08 mol dm–3 and thereafter shows a limiting behavior with increase in micellar concentration. The monotonic increase indicates a unimolecular pathway. Using Menger and Portnoy’spre equilibrium kinetic model binding constant was found to be 21.84 mol–1 dm3 . This value was found to be in good agreementwith the calculated binding constant KM (= pṼ) = 39.2, where p is partition co-efficient and Ṽis molar volume. In order to account for the catalytic behavior of CTAB, theoretical calculations of single point energy and energy gap were done using GAUSSIAN 09 W program employing density functional theory (DFT) with Becke’s three-parameters hybrid functional in combination of Lee-Yang-Parr functional implemented with LANL2DZ basis sets using conductor like polarizable continuum model (CPCM). (DFT/B3LYP/LANL2DZ/CPCM (solvent = water)). Based on the structures of RH, KIO4 and CTAB, binding energies (BEs) were calculated for the dimer complexes RH-KIO4 and RH-KIO4 -CTAB. BEs of the RH-KIO4 and RH-KIO4 -CTAB systems have been found to be –60.4 kcal/mol and –70.4 kcal/mol, respectively. The high binding energy (RH-KIO4 -CTAB, –70.4kcal/mol) indicates the catalytic behavior. The HLEG (HOMO-LUMO Energy Gap) measures the stability of the system. A large HLEG implies high stability (less reactive) and slight gap implies low stability (highly reactive). In this work, RH-KIO4 -CTAB system, the gap is reduced around 1.28 times than the RH-KIO4 system which clearly indicates that the CTAB surfactant plays a vital role in this reaction. It explains that catalytic behavior of CTAB by theoretical approach.

Huntington’s disease is an inherited intricate brain illness. It is a neurodegenerative, insidious disorder; the onset of the disease is very late to diagnose. It is caused by an expanded CAG repeat in the Huntingtin gene, which encodes an abnormally long polyglutamine repeat in the Huntingtin protein. Huntington’s disease has served as a model for the study of other more common neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. Symptomatic treatment of Huntington’s disease involves use of Dopamine antagonists, presynaptic dopamine depleters, Antidepressants, Tranquillizers,Anxiolytic Benzodiazepines, Anticonvulsants and Antibiotics. Several medications including baclofen,idebenone and vitamin E, Zinc-finger nucleases (ZFNs) have been studied in clinical trials with limited samples. In the present article, we have concentrated on clinical features, diagnosis, symptomatic approaches, symptomatic treatment and other therapies involved in the management of Huntington’s disease.Key words: Neurodegeneration, Polyglutamine, Huntingtin, Symptomatic treatment
